Flame Robin (m) by Cam's Birds Via Flickr: We were very surprised to encounter this bright male Flame Robin (Petroica phoenicea) in an area we've never seen this species before. He was hunting from a farm fence, away from forest remnants, jumping down into the nearby grass, before flying back up to the fence. He did not appear to have a partner nearby.

Scarlet Robin by Cam's Birds Via Flickr: Scarlet Robin (Petroica Boodang), Heathcote, central Victoria, Australia. This male robin was part of a feeding flock containing Buff-rumped Thornbill, Spotted Pardalote, Grey Fantail and others. He stopped very close by to inspect me, before moving through with the rest of the flock.
