Released September 12, 1980 (UK and EU):
OZZY OSBOURNE "Blizzard Of Ozz".
What was originally to be the debut album by the band Blizzard Of Ozz (mysteriously) became Ozzy's debut "solo" album when it was released (the deceit and corruption started that early on).
It wasn't released in North America until March 1981.
Written and performed by the brilliant combination of Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley. Plus Lee Kerslake. Ozzy only contributed a couple of catchphrases and song titles.
Don Airey guested on keys.
Spawned the classics "Crazy Train", "I Don't Know", Mr. Crowley" and "Suicide Solution", ...
Featured some of the greatest guitar, inventive bass playing, and drumming ever. No one knew what these guys were capable of until put together in this band.
The album peaked at # 7 in the UK and #21 in the US. And has since gone 4x platinum in the US alone.
And we all know about the ongoing withholding of royalties, lawsuits and re-recording of the bass and drums, etc. Deceit and corruption still continue.
The two non-LP single B-sides were very good too. "You Looking At Me, Looking At You" was a "Blizzard" studio out-take. While "You Said It All" was written and recorded live during a concert sound check.
RIP Randy Rhoads and Lee Kerslake.
