There will be a continued divide, as long as there’s doubt in the self. While others can be inspiring agents, the self is what decides matters. The self, not others, is the ultimate authority, even if its authority is lackadaisical. Through confidence one decides; the alternative to confidence is faith, which exists in the absence of evidence. Whether it be respect or esteem, the psychological state should be the same; certainty to lead, certainty to inspire, certainty to educate, and certainty to reflect on one’s decisions & learn from one’s mistakes.
