Ah, yes... the old excuse of ‘Félix doesn’t have good chemistry with Marinette’. As someone who has written a 26+ chapters story with the setting in the Ladybug PV Universe, I have to say that I have never encountered any problems where it was “impossible” for me to write Félix and Bridgette’s dynamics without creating bad chemistry between them.
Although, maybe it’s because I’m using a very special and very unique writing technique known as - character development.
Honestly, the more I think about Miraculous Ladybug and its characters, the more I think that the only reason they decided to make Adrien a Nice Guy is because they couldn’t bother writing some actual character development for him and instead decided to just hand him everything he wants on a silver platter. After all, isn’t it easier when your character already is super cool and super special and has just the right amount of trauma to make people sympathize with him in order to let him get away with literal murder (on multiple occasions!)?
To me, Adrien is a very one-dimensional and bland character who has no progress aside from flipping an internal switch and no life aside from obsessing over a girl. Take away his role as Cat Noir and him being Gabriel Agreste’s (the main villain) son, and there is really nothing that makes him appealing nor interesting as a character. Even if he is given an opportunity to develop as a character, he whines until the universe bends backwards to reward him without doing anything to deserve it.
It is also hilarious how they brought back Félix to be the one to actually progress the plot instead of letting either of the main characters figure out that Gabriel is Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch, because they need to focus on unnecessary drama instead of actual story progression.
Seriously, this screams “We couldn’t bother to put effort into writing Félix, so we gave up”.

The original Gabrinath. Adoni (Nathalie) loved Richard (PV Gabriel) but wasn't allowed to show her feelings. Even if it's beta Nathalie, I imagine Adoni's personality a little different. She might be more charismatic and manipulative, although she's cold.

BRIDGETTE: SCARLET DANCER ERA
ML AU PT.3
When Bridgette was 16, she was given the ladybug miraculous from Sabine. Sabine told her she herself wasn't in the condition to wear it anymore, and that it was safer with Bri. Sabine didn't explicitly tell her daughter to take up the responsibilities of Ladybug, but began to be her mentor and train her when Bridgette expressed an interest to protect the city.
Deciding against keeping it a secret from Marinette, Bridgette confided in her little sister since they shared a room and Mari would get suspicious eventually. Tikki grew fond of both girls and stayed a member of the family- hanging out with the four at meals and other home family activities.
Felix was gifted the Black Cat miraculous from his mother Amelie, and kept it secret from everyone else in his extended family while she trained him.
Felix and Bridgette were partners, going by the names of "Tuxedo" and "Scarlet Dancer". No other miraculous holders joined them in their time, but the two helped out with crimes and helped everyday civilians out in this quiet peace.
Tuxedo was a more serious Chat Noir, and served as the reasonable and pragmatic one. He did have a sense of humor, and was often laughing when around the more joking and carefree Scarlet Dancer. The two had feelings for one another, Ladybug taking a liking to Chat first soon after meeting, and Chat beginning to grow fond of her after a while. They never told each other how they felt during this time.
Around a year and a half in of the current Ladybug and Chat Noir, Emilie's health declined, and she fell into a coma. This spurs Gabriel's reluctant transformation into Hawkmoth.
Hawkmoth sets an akuma in the beginning of the day to wander around itself in search of a vulnerable enough host, so he doesn't really know when an akuma attack will begin. (It's also his way of trying to lessen the guilt of subjecting innocents in this- but the guilt still hits hard).
Using the broken brooch alongside the overwhelming power from Null drains Gabriel very easily, causing him to grow gradually weaker the more he uses the miraculous.
As akuma attacks begin, Bridgette and Felix are in unfamiliar territory that even their mentors are unsure about.
Tikki teaches Bridgette how to purify akumas, and the more enemies they fight, the more Tikki notices similarities in their powers and mannerisms to that of old fae friends that she had known in eras past. Tikki concludes that these strange akumas are not just the work of the butterfly miraculous, but Null as well- and that he's the one fusing akumas with the powers and fae he's absorbed. Purifying the akuma causes the faerie's spirit to pass on.
There is no miraculous ladybug cure, but when a faerie's spirit passes on, its energy undos any physical damages the akuma itself caused to the city.
As the attacks seem to get more dangerous, Sabine pleads with her daughter to stop, but Bridgette refuses- knowing that she needs to save the city and be there for her partner.
This routine goes on for months, until an especially dangerous akuma comes into play. This battle lasts two days until Ladybug was able to purify the akuma- but not without a cost.
Felix's legs were badly hurt in the battle, and Bridgette hoped purifying the akuma would heal his wounds but it didn't. He asks her to take him to a specific alleyway, where Scarlet cries and apologizes and Tuxedo promises her they'll be okay. But he says that she has to go or else she'll see who he is, and convinces her to leave. When she's gone, he calls Amelie to pick him up and tells her what happens when she arrives.
When Bridgette comes home, she gives Tikki the earrings and tells the fae to find a more suitable holder. Tikki objects, but Bri is adamant that she has failed and let her partner get hurt. She refuses to take the earrings back, and only begins to cry again when Tikki has flown out the window with the earrings. Marinette comes home to her crying, and listens to what happened, and sits with Bri through the night.
Tikki, unsure of where to go and reluctant to leave the only family she's known for centuries, hides in the cluttered attic and ponders what to do.
Felix is hospitalized and is told that he is paralyzed in both of his legs from the injury. Realizing he can no longer be Chat Noir, Felix gives the ring to Adrien hours later when he comes to visit and asks him if he'd take on the responsibility- or at the very least return the ring back to Amelie at a later date if Adrien chooses not to. His young cousin talks with him and finally decides to keep the ring, introducing himself to Plagg and letting Felix and the faerie say a proper goodbye before he leaves.
When Gabriel learns of Felix's injury that is too close to Chat Noir's injury, he puts the two together and falls into a bad state. Refusing to send out more akumas because of what he's done to hurt his nephew, Gabriel calls off the deal with Null, telling him to release Nooroo and find another to do his bidding. But Null refuses.
From using the broken miraculous, Null's power, and emotional grief, Gabriel is extremely vulnerable. Using this as an opportunity, Null uses the powers of multiple faeries and takes control of Gabriel's body.
Null visits Felix in the hospital, looking out for the ring but sees nothing. Felix quickly suspects something is wrong with his uncle and calls Amelie when Null leaves.
Amelie, who is with Adrien at this time since he came right to her after his visit to Felix to see Amelie as his mentor, hangs up the call and asks her nephew if Gabriel has been acting differently recently. Adrien tells her about how he's been really tired, but he's always tried to spend time with him when he could like usual so he'd just been chalking it up to work.
Amelie knows there's more they don't know, but until they know exactly what- advises Adrien to be careful. Knowing well how to hide things from her own ex kingpin father growing up, she gives him pointers on how to hide Plagg and the ring well and sneak around. With promises to visit often and do his best, Adrien goes home, leaving Amelie worried for all members of her family.

Miraville au
This is a seriously small post about the au I’m currently in the process of writing :D
The core basis of it, as explained in Branches of a timeline, is that this is a universe where the miraculi and magic have never existed. So all effects of them are not present in this au.
Disclaimer: it's long, it's a mess. Hope you will enjoy it because I'm slowly descending into MADNESS
Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Marinette is the one who will be affected by the last echoes of the previous “corrupted” universe, as she was the last person who was so close to the cause. She is no longer Ladybug, which means that she has a lot more time to pursue the things she loves, which are baking and drawing. She lives in a smaller town, Miraville, in the French countryside, where this whole story is set. She has a little brother (Theodore, 8 y.o.) and lives with her parents who work respectively in a boring office job (Tom, who after failing to open a bakery became basically an engineer out of spite for his father) and in a local coffee shop (Sabine, who met with Tom when working for his father's boulangerie). They have a dog, named Tikki, she's a small wire hair fox terrier. Alya has been one of her best friends throughout elementary school but left for Paris when they started middle school, as of now her best friend is Alix. She is part of the drama club, usually volunteering as a costume maker.
Adrien Grassette
Adrien is... a bit wilder. Due to the fact that miraculous powers are non-existent in this universe, he has been conceived through IVF, but due to many failed attempts and the time for visits, consultation, testing, and everything, Adrien is actually born later than Marinette, and is actually Theo's age, so 8 y.o. In this story, the long and tiring process of Emily trying to conceive and the almost inhumanly controlling way she tries to raise her son make Gabriel, with the help of Nathalie, realize how much he despises the woman and he divorces her, taking full custody of their child. Gabriel then sells his firm and leaves behind his public life to raise his son in Miraville.
Nino Lahiffe
Nino is Marinette's childhood best friend, alongside Kim, since their mothers were extremely close when they were kids due to them being foreigners. Stereotypically normal boy, he's passionate about electronic music, basketball, and football, and occasionally likes to skate with Alix. He's up to date with the most recent anime and manga, and is an avid Nintendo fan. He had a crush on Marinette for a little more than a year in middle school, but never got around to confess. He's in the school football club with Kim.
Alix Kubdel
Marinette's bestfriend. She has let her hair grow longer because she planned on dying it all baby blue, but never got around to it because she loves her pink hair. Hyperactive, she's dyslexic, and is terrible in school, apart from History and Art. Her father is a history teacher in her same high school and her brother is studying to become a researcher on ancient languages. Her mother died when she was seven, and she was a very talented harp player. Alix had a crush on Kim for a long time, which was obvious to anyone, but she distanced herself from him the moment he got into a relationship. She frequently hangs out at a nearby abandoned factory with her other friends. She's really passionate about time traveling and sci-fi and has watched Interstellar and Back to the Future at least a thousand times.
Lila Rougier
Lila is in this story, not as cartoonishly evil as in the canon. She has moved to the town halfway through elementary school and has been close friends with everyone ever since. She is not as much of a compulsive liar, although she definitely lies occasionally to get what she wants. Ever since she started getting asked out a lot, she became obsessed with becoming popular. She's kind of a pick-me girl, however, she is, at least at the start, not targeting Marinette, who she considers a good friend. She's part of the journalism club of their school.
Kim Le Chien
Kim is his stereotypical self. Jock, buff, however he's less idiotic than in canon, since Marinette, who sees him like a brother, has always metaphorically rapped him on the knuckles to teach him respect and empathy. He has a repressed crush on Alix that he won't ever admit, especially since he's in a relationship now. He was raised by a single mother and gets tutored by Marinette frequently on maths so as not to disappoint her. Despite her help, however, he's dumb as a rock and very protective towards his friends, which almost always sometimes results in him getting in real trouble.
Sabrina Raincomprix
She's very similar, personality-wise, to her canon character. She's very shy and kind, usually letting people put their feet on her head. She's been friends with everyone forever, and everyone is worried for her since she always puts herself on the line for everyone. Her mother is a nurse and her father is the chief of police, making her a well-known member of the community. She's a devout Christian and is involved in the local church charity. Kids not in their friend group frequently make fun of and bully her, but usually, Lila, Alix, and Marinette help her deal with them.
Luka Couffaine
He's not from Miraville, but from another town nearby, where his mother has a musical instrument shop. He and his sister go to the same school (Joan d'Arc lyceé) as the others, but they're a year older than them. He's in a small rock boy band (called the Miracles) and sometimes hangs out at the abandoned factory. His sister is in a relationship with Rose, who lives in Paris and is actually stuck in the hospital due to her condition, and he occasionally calls them his "Marceline and Princess Bubblegum". He knows that he's Jagged Stone's son, but he never got to meet him or to ask him.
Chloe Bourgeoise
She's a very interesting character. She's not as needlessly bratty as canon, but she has her reasons to be a pain in the ass. Her parents are divorced and they're too busy fighting to discipline her and her half-sister. Audrey's brand failed the moment the Gabriel brand stopped helping it, and André is always moving around to shoot his (very poorly written and executed) movies. She and Zoé love each other deep down, but they fight a lot. Due to one of their fights, which a teacher mistook for bullying, her parents decided to send her away from Paris to live for a while with her rich grandma, her father's mother, who is incredibly disappointed (to say the least) of her son's antics and how Chloe was raised. She's not a spoiled brat, but she definitely has a problem controlling her anger. Might fight with her friends for anything, but would shoot anyone who dared hurt them.
Felix Sphynx
I couldn't stop myself from actually writing about my boi. He is a very stoic individual: he's described as basically emotionless by all his close friends. He never laughs at their jokes or gets angry about anything, and he's been like this ever since his mother died. His mother (Marianne Lavigne) was almost his carbon copy, being very cold and composed, only ever opening up to his father, (Cesar is actually very lively and bright) who is unable to understand how to help him break out of his shell. His mother was a French and Italian literature teacher and his father is an ophthalmologist. He went to the same kindergarten as Marinette and the others but went to a private school throughout elementary and middle school to be closer to his mother, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness and needed frequent hospitalization. He decided to return to public school since all his friends would attend Joan d'Arc lyceé. He's smart and brilliant, on the school chess team, and always aces his classes. He's very fond of cats: he has a beautiful ragdoll cat named Seraphine and has recently adopted a young black stray that would always follow him home, and called him Plagg as Claude suggested.
Allan Rey
Has been friends with Felix since elementary school. He's the son of the mayor of Miraville, and is an avid football fan, being in the school team alongside Kim and Nino. He's very loyal and extremely charming. He's Allegra's boyfriend since last year, and has heart eyes every time he's around her. His best friend is Claude.
Claude Daniel
Allan's best friend. The oldest of three brothers, he's very energetic and lively. He's passionate about magic tricks and would like to become an illusionist as an adult, but he knows that he will likely have to inherit the family's farm. He loves gossiping with Allegra, who shares his passion for sticking his nose in other people's business. He has a small crush on Allan that he will never confess so as to not ruin their friendship. He is part of the school drama club.
Allegra Gardinier
She's Allan and Felix's middle school classmate. She comes from a family of lawyers and has lived with her father ever since they divorced. She's an equestrian, is part of the school band as a flute player, and lives in an old family villa on the richest side of town.
The rest of the sentikids never existed in this world, and most of the other characters not mentioned here currently live in Paris. Honestly, this is self-indulgent as FUCK and at the same time the best way to try and make sense of all the shit that happened in canon in a world where magic doesn't exist. Maybe I'll get around to explaining a lot better every character, or perhaps I'll just write it who knows. Let me know what you think!
EDIT: I did not know that canonically, Kim has 2 dads, which is amazing, so I'll implement that in there.

If this scene is the Finale of PV!Ladybug...
…then we have a confirmation that in an universe where PV!Ladybug happened, Félix as Chat Noir was part of the final battle against Papillon.
Somehow, a 3 minute PV!Trailer delivers more than the actual Miraculous Ladybug show.

Felix Fathom - The Worst Miraculous Character?
So, I think it's public knowledge by now that I hate Canon Felix. There are characters such as Marinette, Chloe, and Even Lila that I can try to comprehend why they have fans (I am a Sabrina fan, after all, even if I am aware her arc wasn't exactly well done).
However, Felix is a character that is so badly handled by the show, and it's problematic in so many levels, that I have no idea of how he became popular.
I could just say that his mentality of "Anyone who isn't a sentimonster must die" is a huge problem which doesn't get acknowleged. Or that he didn't actually get redeemed, but just started controlling his impulses to please Kagami.
But I know that his stans would complain about me. So, I am going to make a full analysis of all he did across the series.
(Also, the fact @booksrbetterthanpeople , @nerdy-chocomallow , @msweebyness and @imsparky2002 are making a "Class Worst Moments with Felix gave me the courage to finally analyze his behavior)
Side Note: I don't judge those who like PV!Felix, Fanon Felix, or Felix Culpa. They are different takes on the idea of Adrien's cousin/twin/beta version than what Canon Felix is.
______________________________________
Felix - The Episode
Felix's introduction already tells us a lot about him:
We know he and Adrien look identical (and that they played together a lot as kids).
He isn't as playful or joyful as his cousin.
He feels resentful and the Agrestes.
However, since the focus is on Amelie and Gabriel's unresolved problems related to the Graham's Twin Rings, Felix barely has the chance of talking.
The next scene with Felix is him and Adrien spending time together. And we finally understand why Felix is angry at Adrien: He didn't come to visit him at his father's funeral.
Which, spoiler warning, feels very weird considering Felix hated his father and was probably glad he died. Even worse is how insensitive he is to Adrien's own issues, since the boy isn't allowed to do anything.
When the two seem to finally make up, it is all revealed to be Felix's secret plan to ruin Adrien's reputation...
The scene where Felix watches the videos that were made for Adrien, however, shows us new info about him. It shows how good he is at analyzing people, but it also shows us how he is judgemental, and how he sees everyone as ridiculous or silly.
It gets even worse when Felix acts very pushy towards Adrien so the girl whom he knows his cousin is crushing on has a negative view on him.
Then, he shows to be completely okay with helping a terrorist so he can get what he wants.
Then, the episode ends with a fake apology, and Amelie's excuse of Felix's rebellious behavior being a result of his grief towards his father's loss... only for him to steal Gabriel's ring soon after.
Now, a few comments:
Felix, in this episode, is shown to be arrogant, selfish, envious, resentful, cunning, and vengeful.
He is also shown to be able to analyze people.
The excuse the writers give us is that is all part of his grieving process... which is very bad, considering how it is shown in season 5 that Felix and Colt didn't get along well and Felix resented him.
Which means that Amelie's speech could mean 4 things.
The writers hadn't come up with Colt's personality yet.
Two, Amelie considered Colt's abusive parenting method as something good because it kept "Felix on Line."
Three, Amelie wasn't aware of Colt's behavior, or was so used to how she was raised, that she saw no problem with how her husband handled Felix.
Still, that episode is not the worst Felix has done yet. But, it contradicts everything the character does moving forward.
It does make sense, however, for Felix to be so envious, considering the emotion he was made from was Colt's envy towards Gabriel and Emelie.
_____________________________
Gabriel Agreste - The Episode as Well
Unlike his debut, Felix doesn't have much importance here. Mostly cause this episode is full of Love Square nonsense, the class being so bored with their lives that they decide to meddle on Marinette's love life (and drag poor Zoe to it), and Gabriel's plans on getting the ring back.
Still, this episode gives us hints that Felix is planning something. Especially when he tries to interact with Emilie's portraits (which us, as fans, know that is where Gabriel hides a lot of his secrets), the way he rejects Shadow Moth's help, and how he tears Sentigabriel's pants.
Now, for the commentary part:
This episode shows that Felix knows more about the miraculous than the regular civilian. He knows that Gabriel is capable of making copies of himself with the peacock.
It also shows that Felix is way smarter than our main duo. He suspects Gabriel is Shadow Moth and suspects there is something mysterious about the portrait.
It shows that you need more than money to win Felix's respect (since he acts very rudely towards Kagami and Chloe).
_____________________________
Risk
Felix first scene on this episode is him promising to help Adrien freeing himself from his father's control...
However, us, fans who watched the episode already, know that's not the case.
Felix's main goal is to get confirmation that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth.
And he ends up finding out his aunt's dead body on the basement... does he tell Adrien about it? No, of course he doesn't. But, that's a topic for later.
His disguise as Adrien was so convincing, that he managed to get his hands on the dog miraculous.
And here, Felix finds out about the power of the rabbit miraculous. The only miraculous that the Parisians didn't know yet... this will be important for my argument down the line.
And this scene here is where we finally understood Felix's ideology: "Humans have mistreated Sentibeings for way too long! They all deserve to perish, as we, sentibeings, make this world our own"
...
In one hand, I understand Felix's frustration at what the sentimonsters go through, but, on the other... what else did he expect Ladybug and her team to do? Strikeback was unbeatable, destroying the town, and, by that point, they were all so used to seeing sentimonsters getting materialized and dissipated, that they had no idea of how they worked.
But, I will talk more about it later.
Then, we have this scene here... were Felix gives Gabriel all of the miraculi of the chinese box, Adrien's ring, and leaves the scene as if he did nothing...
Nothing that he did here was necessary.
And before you guys tell me: "But FC, he only wanted him and Adrien to be safe from Gabriel's power of vanishing any sentimonster", I will tell you, HE DID NOT HAVE TO DO THAT.
So, I will make a list below of everything Felix could have done:
1- Used the Rabbit and Bee Miraculi to ambush Gabriel when he least expected:
As I stated before, Felix knew how the rabbit's miraculous powers worked. He knew that it gave the holder time travel.
And he KNEW that a holder can use more than one miraculous at a time.
Since Felix probably researched a lot about the topic before, he must have known what the bee's miraculous properties could do. Queen Bee showed off a lot during her time as a heroine, and she got publicly akumatized. There is no way he didn't know the bee's powers.
All he had to do was unify Fluff and Pollen, ambushing Gabriel at the start of season 4, and he would have the Butterfly, the Peacock, and the other twin ring.
Before you ask me about Bunnix, Felix had no reason to know she would be there (she wasn't when Pennybug showed the inside of Burrow to him).
But, if you are dissatisfied with this plan, I had others.
2- Use the Horse and the Bee Miraculi to ambush Gabriel:
Instead of Felix using the rabbit, he could have easily hidden somewhere, stolen Ladybug's yo-yo, grabbed the horse miraculous (which he has also seen in action), travelled to London, put all of the miraculi somewhere safe, unified Pollen and Kaalki, and ambushed Gabriel from behind.
Once again, he would have gotten the peacock miraculous, the butterfly miraculous, the other twin ring, and he would now have all of the chinese box at his service for his next plans.
If you are still not satsified, there is another plan he could have done.
3- Give just the Dog, or the least threatening miraculi:
Gabriel didn't know how many miraculi Felix had access to.
Felix could have easily stolen Ladybug's yo-yo, used the horse like on the last plan, but choose less threatening miraculi (he could have forced the kwamis to tell him their powers), and he would have still gotten the peacock brooch, and his terrorist uncle wouldn't have the power of time travel, making other heroes useless, paralyzing or turning invisble.
Or, as I said, he could have just given the dog. A miraculous for a miraculous. Gabriel was so desperate that he would have accepted any.
But not, Felix did none of the above. He simply went to his terrorist uncle, gave him the most powerful artifacts known to human kind and left.
Part of it for plot convenience? Definetely, but, if there is something Felix's preview episodes showed, Felix likes to cause chaos.
He enjoyed ruining Adrien's reputation, he enjoyed causing problems at Gabriel's party, and he will enjoy causing moren problems on season 5.
Felix is an agent of chaos, he only cares about his goals, and tormentating humanity.
The only ones he feels empathy are other sentimonsters, and even then it's questionable considering how he has treated Adrien until now.
And before you guys tell me about how it's all due to his trauma, yes, I understand he had a terrible life... but so did Adrien, Zoe and Kagami. And yet, none of them went as far as he did.
And, maybe, if Felix faced the consequences for his actions (losing the peacock miraculous, being sent to some form of teen jail, or a punishment given by Su-han), maybe I would have been able of forgiving him... but he doesn't.
Even after everything he has done, even after he erased humanity, given weapons to a terrorist, even after he has shown to not be stable or trust-worthy... he got a girlfriend, kept his miraculous, and is somehow a part of the Miraculers.
I am not a Chloe Stan, but... she did way less and was sent to live with her abusive mother, lost her miraculous, and is considered the abslolute evil opf the series.
And even if she only had a few moments of kindness... it was more than Felix, who only helped people when it was convenient to him or somehow made a part of his plan...
But, that's for the part 2 of the analysis...

Which is your most hated character in Miraculous Ladybug?
I wouldn't say hate so much as strongly dislike, as it takes a lot for me to outright loathe a fictional character. More often than not, I have better things to spend my energy on than hating a fictional character.
But if I were to answer that, five take the top spot:
1.) Lila Rossi
I know. Surprising, isn't it. Well, it's all fun and games until you actually meet one in real life. And it's frustrating as hell getting those with the wool over their eyes to listen until it's too late. I have to emphasize that it wasn't originally part of the plan to redeem her in the early drafts. It was thanks to Rafe that I even considered doing a Lila redemption.
Lila had a lot of potential in the early seasons. Of course, that was before she was turned into a one-dimensional villain with little in the way of making her interesting. It says something that I got the feeling the showrunners were trying to make her hateable without actually putting in the effort while reading the Chameleon transcripts. (I had to stop reading to settle my blood pressure)
All in all, Lila is just a symptom of a bigger underlying issue regarding the show's writing. I personally think she has a very nice design, but it looks better in 2D than 3D.
2.) Gabriel Agreste
He's a severely underwhelming main villain. At the start, he had potential. But as the series drags on, it's become painfully clear that the showrunners don't actually know how to make a compelling main villain. He was surprisingly much more intimidating and better-designed in the pilot PV.
Gabriel also lacks the charisma you would find with iconic main villains such as Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, the rogues gallery in the first Powerpuff Girls, Batman's rogues gallery, and so on. I could make a whole post about how to write Gabriel better, but I don't feel like resurrecting a dead horse.
3.) Adrien Agreste
The poster boy for wasted potential. When Rafe and I first started watching Miraculous Ladybug, Season 2 hadn't been released yet. He was nice, if a bit bland. Could have used some flavorblasting in both design and personality (he's a fashion model, for crying out loud. Where's his fabulous wardrobe?)
And then all the red flags in Seasons 3-5 started popping up.
As it stands, he's nothing more than a plot device to humiliate poor Marinette. And a mouthpiece for the writers' very skewed morality. We weren't going to redeem him at first, but then it occurred to me a fantastic way to strike a devastating blow against Gabriel. I won't say anything more since they're spoilers.
4.) Alya Césaire
Ohhhh boy. Where do I even begin with this one? Disregarding the racism allegations towards the writers regarding her character, Alya is just an awful best friend, plain and simple. While it's true that she's a go-getter who isn't afraid to go for what she wants, that same trait has pretty much been solidified into a toxic trait courtesy of her refusal to question Lila later in the show. Even after Marinette broke down in front of her and confessed her secret identity in Gang of Secrets.
I will forever hate that episode just for how entitled everyone was about Marinette's secrets.
When Rafe and I were brainstorming who to use as our civilian antagonist to fill in for Lila, it was rather telling that Alya was among our first choices. It wasn't our intention for her to fall as hard as she did in The Wolves in the Woods, but honestly? It was inevitable.
5.) Caline Bustier
She's a non-authority figure who coddles the troublemakers in her class. I'm restraining myself at the moment because I've had teachers just like her in real life. Who look good on paper and are the sweetest people on the outside. But their inability to discipline a class regardless of behavior does a lot more damage in the long run than many would care to admit.
Bustier is a character who I could have grown to understand if the writers handled her better. The biggest brat of the school is the daughter of the city mayor. That right there is a beautiful setup for interesting conflict. We could have gotten a plot where we had a good, caring teacher trapped in a terrible situation by her superiors. Which is unfortunately something that can and does happen in real life. Instead, we got an airhead who can't for the life of her understand this simple thing called nuance.
I find it very telling the fandom prefers Mendeleiev over her.
Honorable Mentions:
Principal Damocles: Too much of a spineless noncharacter to really care about
Tom and Sabine: I try to understand the parents' side of things given parenting is far from an easy task
Bustier's class: A mixed bag here, since I don't think they're necessarily bad kids
Mayor Bourgeois: Again, another mixed bag here since he's another spineless "parent"
Zoé Lee: Too much of a blank slate to have an opinion on
Félix Fathom: What kind of a name is that?
Master Fu: He was done so dirty in his backstory
Chloé Bourgeois: Another with wasted potential

Here's the thing, Felix is problematic yes but I didn't mind it??? It even made his character more interesting to me???
Some of it (like him trying to kiss ladybug) was just ew, but most of it was amazing??? He's basically the curious cat Adrian was supposed to be. Since he entered the story and stirred the pot, the show has been pushed forward so much!!!
He found out about everything happening in the Agreste mansion, was deeply horrified by most of it and at the end made a deeply selfish decision that benefits him. He then used his miraculous to go on a fucking power trip with a dance number to boot. And he's the fanon favorite to pit against any character as a competent, smart and classy opponent, no Lila dumb down magic or Chloe daddy's influence required.
He's awful but he's fun awful.
He is!
I have watched some clips of him, really only his intro ep, and yeah, he was really fun. it was the first time in a while I was having a blast watching a character on this show. I do think part of it is that he's the official first "mean boy" to come in, as a lot of the guys are sweet and charming, they do have their moments but it's not usually acknowledged to be an issue. Felix immediately sets that tone though of being an antagonist and not supposed to like him (which he's such a breath of fresh air, he was pretty enjoyable as a character).
Yeah, I wasn't crazy about him trying to kiss Ladybug without consent, but unfortunately that's something we just can't get away from given that Chat does try to move to kiss LB without consent, it's probably something Felix did in the PV days, and it's something older concept Marinette has tried to do as well.
But yeah, he also progressed things that no one has been able to do in 4 seasons, specifically Adrien who lives with the show's villain and discovered a Miraculous related book but never questions it. Come on, Adrien, what are you doing with your life?
So Felix progressing things was appreciated.
But there were a few things I didn't like.
One was canon Felix bringing in the concept of the feather babies, I really don't like the concept of the sentikids, especially with how they went about it. Given that Emilie we knew for sure was the only one using the Peafowl to make sentis, for a period of time, I was actually afraid of the possibility that Adrien and Kagami were going to technically be siblings as they came from the same creator. Also I got the impression that Emilie made herself twins, picked her favorite of the two, and passed the other onto her sister.
With nothing being clear on the feather babies for a while, there was so much "I don't like this" I was feeling.
Two were his actions in the s4 finale. Now, I didn't watch it, it's just based on what I've heard, which didn't include anything of his reasoning (if it was even given), but I felt it really clashed against Felix based around his first few eps, and defining him as a smart, clever character.
So Felix is defined by having a dislike of Gabriel, which is understandable given that Gabriel is an ass, didn't attend his brother-in-law's funeral and show support to extended family, and refused to hand back the family heirlooms that it sounds like Emilie just took and made to be their wedding rings. And then Felix finds out that Gabriel is HM, who threatens Felix and his family.
So, defining Felix to be smart and disliking Gabriel, does he:
A. Approach Ladybug/the heroes about this, as the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and it could be a quick way of getting Gabriel handled, or Felix could potentially get a Miraculous out of this given Ladybug has a record of handing out Miraculous and she gave one to freaking Chloe of all people despite nearly causing a train accident.
B. Make a very stupidly reckless deal with Gabriel, trading 15 Miraculous that he probably has limited knowledge on what they can do over for 1, which Gabriel will know he has, and just hold faith that Gabriel will not come after Felix with his 16 Miraculous to reclaim the one that is pretty OP and useful and he knows where it's located.
Hearing that Felix does B was very baffling. Especially as he does this after Gabriel has threatened him and has a magical jewelry to power him and have an edge over Felix, what Felix logically should do is find his own Miraculous ally or get a means to have a Miraculous himself to even the odds.
His best bet is with Ladybug, which I will say, she probably wouldn't trust him, but she's the safer option than believing he can make a deal with Gabriel and believing that Gabriel will keep his word. Which I know it seems like Gabriel catches Felix when he tries to steal the two brooches, which if that's when a deal was made, I would probably vote having Felix act as a double agent. Ease in the idea that he's going to help the heroes, but right now, the villain has a literal blade over his head.
Also, I feel like his actions done in the s4 finale, make a lot more sense if it was Lila. Lila who actually has a grudge against Ladybug and works with HM. It would be in her own interest to get HM those Miraculous, not Felix.
While I don't get the impression Felix has a grudge/dislikes Ladybug, even if he did, it just doesn't make sense for him to help Gabriel over her when she could be his greatest ally against his uncle.
I think he was a great and needed inclusion the first few eps, but s4 fianle and from what I hear s5, he wound up dropping the ball as a character. At least for me.

julian.
julian everett agreste (he/him)
adrien's little brother
nothing at all like him even a little bit
except for the daddy issues lol
kind of rough around the edges, doesn't smile often, looks a little scary
(turns into a puppy around his friends lol)
fake blond (hc that gabe had brown hair before it all went white lol)
none of us were really expecting him to ever get used to manual labour because he's a model and has never worked like that a day in his life but he loves the physical tasks in the bakery (ex. unloading trucks, kneading doughs, mixing ingredients, etc.) and literally begs to work there completely for free
had really long, shaggy hair (like to his shoulders) before gabriel made him cut it- now it's shaved on the sides, and blond and curly on top
despite having to be the one to act in a protective role to adrien, he does still answer to adrien most of the time and craves his older brother's approval- this goes double for felix, who is not the canon version of felix, but the pv version in this DR (separate post on him later)

How many Felixes are there in the Lady Bug universe?! What is the difference between Felix Agreste from Lady Bug PV and Felix Sphinx? did they have different characters and personalities? How are they different and how are they similar? Was Felix always a morally gray character (anti-hero/anti-villain) or is there still a version where he was an antagonist, sociopath or Marinette's arch rival?
LOl ok slow down.
Maybe in mini-menace there might have been a rivalry. Chat is only present in one cover, and another cover where he is implied to be hunting ladybug via the black cat and ladybug.
However, My favorite idea is that chat noir may be the detective investigating Ladybug for her vigilantism and/or involvement in the gang involved in the murder of her parents.
Since then, Chat noir was always designed to be her partner.
even if that "partnership" is less than ideal on Marinette's (Or Nathan, as I like to call this version of Chat) part. This dynamic was phased out pretty quickly, about the end of the QK phase of development.
There is no "Felix Agreste" the PV "Felix" is actually Adrien Nanty. (Felix Nanty, if you want to stick the felix name.) His father was actually a hotel baron (think chloe's dad sans the mayorship) and his mother was present and doting, especially due to his disability. (That whole narrative is really ableist and deserves its own breakdown) And he's actually quite sweet, as depicted in a ton of the bibles as thinking fondly of Marinette and turning to her for advice quite frequently. He's also depicted as wanting to be a doctor, so he funnels all his free time into studying. (Which is most likely what he was doing in the library during PV)
Not to say that his name was never "Felix", because it was. But by the time PV rolled around, his name had been changed to Adrien.
Felix Sphinx is the idea that If Adrien -> Gabriel, than Felix -> Richard. And Richard Sphinx -> Felix Sphinx. He's an interesting villain who fills that shitty father role way better than Gabriel. (who was actually really pompous and silly in his first incarnation after they phased out Richard)

How many Felixes are there in the Lady Bug universe?
One at a time. Be it Nathan, Adrien, or Felix himself. The character went through tons of development. Felix Fathom is not a "Felix" because he is not Chat Noir. He is a new character, original to the series like Kagami and Luka.
What is the difference between Felix Agreste from Lady Bug PV and Felix Sphinx?
Agreste's dad is Gabriel, Sphinx' Dad is Richard Sphinx. PV Felix' parents are not shown, but it is most likely he is Adrien Nanty, who's parents are alive, not evil, and own a hotel. However, since the identity of Papillon is kept a mystery in all media (including Canon for a time) it is possible that pv Felix is Sphinx. But the characters are similar enough that it could be interchangeable. Who knows.
did they have different characters and personalities? How are they different and how are they similar?
Yes. But not in the way you think. Nanty and Sphinx liked Marinette. Nathan found her annoying. Adrien did not have an opinion on her for a long time- (esp if we are to base it all on episode 1/introducing the characters, Adrien was indifferent and distant)
Was Felix always a morally gray character (anti-hero/anti-villain) or is there still a version where he was an antagonist, sociopath or Marinette's arch rival?
Err... Morally grey, maybe in QK stuff and canon. Where he aims for ladybugs affection instead of being a hero. Antagonist maybe in Mini Menace. But sociopath? Canon maybe. Adrien frequently throws tantrums and threatens people, is viciously jealous, and has threatened and blackmailed plagg at least three times (remember kuro neko where feeling left out > his relationship with Plagg) but, again, PV era Felix/Adrien isn't an asshole or a jerk. He just has teenage angst and suffers from the twilight sparkle disease of "stop studying, make some friends, and touch grass" jfc.
Look, I know people are super ride or die on "cursed ring needs a kiss" stuff but there is more evidence to the contrary. The artbook is a great resource, but it was made by another company, and the curse is never mentioned anywhere else. I don't doubt that there was a phase where they did consider it, but it vanished so quickly that it was mentioned only once and then disappeared. Yet nobody uses other details like.. him wanting to be a doctor... Or his boxing... Or him being super into art... Or even his love of BMX. Yeah.
Anyway. Hope this helps.
