So my partner and I decided to start dipping our toes into Genshin fanfiction while we recover our spark for The Wolves in the Woods, starting with a chapter where poor Neuvillette is not well.

Taraji had me in a choke hold until I drew her. I figured I may as well try something different in the meantime.

Well, it's not Twisted Wonderland without some mention of Overblot. A minor spoiler alert, someone in the named cast Overblots during the game. I won't say much until the writing is more solidified. But what leads to this particular Overblot? The lyrics pretty much say it all.

A test sample of the ending theme, after all is done. The AI vocalist this time is Yongye Minus. Angel Light sounds a little like angelite, a stone that is said to have soothing properties. I quite like the lyrics and melody to this one, so I'm hugely reluctant to actually try something different.

A test sample of the game's main theme featuring the AI vocalist Stardust. It's an anthem meant to brag about how awesome the students are, in AI-translated Japanese. I've tried studying the language, though it's admittedly a bit tough to grasp (I have massive respect for the people who learned and mastered it). I like the overall key and progression, though I may end up discarding this entirely for an English-language song instead.

A little video I made recording the overall design process. My goal was to create a distinctive yet customizable uniform not unlike Night Raven College's uniform.

Here's the final version of the design.

And a version of the uniform with pants. Just because it's a girl's school doesn't mean all the girls will enjoy wearing skirts. Especially if it's a student with focus on athletics.

The named characters in Magigranda.

Ione Spyros - twisted from the Spring Sprite from Fantasia's Firebird Suite. She is a first-year in Magigranda. A young plant Fae with insatiable curiosity, she's fascinated rather than repulsed by humans and seeks to learn more about them. As such, she idolizes the dorm's housewarden. She's quite impressionable.

Cordelia Severna - twisted from Chernobog from Fantasia's Night on Bald Mountain short. She is a second-year in Magigranda. The resident bitch queen of the school, Cordelia hails from a ducal family that has faithfully served the royal family of Briar Valley. Her engagement to Malleus was annulled after her family's corruption was exposed. Thus she deeply resents Leda for "stealing" her rightful place.

Ginneva "Ginnie" Verre - twisted from the Enchanted Mirror from Beauty and the Beast. She is a third-year in Magigranda. A global celebrity on par with Vil Schoenheit and Neige LeBlanc, Ginnie has stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her studies. She has the distinction of being Vil's ex. Also serves as the school's dance team captain.

Clarisse Amal - twisted from the Colorful and Black Triangles from Fantasia's Symphony No. 5 short. She is a second-year in Magigranda. Clarisse has the unfortunate position of being Cordelia's lady-in-waiting. A position she deeply resents and hates. Clarisse finds a small comfort in being friends with Leda's lady-in-waiting, Vardith.

The named characters in Hypnocreux

Jyoti Pomare - twisted from Gunpowder from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. She is a third-year in Hypnocreux. A pyromaniac who happens to be a talented equestrian, she's an anomaly even among the spooky Hypnocreux students. She's essentially the female third-year version of Floyd Leech. Funnily enough, despite the similarities, they're more likely to kill each other at first sight.

Rosanna Shroud - twisted from Hecate from Hercules: The Animated Series. She is a first-year in Hypnocreux. A rather mysterious girl hailing from the Shroud family, her very existence baffles Idia's classmates as he's never told them about a sister. Nonetheless, she manages to forge sincere friendships with Malleus, among others. She likes to hatch and raise butterflies.

Tirzah Ladouceur - twisted from Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. She is a first-year in Hypnocreux. Raised by ghosts since she was a baby, Tirzah has a rather warped moral compass. Despite her general spooky appearance and nature, she's actually quite harmless.

Urima Ka’uhane - twisted from the unnamed lifeguard from Lilo & Stitch. She is a third-year in Lanekema. Her chosen field is marine navigation technology. Doubling as the swim team captain, Urima has a no-nonsense approach to pool and sea safety. Her intolerance for idiocy leaves her with little patience for the squabbling between Sibua and Talei.

Eleu Akamai - twisted from Belle/Experiment 248 from Lilo & Stitch: The Series. She is a second-year in Lanekema. Her chosen field is communications technology. An avid cosplayer who loves attending all the cons, Eleu's casual breaking of nerd stereotypes drives many up the wall. Loud and extroverted, she loves dragging her new friend Idia to outings.

Rowena Trevor - twisted from Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. She is a second-year in Phaluverie. Growing up, Rowena wasn't shown much love by either parent, both of whom preferred her brother. While she does suffer from crippling depression as a result, she's found a solid support network. Her best friend is Rafia.

Pippa Leigh - twisted from Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. She is a first-year in Phaluverie. A new member of the Spelldrive team, Pippa has a talent for making the strangest friends. Highly energetic and friendly, Pippa is easy to befriend. But good luck keeping her attention for more than a few minutes.

The named characters in Sireciel.

Rafia Olivera - twisted from Gabriela from The Little Mermaid TV series. She is a second-year in Sireciel. Born deaf, she hasn't let her disability stop her from pursuing her love of dance. Originally from the Coral Sea, she was friends with Azul in his youth before he met the Leech twins. Her family, who also consider Azul another son, owns a restaurant that she works part-time in when school isn't in session. Her best friend is Rowena, a fellow second-year.

Scirocco Piovere - twisted from Vidia from the Tinkerbell movies. She is a third-year in Sireciel. A fast-flying Wind Fae who takes part in the Spelldrive team, she has little patience for her human peers. Despite her arrogance and self-assured superiority over humans, she's developed an odd friendship with the first-year Phaluverie student, Pippa.

(Scirocco's also getting a redesign so she'll look less like Vidia in the final product)
