Warnings about the Adulteress
1 My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you.
2 Keep my commandments and live. Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Tell wisdom, "You are my sister." Call understanding your relative,
5 that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.
6 For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice.
7 I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,
8 passing through the street near her corner, he went the way to her house,
9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the middle of the night and in the darkness.
10 Look, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute, and with crafty intent.
11 She is loud and defiant. Her feet do not stay in her house.
12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:
14 "Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. This day I have paid my vows.
15 Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.
16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning. Let's solace ourselves with loving.
19 For my husband isn't at home. He has gone on a long journey.
20 He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon."
21 With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.
22 He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool to the correction of the stocks.
23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn't know that it will cost his life.
24 Now therefore, son, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.
25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways. Do not go astray in her paths,
26 for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.
27 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death. — Proverbs 7 | New Heart English Bible (NHEB) The New Heart English Bible is in the public domain Cross References: Genesis 3:1; Genesis 39:7; Genesis 42:35; Leviticus 7:11; Deuteronomy 32:10; Judges 5:28; Job 24:15; Psalm 59:3; Proverbs 1:22; Proverbs 2:1; Proverbs 2:16; Proverbs 5:3; Proverbs 5:7-8; Proverbs 6:24; Proverbs 6:26; Proverbs 6:32; Proverbs 9:14; Proverbs 9:18; Proverbs 31:22; John 19:39; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 2 Corinthians 3:3; 1 Timothy 2:9; 1 Timothy 5:13

The ongoing battle against avoiding sin
The ongoing battle against avoiding sin
Although believers are victorious in Messiah, the reality of living for him is a real conflict every day. Matthew 5:29 – “If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into Gehenna. Yeshua is speaking here of the extreme vigilance with which we must guard our spiritual…

PROVERBS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 7
Tuesday, 2/21/23
SCRIPTURE:
So she seduced him with her pretty speech and enticed him with her flattery.
He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter.
He was like a stag caught in a trap, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart.
He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life.
~ Proverbs 7:21-23
OBSERVATION:
Sin usually entices and seduces with pretty speech…
…slowly… one word or image at a time…
Snares and traps are not meant to be seen “until it’s too late…”
How often have I been the “dumb ox” led into temptation one step at time…
…or flown full blown into something, not paying attention…
…or paying attention but thinking I can out maneuver the enemy on my own…
APPLICATION:
Always treasure His commands (v. 1)
Follow Him…
Don’t wander down the wayward path (v. 25)
PRAYER:
(Praying verses 24 and 25)
Saving Father God~ Forgive me fo not listening to or paying attention to Your Words… for allowing my heart and mind to stray, for wandering from the path, the Way, set out by Jesus.  May Your Holy Spirit continue guiding me back from the snare laden sidetracks that would entangle me… In Jesus’s Name, and for Your glory always…
Yours always, in Him…

The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline. [Ps. 111:10.]

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

"Beware of What 'SEEMS' Right!"
Proverbs 16:25, “Sometimes what SEEMS right is really a road to death.” (CEV) “Seems” is defined as “to give the impression of being; appear; feels like; or comes across as“) In other words, it’s not a fact or the truth, just an impression or appearance. Two other versions say it like this: Proverbs 16:25, “Some people THINK they are doing right, but in the end it leads to death.” (NCV); and…
