Character proposal: Cake
I feel like Cake didn't get enough time to shine in the whole of BFDI.
With The Losers getting rewritten to give each member more agency, Cake will have his time!
Cake has untreated DPD developed pre-BFDI.
his parents are not in a healthy relationship!! But they refused to break up for Cake's sake. It... Didn't go as planned.
He also had MEEEAAAAN school bullies.
By his appearance in the show, Cake is around the age of a young adult.
Cake is shy and an overall very sweet person. He's well-intentioned and easily bothered.
A bit of a Goiky's Dragons fan.
Cake is a HUUUGE Loser fan. During his teenagehood he used to listen to podcasts from Loser, buy merchandise, and watch content featuring Loser-- he found those to be good distractions. Hearing Loser's trans experience helped Cake go through his own.
He once got to go to a performance. His grandparents took him!
Cake is SO HAPPY to see Loser in BFB,, but also kinda nervous. THAT'S HIS IDOL!!
He follows Loser around like a lost puppy and goes to Loser for help with his problems. He's the same with the rest of The Losers-- but not nearly as much as he is with Loser.
Loser is eliminated. For a while, Cake's... uncertain. He grows closer to other members of The Losers instead and wow! I am going to let this team be dysfunctional with or without loser, especially after everyone realizes hey. Hey! Loser's not someone to put on a pedestal.
There's tension on The Losers. Past drama Cake isn't familiar with is stirred up and uncomfortable amount. Firey and Leafy are NOT playing nice. (Seriously, Leafy joining The Losers made Firey meaner.) Pin dances around the topic of BFDIA. Coiny is struggling to mend things between him and Firey. Eggy and Needle are TRYING to hold everything together. Cake is just... Here. He's not actually that close to anyone. Hm.
When Two comes and Loser escapes Four, Cake is uncertain about switching shows. Cake's been doing better without Loser and I think I know how to seal that.
Kickstart the friendship between Book and Cake.
Loser is off being Loser, probably telling contestants to do what they think is right. Yeah. But not Cake.
Perhaps this is the start of Cake's realization. Hr doesn't need Loser. He doesn't need The Losers.
He comes across Book after she and Taco had a tense talk. Cake stands there awkwardly, Book asks if he's alright, he kinda nods and looks away.
Book is learning the power of healthy communication. She is quick to ask Cake--
"Do you want to talk about it?"
The weight on him starts to lighten. It feels good.
So, he follows Book to TPOT, walking with her off-screen and talking about his experiences as his voice fades out.
In TPOT, Cake joins Just Nots with Book.
This is a WONDERFUL IDEA!! He gets into an old interest and starts a Goiky's Dragons campaign with the whole team. They also get along wonderfully!!
Buuuuuut there's Pillow. Cake doesn't say anything to her but he doesn't appreciate the way she treats him or Bomby. Those two are the first in TPOT to have a strained relationship with her.
Pillow also ended their Goiky's Dragons campaign. Thanks. Wow.
Cake gets to be friends with everyone but finds himself closest with Book. The two talk about their history with each other. Book can empathize with Cake's struggles with The Losers and his DPD. Book actually helps Cake through it up until his elimination.
A series of shorts could be made to flesh out side characters(think BFDI:TPOT: Plan Dissolve Adhesive) and Cake would be one of the perfect characters for it. He gets out pretty early in TPOT :[

uh oh im getting attached to that hypothetical season i made whoopsie doopsie
anyway i like to think host leafy and firey would wear these snazzy little bowties cause they’re extra like that
Tumblr media
also purple is the main color for the season if you couldn’t tell. with leafy’s green and firey’s orange we got all the secondary colors

For redux Pillow, I think she should be the exact same as in canon...
Ok not completely lol, something I really think the show missed was a proper transition between BFB Pillow and TPOT Pillow. BFB Pillow was always kinda ok with violence, but TPOT takes her character in a new direction without really exploring why.
I think just a proper scene exploring her thought process with luck and research would be nice. Shows how she didn’t think her team did all that well in BFB, and she wants to try a new strategy.
Also she’s totally neurodivergent in a low-empathy way
The current plans for Pillow
Neurodivergent Pillow makes so much sense. I was considering it when drafting her character proposal-- now it's official :D I'll be searching for a specific neurodivergency to throw her way. Welcome to the club Pillow!!
In the Redux, Pillow is endlessly curious. Part of what leans her into violence in BFB & TPOT is a seek of chaos. Pillow approached Death PACT because she misinterpreted them and now she's stuck with them. They noticed this and were quick to ensure her damage was minimal.
How frustrating! Seriously! Revival is completely possible-- what's it matter to Death PACT? Pillow, endlessly set on her ways, won't let Death PACT stop her forevdf-- but maybe she doesn't have to:
When Two arrives and takes most of the contestants, Pillow is happy to follow along. She doesn't care much for Four anyways, so she's able to completely ignore the look of horror on their face as 76% of their contestants leave.
Two offers a grand power that she is so interested in-- who knows what can be done with that? It's certainly better than a physical copy of BFDI. Pillow also takes the opportunity to switch teams when it's presented to her-- now Death PACT Again will have a harder time stopping her and she can do whatever she wants. That's more like it!
All of this is subject to change! I'm still drafting season 1's rework and Pillow won't make a proper appearance until at least season 3 so there's plenty of time to figure her out and make her consistent.

Character proposal: Redux!Loser
So!
Like most characters in BFDI, I like Loser. He's a guy who exists. My biggest goals with him are to expand upon his canon character and fit him into the plot.
Redux!Loser's story & character outline:
He's a celebrity famous for his Loser-Cake act, originally played with Winner in front of a small audience live in Goiky some time before BFDI.
Loser and Winner tour for a while. After a movie deal, Winner and Loser part ways, as Loser desires more and Winner is reserved.
While he won't be participating BFDI, BFDIA, or IDFB, he will make a propper debut BFB. To be honest, I don't know how he got there, but that will be figured out in due time.
Loser is a nice person, there's no doubt. He's prideful and courteous. He's famous!!!! And The Losers! love him for that. Hell, most contestants BFB love him for that.
But, my problem with Canon!Loser is the fact that he greatly overshadows his teammates. He's the main focus, which absolutely feeds into his love of fame, but it doesn't let the rest of his team shine until after he's eliminated.
Like a lot of fans do with famous people, they idolize him. They hold him to high standards and, as they spend more time with him, The Losers! come to humanize him instead. He has a small lie-- but it's not going to cause a wide controversy like it does in canon.
The biggest controvery he gets is reading Donut's diary in the EXIT but it's really not enough to cancel him.
He does fall off some time between the late BFB and TPOT 17-- the status quo changes and he just can't catch up-- but he's trying.
Loser is self-conscious-- he's baffled by the idea of being doubted or disliked.
He loves attention and does value his fame over his relations-- but that changes in BFB as he grows closer to his team. He thinks back often to the way he left Winner and genuinely feels bad. He'll still enjoy getting attention but he won't put it over his relationships.
He's well-meaning too. He cares about doing the right thing. But he's flawed!
Loser-Os were less of an attempt to get back into the mainstream and more of an attempt to acknowledge his past friendship with Winner. He hasn't forgotten and he never will.
He's got that funky voice I adore it. He's keeping that. If anybody has any ideas for why it's that way, I'd love to hear it!
I projected onto loser ONCE in 2024 so. He's absolutely an aroflux trans man.
This is a very rough draft! As usual, input will be met with open arms.

ok, uh, well, book's arc in bfb needs a LOT of fixing up imo. the idea of her getting abandonment issues because of freesmart and getting attached to taco dissapearing is interesting and definetly makes sense but it wasn't handled very well in canon,,,,,
I wholeheartedly agree!
It felt kind of? What's the right word for this,? Petty? Jarring? Seeing Book react the way she did-- and for how long she held on to that grudge for.
I think I'd push back her split-off from Pencil's alliance to IDFB and give her and Taco time to get closer, as well as have her chill on the bullying-- it felt so out of character for her.
Perhaps Taco gets forgotten about and left in the jawbreaker during Redux!BFB 2 & 3. Instead of being put on the swing during the challenge in episode 2, the jawbreaker is with other unopened ones(albeit empty)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Book realizes Taco isn't there to help, we rehash the scene where she thinks Taco's abandoned them all. Some shenanigans happen near the end of the episode that get Taco's jawbreaker closer to the swing that her team(Bleh?) is on.
I want a scene in the following episodes where Book does say something harmful-- something that sours things between her and Taco more. She won't relentlessly harass Taco, but she will have that flare of anger.
A few episodes down the line, she and Taco may have a heart to heart. They may not be friends anymore, but they can be on better terms. This'll make way for her story in TPOT!
With the rewrite in it's early early phase, this is all subject to change :]

the first team of bfdi redux, BEEP Returns!
with team leader Balloony alongside Boom Mic, Clapboard, Clock, Cloudy, Discy, and VHSy
Tumblr media
similarly to the original beep, beep returns is kinda just the “…and the rest of them” team, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some team dynamics to be had
obviously balloony and cloudy are a classic duo, but i feel clapboard and discy would also pair up nice just based on the recent tpot short
boom mic would be pretty nervous about actually competing, but i feel like with time they’d come out of their shell. clock meanwhile is completely out of his element without anyone to really latch on to. vhsy is just here for the ride

unrelated to the actual ask but this got me thinking about these two’s dynamic in redux
i imagine at some point something goes wrong (or just not quite right) and leafy has an episode about it. she starts yelling at people and eventually, retaining enough self-awareness to realize this, storms off to some remote corner of the island as to not hurt anyone with her outburst
firey’s just kinda left there dumbfounded, at least at first. he starts to think something like “why is she even so upset? nothing even-” but, remembering what the two of them have been working on together, quickly changes his thought process to “she’s upset. it doesn’t matter why, she’s just upset” and he leaves the contestants to their devices to go find her
he finds her quietly sobbing to herself in a corner, muttering that nothing she does ever goes right and that everyone is going to hate her again. he starts to remember what they went over, looking at the “one” he’s counted on his finger. he asks if it’s okay for him to be there, and she slowly nods, almost as if surprised by his presence
he sits next to her, looks at the “two” he’s counted on his hand, and asks if she wants to talk about how she’s feeling. she shakes her head no, and the two sit there for a minute in silence. he counts a “three” on his hand, and asks if she would like him to do anything. she begins to respond, but is taken aback by something she notices
“are you counting out the steps i taught you?” somewhat embarrassed, firey affirms, before quickly asking if he had done anything wrong. she responds that no, he hasn’t. she was just caught off guard by the physical counting. he says its to help him remember how to help her, and she starts giggling, the jarringness of the realization throwing her out of her funk
he makes a show of counting out a “four”, to leafy’s bemusement, and asks if she’s ready to get back to everyone else. she says she is, and the two walk back to the contestants, ready to finish off the episode.
i feel like redux firey and leafy would hate two because they not only split bfb and stole many of the contestants, and we don't really know how the final fourteen feel about two besides teardrop, but because firey and leafy are just so full of themselves when hosting that they snobbishly criticize two by basically saying he's too nice of a host
i’ll give my take
for canon firey and leafy: leafy would probably commend two for what a kind and caring host they are, but also tactfully scorn them for interrupting poor four’s show. i don’t think firey would give much of a darn about two. if anything, he’d thank them for getting him a good deal further in the competition
these opinions would extend to the redux hosts, at least at first. one or both of them might start getting a bit big-headed over their position of power (leafy with how exceptionally nice she is to her contestants, and firey for how absolutely awesome his competition ideas are). that in turn might get them to think less of former hosts, including two. but overall, with how small scale redux is, i don’t think it’d get to their heads that much. just enough to make things interesting

Character proposal: Two
May as well be God. They have a power SO intense that the only number with more than them is 2763-- and that's only because 2763 can suppress Algebralien power.
Casual, easy-going, optimistic, tolerant, and friendly! Two gives others several chances, even if they really don't deserve it. Two is either completely in tune or out of touch with what's happening at any given moment.
ADHD friend! Two has their moments of forgetting about their own power.
They crave validation. They find it easy to get attached and difficult to let go.
When Two is hit with extreme emotions, they are hit HARD. They find it very difficult to recover from negative feelings.
Pre-BFDI Two struggles to keep friends. Stuff just kept happening. In wanting to keep friends, and thus being deeply concerned about what others thought of them, they became easy to push around.
I don't know what One's history with Two looks like in canon. All that's for sure is that she was trapped away somewhere but for the redux, I REALLY like the idea of One and Two being friends before that happened. I'm talking close-- possibly best-- friends. One introduced Two to the Equation Playground.
Following the incident, Two felt very mixed. That is-- was?-- their friend, right? One was good to them, wasn't she? Wasn't she??
Their standing with other Algebraliens either is neutral or positive. They weren't particularly close with many-- although it is easy for them to make friends and get along with others. Two hit it off really well with Eight. Eight is chill, easy to be around. Two likes that.
Two and Eight grew close and became QPPs(queer platonic partners!) Unfortunately, like so many times before, something caused them to split up and stop communicating all together. Maybe it has something to do with Fourteen. Right before Fourteen shows his true colors.
This is their last straw. After so many times failed, Two leaves their planet and goes on adventures. They return once or twice-- long enough to see BFDIA and have a WONDERFUL IDEA.
A sudden spark of motivation.
They should host a gameshow........... Aaaand they find something else interesting.
Hosting a gameshow chews at the back of their mind for years until they decide to use their powers to find the contestants of BFDIA-- they'd be loads of fun!!
They land on Earth in time to stop Spongy and Loser from getting ran over by Four. It's BFB!
Four and Two knew each other in the Redux. They weren't friends but they weren't enemies either. So, Four's quote changes from canon--
"What are YOU doing here? D:<"
Two gives Four a joyful wave, doesn't answer his question, and invites people to join TPOT. For now, it's pretty much the same scene as in BFB 16.
X stays behind. For some reason. Two has a chat with them before some BFBers come in and take them back
It takes a lot of reminders from the TPOT contestants to ACTUALLY start the show-- this becomes a running thing.
Two and Gaty get their time together. New friend unlocked!
After BFB ends, Four and X show up looking for something to do. Two offers them a place at the hotel. Four seems OVERJOYED(totally not plotting to use this as a way to get back at Two for taking his contestants!)
Two's toleration REALLY stands out when they're around Four. He's rightfully upset about Two taking over but the way he behaves back would have most done with him. Four and X get to work the kitchen!
Two is quick to swoop in and save the EXITors from Four when they manage to escape him. Two gives Four a good scold for trapping the EXITors like that and then puts them to work in the hotel diner. Dora responds by breaking a window.
Over the course of TPOT, Two becomes sadder and sadder to see competitors go. Two's made friends with and gotten to understand so many of them.
Eliminated contestants that aren't sent to Two's domain are going missing. Being ever the optimist, Two brushes it off, assuring everyone that the eliminated ones are probably somewhere-- they'll be fine and Two'll just send eliminated contestants to their domain quicker from hereon out.
There are consequences to not thinking things through.
Two and Gaty just keep on getting closer. Two eventually brings up QPRs to Gaty around TPOT 12 and Gaty lights up. They are now in a QPR!!
Gaty is eliminated in TPOT 14. Two is heartbroken and sends her away to the kitchen, leaving the contestants under the impression that she was in Two's domain. But, hey! Two can look on the bright side here-- now they can spend more time with Gaty.
This is the longest and best relationship Two has ever had. It's not perfect-- there's some attachment problems to work out, as well as priorities-- but Two is really happy for once.
TPOT 15: Seasonal Shift.
The timeline is fucked up and Two doesn't know how or why. It's fixed, not by the contestants but a force Two can't perceive, and a few changes carry over. Marker is green, there's a big crack in the sky---
A few changes?
Two RUSHES to the kitchen. It's a mess-- bags are sprawled everywhere, some utensils, and lots of food.
No sign of Gaty.
Shit.
Two snaps their fingers over and over, falling to the ground and covering their face, trying not to cry. Nothing is working. Gaty is gone, it's like she never existed in the first place.
Oh GOD. She never..
Two is left alone again and they can't take it.
Two completely shuts down. It's X who finds them in the kitchen and takes them to their room. Fanny and Ice Cube set up shop in there shortly after.
Two blocks it all out. They stare at their ceiling. They can't bring themself to move.
X brings Two food sometimes. Two doesn't eat until they're alone but it's not enough. They can feel their power draining and they just. Don't care anymore.
What's the point in going on if everything they love will be lost again and again?
This concept sat in my draft for a week 💔 I'm so proud of it

Pillow deserves (and, quite frankly, NEEDS) to have some more depth and complexity!
Pillow has always interested me
Like, she's quite different from the other characters. She's apathetic and eccentricand has a level of unrestricted chaos to her. Despite this, everything's the same old same old with her. I agree, give her depth and complexity!!
In BFB she never stuck out to me. Not positively, not negatively-- she's just there. She's just Pillow.
In TPOT, she's violently killed people(including her own friends) without giving a damn. It's for good luck! It's because she misunderstood Two's instructions!
So, for Redux!Pillow, I propose this:
She's a heavy sleeper. You're not waking Pillow up unless she wants to get up.
Pillow is CURIOUS. She wants- sorry, no, NEEDS- to learn more, even if it's not the truth. She can build off of nothing.
Pillow does not like being wrong. It's simply impossible! Once she has an idea in her head, she won't budge. If she is somehow wrong, then it's absolutely not her fault!! Ever!
Pillow likes keeping notes of everything. Her thoughts? There's a journal for that. Her art? There's a journal for that. Her research? There's a journal for that.
She's crafty and blunt. She'll tell you what she thinks, just ask her!! She can say the right things to get her way, too [TPOT 16, for example]
Now, her violence:
Why she kills? Well, she's got a number of reasons. It's fun. She totally misunderstood Two's instructions in TPOT 9. She's bored. She wants to do research.
"in a world where you can be revived, what's it matter?"
In TPOT, this puts her toe to toe with Death PACT especially. They DREAAAD her in the earliest episodes.
Pillow doesn't care what others think about her or her actions but this hurts her in the long run. Her friendships end just as quickly as they started. Contestants express anxiety and concern around her-- for her.
Ultimately, what Pillow needs is consequences and a good therapist. She'd do well with a better outlet for her energy and that presents itself in the form of her journal.
Before TPOT 17, she will get that. Lastly, in Two's elimination area, she'll find a new one to start writing in.

ough itd be cool if there were more queer rep than just like a few characters using they/them !!! i personally like transmasc enby sapphic pin! {so not projecting trust} i think like at first {during like bfdi-bfdia} she tries to conform to the norm and stuff so shes like super sassy, tries yo be super girly, ect. but then since shes been through so much during bfdia, she sorta just,,, stops caring about how she presents,, i think this could happen like around like during the final stretch of bfdia?
then like during idfb shes sorta just. there. only wearing whatever she has, not really caring anymore, then maybe as bfb starts she kinda slips back into old habits, theres these new people she barely knows anything about, and shes been thrown back into competition,,, so she begins to try and present acceptably again.
then as tpot starts, maybe she can realize "hey maybe i dont... need to do. that" and just kinda chill doing what she wants now, sometimes still dressing feminine, coz who can resist those pretty flowy dresses? and sometimes just throwing on whatever she has. but now, shes comfortable not thinking about what others think, and its all for her.
but i dunno im just like projecting what happened to me onto her because. ya,,, but i think more queer rep would definitely be cool coz irl its way more diverse than just a couple enbies in a sea of guys and gals lol
Mmmmm queer characters 😋
The current (& growing) cast of queer characters are:
Price Tag [Biromantic enby; they/them]
Winner [Enby; they/them]
Every algebralien ever- none of them are straight
Loser [Alloromantic transmasc; he/him]
Gaty [Sapphic grayromantic transfem; she/her]
Profily [Enby; they/them]
Pin [Sapphic transmasc enby; she/her] (Thank you!)
-
I don't have many complaints with Pin. I adore her story in BFDIA and her relationships with the other contestants. She makes for a great villain and it's clear that somewhere between BFDIA and IDFB she becomes a better person. I'm leaning into believing that someone's going to call her out and she's going to realize how badly she's been treating others.
My one problem with her is how they handle her disability-- her lack of limbs. She loses them in early BFDIA, has this disability throughout her villain arc, and then gets them back by swapping them out for her pigment before IDFB once her arc is over.
I just. ?? No. That's ???. No
We need more disability rep anyway
Redux!Pin's character proposal:
In BFDI, Pin is rather mean-spirited, but clever and resilient. She's fierce and confident and good at what she does.
This carries over to BFDIA when Woah Bunch forms. However, interacting with Donut and Coiny makes her realize she can have valuable friendships. She's gone from doing challenges for herself to doing challenges for them all.
But FreeSmart is getting on her nerves. They do things that hurt her and her team. They practically make her an inanimate object. She lets her frustrations out-- she's vengeful and vocal.
It accumulates in PointyPointyPointy when FreeSmart steals her music. HER work to progress. They CHEATED their way to the end and Pin WON'T LET THEM WIN.
She is TIRED of the disrespect. She is TIRED of taking it easy. She TRIED being nice and it DIDN'T WORK. She TRIED playing fair and it DIDN'T WORK.
So she won't.
Screw them. She'll do what is right by her and Coiny, even if it means being dirty. She ensures they're put up for elimination and REVELS in it.
Cut to BFDIA 18. Woah Bunch is disbanded by Golf Ball. Coiny says the line:
"May the best player win."
Oh.
She sees how it is.
She sees how it is.
Fine. She doesn't need Coiny. She doesn't need anyone. Screw them all, she'll play and win for herself. She ANTAGONIZES the other contestants.
I don't know how her redemption is going to play out in canon. During IDFB she'll start exploring her identity and reflecting. She's been so focused on the game that she rarely ever thought of who she is and now she has a chance to.
She gets her pigment removed. She's going to start fresh.
She gets it back before BFB, perhaps due to being recovered, and stays red for the game.
She's concerned about what others think, too. Sure, there's other outwardly trans contestants but.. god, she doesn't know.
She's got sass but has become nicer. She genuinely cares about others and supporting them.
I think I have to flesh out more of BFB before I'm certain on what I want to do with her there.
In TPOT 2 she's hard against cheating(or what she sees as cheating) because of her behavior in BFDIA. Two is fine with the glue, so...
Huh. Okay, then.
Coiny and Pin also have that moment in TPOT 2 where Coiny says he enjoyed how BFDIA went and had fun-- Pin argues against that. She's not proud of her actions and the worry of being like that again is still present. It's weighing her down because it never left her side.
She knows on some level that she doesn't need to care about what others think... But it's there, a quiet concern.
In TPOT 2 she'll learn to ignore that again. It doesn't matter.
If so... she can be who she wants to be. That applies to her looks too.
She gets her pigment removed again. It's time to start fresh. It's time to let go of her past actions.
She tries out different decorations throughout TPOT up to her elimination.
Pin will eat anything with paprika. She LOVES paprika.
She's loved collecting tokens since BFDI!
ALSO Pin will not have limbs after she loses them in BFDIA. At all.

LOVING your rendition of cake actually omga,,,,,
wondering what you would do with golfball? i've always been interested about her backstory (that scene in idfb has never left my mind) and why she is the way she is (i have my own personal headcanons but i'd love to hear someone else's interpretation)
GOLF BALL!!!!!
I LOVE canon Golf Ball. I'll make sure Redux Golf Ball does her justice.
BUT! You can't have Golf Ball without Tennis Ball. Two in one.
GB and TB are FOILS. They are together from BFDI to TPOT. They're BEST FRIENDS!! They're on the same team every time, they're rooting for each other, and they're hanging out beyond challenges too.
So, I'm going to play into that.
Them no longer sharing a team in TPOT? I want that to be jarring. Like, hey! Status quo change!!
Golf Ball's proposal first--
GB is REALLY intelligent, a perfectionist, and leaderly. However, in wanting to be leader, she doesn't take account of what others think. As far as Golf Ball is aware, her plans are always the right ones and she can't fathom it being any other way. That's where the Bossy Bot nickname comes from! (She's grown quite endeared to it--- Not that she'd tell you!)
She's vocal with a sharp tongue. Honest to a T. Also a stickler for the rules.
There's times where TB has to relay the ideas from his team to GB-- and only then will she listen.
As much as she demands it... Golf Ball doesn't receive a lot of respect from others and it makes her SO upset. Tennis Ball has so much for her and that's part of why Golf Ball appreciates her. He's also, like, SUPER into science and an incredible inventor!!
GB isn't a fan of physical affection or interaction. She doesn't tolerate it from friends or strangers and rarely for those she's closest with.
GB was born in a small town in Yoyleland and moved to Yoyle City after highschool to pursue a college degree. Something! Happened that resulted in Yoyle City being abandoned.
Whatever caused it to happen, GB is one of the few who stay behind... It was SERIOUSLY traumatic. Perhaps she lost friends in a way that they couldn't be recovered or was the victim of an attack. Open to ideas on this!
Golf Ball initially HAAATES 8-Ball. He completely took over A Better Name Than That in BFB-- how awful! Also, she KNOWS he's petty, making the team do the opposite of what she says. Come on.
By TPOT, she finds that her feelings about him have calmed down. She hasn't seen him in years, so like... Who knows what he's up to now?
From late BFB to TPOT I want Golf Ball to learn to be more emotionally available-- hopefully change her social standing with others and understand proper teamwork. Donut may come in handy for that one!
Golf Ball starts to get a better reputation in TPOT. She gets along well with most of CLOUD YAY.
She clashes with Pencil a LOT. Not only do both want to take charge but Pencil's demand for control is... Much more forceful. She's used to people doing as they're told and Golf Ball is notorious for NOT listening to others.
Donut helps GB become a lot more there emotionally. GB thinks he's cool-- also a lot nicer than he was in BFDIA.
Tennis Ball--
The girl to ever. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
TB is innovative, polite, and kind-- but don't mistake her for a pushover. If he has to be assertive and set his boundaries, he will.
She is easily stressed. That's where GB comes in and offers him support.
Golf Ball got Tennis Ball into Yoyle studies.
He's happy to be with her! He finds it fun to listen to GB's long rants. She could go on for hours and he'll stay invested.
These two are attached at the hip wherever they go. But, as close as they are, things are messy.
Shs has separation anxiety. High chance TB was pretty lonely growing up and also craves social interaction.
When she gets desperate, TB finds himself doing things he wouldn't have otherwise. This is shown best in BFDIA when he uses the WTFers to fill up her box-- as suggested by Leafy.
I want to do more with TB. I do. But as I looked into his canon I just? Don't know really. Hopefully it'll come to me as I rewrite BFDIA considering how far he goes in it.
I was originally considering QPR Tengolf because I keep getting flashbanged by this:
Tumblr media
Tennis Ball is gay!!
But then, I remembered I am in control of the rewrite and thought... Yuri.. trans woman on trans woman love. She/her GB and he/she TB. Doomed Yuri. They try and it doesn't work out.
There's a kiss in the hotel in TPOT and both of them stare at each other after. Honestly, either could've initiated it but at the end of the day?
They speak at the same time. From Tennis Ball: "Did that just happen?"
From Golf Ball: "Uh."
"Are we actually...?"
"I don't... know.." Golf Ball looks away, biting her lip. This is stupid. What are they doing??
Golf Ball is the one to leave. She doesn't know how to feel, there's a butterfly in her stomach and it's making her sick and uncomfortable. Something tells her TB is feeling similarly too.
The next day is awkward. Golf Ball isn't sure how to talk to Tennis Ball about it and their separation does not help. Things keep getting in the way.
They've been friends for YEARS. Could they be more? SHOULD they be more? It doesn't feel right and neither are certain. Golf Ball wants to ask, "What are we?"
...but that's for another time, it seems. They both have a new team that they have to get along with now.
And when they may have the chance to talk about it again, Seasonal Shift happens and Two goes dormant. Another time comes and Fanny needs help from Tennis Ball with notes on... Well, GB doesn't know what. A THIRD time when Pencil REALLY starts grinding GB's gears. She'll have to sort things out with TB later.
Nothing can be easy for anyone ever!!
-
I dont know how satisfied I am with this :[ I brainstormed for two days and I'll literally take any ideas to flavor both characters more atp. They both have huge presences with GB being such a strong character and TB making it so far in BFDIA. TB probably feels stronger about it than GB?? Maybe for the official rewrites of them I'll make it one-sided.

i really like clock bfb tbh. i had a friend (now ex-friend) who said clock reminded them of a stalker... it kinda irked me because i saw myself in clock.
like the want of someone to return to their former glory, and only realising later that the person is happy where they are now, i kinda went through that with someone i know
i love clock so much
yeah i get ya, looking back its clear that he wasn’t trying to be malicious in any way, he was just kinda lost and needed something/someone to ground himself. his mind tried to find the familiar where it wasn’t
once you get past his poor communication skills he’s a pretty swell guy!
thats also the basis for him in bfdi redux, he’s once again out of his element but is skittish to actually make connections because he doesn’t want to repeat his past mistakes

i feel like redux firey and leafy would hate two because they not only split bfb and stole many of the contestants, and we don't really know how the final fourteen feel about two besides teardrop, but because firey and leafy are just so full of themselves when hosting that they snobbishly criticize two by basically saying he's too nice of a host
i’ll give my take
for canon firey and leafy: leafy would probably commend two for what a kind and caring host they are, but also tactfully scorn them for interrupting poor four’s show. i don’t think firey would give much of a darn about two. if anything, he’d thank them for getting him a good deal further in the competition
these opinions would extend to the redux hosts, at least at first. one or both of them might start getting a bit big-headed over their position of power (leafy with how exceptionally nice she is to her contestants, and firey for how absolutely awesome his competition ideas are). that in turn might get them to think less of former hosts, including two. but overall, with how small scale redux is, i don’t think it’d get to their heads that much. just enough to make things interesting
