I like the whimsy of fairytales so much with all their strange rules that just are respected and personifications of things like the wind that noone questions and characters’s reactions that are either too drastic or too mild for the situation and never just right

so i've spoken before abt how jace might've insisted on postponing his and baela's wedding till after the dance (despite ample opportunity/mutual desire) bc his love for her wanted to give her a ceremony without death looming over it. and that his fear for her compelled him not to wed and inevitably bed her when the tragedy of three harrowing labors might take what should be a joyful time away from them and - even more than that - take his beloved baela from him.

but what if, and bear with me for a moment, what if beyond rhaenyra and laena and rhaenys - all three women robbed, in some way shape or form, of a queendom - jace's thoughts took him to another targaryen ancestor, robbed of her birthright, burdened with the loss of her husband, and left alone to defend and protect their children from usurpers? maybe i'm just spitballing but what if jace's nights during the dance were haunted by the memory of rhaena targaryen, black bride, queen of the west, queen of the east, and whose ghost yet haunts the halls of harwin's his father's home at harrenhal?

what if he sees his baela, bold and brave and so beautiful, and knows - gods willing - he'll make her his queen. what if jace sees her and wants so many things for her but not one of those things is to make a rhaena targaryen of her. rhaena who was queen of the west and queen of the east but never ruled as queen of westeros in her own right - and, in trying to spare baela of that fate, jace dies anyway.

and she becomes a bit like rhaena regardless: robbed of her love and her crown.

LMK AU ~ The Journey to the East

I have no idea were to begin with this au but instead of Sun Wukong and Tripitaka and the Journey to the West it's about Macaque and Princess Iron Fan heading east. Why are they heading east? Well long story short after Wukong left Flower Fruit Mountain to join tjttw he was gone for a long time and after several years Macaque chases after Wukong and is pissed when he finds out about the fillet. He does try to kill Tripitaka but Wukong does stop his, after our monkie babies fight it out Macaque tries to get someone from heaven to remove the fillet but is told that they can't. But in the far East of China there is a temple with many magical artifacts including a scroll will an incantation that could remove the fillet. One problem, the artifacts are guarded by a ruthless demon king that doesn't like to share and rules with no mercy. So that explains Macaque is on this crazy road trip but why is PIF tagging along? Well at this moment PIF and DBK have met and fell in love but their families despise eachother in any effort to keep them apart PIF'S family gives DBK a list of impossible trials he must complete to marry PIF. Now you remember that temple of ancient artifacts, well apparently one of those artifacts once belonged to the Bull family but it was stolen and no member of the family was ever able to get it back. PIF task is the travel East, find the artifact, and bring it back.

I'm thinking about adding the Scorpion Queen but there is so much that happens here before and after the tjtte that by the end Macaque is referred to by to Monkey Queen and even Buddha is a litte scared of Sun Wukong and Macaque. Yes Buddha is still stronger but a fight between the three would cause more damage then it's worth. Tell me Tumblr, would you like to know more?
