Ahsoka sleeps with her shoes on.
At first it doesn’t seem like an important detail bc yeah, she’s a jedi and she doesn’t have many possessions so why wouldn’t she just keep it all on person—guys, there is no reason for her not to remove her shoes. She clearly has the whole room to herself, and she’s in bed: the space you want to keep clean so you can be comfortable while you sleep. But Ahsoka wears her shoes in her bed. Why?
She wants to be ready for anything. Think about it. If you’re on the war front, there is no telling when you will be called into action. There is no knowing when you might be caught by surprise. There is no time to put your shoes on when your camp is under attack. You must be ready for anything.
The fact that Ahsoka has this habit is sad and terrifying. She’s literally just a child. She is a child fighting on the front lines of a galaxy-wide war. She should NOT need to know what it feels like to sleep with her shoes on. She should not feel so insecure when she sleeps that she doesn’t think she won’t have to defend herself at any given notice.
She sleeps with her back to the wall.
If you’ve had a nightmare, or you’ve been in the same room with a person you don’t trust, you want to have your back to the wall. This way, no one can surprise you in your blind spot, and theoretically, all the danger is in front of you, where you will easily be able to acknowledge it. Even though Ahsoka is alone, and in a secure location, she has this UNCONSCIOUS HABIT of sleeping with her back to a solid structure, so that nothing can get to her without her noticing.
She sleeps in the recovery position.
For those who don’t know, the recovery position is a stable position for people who lose bodily control and need to be kept in one place without the risk of injury. The person is laid on their side with their arm folded under their head, and the weight of their body supported by their top knee braced against the surface upon which they rest. Ahsoka’s limbs are placed so that she can assume this position in a second if she needs to. Her arm is tucked close to her head, and her top leg is already folded over the other in a way that indicates its next movement will be to stop her from rolling onto her stomach. She wouldn’t sleep in this position unless she was afraid of hurting herself in her sleep by moving. What kind of experience would do that to a child? Maybe sleeping on a cliffside, trying to remain silent while dangerous predators try to find you, sleeping on the unforgiving terrain of an alien planet night after night for weeks on end.
There is so much wrong with this picture.
