Hi! I saw on the website that apparently some kind of wizardry is possible to make ISAT's style of shaking text in html and I would like to know the wizardry. Please I am begging (humbly). I have been trying to figure this out myself but it feels like I'm fighting Mal du Pays. This would help my mental health immensely
Lucky for you, I asked the wonderful @goldstargloww whether I can share vaer magic work, and they made a github for it!!
It uses CSS to make a class for the shaky text, and then wraps every individual letter in its own <span> element, hence why we did not end up using it, because i kind of don't want to bother (though gold also made a python script that'll do the wrapping for you)
Once again, shoutout to Gold!! Without vaer, the site would not look half as good as it does now. Just compare some old pages with new ones, lol.

BIOGRAPHY.

born in stockton, california to a single mother, camila reyes mcdonald, natalie serrano mcdonald is the oldest of five children. while natalie never knew her father, her other siblings were blessed ( or cursed, rather ) with the knowledge that their father was much like their mother, an alcoholic who dabbled in hard drugs. once nat was old enough to care for herself, at the ripe old age of 9, the little care they received from their mother became almost as non-existent as their respective fathers involvements in their lives.
the one escape for natalie was school. while she grew up extremely poor, when it came to academics she was extremely gifted. she excelled in a majority of her classes, especially math and science. while her academics were great, she didn't have many friends. coming from a family below the poverty line mixing with the cruelness of children... didn't exactly make it easy for her to make friends, but she was extremely loyal to those that she had.
high school was proving to be difficult for nat, an influx of classes, which weren't so difficult... but classes as well as caring for her younger siblings, all while juggling a part time job and taking care of their drunk mother ( when she decided to come home ) was a lot for a teenager. three weeks after her fifteenth birthday, natalie's mother was found unconscious in a local park after an overdose. after three days in the local i.c.u. she passed.
while natalie felt more... indifferent than anything, her younger siblings were crushed. for two weeks nat took care of everything, the same way she had for years before their mother had passed. but after these two weeks everything in natalie's life turned upside down with a simple knock on their door. a tall man, vaguely familiar stood upon their modest stoop, claiming to be her father.
while natalie's first instinct was the slam the door in his face, his odd clothes and accent made her curious. when he explained to her that he was there to take her back to wales with him and all of her siblings. already in shock at the fact that this obviously wealthy ( yet very unusual ) man was not only her father, but willing to take in her and her four siblings to another country, he dropped the biggest bomb one could drop ; the fact that she was a witch. nat laughed in his face but after he whipped out a wand and made their ratty old sofa float... she didn't really have a choice in believing him. he also explained that while her siblings were muggles, he would still take care of them at his manor ( "holy shit a manor?" ) in wales.
once in wales, nat bonded with her new father, and fell in love with the magical plants of this new world of hers. he explained to her that when she was around 17/18 her powers would likely manifest, and she would be sent to a wizarding school called hogwarts, where she could eventually choose an area of study - one choice being herbology or the study of magical plants. at 17 her magic started to come in and she was sent to hogwarts where she was sorted into gryffindor, the same house her father himself was sorted into. now in her fifth year at hogwarts, and following the death of cedric diggory the year before, nat has always known that her loyalties were to the light, and nothing has changed that.
HEADCANONS.
she secretly grows weed on campus ( in a hidden area, veiled by several charms ) and sells it to her peers. she doesn't like to drink often because of her mothers addiction, but is always down to smoke instead, and is usually very generous with her weed.
doesn't take her position of vice president of the herbology club very seriously most of the time, but will if she has to.
often gives herself stick n poke tattoos, and is known for giving them to her house mates as well.
has a white lipped python named santana ( named after santana lopez from glee ) which probably scares most of her dorm mates.
at the beginning of every year she is known for bringing in large amounts of american candy that isn't accessible where they are. her favorite is reese's, and she is very reluctant to share.
often wears acrylic / gel x nails that she does herself, as this was the career field she was planning on going into as a muggle. it's not uncommon for her dorm / house mates to ask her to do their nails for them.
her friends back home in california think she is away at a college in europe and often send her letters and gifts.
