okay, by popular demand (and by popular demand, i mean 3 people and my inability to keep my mouth shut) i am here with my saiou/ousai relationship + mini character analysis. this is an elaboration on this ask i got earlier !!
i should mention that i’ve only ever played through v3 once, so there is probably a lot i am missing, nuance wise and what not. i also haven’t edited this well, so it’s kinda just a word dump (sorry), so i’m not sure how understandable/coherent it’ll be. nor do i know how original my ideas are; there’s probably someone who’s dumped their opinions exactly like mine somewhere… in any case, here is my conclusion on why i think saiou is a rather intriguing ship and why i’m personally drawn to them, individually n otherwise ✌️
ouma kokichi. god what a complex character. some might argue otherwise, but i think his character and his arc throughout the game is not only hard to crack/understand, but integral to the v3 plot and overarching themes presented. well never truly know what he was thinking, and so many have already fought tooth and nail to defend or oppose him. in my humble opinion, however, the way i see it is this: ouma’s overall goal was to unite everyone against an active, obvious threat in the killing game. the mastermind was hidden amongst them, as they decided found out on, and by outing himself as the mastermind, making himself a clear and obvious target, it encouraged the remaining survivors to build trust within one another and fight together. kokichi realized very early on that no one was going to trust anyone as long as there was a hidden mastermind posing as a student within their group. he knew they weren’t going to get anywhere if they kept doubting each other — so in a very unorthodox way, he united them together. they didn’t need a friend, he realized, they needed an enemy. and by default, he sort of becomes shuichi’s nemesis as most antagonists in the games do.
i was on tiktok the other day and found this comment that i thought made a good point, regarding kokichi’s character and why people hate him.

though i am biased, i think it’s fair to say that in a world without the killing game, kokichi would want to be friends with shuichi. or at the very least, he’d be intrigued by him and push shuichi’s buttons to figure him out. i think it’s funny and such a nice detail to notice, but just as shuichi (and us, by default) are confused about kokichi and his actions, shuichi himself is actually a mystery to ouma as well. in the eng version, kokichi had shuichi labeled “trustworthy?” on his whiteboard meanwhile in the jp version, it’s “tricky/can’t figure him out.” in both versions regardless of translation, i think it’s fair to say that kokichi is intrigued and wants to understand shuichi better. one part of their dynamic i really love is the whole “i’m gonna annoy because it’s so fun and you react to said annoyances in ways i thoroughly enjoy.” and it’s fun, and silly, but i think it’s also kokichi’s way of figuring shuichi out. shuichi is… an anomaly. he’s an ultimate detective who’s supposed to search for the truth, yet he is ironically afraid of what he’ll find out. he has a knack for discovering and unearthing mysteries (he can’t help but connect two dots together) and yet he simultaneously is hesitant to discover more. he wants to find the truth, but is willing to tell lies in the classroom trials. this is a really fun juxtaposition with kokichi, who is notorious for telling lies and skirting around the truth like it’s the plague. and yet, they both want the same thing: to find out the truth and be done with this killing game. one is searching for the liars within their group, the other is finding out the truths.
this is one reason why i really enjoy saiou. one of the biggest themes for drv3 is the relationship between truths and lies. there’s the overarching “truth” of their world which is that it’s gone to hellfire and everyone but them are dead. the world ended. except, nope! that’s a lie! the *real* truth is that they’re in a killing game show. kokichi is known for telling lies, and so when he reveals the fire destroyed world outside and says that this is the truth out of the outside world, it’s ironic. kokichi knows there’s something else up, but he reveals the truth of the outside world to them (this, from what i understand/theorize, is ultimately to further everyone’s hatred towards ouma and help them form a close and trusting bond together, but the symbolism behind it is really interesting to me). “here is your truth,” he says, and they can’t dispute it as a lie because it’s right there in front of them. just like they couldn’t dispute gonta in the fourth trial.
except… what *really* defines truth? kokichi must’ve known the outside world was a lie, or that there was something more to it, otherwise why did he go through with his suicide in chap 5? to beat a dead horse: he tells a lie about the “truth” that is the outside world. we circle back to this lie vs truth theme in chapter six when shuichi starts questioning his sense of self. what is really true if he used to be someone else? if his memories and experiences are fake, does that make himself a fake human? a fake person? ultimately we come to know that it doesn’t matter — *he* gets to choose his own truth, even if there are lies buried beneath them. his memories may be fake, but his emotions and feelings aren’t. you cant fake the beating of your own heart or the pain you feel at knowing it’s all unreal, that it’s all a *lie*.
one thing i just thought was so so clever and genuinely helped me understand kokichi more was his friendship reward. for every friendship star completion thingy you complete, you get their underwear (💀) and a special skill to use in the trials. kokichi’s friendship reward is “kind lie.” he has a multitude of lies under his belt — real ones, hurtful ones, white ones, and ofc kind ones. you could argue his plan to deceive everyone as the mastermind was both a hurtful lie and a kind lie — he was ultimately lying for the greater good (imo). shuichi, despite being afraid of the truth, has no problem lying for the greater good either. i was so confused about the whole “perjury” aspect added to this game. i thought it was just another lame addition that didn’t make sense as a means of attempting to change it up a little in comparison to the last two games. but now i understand it’s greater purpose. lying is ultimately not a bad thing. not always, anyway. lying, as we find out, can help us pursue the truth. and i think kokichi knows this to be true in some ways, which is why he’s always acting so oblivious and naive at some times — or outright lying when he knows the truth is the opposite of what he’s saying. without a doubt, kokichi seriously helped move debates along during the trials. pretty sure whether you hate him or love him, people could agree to that. even if he appeared to be spouting nonsense or derailing the conversation, shuichi being the detective he is was able to slowly but surely understand (if only somewhat minimally) kokichi’s methods and thinking process. which is why chap 5 was so wild because it quite literally was all up to shuichi. kokichi single handedly put his trust into kaito to follow through with the plan, and shuichi to figure it out; NO ONE ELSE would’ve been able to figure it out except shuichi (except maybe maki but she was too stubborn to see thru to the truth). and that is like. holy shit??? that’s crazy to me and i think it shows that despite not trusting anyone and not knowing how it was going to turn out, kokichi took that gamble anyway. and it worked! except yknow. it also didn’t, in a way. all in all, the lying aspect of the trail grounds ties into the bigger overarching theme of choosing your own truth to live, and choosing what lies to believe in — good or bad.
side note: i think it’s so funny how mad kokichi gets when shuichi lies about seeing him in the virtual world in chapter four. had shuichi not lied, we wouldn’t have figured out it was gonta (or more likely, kokichi would’ve spoon fed the answer to everyone a bit more). gonta wasn’t supposed to have memory loss, and i have to wonder if not lying about kokichi would’ve made the trial go along if gonta still had his memories from the virtual world. in any case, when shuichi pulled the “yeah i actually did see you walk up the stairs” — the fact he LIED (mr “i’m searching for the truth so we can live and find the culprit” detective) to notorious king of liars ouma kokichi was so funny to me. like girl. ofc kokichi’s gonna realize you lied. and he did and he got so fucking mad over it and kokichi being petty like that and just saying “yeah okay gonta’s the culprit” is so funny to me. bro was LIVID he decided to just up and say the truth to be petty 😭
moving on, i think the big three characters juxtaposed with shuichi is something to note. those three being kaede, kaito, and kokichi. mayyyybe i’m looking a bit too much into this but i want to mention their relationship with shuichi and their character designs because it feels very intentional to me. a while back i discovered shuichi and kokichi have inverted color palettes — black with light accents vs white with dark accents. grey-ish yellow vs purple eyes. but the eye color inversion also actually applies to kaito and kaede, who, just like kokichi, have purple eyes. here is my argument: purple is an important color to the story, as it overall conveys a symbolism for trust and truth. if you look at those three’s color palettes, purple is a notable color. for kaito, it’s dominating. kaede, she’s a bit more desaturated, and kokichi it’s like his accent color. barely there, but noticeable nonetheless.
kaede is our first culprit (except she isn’t since her plan failed). she is trusting and sweet and kind and encouraging. she is desperate, *desperate* to find the mastermind first thing because she is heavily determined to help everyone escape. her color palette is a mix of purple and pink, with pink being more prominent and her purple being a more lavender shade. she’s desaturated in color, especially in her eyes, and i want to say this is likely symbolic of her desire to find the truth, yet her willingness to deceive others simultaneously. she’s not a bad person, far from it, but when she “kills” rantarou, she doesn’t own up to it immediately. she owns up to it eventually, but she also doesn’t take advantage of the first blood perk as a means of further trying to find the mastermind. she is willing to lie about her plan to shuichi (even if it’s lie by deception/not telling) and willing to take a risk to find and kill the mastermind. this, i believe, is why her eyes are so desaturated in purple; she is telling the truth, but it’s watered down.
kaito is almost the complete opposite of kokichi, but also not exactly the same as kaede. out of the three, he has the brightest purple eyes and the most purple on his body. he is a living, breathing, walking example of trust and truth. he wants to find the truth so badly and would never even THINK to tell a lie. would never even consider murder, even if it was the mastermind. his hair is purple, his jacket is purple, and his eyes are purple as all hell. purple, in my opinion, is a huge color resembling truth and trust. he *trusts* maki just because he wants to. he *trusts* shuichi just because he wants to. he wants to believe in them because he wants to find the good in everyone. his trust in them help bolster shuichi into a better mindset, especially after kaede, and encourages him to keep going. kaito might not be the brightest, nor the most helpful in the trials, but emotionally he is vital to shuichi. because he *trusts* shuichi.
kokichi has the least amount of purple in his color palette, but i think his purple accents are the most important out of all of the purple trio. if purple is the color of truth and trust, then having that color reflected on kokichi almost seems ironic and misinforming. except it isn’t. ouma kokichi, the notorious king of lies, is actually quite good at leading everyone towards the truth. the only purple on him is in the dyed tips if his hair and his eyes— almost like the truth his bleeding out of him, or rather just barely visible that you can’t make it out unless you focus hard enough. after all, at first glance i imagine everyone would take in the checkered scarf and the fact black and white is so prominent on him. i think it’s symbolic to have purple as his eye color. it’s a nice character design aspect imo, but it also harkens back to that one saying “the eyes are the window to the soul” or something long that line. despite what kokichi might say or do, the truth is in his eyes (literally). it’s silent and unassuming, but it’s there. his eyes are actually a brighter and darker purple than kaede’s. not as bright as kaito’s, but still something to note.
with all this being said, shuichi gets a difference sense of truth and trust from each of them. kaede provides him an equal dose of truths and lies, kaito gives him absolute truth, and kokichi gives him almost all lies to find the truth.
and i really, *really* love the dynamic between shuichi and kokichi with this whole truth vs lie theme. kokichi, as we learn in his free time events, loves to play games. he’s a bit childish but still extremely mature. his way of having fun is messing with people (though not necessarily in a mean way. after all, he makes the stakes extremely high and concerning, like killing yourself if you lose — but he still purposefully rigs each game so they end in a tie, or with shuichi winning. hell, he STABS himself, hurts himself, in the knife game that is in the final FTE and holy shit if that isn’t foreshadowing for chapter five idk what is. he is willing to hurt himself to avoid others getting hurt. obviously this can get more complicated when it comes to chap. 4. you could argue he hurt miu and gonta terribly and he should’ve died if what i said was true, but i would counter argue by saying the killing game would’ve gone on and on, just like tsumugi wanted, without his intervention there… still a heart wrenching trial nonetheless and gonta and miu both deserved better imo. but what would danganronpa be without unfair trials and bullshit like that?).
it’s this push and this pull, this dance, if you will, between shuichi and kokichi. kokichi is a trickster pulling various stunts and never revealing his hand, and shuichi is a detective trying to uncover his secrets. i think kokichi gets thrilled at the prospect of being uncovered like that — he lies and he lies and he *wants* someone to catch him. after all, in the love suite hotel his entire thing is phantom thief being captured by detective shuichi…… the fact he still says “because i love you shuichi” is fucking insane, but that’s actually not the most important part here. during the love suite, he brings up playing games again, just like in the FTEs. “you weren’t bored playing with me, were you?” kokichi asks. and then “are you mad because i toyed with you? don’t worry. i’m always thinking about you!—“ (bombastic side eye 🤨🏳️🌈) “—you’re always trying your best to catch me. i really have to give it my all to win .” and then shuichi points out directly after that he seems to be enjoying himself, despite being a “cornered criminal.” and that’s when kokichi admits that he *wants* shuichi to catch him. ….. oh boy the connotations here are kinda crazy but…. it gets even crazier. i cant believe this part is voice acted but here i’ll just link the video so people can watch. (from 4:32 to 5:10) a lot of this, esp towards the end, is likely for the whole romantic love suite hotel roleplaying thing going on to appease the audience playing the v3, but even still it’s such a fun dynamic. again, the push and the pull. it almost feels like a game of tag, the thing going on between shuichi and kokichi. except it’s hard sometimes to figure out who’s running after who. overall, kokichi is a liar and it’s hard to tell what he says is true, and shuichi is a detective hungry for truths.
side note 2.0: i think a lot of people hate saiou because it feels toxic and i can sorta see where they’re coming from: from a very bare bones glossing over their character dynamic, i could potentially see how they got to that conclusion, but i don’t think that conclusion did any real deep diving into their dynamic and characters. so no, saiou is not toxic. and also, it should be mentioned the moment shuichi shows signs of unease in the love suite hotel after kokichi shoved him over the bed, bro was up and out. kokichi respect boundaries and understands a no when he hears one 😁👍
tldr: truths vs. lies. games. purple = truths and trust. chasing after one another. saiousai cool ✌️👍

o, hi again :DD
I realized I never followed up with my results of my art study of your art so here it is (Twas in March)
genuinely had tons o fun haha
this is genuinely so cool. i think you did a phenomenal job — in fact when i first saw this, i had to do a double take because i was very confused why kokichi was sitting up next to chongyun — like when did i draw those two on the same canvas?? i don’t remember doing that!
i find it fascinating to look at this and then read your notes, with you being someone who broke down my style and analyzed it so heavily. that’s definitely such a brilliant way to continue learning, and i am once again flattered so greatly that you’d use my work as inspiration 🫶 i hope that was an enjoyable experience for you
#RosieyASKS#haha i see you actually colored in kokichi’s shoe this time lmao#i remember forgetting to do that in my original piece lol

What did you think about v3 ending? Personally I like it but there is a clear division in the fandom about it, so I'm curious about your thoughts
hmm for me this is somewhat a tough question. when i first completed the game, i was admittedly slightly disappointed and felt unsatisfied. i felt like the twist at the end came out of nowhere and the whole “no one is real,” to me, felt like it invalidated the characters from the other two (three, technically) games. as someone who has a soft spot for the d2 cast, it hurt a bit knowing their struggle and fight for survival — esp the efforts hinata and the others went through to wake everyone up from the neo world program — were invalidated. it didn’t matter anymore. which, granted, these are fictional characters and technically none of their struggles were real to begin with, but i think the whole “yeah these characters don’t even exist canonically within their own game universe” was so weird and hard to wrap my head around.
however, i have since changed my mind. if i’m being so fr, coming to understand ousai/saiou has honestly helped me understand v3 as a whole a bit more. that, on top of also just sitting with my feelings for a couple of months now.
i genuinely don’t mind the v3 ending, for more reasons that one. it’s not a perfect masterpiece, but deserves kudos. firstly, it’s a nice commentary imo on the concept of violence being used as entertainment. here we are, players and audiences to a game about students — children, really — killing themselves. there’s this sick fascination we as society have had towards media like that, whether it be via books, tv/movies, or video games. we are confronted with how sick and twisted it really is when saihara and gang realize the truth. people are watching them. and it’s not us, granted, but fictional people within the dr universe, but the point still stands. we are watching people kill and be killed. and we enjoy it.
this is why i don’t think there will ever be another danganronpa game. i love those games dearly — they’re so ass and so peak at the same time. but the message for v3 was clear: we’re putting an end to danganronpa. which is both sad (no dr4 ☹️) but also it’s waving in your face “hey, hey, pay attention! violence shouldn’t be glorified like this!!!”
but back to what i was saying about saiou helping me determine my feelings on the ending. if you’ve read my saiou analysis, then you know i really enjoy the whole truths vs lies theme for v3. it not only serves as a fun dynamic between saihara and ouma (and also just saihara and the game in general) but also engages the audience to think about truths and lies. in chap. 6, saihara, harukawa, and yumeno all have a mental breakdown over the fact nothing of what they knew was real to begin with — not their memories, not their personalities, not their characters. but… you can’t really fake your emotions. sure, maybe maki was written to fall in love with kaito, but does that really invalidate her feelings? she felt something, didn’t she? she cared, didn’t she? yeah, it’s sick and twisted to think someone manipulated her to feel that way, but the fact she felt such a strong emotion nonetheless doesn’t make her emotions and feelings unreal. at least, i don’t think so. and the creators of v3 agree. their message, as far as i’ve deduced, is that no matter what’s real and what’s fake, you ultimately choose your own truth to live by. shuichi’s past was overwritten by his new personality that was horrified at learning what danganronpa truly was. but he took this, despite the pain and horror, and claimed it as his own. despite everything, he is still saihara shuichi. there are lies sprinkled in there, but there are also truths.
if everyone agrees that the sky is blue, that is a universal truth. the same logic can be applied to lies. so, if everyone universally agrees the sky is green, that is also a truth. except — the sky is not green. not unless we want it to be. we as a society mold and bend truths and lies to make our reality clearer to ourselves. to help us understand the world we live in. but how do we know for sure what is real and what isn’t? is the sky really blue, just because everyone says so? perhaps we have been lying to ourselves the entire time.
tldr: this is why i think i’m satisfied, in the end, with the v3 conclusion. it not only confronts the audience with the sick and twisted reality of violence being used as entertainment, but additionally leaves us to dwell on themes of lies and truths. of choosing our own reality to live by and choosing what kind of person we want to be. because in the end, who truly decides whats real and what’s fake? you may not have the power to change the public’s opinion on what color the sky is, but you can certainly decide who you want to be and build the most truthful, honest version of yourself.

your artstyle is killing me AGHHH everyone is so gorgeous (hajime in particular <- big hajime lover)
do you have any art tips? just stuff you wish you'd learned earlier!!
hii thank you so so much 🫰💕 it was was really fun figuring out how to draw him, so i’m glad i did him justice 🫶
i feel like i’m not very good at giving art tips, so i’m sorry if the following sounds messy/unorganized…. but i think something that i wished i knew earlier was that not every art piece has to be the same. not every piece will be great or fantastic or consistent. you’re allowed to fuck around and find out, essentially haha. i personally struggled a lot with consistency (and still do imo) but i’ve learned to just shrug that off and be fine with it. i’ve had to learn how be comfortable with the uncomfortable, if that makes sense.
i wish i learned how to study art earlier, too. when we first start out learning to draw, we often try drawing exactly what we see and copying without really understanding what we’re copying. when i study other people’s art, i find it’s absolutely essential to break down exactly what the other person is doing and why. why did they put a line here, why is the color blended into a shadow there, etc etc. basically analyzing their process and putting yourself in the shoes of the artist you’re studying. it’s not truly easy for me to explain, but i’ve found that learning *how* to learn/study has helped me apply the skills i’ve learned to my art better
#RosieyASKS#sorry i hope this helps haha idk of what i’m saying means anything or makes sense#i appreciate your ask thoigh nonetheless!!

Are you a moth?
as a joke, i started showing my friends this question to get their answer. it was all good fun and simple banter, but the more i think about it the answer is likely yes. i adore the sun in all her glory. she is bright and beautiful and like a moth to a flame i seek her presence every day when i awake. she warms me and makes me happy and lights up the world in such a lovely way. she kisses my skin in a way that leaves freckles in their wake and it serves as a reminder that i am breathing and that i am alive. it’s beautiful, i think, the act of being alive. in truth, i am no better than the fluffy, delicate insects who flutter about in the night in search of her comfort.
so, yes. perhaps i am a moth….

The way you draw shuichi (and also kokichi) makes me shiggle i love him sm he looks so cute and him like in your style. Hes just a silly guy i love him
aaa thank you so so much !! i really do my best to do these characters justice; translating the pasty af silly goofy sprites in game into my art style is… an interesting challenge haha. shuichi’s hair looks like a motorcycle helmet and, imo, there’s a special charm to his original sprites but it’s also so goofy looking. i need him to give more natural looking hair that’s whispy and pretty and long :3
(also… sh…shiggle…?? 😰 )

HIIIIHIIHI I THINK YOUR ART IS REALLY RAD
question: whats your opinion on makoto? (asking because you said hajime and shuichi were your fav protags.) do you not like him or do you think he's mid? :3
have a wonderful day :33
hello, thank you so much! 🥺🫶
i definitely have a bit of a bias towards the sdr2 and v3 protags haha, but not because i dislike makoto. i think it’s mostly because, out of the four games, i played sdr2 first and so the goodbye despair cast has a very special place in my heart. it was my first experience with danganronpa in a gameplay sense because my friends first introduced me to the franchise via the thh anime (which i regret, honestly. wish they had me go through with thh the game first, instead). as for shuichi, i just think his character is… complicated in a very unique and interesting way. i’ve mentioned it before in a previous ask, but the fact he’s a detective scared of his own truths really itches my brain, i guess haha. (but… i admit i am *also* biased towards him bc of saiousai. the ouma/saihara dynamic has me in a chokehold 🥲🫠)
so no, i don’t think makoto is mid! i just have little biases that push me towards the other two guys instead. makoto is a very sweet character who is honestly just the ultimate sweetheart. he’s so open and trusting, and i think there’s a sort of purity and innocence to that. when watching the dr3 anime, i was so excited for his reappearance and felt like some sort of proud parent to see him more grown up haha
#RosieyASKS#this is probably… wayyy too long of a response to such a simple question HAHA#uggghh really shows how deep into the hyperfixation i am when all i do is yap#yapmaxxing fr#prob doesn’t help that i’m replaying the games with a close family member haha

Hello! I hope that you are well!
I was looking through some of your drawings of Shuichi Saihara (which are amazing, by the way!) and noticed that you often draw him with piercings.
It's a great design and suits him well, but it made me wonder what you think of Rantaro Amami's design. Unless I am misremembering, he is the only character in Danganronpa V3 that has piercings (and a lot of them, haha). If you ever drew him, what would you add, change, or take away from his appearance?
On the same topic, what are your general thoughts on Rantaro? Do you have any head-canons of him?
Thank you for your time, and keep up the amazing work!
- Saber
hi, thank you so much for your compliments! i’m quite flattered haha
as for your ask, i like rantarou! he’s really neat and i was actually so devastated that he was the first to go because upon first meeting him, i knew he was going to be a possible favourite. as of now, i’m more so indifferent, and i don’t really care for green characters too much, but my feelings for him lean towards positive. i think he’s neat. seems really chill
can’t say i really have a whole lot of head canons since he’s admittedly not someone i give too much thought to, but overall i would give him an eyebrow piercing and imagine he has a few sets of snake bites he alternates through. i gave him an eyebrow slit, too, to match with his piercing in my recent work. he already has so many piercings i cant say i’d give him more — maybe more on his left ear though, since his right is uh. very heavily pierced haha. i could see him having a piercing at his clavicle though, or maybe his tongue. again, i wouldn’t add much more, personally. if anything i’d give him some tattoos. i can easily see him being a tattoo artist.
despite me not caring for his specific shade of green, i actually love his design a lot and think he’s definitely an underrated character (or maybe he’s not? i actually don’t heavily interact with the drv3 fandom so perhaps he’s more popular than i think he is). initially, in my first play through of v3 and when things went wrong, or there was a death of some sort, i’d tsk and shake my head, telling my friend i was playing with that none of this would’ve happened if rantarou were there haha. he was just an enigma that haunted my v3 experience and when i found out his effigy was just… hanging upside down in ouma’s room i lost it because i thought it was so funny. proceeded to then be heavily disappointed that clicking on his effigy did nothing and we, as the audience, never truly learned why ouma hung it in his room……. right by his bed no less 💀 (reason was likely just due to his evidence hoarding tendencies, but still)
#ROSIEYASKS#actually#on the topic of rantarou and piercings i noticed while looking for references for him for my recent drawing#he uh. he has an eyebrow piercing and that isn’t a head canon??? except it only ever shows up in his closing argument artworks#which uhh. does that make it canon? none of his sprites have the brow piercing…#then again#there are so many inconsistencies in the drv3 sprites that at this point i’m not surprised

so many people here have said this already but im gonna say it too - your saiouma art genuinely makes my day better every time i see it sdvjsdvbhufhi, both as ship art and when you draw them separately. love it a lot :DD
i know the feeling of not really having much content for a ship that’s, well, sailed a long time ago 💀 so i’m really grateful (and surprised?) that there are still people hanging around for these two. but it’s also such a humbling experience to know my art can touch people like this 🥺🫶🎀

Hi Rosie!! I was that one user who said you are on the art style study list of mine—In which I decided to study yours first :D
I still need to note down how you work, but from my observations I understood a lot. And I really can't explain how much I love your style. Learning so much!!
oh my goodness — this is such an honor, really 😭🙏 i’m flattered, really, that someone could find my artwork this inspirational that they’d want to study it 🥹🫶
i absolutely love doing art studies myself, so to know someone takes my work to break it down like this is so bizarre … thank you so so much 🫰💕

Would you be open to draw other v3 characters? Shuichi is my favourite so I'm eating good but I was wondering
i might! i was kinda curious about drawing all the characters just to see how they’d look in my style. … including some from thh… i wanna draw drawing makoto 🥺 but to be fully honest tho, when i hyperfixate i tend to get very narrow minded when it comes to drawing and more specifically, what/who i draw 💀
i rarely can predict the next artwork i’ll make, but 9 times out of 10 i have a sudden burst of intense motivation and go “omg wait what if i drew them like this” and all potential ideas of drawing other characters/ideas jump out the window
so uh. we’ll see?

you've likely been getting this a lot but i was ECSTATIC to see your saiou art, i remember having such a big hyperfixation for them in 2020 and your art has me relove the ship even more. i love how you draw them!! im super curious at how they also got you super hooked like the rest of us </3
aaa i’m so happy to hear this!! i’ve said this before but it’s actually so refreshing to know that people still enjoy seeing my art of them. i still can’t get over the fact i’ve joined a fandom so late…. sighs. but i’ve been swallowed in and i don’t think i can turn back at this point
as for why i am hooked on them? hmmm bit of a tough question to answer. i think i just really enjoy their dynamic and how it fits in with the overarching themes of v3 as a whole. truths vs lies. are lies truly evil or can they be used for good? are truths always good, or can they sometimes be vile? esp the whole aspect of saihara chasing after ouma and trying desperately to figure him out; he’s a walking puzzle and saihara, the puzzle solver he is, can’t help but try to piece him together.
i actually typed out this long ass essay worthy response to a friend of mine a few days ago…. not sure if anyone gives a shit to read it but perhaps i’ll post it at some point…
errr but also. i feel i will just naturally gravitate towards characters and ships i find interesting. i like saihara bc he’s pretty imo (he has lashes for days and that facial card is absolutely lethal) and ouma, well, i’ve always had a thing for black/white color schemes and his character is just simply bizarre to me. i need to study him under a microscope. little gremlin creature thing.
the yaoi ship chooses me, really, i don’t choose the yaoi lmao
#RosieyASKS#side note: when i first got into v3 i had the pleasure of doing it with a friend of mine who was#at the time a HUGE danganronpa fan and komahina shipper#as she watched me play thru v3 she had me guess who the most popular ship was. as i expected#shuichi was half of said popular ship and so i went thry trying to figure out who it was that could possibly have chemistry with him#my obvious first answer was kaede#and then kaito bc he’s very supportive and sweet towards shuichi#it actually took me getting kokichi in the love hotel during chap 3 i think for me to Get It. ouma was my second lovehotel playthrough#korekiyo was my first and that traumatized me a little LMAO so i was scared to go forward but i’m glad i did#the love hotel was apparently a huge hint towards who saihara was popularly shipped with and i was really dumb and didn’t understand what#was happening in ouma’s until my friend pointed out that shuichi saihara was still very much shuichi saihara#even tho it was ouma’s IDEAL… took me a solid five seconds to#Get It. i actually had an irl “oh…. OH!!! moment and it’s genuinely so funny#looking back on it

I CANT BELIEVE XINGYUN IS REAL???? WHAT??!!! ON VALENTINES DAY??? Not even in the lantern rite omg (I just saw your retweets)
I KNOW ,,,, uhuhggghhh xingqiu getting extremely embarrassed and suddenly ineloquent with words the moment chongyun mildly praises him. i have manifested this for Five Years and xingyun is officially canon (not really but close enough)

WAIT XINGYUN REAL?????? its been long since i left the fandom but these two still mean everything to me.. what happened or where i can see it please i need to know
okay unsure if you’ve seen my response to another ask on this, but just in case i’ll answer it anyway:
the whole “xingyun is canon now” spiel is referring to a recently released event in genshin! as someone who has yet to play it myself, i cant say a whole lot on it, but i have mutuals who have told me about it. specifically, there’s a moment in the event you can stumble upon when walking up to xingqiu and chongyun. they two are together and, with the traveler, have some sort of conversation. at one point chongyun happily praises xingqiu and his outstanding skills at writing, his books, etc. chongyun cuts himself off, confused, as he turns to xingqiu and asks, “wait, xingqiu. why is your face so red?” turns out xingqiu is blushing — a genuine blush, too, with red on his in game character model’s cheeks — because of the praise he is receiving. could it be just general embarrassment…. or something else that encouraged such color 👀
another fun thing that was said by xingqiu is that apparently he will run away and stay with chongyun at his place for “10 days to take weeks” …. which is such an oddly specifically timeframe lmao? like dude why are you staying at your best friend’s place for two weeks…… if you’re trying to take a break away from home isn’t 2-3 days enough?!
