💸💸💸💸💸
this is me just talking abt money and random stuff veeerrryy boring but i bought a pair of shoes a couple months ago for $200 and i have only wore them once i just stare at them and think about my bad spending decisions and i know i will start wearing them soon because they’re the only platform shoes i have but they’re also the most expensive shoes ive ever worn & i just die a little inside i need to get over it tho but i also thought of getting new walking shoes since ive had these ones for 5 yrs now (tbh i think the 200$ shoes r the only ones ive bought 4 myself new like all my shoes which is like only my everyday walking shoes, a pair of docs from hs, & a pair of flip flops i dont have many shoes & all were bought for me by someone else like yrs ago) and my feet r starting to get sore wearing them everyday but i think i might just buy new soles instead like these shoes still have traction.. cuz i need to buy a hair dryer and diffuser cup thing soon because im tired of air drying my hair and i want to make my wavy/slightly curly hair look presentable on the regular and not just occasionally and i need to spend money on that instead!!! but also will i do that??? i just put it off lmao it will probably be months before i actually buy something for that why does everything cost moneyyyy i feel like every day im making bad money decisions but i haven’t been That bad like 9/10 i use the stuff that i buy all the way. im physically stopping myself rn from dropping 40 something on this thing that a lot of ppl say really actually helps their cystic acne which ive had constant problems w. but i cant just do that. its 40!!!! instead i need to buy travel liquid containers that are smaller than 3 oz online cuz they usually only have big ones at walmart and i don’t need them to be That big i never do anything beyond a carry on because checked baggage is Expensive and it stresses me out on top of the expensiveness Anyway u can only have like a sandwich baggy sized thing w liquids in a carry on which is sooo annoying 😒 anyway there’s like $100 worth of stuff this yr that ive got that ive actually Really regretted like at the end of the day the new shoes r worth it for me because i’ll wear them until they break. i get so stressed over not using more than a third of the alcohol based mouthwash i got in feb because it burnt my mouth too much i get stressed over the cerave gentle cleanser i got but then it’s not what i need liked i needed the salacylic acid one instead so now that one just stares at me in its largely unused glory like i worry tooooo much but it’s also kind of good worrying because it keeps me in check cuz it makes me quadruple check if i really need something… but i do usually keep my impulse spending to the thrift which is usually a good thing. i bought a cool hat a couple days ago for a couple bucks but my head is too big :(( i need to look for a place that’ll give it away for free im done w giving stuff to goodwill or other places i just want ppl to be able to get clothes w out paying for it i hope that theres something like that around here. anyway i need to buy a really small point pen tomorrow to do this art thing for Father’s Day cuz my smallest point pen went dry yrs ago and this is the first time im picking up doing something like this in yrs like it’s for Father’s Day tho so i feel like it’s justified. and then i’ll need to get T in the next month 🚬 which has been 140 recently cuz i my state doesn’t cover it in insurance. at least insurance covers blood draws and my doctor doesn’t charge for messaging online abt stuff, so. and at least medicaid in my state covers some dental because ihave that appointment next month. and then ill be paying close to $200 for a flight ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh at least its not more than that ig. at least cheap allegiant flights r a thing . im so lucky in so many ways financially because of my mom step dad being so nice to me basically buying a car 4 me at 18 and letting me live w them rent free etc like idk how i got here i am still not used to it really i feel like its gonna be
pulled out from underneath me soon or something

Gen AI Training | Generative AI Course in Hyderabad
Generative AI Training: Essential Terms, Tools, and Techniques
The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is expanding rapidly, and one of the most exciting areas driving this progress is Generative AI. For anyone interested in taking up a Generative AI Course in Hyderabad or diving into Generative AI Training online, this article will help you get familiar with the essentials. As GenAI Training grows in popularity, understanding its key terms, tools, and techniques is crucial for developing the skills needed in the industry. This guide will walk you through foundational terms, introduce popular tools, and explain the techniques behind Generative AI.
Tumblr media
Understanding Key Terms in Generative AI
Generative AI, sometimes referred to as GenAI, encompasses algorithms and models that generate new content, such as images, text, audio, or even video. To fully benefit from Gen AI Training and make the most of a Generative AI Course in Hyderabad, you should be comfortable with a few important terms.
Neural Networks: Neural networks are the backbone of Generative AI. They are computational models inspired by the human brain, used to recognize patterns and make predictions. Generative AI typically uses deep neural networks, especially for image, text, and audio generation.
GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks): GANs consist of two networks—a generator and a discriminator. The generator produces new data samples, whereas the discriminator assesses their validity. This interaction results in refined outputs, whether they be realistic images or high-quality audio samples.
Transformers: Transformers are models mainly used in natural language processing tasks, such as generating coherent paragraphs of text. The advent of transformer models, such as GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), has led to breakthroughs in creating text, coding assistance, and more.
Autoencoders: Autoencoders are neural networks used to learn efficient data encodings. For instance, in image processing, an autoencoder compresses an image to understand its structure and then reconstructs it, aiding in applications such as image denoising and colorization.
Diffusion Models: A newer approach in Generative AI, diffusion models create images by progressively denoising a random noise signal. They are gaining popularity for their high quality in image generation and serve as an alternative to GANs.
Exploring Essential Tools for Generative AI
One of the first things you will encounter in a GenAI Training is the variety of tools and platforms used to develop Generative AI models. Here’s a look at some widely-used tools in the field.
TensorFlow and PyTorch: These are two of the most popular open-source libraries for machine learning and AI. TensorFlow, developed by Google, and PyTorch, developed by Facebook, are essential for building neural networks, including GANs and transformer models. Both are widely used for research and production and have extensive communities and resources for beginners.
Hugging Face: This is a popular platform for natural language processing (NLP) models, especially those using transformer-based architectures. Hugging Face hosts a wide range of pre-trained models that can be fine-tuned for various tasks like text generation, sentiment analysis, and question answering.
Google Colab: Google Colab is a free cloud-based tool that provides a Jupyter Notebook environment with GPU and TPU support. It’s widely used in Generative AI Training and is accessible for beginners who want to test and train models without needing a high-performance computer.
Runway ML: Runway ML is a creative tool that allows users to experiment with Generative AI models without needing deep programming knowledge. It’s popular for generating images, videos, and other artistic content.
OpenAI API: With OpenAI’s GPT-3 and DALL-E models, users can quickly integrate advanced Generative AI capabilities into their applications. Many Generative AI Courses in Hyderabad and elsewhere incorporate OpenAI tools for text, image, and other types of data generation.
Key Techniques in Generative AI
The techniques involved in Generative AI are complex, but understanding the basics can help beginners progress effectively. Courses, such as a Generative AI Course in Hyderabad, will usually cover these approaches.
Data Preprocessing: One of the first steps in Generative AI is data preprocessing, which prepares the dataset for training. This might involve data cleaning, normalization, and augmenting the data, which is especially crucial in image and audio generation. Preprocessing sets the foundation for the model to learn effectively.
Model Training and Tuning: Training Generative AI models is a computationally intensive task. With frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, training involves feeding the model with input data and adjusting parameters. Model tuning refers to adjusting hyperparameters to optimize the model's performance, a skill heavily emphasized in Generative AI Training.
Fine-Tuning and Transfer Learning: Transfer learning is a method where pre-trained models are fine-tuned for specific tasks, saving time and resources. In many Generative AI Training programs, you’ll encounter tasks where a model trained on one dataset (e.g., images) is fine-tuned to generate a different dataset (e.g., specific objects in images).
Evaluation Metrics: After training, evaluating the model’s output is essential to ensure its quality and usability. For GANs, metrics like the Inception Score or Fréchet Inception Distance are used. For text models, metrics such as BLEU or ROUGE are common. These metrics help in refining models to meet desired standards.
Ethical Considerations and Safety: As Generative AI capabilities grow, it’s crucial to understand ethical considerations, including biases in generated data and potential misuse. Many training courses, such as a Generative AI Course in Hyderabad, will emphasize the importance of ethical Generative AI practices.
Conclusion
Learning Generative AI can be an exciting journey filled with discovery and innovation. Starting with a Generative AI Course in Hyderabad or participating in online Generative AI Training can open doors to understanding the potential of AI in generating creative content, aiding research, and more. From neural networks to GANs, knowing the key terms, tools, and techniques is essential for success in this field.

aot chars dealing with karens
Tumblr media
inspired from watching karen tiktoks lol
chars: jean, connie, eren, armin, mikasa, sasha, levi, historia
a/n: feel free to insert any situation regardless of how outlandish lmao, also not proofread <3
Tumblr media
jean
He immediately tells you to start filming should something go wrong, and is trying his hardest to diffuse the situation while some white woman half his size is screeching at him. He puts himself between you and Karen the entire time. The only time he gets even a little aggressive is when Karen starts targeting you. Jean eventually ushers you out of the store when Karen gets distracted with one of the workers.
connie
Plays dumb the entire time and honestly finds it a little funny. You have to drag him away from the woman because Connie’s just instigating and making things worse going “Woah, that lady is pissed!”. He’s recording the entire thing just to post it online somewhere because he thinks the whole thing is so hilarious. The lady’s trying to get at him and you’re seconds away from throwing hands with her when the cops arrive and break everything up.
eren
He’s having absolutely none of it. You’re trying to push your boyfriend away while he’s having a full blown screaming match with some random Karen. People from the next isles over are coming to see what all the commotion is and are pulling their phones out to start recording. At some point, people jump in to help you get Eren out of there because it genuinely looks like he’s about to fight this 50 year old woman howling at him over God knows what.
armin
You’re actually the one being pulled away in this scenario. Armin’s not usually that confrontational so you’ll be damned if some Karen thinks she’s gonna walk all over your sweet boyfriend over some nonsense. He’s standing between you both and trying to quiet you down while simultaneously pacifying the fuming older woman opposite you two. Armin’s eventually able to placate her with some fake apologies and pull you away. He thanks you for standing up for him but also begs you to never do that again.
mikasa
Karen actually mistook Mikasa for a guy because of her short hair and because she approached from behind so she didn’t see Mikasa’s face. You weren’t there to witness what started the argument, but you arrived just in time to hear Karen say some choice words about Mikasa’s appearance, her hair specifically. You have to basically sprint to your girlfriend as she backs this woman up into a corner, definitely about to punch her lights out. You quickly ease the tension and drag your fuming partner away while showering her in compliments about her gorgeous hair.
sasha
She’s genuinely not bothered by the altercation, if you can even call it that. The lady was looking over the seat of the booth she shared with Sasha, all the while with a pompous look on her face as she made snarky comment after snarky comment. “You’re gonna get fat if you eat so much.” “It’s so unladylike to eat like that, and so much of it to.” Sasha barely hears her, she’s too busy stuffing her face and occasionally staring at your phone where you’re recording the whole ‘interaction’. The Karen and her family leave before you two, and gives Sasha a disgusted look as she passes by your guy’s booth. Sasha goes, "What's her problem?”
levi
He’s not putting up with it, not in the slightest. Levi doesn’t even acknowledge Karen, let alone entertain her antics. He has a hand on the small of your back and makes you walk slightly ahead of him since the Karen is following you both from behind. He’s well aware of her movements and hears everything she’s spewing at him, and simply ignores every bit of it. The only time he actually sacrifices his attention to them is when Karen’s arrogant husband shows up and wants to fight him, in which Levi gives him some very not child-friendly words to hang onto.
historia
She gives you a confused look, both of you not even realizing what’s going on when the Karen approaches you. Her first solution is to kill them with kindness, where she tries to appease Karen and maybe help her out while also trying to make some small talk. If this doesn’t work, Historia eventually gets fed up and snaps. Those Christa-l crystal blue eyes are shooting daggers at Karen, and Historia leaves them stunned and shocked as she grabs your hand and huffs away.

Cursed
It was late afternoon when Adrian woke up from his much-needed Saturday sleep in, after the insane week he just had at the office. He was so fast asleep that for once, he had not been woken up when Ellie had snuck out of bed in the middle of the afternoon, getting on quietly with her business around his apartment, as she often did most week-ends if she was staying over.
He probably would have slept longer if it had not been from the sudden racket that echoed across the penthouse and that made Adrian jump in alert. For a second he worried that it might be a burglary, or some kind of home invasion scenario, judging from the sounds of tumbling kitchenware and slamming doors. That was until he could make out above the dim a series of curse words and groans, making him smile and shake his head with a chuckle: Ellie was clearly up to something, and whatever it was, it was not going according to plan.
Slowly getting up to head towards the crime scene, he looked around for the shirt he had tossed aside before going to bed and let out a long, amused sigh when he could not find it, understanding that it was probably worn by the woman currently tearing his kitchen apart. She always did that.
Giving up on the shirt and quickly putting on his black sweatpants, he carefully pried the door open to have a sneak peek at what was going on out there.
His suspicions were quickly confirmed. Ellie was busy rummaging through the kitchen cupboards, the rest of the room a mess, mumbling and swearing in turn at the kitchen appliances and at her tablet, her shorts and his shirt covered in flour and stains of unidentifiable origin. He had no idea what the hell she was ranting about, but it was clear from the smells hanging around the living room and the open plan kitchen that she had tested a new recipe – probably from an online blog, judging on the way she insulted the tablet resting on the counter – and that it was not a success.
Adrian could not help but keep observing her from his spot with an amused grin, Ellie too absorbed by her battle against the universe to notice him leaning against the doorframe. Although he was used to see her cook or bake – and usually pretty well – it was an unusual sight to see her loose her tempter. She was usually pretty calm and well-organised, enjoying the peacefulness of the activity when following a recipe, or the creativity of it when she got to be adventurous and imagine something from scratch. Her calm and composure were also something he would praise at work, as she would often help diffuse some heated negotiations or business interactions with tactful interventions, although she did lose her tempter a few times when facing particularly obnoxious individuals.
Seeing her so worked up over a situation like this was, weirdly, a heart-warming sight for Adrian. He’d much rather watch her get angry at a misbehaving blender than at one of Lester’s disgusting innuendos. However, he’d probably better intervene sooner rather than later, more particularly before she could notice him standing there, potentially getting her even more worked up thinking he was mocking her.
Finally making a move towards the kitchen, he cleared his throat lightly to avoid startling her and pissing her off over more, greeting her as casually as his amusement allowed it. “Hey beautiful! Everything all right?”.
She swirled around abruptly, her hands filled with random items she had just grabbed from the pantry, the surprise her eyes quickly shifting to annoyance. “Does it look like everything is all right?!” she snapped, before letting out a long groan and rolling her eyes seconds after seeing Adrian’s reaction.
She hated when he looked so contrite and innocent whenever she was in a bad mood, like a deer caught in the headlights. She hated how cute it made him look and how guilty it made her feel for snapping at him for no decent reason. She hated how much it made her swoon even more. *Damn you, Adrian Raines!*
Adrian held back a smile, fully capable by now to read her facial expression and the changes in her heartbeat to know when he was gaining ground during moments like that – as rare as they were. Stepping a little closer and taking in the view of the carnage she had made of the kitchen, he risked asking, “Care to explain what the issue is and how I can help, maybe?”.
Ellie sighed once more, still fumbling around the room searching for something and cursing under her breath. “That…. ‘effin… dumbass… recipe… has all the proportions wrong….” she grunted behind clenched teeth, barely intelligible, knocking angrily her tablet aside in a small cloud of flour.
“And now… I’ve used up all of the right ingredients… and have been trying to find adequate alternatives for the last hour….”. She let out another annoyed grunt while turning her back to him and stepping back to investigate the top shelf of one of the cupboards, obviously still distracted by her mission, dead set on rescuing this failed recipe at all costs.
“And I guess the alternatives did not work out?”, Adrian risked softly, trying to make sense of all the discarded items and used pots abandoned across the room.
“Nope. It did not” she replied with an annoyed sigh. “Nothing worked, and now I am out of alternatives, or I can’t find anything in this damn kitchen!... oh, and your blender and food processors are shit, by the way!”. Slamming the door of the cupboard shut, she raised her hands in the air as if cursing at the universe, her fists tight in defiance, still her back to Adrian.
Settling his back against the kitchen island to watch the scene, Adrian couldn’t help but smile. Yes, she had made a mess of the place and had probably destroyed his blender and food processor. Yes, she also had ruined his shirt in the process. And yes, she had been unnecessarily sharp in her answers to him just a few minutes before. But damn, she was so adorable when she got so passionate about things like this! Her tiny figure, only covered by her shorts and his stolen shirt, standing in front of him pointing her fists at the sky, was a sight that had to be reckoned with.
Her hair was a mess, tied in a loose bun, because she didn’t bother brushing them on days off like this. Her feet were covered in flour and other bits of random ingredients that had fallen to the floor, because she would always walk around the apartment bare feet. Her shirt – well, his – had barely a few buttons fastened, because she never bothered too much with these in the first place, and she always got too hot when she was moving around the house. Her cheeks were flushed, and the tips of her ears were pink from the exertion caused by her fumbling and cursing around. She had food stains up to her elbows, and from what he could see, something must have splattered in front of her at some point – likely due to his faulty blender, he deduced - because she had some tiny stains scattered all across her cleavage. Adrian loved being able to see this side of her, far from the professional look that he would see around the office on working nights.
When Ellie turned around, done with her complaints to the gods, she was still fuming, but interrupted her mumbling when she saw the smirk on Adrian’s face. “What?”, she grunted once more, standing straight in front of him, her hand on her hip, taunting him. “You think my pain and misery are funny, don’t you?!”.
Adrian chuckled at her adorable angry pout, and smiled even wider than before. “No at all” he reassured her, with the usual gentle tone that he would always use in casual conversation.
He then made a move to step closer, his eyes suddenly bright with mischief, his gait and his gaze nearly predatory. Swiftly bridging the gap between them to stand right before her and force her to lie back against the kitchen counter, he settled his hands on the marble behind her to girdle her tiny, dishevelled form. His face now only inches from hers, he then simply added, with the lowest, huskier voice he could manage “I was just thinking that… you’re so fucking hot when you’re mad”.
Taken aback by both Adrian’s sudden closeness and by the gleam in his eyes, it took Ellie a few seconds to register what he had just said. Her eyes darting between his clear blue eyes and the discarded ingredients on the kitchen island behind him, she grunted slightly, her brain still too worked up to figure out what she could answer to that. Or whether she should answer at all.
“Yeah… right”, she only managed to mumble with a line drawn between her brows, clearly not convinced, before trying to wriggle herself out of Adrian’s encaging arms. However, the vampire would not budge. And there was nothing she could do against it.
“I think we should really try to work on your anger management, Miss Reed”, he purred in her ear, his breath hot on her skin, making her shiver despite the heat her body had been accumulating from her restless afternoon.
Finally drawing a breath and taking the time to stare back at Adrian properly, she felt her cheeks flush instantly, finally noticing the wicked grin gracing his features as his eyes kept darting between her mouth, her cheeks, and the vivid pulse throbbing in her neck.
*Damn you, Adrian Raines!* Damn him and that damn mischievous grin that wouldn’t leave these lips. Now, she was that stupid deer caught in the headlights! And he was fully aware of it.
Relinquishing how the tempo of her heartbeat had changed so quickly after he had trapped her, Adrian didn’t feel like anything could stop him from continuing to tease her. This was way too much fun, seeing her all dishevelled and fuming, confused between her previous state and the new sensory cues he was subjecting her too. This was way too delicious. And she was damn too fucking hot when she was mad.
Taking a step closer to trap her further between his body and the kitchen counter, he brushed a finger up along her arm, before tracing the shape of her clavicle on his way down her chest, reaching for the hem of the stained shirt she was wearing, and giving it a gentle tug.
“Is that my shirt?”, he questioned softly with an arch brow, his tone clearly teasing her as if about to reprimand her about it, his voice low and husky.
“Well…” She straightened herself, matching his false daring glare. “It was. Now it’s mine.” Her tone was challenging, her stance fierce, and her poker-face intact.
However, there was nothing she could do against Adrian’s hyper-senses and the way he could hear the blood rushing to her ears, feel the way her body temperature suddenly peaked, and see the goosebumps on her chest where his fingers had just trailed.
“Oh is it, now?” he chuckled, slowly drawing his finger down along the fabric, his eyes challenging hers. “Well, I'm sorry if I have to disagree with you, but I don't recall agreeing to this".
Ellie was boiling inside. Not that it had anything to do with anger and frustration any more. Maybe it had to do with the way he was looking at her. Or the low rumble of his voice that she could feel vibrate against her skin where their bodies touched. Or maybe it had to do with how his bare chest was pressing against her, his strong arms on either side of her acting as both a physical obstacle and a wicked temptation, the dark lines of his tattooed brand nearly brought to life as his muscles twitched and flexed, alert.
But she could not cave now. Not yet. She had to keep that poker face on, as long as she could. It was a matter of pride. Or maybe she just enjoyed playing the game.
“Well, not much you can do about it, Mr Raines, now that it's ruined", she simply stated, holding his daring glare, and putting a hand on his chest to make him back off *as if she wanted him to*.
“I don't care that it's ruined” he insisted, edging his mouth closer to hers to command, “I want it back".
His gaze did not waver, even when he noticed the way her pupils dilated at his words and the way her breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding louder in her chest, although she did her best to keep her composure.
“Fine", she blurted out, suddenly pushing him a few steps back, hastily reaching for the front of the shirt to undo the few buttons that she had bothered to fasten earlier in the day.
A flicker of a smile finally graced her face, mischievous, upon seeing Adrian’s eyes finally shifting away from hers to watch her fingers work on the fabric, their colour subtly darkening as more skin became exposed. His irises had completely turned to that mesmerizing gold that she knew so well by the time she had opened the blouse, revealing her round breasts unceremoniously and shrugging off the white material quickly, eager to shove it in his hands as an excuse to close the gap between them.
“Happy now?”, she grinned, pressing her body flush against his, pushing him backwards in the process until their motion was stopped by the cold marble of the kitchen island behind him.
“Can’t you tell?” he teased, subtly grinding his hips against her as he tossed the shirt to the floor to free his hands and grab her backside firmly.
That was it. That stiffness pressed proudly against her and those callous hands pulling her towards it were the end of her composure. And of Adrian’s as well, for that matter. A genuine and cheeky smile now lighting up her face and eyes dark with need, she threw her arms around his neck to reach for his mouth, locking her fingers in his hair to pull him closer so that she could wipe that stupid smirk from his face.
She kissed him as fiercely as she could, their lips clashing against each other in a wet mess of flesh and teeth, Ellie wriggling against his chest furiously as Adrian was trying to take over the control of their embrace.
Their dance had nothing gracious or flirtatious anymore. It was a fiery battle of mouths, grabbing and pulling, although both of them were wearing the same playful grin on their lips every time their eyes met and battled for control.
The endorphins in her body were sending confusing signals to her brain, torn between the will to prove herself feisty and able to dictate the game – which she was, as they both knew it already-, and the desire to let Adrian show her how much he wanted her right now.
Adrian was doing his best to hold back his strength and his urges, savouring the way the tension Ellie had accumulated from her frustrating culinary experiment had slowly morphed into a very different kind of tension under his touch and devouring eyes.
The satisfaction he was feeling from seeing her respond to him so well was not even about the power he knew he could have over her in moments like this. Because she had just as much power over him. It was about that trust that they were carefully building together and that allowed them to be themselves with each other. The kind of trust that could free you from your deepest insecurities and help you explore truly who you were. And although Adrian once thought that there was no more corner of himself that was left to unveil, she had gradually made him realise that he was wrong. And he wanted her to be empowered to do the same. Empowered to explore and discover who she was, and define who she wanted to be. And in this moment, she was entitled to express her frustration and blow it off in any she wanted to, even if the reason for her initial outburst was trivial and kind of amusing. He would stand by and take her cues, although incredibly eager to watch it all unravel under his eyes and against his skin.
The fire and hunger in her eyes and in her touch were not making it easy, though. Nor was the warmth of her chest against his and of her fingers playing with the hem of his sweatpants.
“I know the shirt was yours…” she chuckled between kisses, breathless, as she felt his hands fumbling with the waistband of her shorts. “… but I don't recall these ever belonging to you, Mr Raines". Her eyes were daring and mischievous. She was clearly enjoying their little power-play as much as he was. And it was intoxicating.
“Fair point, miss Reed” he conceded, before letting his lips trail down her throat. “But I do recall you assuring me very, very clearly, multiple times over the last few weeks, that what was underneath did belong to me”.
Ellie could not stop the giggle that escaped her lips at his words, the warmth pooling dangerously between her thighs and her cheeks flushing brightly as glimpses of the moments Adrian was referring to flashed in her head. By the time she had managed to pull herself back in the moment, he had already made quick work of the last bits of clothing she had left, and had taken advantage of that brief distraction to lift her from the ground. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, too aroused by now to keep pretending she had not been craving for this all along.
“So, where shall we take this, Miss Reed?” he whispered in her ear, his smile warm but his eyes dark with lust.
Ellie stared at him with hunger for a few seconds, taking the time to nip at his bottom lip as if carefully evaluating their options. “Hum… we wouldn’t want to make a mess of your bedroom, with all that flour and grime on me, wouldn’t we, Mr Raines?”.
“On this we can fully agree”, he muttered against her lips, before claiming her mouth again, her lips parting invitingly so that their tongues could meet.
Their kiss was long, gentle, and agonizingly chaste at first, but it took merely seconds for their heated bodies to yield to the yearning for each other once more, as if the dam that had been holding down their urges up to that point had now finally collapsed with a spectacular bang. Breathless and dizzy, Adrian could feel his legs stagger dangerously with the frenzy of Ellie’s kisses and the tantalizing way she was shamelessly slithering up and down against him, using all of her upper body strength to grind her hips along his length.
The next thing they knew, she was sat on the edge of the kitchen counter, his hips working urgently between her legs. Her fingers digging in his back. Her heels pressed into the back of his thighs, still covered by the fabric of his pants as none of them could have been bothered to pull them further down than what was required. Her mouth was devouring every inch of his chest, muffling the cries that she could not control any more.
Lost in the comfort of their entwined bodies and echoing moans, Ellie could not remember how the hell this all started in the first place. Her earlier furious complaint to the gods was now long forgotten, only to be replaced by curses of a very different kind.

How to Learn in the Modern World
Recently, I took a Coursera course "Learn How to Learn", read Scott Young's Ultra-Learning and completed Carol Dweck's Mindset. All these learnings boiled down to the "growth mindset", and how anything can be learned through time if there's enough motivation, methods and devotion.
It is vital to learn at any age as it grows oneself and keeps one up with the world. However, learning in a digital age can be challenging because distractions are everywhere. It takes a lot of self drive and discipline to learn something, not mentioning to master a skill by oneself. But what are the effective ways of learning in the modern world?
Self-learning is key
Information is available a click away. Anything can be learned and searched on the internet nowadays. Instead of traditional classroom settings, learning in the modern days requires a lot of self learning and drives from the learners themselves. The more we rely on ourselves to make progress, the better we will learn. This is true for adult and also for kids who are trying to master a certain skills. The drive has to come from the learner, otherwise all time spend can lead to poor learning results. I know friends or parents who rely on teachers when it comes to learning. A school or a program can provide the right structure for a specific topic, but they cannot cover everything in that topic. Self-learning helps learners to explore deep without the limitation on a specific frame. The frame is set by the learners themselves based on their need.
Clear goals and outcome
I am a motivated learner and I take every opportunity to listen to audio books or podcasts I love. However, without a clear goal or plan, all those learning can be random and won't yield any solid result. Through this learning projects on "how to learn", I find that setting clear goals and outcomes are vital to achieve learning results. There is the "10,000h rules" for mastering a skill, but purely counting on practice hours can be very tedious and not so fulfilling. The author of Ultra-learning Scott Young, defined his "MIT challenge" as an end goal and was able to complete the online MIT computer science program within one year. The same goes with many ultra-learners, the goal or outcome can be the motivation that drives them forward. That being said, annual or monthly projects can also be great ways to segment specific learning topics and create solid outcomes.
Focus is the pathway
The problem we have in modern days are distractions. With TV, computer, ipad, and mobile phone, Youtube, social media and internet is just one tap away. It is so easy to get lost in the mindless scrolling zone and feel excited to want more. Getting focused means we can avoid distractions and control our time the way we wanted to. We have to be alert not to let our device control our mind, and we need to set specific time for learning. I am a very focused person once I am in the flow, but I have a hard time getting into the tasks initially. A show or a video can lead to endless exploration if I don't watch my time carefully. So self-control of not turning on the TV or Youtube is the first step getting into focus mode.
Learning by teaching
The best way to learn is to teach. I definitely know this very well since I used to teach. There are many topics I learned on the fly and had to teach the next day in classroom. I still remember when I had to teach a design history class, I literally spend the whole break to prepare my materials. I practice 2-3 times before I enter the classroom, making sure that I can answer any questions the students come up. It helped me learn the history of design tremendously! With that in mind, it's important to frame the learning outcomes into some sort of presentation that can be shared to an audience. Even by writing a blog article can help transfer the knowledge we learned into our own words, thus enhance our learning results.
Through the exploration on learning this month, I was also reminded to things I have applied during my school year. The following learning methods worked great for me either on learning art or language.
Everyday practice is essential
My first art teacher told me "drawing every 10min is better than drawing 2hours per week". I applied that into my process of learning art and English. My progress was very obvious after practicing everyday for a whole one semester. Now looking back, I know the power of everyday learning. The magic of absorbing and transferring knowledge will work itself out when we rest and sleep (aka diffuse mode).
Rest and working out helps learning
As a Chinese student, I experienced 12+ learnings hours everyday in high school. Many parents even rented house right next to school, so their children can walk to school within 5 min. My home was 30+ min away biking from school. At that time it was an inconvenient distance for me because I lose 1 hour of study time in comparison to other classmates. Now looking back, I know how that 1 hour of biking everyday helped me tremendously to stay physically and mentally healthy. Sleeping, resting and working out does help learning. Our brain really need that diffuse time to absorb and work the problem out.
Time spent doesn't equal to what you learned
Many inefficient learning involves spending lots of time, but yield no significant results. As a matter of fact, highlighting books or taking notes can be a disguise to our brain that we are actually learning something. Despite how much time we spent and thinking that we know something already, if we don't test ourselves and recall what's been learned, everything we just learned can easily slip away. From my experience, I know that I spend lots of time taking courses, but I dislike the test or exam part. However, if we don't face the uncomfortable feeling when it comes to learning, things we learn won't last that long.
Besides the things that I already knew and applied, I also learned several important things that can help me in my future learning projects. The following are the new things I learned about learning:
Define learning goals - monthly theme, weekly goals etc
Spend 20% of the learning time on looking for resources, methods and frame learning
Make focus time, take notes and test often about the knowledge point
Direct learning with projects, get real feedbacks from presentation, teaching and writing.
Learning in chunks, solve one part of the problem at a time, and eventually things will connect itself
The only way to beat procrastinate is to get started (even just for 25min)
Face the area that doesn't make you comfortable, deal with difficult feelings
Find the right medium to learn
Digital Courses (Coursera, Udemy, Lynda.com, Treehouse, Skill Share)
Books/ Audio Books
Web Articles / Blogs
Twitter / Youtube
Talk to experts
From this project about learning, I have refreshed my eyes and mind on self-improvement. Every month from now on, I hope to define a specific topic that I want to explore, and I will focus on the topic when I read books, browse the web and watch videos. At the end of the month, I will write a blog article or build a presentation that I can share with someone. This is the plan for a brand new 2021. We will see how it goes!

What song makes you feel better?
Ooo, this really depends on a lot of stuff. But weirdly, one song I go to a lot is Tubthumping by Chumbawumba. The names really tell you the vibe of the song >w>' it's silly- too silly to really take much seriously when you're listening to it, so it gradually cheers me up that way. But it's mostly the chorus bit that does it.
"I get knocked down, but I get up again! You are never gonna keep me down!"
Repeated over and over again with pride and happiness like a football chant.
It's the kind of mood that's just infectious, it's a crowd celebrating something, enjoying where and who they are. Pair that with the message in those lines, and, I dunno. It just really helps me~
_
what’s your favorite candle scent?
Oh this one is tough. My sense of smell isn't that great, usually I can smell a candle if I pick it up and sniff it, but when it's lit I don't tend to smell anything. There are very few candles I can light and smell in the room. So I tend to just pick candles based on colour tbh x'D
One thing I do love though is oil diffusers. A few drops of violet essential oil in the water, it comes out as steam, makes the place smell really nice.
_
What flower would you like to be given?
Aww, that's a cute one~ I'd love to be given any flower really, but if I have to pick... I'd say a sunflower. I think it'd be really funny to have someone pull this giant flower from behind their back and hand it over. X')
_
Say three nice things about yourself (three physical and three non-physical).
That's six! You can't fool me there >w> buuuuut fine.
Physical: I like my eye colour, I've got a general hourglass shape that I like, and I'm told I have very comfortable shoulders to lean on? Haha
Non-physical: I'm fairly intelligent, have a lot of patience when I need it, and I'm pretty weird, which is often funny for other people x')
_
What calms you down?
If I'm anxious, I have a few apps on my phone I can use that usually help. 'What's Up' is a great one, it has different tools you can use like grounding exercises and retargeting your thoughts and stuff. I also have games on there like Zen Koi and Alto's Odyssey, which I find relaxing. They're not too complicated to manage but they do grab my attention and have chill music on them.
If I'm calming down from being angry.... Dogs. I find if a dog comes up to me for a hug or something, I have to relax my muscles more, I have to be gentle with them and reassure them that it's all okay, it's like a conscious effort I make for their sake. So it puts a stop to my stressing out long enough for me to just start enjoying the fact that I have a dog. ^^
_
What’s your ideal date?
Ooo good question...
At the minute I can't really date at all with my health being this bad, so I'd probably go for a casual date where we play a low-pressure game together at home. I'm talking battleship, tetris, any Super Mario game that has a multiplayer feature, Snipperclips, Jenga, Wii tennis, anything. Just us chilling, having a little bit of playful rivalry maybe, a few healthy snacks~ that would be awesome. Some of these games we could even play from two separate places with a video call going, which would mean I wouldn't have to push myself to host or leave the house or even force myself to shower in advance; I could even stay in bed and just prop myself up with some pillows if I really needed to, take a laptop and we could go play something online maybe.
In the future though (because I really hope I'll improve eventually and get some of my life back) I'd still love the more casual fun dates, but not stuck inside. I'd love to go minigolfing and be terrible at it so we can both laugh at my awful shots, and I'll do some hopeless ironic trash talk and then lose by a mile~
I'd like to have a dog we can walk together. We could go to a quiet beach, which will probably be cold and muddy because it's England but we'll let the dog loose and smile at how much fun they're having, maybe play fetch or something, and then at the end be so so grateful that we thought to put old towels over the back seats of the car for our very very happy, very very very wet dog~
It'd be fun to go to a theme park together, or walk around a garden centre and plan out a garden we'll probably never get around to. Or a zoo! That'd be a great date place, a zoo, or SeaWorld, both are good.
I'd like to go for ice cream and sit on some random grassy bank to eat it together. To go to an art gallery with a camera and most of my photos would just be of my date seeing something she likes~ maybe I could even take a sketchbook too, and I could draw her in the styles and/or poses of whichever pieces she wants me to, while she poses in ridiculous funny ways and makes me laugh so much that I have to stop and then we move to the next room.
I've been too ill for too long and had so much emotional crap in my life, I wouldn't choose the rigid restaurant dates with all the same rules and the pressure, or strive to try and be the most romantic couple or whatever else.
For me, what I'd value most is being able to get out of the house and enjoy the world, and having a date with a light-hearted atmosphere.
_
How are you?
Tired as always! X') but for real, today has actually been okay. The last few days have been really rough pain-wise, but it hasn't been quite as bad today, so hopefully it'll ease off back to normal from here~ I've also been pretty productive in the last two days so I'm very happy with myself rn ^^
_
What’s your comfort food?
I have a couple! Chocolate, of course, is a classic one (chocolate peanuts in particular are something I reach for for comfort). And also, a hot pasta-based meal like lasagna or, heck just pasta in a nice sauce will do. Those meals are more like the comfort of being warm and homely, the kind of thing I might love if I were really tired and feeling sorry for myself, while chocolate peanuts are the "I'm upset so I'm eating my feelings" food. X')
_
Do you still love stuffed animals?
Of course! I don't have tons all over my bed purely because it's inconvenient, but I do keep two huge ones- a dog and a shark- on top of my wardrobe, and my littlest childhood friend is always in my room somewhere~
His name is Scruffy, and right now he's sleeping in my crystal box (open) on top of all the empty velvet bags. ^^ I used to take him everywhere, cuddle him every night as a slept.. he usually smelled pretty gross because I never wanted to give him up to be washed, haha X) thankfully he doesn't have that problem now~
_
What’s something you do to de-stress?
This might sound lame but, jigsaw puzzles. It has to be real ones, at the table with some music in my headphones. If I can't do that for whatever reason, I go to the bathroom and run cold water over my wrists for a minute or two, over the veiny side. It's kind of a mini cleansing ritual. I sometimes combine that with some deep breaths and imagine the water is literally washing the stress out of me, and it really does help. It's something I can do quickly and easily, I can just do it while or after washing my hands or something and that's that~
_
Hugs or hand-holding?
Hmm... prolonged, I'm not a huge fan of either? Eventually if you're holding hands it's like, when do you let go? What if your hand gets warm and clammy, or sweaty? Same with like a cuddle. Once you're in it, how do you say "hey I'm kind of uncomfortable now, this physical contact has gone on too long"? You don't want to be rude, and it might be hard to explain, so you've probably got to blame on being too warm even if you're not, and then that's a lie, and.. it's just awkward.
A regular hug though, that's okay. It can last longer than usual and still not be a problem, because at least, you know, you won't be hugging for half an hour, at some point soon you'll let go. And it feels nice, you know? From someone I care about and trust anyway~ it's like a physical way of saying "I love you" and it's nice to have someone's arms holding you, to wrap yours around them and just hold them tight.. you both feel warm inside and secure and wanted. I wouldn't be keen on a hug from a stranger or an acquaintance, even a new-ish friend. But someone who's close to me? All the hugs. Give me the hugs, let me hug you back, many many hugs. X)
_
Morning, afternoon or night?
Night! Actually I love those really early mornings, you know when the air still has that kind of... Crispness to it. That is amazing. But I'm never awake for that anymore.
(^▽ ^;)ゞ
_
What reminds you of home?
Thunderstorms, loud planes overhead, chinook noises, soft hugs when I'm upset, mum's cooking, pictures of our old dog Harvey, little fluffy dogs running about.
Most of this is easy to figure out I'm sure, but I do want to talk about the first couple.
Until the age of 11 my family lived on a military air base, so there were always big planes taking off and landing, and I really do mean always. We learned the difference between some of them by sound. I could be sat at home and we'd hear one and know, that had to be a Herc landing (landing always sounded different to taking off), or a teacher would have to stop talking at school to let one go by, and everyone knew that one was a VC10. (VC10s are the LOUDEST thing I have ever heard to this day. I'd probably still recognise one now~)
We also saw and heard Chinooks a lot. Now for anyone who doesn't know, those are the weird helicopters that have two... Fan parts? I don't actually know what they're called. X') (I looked it up, they're called rotors!) They kinda look like the bit of a retro telephone that you'd pick up and hold to your face.
Tumblr media
Now having two rotors means that they can carry a Lot of weight, but it also means they don't sound like normal helicopters do. The two rotors are timed out so that the blades from each side can go through the same middle space without hitting each other, Left blade then right blade then left then right then left, and you can kind of hear it happening. Instead of the kind of 'Wubbubbubbubbubbub' of normal helicopters, a chinook sounds more like 'Wokka wokka wokka wokka'.
Where I am now, we only hear some small jets once a week at most when they take practice flights, and sometimes a normal police or ambulance helicopter. It took me a long time to get used to the quiet of most places, and sometimes I miss all the overhead noise we had back then.
And we got so many thunderstorms! Every single summer, usually at night. Now that I think about it the pollution from all the aircraft might have been involved in this too. >w>" But I loved it. We'd all gather in mum's room and open the curtains wide to watch. My little sister was scared of thunder back then so it was better for her to have people around and to make it fun. I was always just excited! And I still get that way if I hear thunder now~

Karting Company Over Copyright Breach.
8 months' work through computer system joiners, designers and developers has verified something that had been questioned for centuries: the maker laid out through record's most functional brilliant in or around 1478 really techniques. Why this concerns: There are actually many excellent services to help you keep your eyes when driving while driving However a dedicated car mount as well as car-friendly app are extra benefits that could help you along with navigating and avoid the inescapable dig for your phone's whereabouts. I know individually that Mercedes has actually superb paint as compared to Honda as I own cars and trucks off both producers. Some customers on the Maps Beta are observing rate limitation indications appear in when driving utilizing both the Android application as well as along with Android Vehicle. U.S. carriers, like AT&T and also Verizon Wireless, have been aiming to create this easier as well as less costly for mobile phone subscribers to utilize their cellular phone when traveling in one more nation And undoubtedly they possess. Newer technology uses sound or a resonating steering tire to sharp motorists when the cars are skiding right into another lane without the signal light on. Nissan is actually aiming to improve content from English vendors due to the threat from tolls on components, which may travel a number of opportunities between the UK and other EU countries throughout the building and construction from an automobile. Yet along with the provider launching a line from self-driving cars in San Francisco, that might transform. This's perfectly typical for your mum to think about your safety when you are actually journeying. To link, tune the cars and truck to an empty broadcast station as well as the music and also phone calls are going to stream to the radio. Cut the Rope: Opportunity Travel is a fun as well as original challenge activity that has been wonderfully optimized for contact display screen terminals. Walking around Fallout 4, I encountered unmarked tombs, concealed prize, errant terminals in random left buildings, a traveling bartender, some concealed caves. Because this is the initial automotive series from the year, a lot - like, more than a baker's lots - of brand-new vehicles were offered. www.kenyes-szepseg.info to the fact that Google knows where my home possesses and is actually access to my hunt setups, that makes sending addresses to the car simple. The entire aspect of Android Auto is actually that it's expected to be hands-free, yet I do not trust Android Automobile to do away with distracted steering entirely. We possess the very best as well as high-end automobiles to offer our offer auto rental ticketing services to all consumers. Having said that, they are actually commonly made use of for resolution of the halides, chloride (Cl-), bromide (Br-) and also iodide (I-), utilizing silver nitrate (AgNO3) as the titrant. When you've made use of a number of these apps, locate the car that corrects for you and also stroll belong your credit score all set, expertise from rates, as well as get exactly what you really want for the appropriate price. Atop avoiding boredom during the trip period, these tools will definitely additionally make certain you're not tired at the terminal or airport. More than 25 automobile brands have subscribed to feature Android Automotive in the future, Brady added, as well as the initial automobiles appropriate with Android Vehicle are due out before the end from the year. The records is actually made use of to calculate premiums - the far better the vehicle is steered, the reduced the premium and the other way around. Matt diminished the stairways and also out to his auto; after that he hastened to the police station and also scampered straight to Detective Nitch's workplace. That is necessary that the titration be actually conducted quickly in diffuse lighting as photodecomposition of the silver chloride provides the service purple, making it challenging to know the dull pink end factor sign off the purple background. Rather than take you on an experience to the world's forgotten edges, he is actually taking you on a vacation through traveling literature. People cherish not having to take a brand-new (to them) vehicle in for repairs today. But this is actually thus fleeting, in A disappointment, largely considering that I so like Gleick's earlier works (Chaos: Making a New Science, Wizard: The Life as well as Science of Richard Feynman, The Details: A Past, a Theory, a Flooding particularly are amazing), as well as due to the fact that I was actually (mis) led to expect a demanding and incisive comparison of the way Time Travel has actually been actually made use of in literary works and also motion pictures - a typography demonstrating how TT mechanics vary between the flicks Primer and also Looper. Everybody said to Danny he was also brief to participate in baseball, or even be actually any efficient that. Also the instructor of the local area travel group assumed this. If I want to listen to all of them on my experience, I must stop Android Automobile as well as button to the recipient's auxiliary setting. Provided, Electronically Imported is one popular music app from hundreds in the Google.com Play Store, yet I want to have the capacity to handle that coming from that enormous touchscreen in the middle of the automobile rather than purposely concealing the phone from the California Freeway Watch while evasion with tracks. The car abruptly stopped its progress, slinging Lisa from the steering tire with bone tissue disconcerting force. Starting off along with the low - a breakup - and ending on a higher - being actually the boss from an honor succeeding traveling company - as well as the 80s karaoke and also hasten courting between, this book made me laugh so much and made me think therefore really good. Just what is actually very costly listed below other after that the cars and truck service which is actually higher, I highly suggest getting added rocks insurance policy. Tumblr media
I've admitted before that even though I might not be the most efficient shopper , when I do make a purchase, I commit—wholeheartedly. This is probably why countless friends, family members, and colleagues are always amazed by the must-have products I've discovered over the years on Amazon. You see, even though I loathe the crowds of Fifth Avenue in NYC (or the mall back home in suburbia), I am not so secretly a wizard when it comes to finding the best products lurking within the behemoth online retailer. And, of course, while I prefer to shop small, there are just some items that are more efficient and affordable to purchase online. So keeping the keyword "affordable " in mind, I pulled together a list of 31 random things I've found on Amazon that people always ask me about. From fashion basics and trendy accessories to nicely priced beauty must-haves and even a few tech gadgets and wellness essentials , all of the below products are easily sourced on Amazon and can be added to your cart with just a few clicks. Even better? Every single item on this list clocks in under $50. Still skeptical? Keep scrolling—you're bound to be pleasantly surprised. Barrettes are still a big trend this year, and buying them in a 10-pack ensures you'll always have one handy in a bag or coat pocket. I wore these tights to a chic winter wedding and was pleasantly surprised not only by how they kept me warm when walking from the ceremony to the venue but also how durable they were on the dance floor. I also acquired this for said wedding. I needed a little sparkle to enhance my all-black ensemble but didn't have time to shop around for a splurge. This simple tennis bracelet did the trick in a pinch—and got me so many compliments! It has been said that these Amazon Essentials tees are comparable to the fashion-girl favorites from Madewell. They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. You also have to try on a lot of leggings before you find the perfect fit. Go ahead—take these for a spin. You might think that you don't need to opt into the shearling trend this season, and you would be wrong. At this price point, this is a cozy coat you can feel good about buying now (and probably wearing every day until spring). Cuticle oil wasn't even on my radar until I interviewed several nail professionals last year, but after using this top-selling Amazon product, I'm hooked (and so are my mom and sister). No joke, I hand these zit stickers out like candy. My boyfriend and best friend are also big fans. I've waxed poetic about the Wet Brush before, but this product has single-handedly saved my fine hair from serious breakage. I have multiple that I stash in my bedroom, bathroom, and suitcase. I am so 2000 and late on this, but after speaking with several skincare pros, I got turned onto this toner. It was a simple step to add to my routine, but my skin has never felt cleaner or looked better. I used to think that I was so diligent about taking off all of my makeup before bed. A few swipes of this MakeUp Eraser and I realized how much residue was actually getting left behind (ew, gross). Try it and you'll see for yourself! Everyone at Who What Wear who has experienced this magical Revlon machine is hooked. It works great on different hair textures, and at this price, it is absolutely worth buying now. I'm all about setting achievable goals in 2020, and maximum hydration is at the top of my list. This is a low-lift way to do the most for the delicate skin around your eyes, especially during the winter months. Hydration and moisturizing go hand in hand, so you know I am slathering myself in this classic CeraVe cream after every shower. So you want healthy skin, some anti-aging action, retinol, a slight tint, and SPF? How's this for an affordable skincare solution? Not only does this Korean hand treatment feel luxurious, but it also forces me to put down my phone for a few minutes and be in the moment. Win-win. I live in New York City, which means I rarely get to drive anywhere. However, I discovered this product when I was at home for the holidays and immediately purchased multiples to give to my parents and car-owning friends. The universal design works in any type of vehicle and uses magnets to hold up the phone instead of a clunky contraption. Even better? Two come in a set, so you can keep one and give another to a pal. Because I live in NYC and don't drive, I like to keep my MetroCard handy. These pocket stickers are super durable and adhere to a case or caseless phone. I bought these ahead of a long-haul flight to South Africa last year, and have no idea how I traveled without noise-canceling headphones before. They're cheap enough that you don't have to beat yourself up if they get lost in transit but also durable and work great. Unfortunately, I did lose my AirPods on a flight recently. I sucked it up and purchased a new pair along with this bright silicon case—so far, so good. Is it just me, or are these things always in short supply? I like this 10-foot power cable and find it charges faster than the one that came with my phone. So you want to test out a few essential oils but aren't sure where to start? Here, start right here. And get this diffuser, too. I have one at home and another at the office for maximum zen. If taking a gummy vitamin can help me avoid getting sick, why not? These are a top seller on Amazon. You know you're getting older when you actually start singing the praises of dietary supplements. Curious about collagen peptides? This Vital Proteins powder is easy to integrate into your morning routine. I have been taking biotin for years. While some pills can taste chalky or bitter, this brand is totally palatable. This sleep stick is the gift that keeps on giving! Well, I keep giving it to people, and then they give it to someone else, and so on… I used to live in a really bright, eastern-facing apartment and wore this sleep mask religiously. (I am not a morning person.) Now, I mostly keep this sleep mask on hand for flights. It is very soft and helps me relax. These resistance bands are easy to stash in a suitcase for workouts on vacation—and take up way less space than running shoes. Ready to start your plant collection? Succulents are an easy way to add greenery to your home—you'll become a plant person in no time. As I said, hydration is key, but single-use plastics are a definite don't. I like to keep this big water bottle at my desk and refill it at least three times a day. Up next: 82 Random But Essential Items We're Buying Right Now on Amazon

Touring Hacks Part II
Touring Hacks Part 2
Tumblr media
Greetings to my fellow performers and fellow travelers. It would seem they were are back with a second installment for hacks when you are on the road! I had no idea that part 1 would be the hit that it was and it was actually my most popular post of 2018 so I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT and say a massive thank you to everyone that read it, shared it, commented on it and took the time to feedback to me about how helpful it was.
It warmed my little nomad heart and I have to say that it made me want jump straight back into things in this beautiful New Year with this the second part of how to hack your tour.
The truth for most performers at the moment is that our work is on the road. This isn’t to discount any of my other friends part of other industries in which they are required to work, but for us performers it is becoming more and more apparent that while shows don’t seem to be regularly changing and casts seem to be remaining the same, it means getting jobs in “town” is become that little bit harder.
However it would seem the UK’s national tours are absolutely thriving, 2019 being no exception as we see major musicals like The Book of Mormon, Motown, The Bodyguard and no exception of my own job *cough* Matilda the musical *cough* hitting all the biggest regional theatres. That of course doesn’t exclude all the fantastic new seasons at all Rep’s across the country.
Anyway I digress, the point is more and more of us on the road, so here are some tips to help, cause just because we’re not at home, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be comfortable.
 Be Alarmed
I mean it, be alarming, by making sure you are alarmed. Yes that means you. Get yourself an alarm. You see the thing is most of the time we head to these towns and cities we have never been in, we got out and socialize or we walk home late at night and we don’t know the nuance of the neighborhoods and what areas are okay and which ones are not. Sometimes we are close to the theatre but sometimes we are not and it’s important that if you are doing a lot alone, you have something to protect you. So get yourself a rape alarm. Make sure you have at on you at all times. Just in case! The hope is that we remain as safe as we can as often as we can, but there it isn’t overacting to make sure you have a way of getting help should you need it.
Don’t Panic
That being said, also have a bit of balance. Do not panic. Easier said than done of course, but try and be calm in as many variable situations as you can. We want things to run smoothly and to plan but life isn’t like that and that goes for double for life on the road. Yes we want to schedule and make sure our days our structured, but we also need to make sure we leave a bit of flexibility. So if things are going belly up, if you end up having to move digs between shows (this guy), if a window falls out in your room at your digs (its happened), you have random extra rehearsals, there’s no microwave or parking at the theatre, DO NOT PANIC! It will all work out. You cannot do it all at once. So take your time and stay as calm as possible.
 VavaVroom your VaVaVoom
If you are in the UK arts industry as of last year then you’ll remember the #VaVaVoom incident, in which case I won’t go into too much detail, but least we forget. A moment of silence for an every thriving industry full of Va Va Voom.
Now that said, because you know I had to say it, let’s get to the Va Va Vroom bit.
This hack is for any of you that drive. If you can? Do it. Honestly I am trying to get my act together so I am driving before this New Year is out, but it’s an asset when you are on the road. You end up clocking miles and hours yes, but the convenience of being able to move around whatever city you are in without worry of figuring out transport and more importantly, how you’re going to get all your many belongings from A to B, it ends up being a lot more cost effective than you think.
If you’re worried about your environmental impact then that’s okay. Opt out of driving altogether or at the very least keep your driving to a minimum, choosing to walk or get the bus with shorter journeys and using public transport when you can.
Try local restaurants instead of chains
A great perk of touring the country means you get to visit places you ordinarily wouldn’t have. So why not use the opportunity to feed into the local community economics and visit local cafés and restaurants. It’s a great way to find new food and drink and you’ll probably find you spend less money than you doing visiting the same old chain restaurants.
It’s also great if like me you have really specific dietary requirements, because what I am learning is that outside of chains, restaurants and café’s tend to be much more accommodating and willing to make sure you still have the best food and the best experience.
Ask the theatre digs list
Something other performers and probably even your agent has told you to do, but this is a very important one because though a lot of the accommodation seeking has moved online for convenience, you’ll find some real gems for some great prices on the digs list. So when you are looking to book your digs, don’t ditch the digs list. Just email the theatre’s you’ll be visiting to request a copy and they’ll email it straight to you.
Stay with friends
Now if you’re really looking to save some coin this would be your best bet. Always see if you can stay with friends or friends of friends or friends of your parents. It might not always be what you were looking for but again you could stumble onto some hidden gems and more importantly save some much needed money for something else like transport or maintenance.
Limit your luggage
This is something that we all learn the hard way. You see the number of months you’ll be on the road, you factor in the fact that you probably won’t be able to get home frequently and so you pack as much as humanly possible. You even pack that outfit you don’t need but you know, have, just in case there ends up being a royal visit. Honey if there ends up being a royal visit, order something from asos.
Just make sure that you pack with purpose. Keep in mind you won’t just travel clothes. You’ll need other important items that you use day to day and if there’s no room what are you going to do, because touring three big cases just isn’t an option when every venue move means getting on a train by yourself.
Be smart. I’ve evolved through the stages of hikers backpack, to suitcase, back to backpack, back to suitcase, to two suitcases, to two suitcases and a massive backpack and thankfully I’m down to one medium sized case and a big backpack. Even then it doesn’t seem like there’s ever enough room.
Remember, plan for the time of year, your environment, your work schedule and other things you might get up to, but keep it practical.
Theatre digs website
Now back to the subject of digs (accommodation), another great way to look out for a great place to live while you’re visiting a new place is to check via www.theatredigsbooker.com It’s a website  that I have both used as a host and as a guest and I have to say, it’s really handy way to do research and know what your options are because the likelihood is that even if you find your digs through the theatre list or somewhere else online, your host will also have a posting on TDB.
You can search digs based around the distance to the theatre and a varying degree of specified options that help narrow down the search. So whether you are looking for self-contained or sharing, non-smoking or smoking and parking space, house or flat, TBD offers you all of those options.
Now you are required to pay a deposit, but I am always happy to do this if it means securing my place in a great place, and knowing that the level of service I am going to get is of a higher standard.
Plus having experienced some seriously horrible digs in my 12 months of touring, there’s a real comfort in knowing that there is someone out their regulating accommodation right now. As prices soar for both hosts and guests, it’s great to have someone meditating how we communicate, book, interact and experience.
Portable Hepa purifier and masks
Now this is something that I honestly didn’t even realise I needed until the very end of the year. Diffusers and purifiers and humidifiers have also been something that I have been aware of but I have never really entertained how it might play a part in my day to day, but it purifiers entered in from stage left and I’m ready for it to stay.
You see we have to really take care of ourselves and especially our voices, and sometimes as travel and stay in other people’s homes we can’t guarantee that things like, the air around us, will be adapted to what we might be used to at home.
I’m also an asthmatic so making sure that I protect myself from things like smoke, allergens, chemicals etc, is becoming more and more important, especially if I want to dodge being sick and even more so if I want my voice to be in working order.
So honestly looking out for a portable HEPA purifier that can just be working away in your digs room to ensure you are sleeping in the cleanest air you can. Do some real research here because there are a lot of different brands with a lot of different uses, so know what works for you and the result you are looking to get.
Leading into that, if you don’t want to travel anything like that but want to try and filter the kind of things entering into your atmosphere (cue John Mayer track) then look into the multitude of filtering masks that you can get.
There’s a reason that these are so popular in South East Asia. Pollution is a real thing you guys and it’s important to protect what’s going into your body as you spend a lot of time travelling and in other people’s spaces.
Be Mindful
It’s a brand New Year and even if it’s a New Year, but same you, it’s important to recognize that in this industry mental health is something we overlook, and if it’s not directly or actively effecting you right not in a tumultuous way, that’s no reason not to take care of it.
Something as simple as practicing mindfulness daily will affect not only your daily life but your working life. I promise you’ll find yourself being able to focus not only in your personal life but in your working life.
I like to find a few moments either before or after warm up to remove myself to a quiet space and centre myself and my thoughts. Sifting through the facts from the fiction in order to make sure I am in the space I need to be to give a great show.
There’s some great apps on the market, a lot of them free that can help assist you on a journey of mindfulness and it leads to gratitude which I promise you cannot have too much of.

Gipsy thug launches unprovoked homophobic tirade at a dancing busker
Sickening footage has emerged of a ‘gipsy’ thug launching an unprovoked homophobic tirade at a street entertainer as he performs for members of the public.
Pablo Woodward – known to his fans as ‘The Disco Bunny’ – was dancing in front of a crowd in Nottingham city centre when he was confronted by the foul-mouthed yob who demanded to know if he was gay or straight.
When he politely declined to answer, the man went off on a vile six-minute rant in which he compared homosexuals to paedophiles and repeatedly called the victim a ‘nonce’ and a ‘batty man’.
As onlookers rallied to defend Mr Woodward, the thug threw down his hoodie and offered to fight them, claiming: ‘I’m related to Paddy Doherty.’
He also verbally abused a woman, calling her a ‘Romanian mongrel’, after she said his behaviour was a ‘disgrace’ to gipsy people.
The shocking incident took place at the junction of Clumber Street and Lower Parliament Street at around 5.45pm on April 1.
The suspect – seen wearing a Batman T-shirt and sunglasses – has yet to be identified following the unprovoked attack.
Footage captured by a witness was later shared on social media and has been viewed more than 310,000 times.
The thug (right) compared homosexuals to paedophiles in a vile rant at the performer (left) in Nottingham city centre
It shows Mr Woodward standing with his hands behind his back as the stranger gets in his face and demands to know whether he likes ‘girls or boys’.
Calmly, he replies: ‘I like people.’ To which the yob snaps: ‘Yeah, but who are you sexually attracted to? Tell the truth.’
The crowd tells the man to leave him alone but he persists, saying: ‘I don’t trust you around my little boy. F****** nonce.’
The victim then reveals he has two children of his own but refuses to answer the man’s questions about his sexuality. A woman in the crowd shouts out: ‘He can like whoever the f*** he wants to like.’
In an attempt to diffuse the situation, Mr Woodward says: ‘With respect, good sir, I don’t answer every single question. What I do is let you make an opinion of me.’
But he continues his verbal onslaught, prompting another woman to step in and say: ‘My cousin’s gay. I don’t care, you don’t come across to people like that.’
The street performer was subjected to vile abuse as onlookers watched in a state of shock following the thug’s remarks
As tensions mount, the thug hurls his hoodie on the ground down and blasts: ‘I’m a gipsy. I don’t give a f***. I’m an Irish gipsy, man. I’m related to Paddy Doherty. I don’t give a f*** about no one.’
He threatens to attack bystanders who challenge him then points in the victim’s face and screams: ‘F*** you and f*** your family and f*** everyone who likes you.’
A man tries to intervene but the yob shoves him back and warns: ‘Get your hands off me. Touch me again, I will knock you out.’
He squares up to another man and takes off his shirt to try and intimidate him – drawing jeers from the crowd.
A woman also claiming to be a gipsy, says: ‘You’re a disgrace to gipsy people, that’s what you are.’
Walking away, he responds: ‘I’m a f****** real man. You’re a Romanian mongrel.’
Mr Woodward – who is from Brighton – performs under his glittery persona in towns and cities across the UK, travelling in a camper van dubbed the ‘Bunny Bus’.
He achieved internet fame in 2016 when a video of an impromptu street dance with a random elderly woman went viral – racking up more than 70 million views.
Speaking out after his recent ordeal, he said he will not let an ‘isolated incident’ of hate stop him performing.
He said: ‘In this video, I know how I felt and though I may look calm, I am anything but. I am deeply stressed, my mouth is dry, my mind is racing. All I want is for this incident to pass, for no blood to be drawn, no punches thrown, no harm caused to anyone.
‘My work is my struggle to create and I always welcome you to freely judge me, but I do not welcome to be put in a situation where I fear for the safety of others or myself.
‘I abhor violence and disrespect in any form. I thank the public for their support and for their respect of my work and each other – and for their restrained behaviour. I bear no grudge.’
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: ‘Officers are investigating after a report of a hate incident in Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham, just before 6pm on 1 April.
‘We have spoken to the victim, a 39-year-old man, and are aware that a video of the incident, in which homophobic abuse is shouted, has been shared online and this will be investigated as part of the enquiry.
‘Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the enquiry is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 729 of 1 April 2019.’

3 Tips for Creating a Healthy Morning Routine
I wanted to talk a little about morning routines. I’ve found that how I start my day can really impact how productive I am and how good I feel. I’ve had lots of different morning routines over the years, and I’m sure I’ll have many more, so I wanted to offer three tips along with a bunch of random thoughts/suggestions that may help you if you’re looking to change up how you start your day. I’d also really love to hear what some of you do, so please tell us in the comments!
In this post, we’re working with Care/of. They create personalized daily vitamin packs that I am a big fan of, and so excited to tell you more about them (and what I think) in my first tip below. So let’s get to it!
Tip One: Fuel Your Body
We’ve all heard that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” and although I’m not 100% sure if research really does show this, I still think the morning is a great place to put some healthy habits in place. One thing to think about is hydration. Are there any coffee drinkers out there? (You can’t see it but I’m raising my hand emphatically, ha!) I love to make a good cup of coffee for me and my husband every morning. I currently brew with a Chemex. And although I love coffee and have it as part of my morning routine, I try not to make that my only morning beverage, as it can be more dehydrating than hydrating. Adding a little lemon to a glass of water feels really refreshing to me in the morning, so I typically do that. And in the winter months, I’ll often warm my water first.
Other great options if you’re not a coffee drinker (or just want to change it up) are tea or chia seed water. It’s totally up to you and your preferences, but find ways to hydrate yourself! If you want to learn more about the role of water in our lives, check here.
And the second habit I’d really encourage you to make a part of your morning routine is taking your daily vitamins. Recently, we had two great articles about supplements from our Ask a Dietitian series (see here and here). Knowing what vitamins you should be taking can feel a little overwhelming, I know. And that’s the first reason why I really love Care/of. When I went to shop for my vitamins, I LOVED that they had an online quiz where you can explore what you may need—like if you’re a vegetarian (or mostly, like me), if you have trouble sleeping, how active you are, etc. From the quiz, Care/of will recommend a vitamin pack for you and your needs, which you can then change or add to if you want. This was SUCH a better experience than when I’ve been standing in the vitamins/supplement aisle at stores reading labels endlessly and ultimately just guessing at what I needed.
I also love that the vitamins come in little packs you open each day (complete with your name and a little challenge or quote on each package—too cute). And Care/of ships your vitamins every month, which creates this built-in accountability system, so you’ll see if you haven’t been taking them because they will pile up. (You can pause shipments in your account too, but I like the built-in accountability the system creates, so I wanted to highlight that.) Initially, I was skeptical because honestly they have the most beautiful branding, so I felt unsure if they were legit. (Maybe that’s a weird reaction? I don’t know.) But I love their commitment to transparency, that they tell you exactly where they source from, how much information and “levels of evidence” they provide right on their site, and all their products are tested by third party accredited labs for both safety and purity. Love all of that!
All this being said, taking supplements is not my favorite activity of the day (does anyone love swallowing pills?). So I like to do this first thing in the morning, so it’s done for the day. Added bonus: It naturally forces me to drink a glass of water before my morning coffee. Double win!
Tip Two: Prepare Your Mind
I think it’s super important to find something to do in your morning routine that gets your mind ready for the day. There are a million options here, so I thought I’d just share a few of the things I’ve done or currently do to get into the right mindset to have a really great day.
Meditate/Pray/Journal – For me, this is about gratitude. Some weeks, it’s easy to be and feel thankful, and some weeks are harder. Life is full of ups and downs, but taking a little time each day to say thank you to the universe for what you have can have such a big impact on your overall mood and happiness. Some other things you can focus on in addition to gratitude, or as needed, are opening your heart towards forgiveness and love to yourself and the world. For example, if I have a bad day on Monday, like I felt unproductive and wasted too much time during work hours, or if I snapped at Trey when he came home from work, or something else that made me feel mad at myself. The next day, I will take a minute in the morning to forgive myself and remind myself that today is a new day and it’s an opportunity to grow and do better.
It could be you only have time to do this kind of thing during your commute to work or for just a couple minutes while your coffee brews. But if you can take a few more minutes, make it even more intentional by adding other mini routines you like. You could add some light stretching or yoga to this time, diffuse some scents you love, listen to some music that gets you going, or whatever else feels right during this time. One tool I really love is the 5 Minute Journal. As the name suggests, it’s super quick, but a great tool to get in the habit of gratitude.
Tip Three: Wake Up Your Body
Some people like to get their workout in during the morning. I’ve gone through seasons of this, but currently it’s just not my thing (unless I have to for scheduling reasons). But if you’re a workout in the morning person, go for it, friend! Even though I’m not, I still like to do something that helps me feel more awake. This can be simple like taking my dog on a quick walk. Other options could include taking the stairs instead of the elevator (at a parking garage or at your office building), or sometimes even just a shower can do the trick. Keep it simple, make it fun, but find ways to get a little active or wake up your body to start your day.
So those are my three tips, which clearly can be changed up in lots of ways to fit you and not just me. But I also really want to encourage you all as you think about your morning routine because I know a lot of people can feel like they don’t have any time in the morning to themselves. Maybe you have a super long commute to work, or you have young children who need basically all of your attention to get them ready for the day, leaving little room for you. Don’t be discouraged! I think the important part is to find a routine that can work for you in whatever season of life you are in. Some seasons you may have a very limited amount of time in the mornings, while other seasons you could do an entire crossword puzzle over a leisurely breakfast everyday. Don’t wish for a different season or compare your time to what others may have. Enjoy what you have by accepting its limitations as well as its gifts. One day you may long for those crazy, busy mornings getting the kids on the bus before school, so try to enjoy them as much as you can now. Anyway, would love to hear more about what you do (or wish you did) in your morning routines!
P.S. In case anyone is curious, here’s what’s in my daily vitamin pack: Multivitamin, Calcium Plus, Astaxanthin, and Rhodiola. And if you check out Care/of, be sure to use our code to get 50% off your first pack: BEAUTIFUL50
