The professor of my coding class is kinda hilarious. He's like mid 50s white dude, grew up on a farm, HATES technology (constantly saying how he can't wait to retire and smash his cell phone so he only has a landline), often mentions stuff like "not to be offensive but-" and then says things that are objectively true / not actually offensive (about general cultural differences regarding tech and such), and At The Same Time despite being a painfully white farm dude he's still somehow incredibly conscientious of other ppl's cultures - well traveled, well educated, and clearly very considerate of other countries. This dude talks about countries I have barely even heard of without blinking, citing some very specific cultural stuff, even using some words that he COMPLETELY butchers the pronunciation of bc he is Very White, but at least he's trying.

Poland created a national pregnancy registry in June 2022 and recently had police search the sewers for a fetus to try and prove a woman lied about having a miscarriage. In that case, the police collected her underwear, scissors she used to cut the umbilical cord, and blood from her floor for the investigation. They even wanted to funnel the contents of her home’s septic tank, but cleaners refused. Police claimed the woman lost her pregnancy “as a result of criminal actions” and prosecutors opened proceedings against her, only to drop them months later.

important: just because a breed is recognized does NOT make it automatically ethical!

If a breed has several names I write all of them but list them under the letter of the most common one. If an organisation lists the breed under a different name I noted it, unless it's a very similar name (Scottish Straight = Scottish Shorthair etc.).

I am not super good at distinguishing variants like European and American burmeses, so I put those that were just labeled "burmese" under unspecified. The same goes for Bombays and Maine Cats.

Breeds' long- and shorthair versions are listed seperately. However I didn't look up every single standard, just each index, and with some breeds it was not specified if they're recognized as longhaired, shorthaired or both. I've listed those as the most common variant. The same goes for ear types, fur types etc. (I might go through all of the standards some other time)

There are some breeds on here that are considered extinct or dormant but since some organisations still have their standard I've listed them. They're marked with an asterisk.

Words in quotation marks are the words I use if there's no official term for something.

Apparently REFR accepts all recognized breeds from all registries plus their own. However they didn't write down all of them nor which breeds were extinct, so if anyone knows the latter feel free to tell me.

If you spot visitors that don’t live in the neighborhood, exchanging small items for cash, making deliveries, paying quick visits, etc., then it is recommended that you notify the neighborhood watch about it.

2. Blacked Out Windows or Curtains Always Drawn

Neighbors blacking out windows with blankets, plywood, aluminum foil, etc. or putting their curtains drawn 24/7 is a sign that something suspicious is going on in their house. Some other signs of suspicious activity include large amount of traffic visiting the residence in early morning or late evening hours, numerous antifreeze containers, duct tape, drain cleaner, lantern fuel cans, and coffee filters that have been stained red, etc.

3. A Neglected House

A house that is neglected is another sign of dangerous neighbors. Old vehicles in the driveway, messy lawns, newspapers left outside, etc. could be signs that something fishy is going on. The loud noises at inappropriate times could be a sign of a hidden agenda. The neighbor may be hiding from the law, having drug parties, or people inside the house could be abusing one another.

4. Police Calls and Solutions

Another indication that your neighbors are dangerous is seeing police often at their house. Abuse among children, parents, and pets is possible. If you have no idea why the police visited your neighbor’s house, check with the police department or your other neighbors. Starting a neighborhood watch is a good idea when something suspicious is noticed. If there have been neglect, noise, or burglaries, look into it. Check the sex offender registry if your neighbor is suspicious of being a sex offender.

Short answer:

While running a registry cleaner is useless at best, it's dangerous at worst. As mentioned, the registry is home to lots of important values that both Windows and third-party programs use. If you delete, move, or damage these keys, critical system functions could fail to work.

Since registry cleaners are automated, there's a good chance that their registry scan could tag something as unnecessary when it's actually important. And unless you're a registry expert and check every entry before deleting them, you could cause major damage to your system by deleting something inadvertently.

Basically it's extremely unlikely that registry entries are going to cause problems simply by having a lot of them but it's extremely likely that registry entries are going to cause problems if they're messed with without a lot of really careful attention.

Your computer is a really, really, really smart machine and even with tens of thousands of entries your registry isn't a challenge for the computer to read or access*, but it is a challenge for YOU to read or access. So what registry cleaners have done over the years is marketed themselves as a way to "clean up" your registry and make things faster which doesn't actually make any sense in terms of how the computer works but makes *intuitive* sense to a human looking at a big confusing registry full of entries and extensions that you don't understand.

You shouldn't mess around with your registry unless you are very certain you know what you're doing and have taken a good, complete backup of your computer very recently. You shouldn't trust third parties to mess around in your registry at all.

People tend to like the other tools offered by programs like CCleaner but those are pretty much just a middleman doing stuff that there are already tools built into the OS for. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: The Adventures of Mr. Wu or The Hidden Sex Scene

I can't even believe I'm doing this but I guess someone has to do it. Recently, I was re-watching Tinker Tailor, my new favorite. I got curious about the ditty, Mr Wu. It's so fun to listen to and seemed a quirky choice for the scene. So, I looked up the background and lyrics:

Mr. Wu no longer has a laundry. Sad to say the business was flop.

He shouted 'what a hope' as he chewed a bar of soap

And then put up the shutters of the shop.

Said Mr. Wu, ""What shall I do?"" and Mr. Wu's a window cleaner now.

The laundry, it didn't pay.

Translation: Poor Mr Wu, the laundry cleaner loses his job, so he keeps the local ladies company. Basically, he's having sex; a lot of sex, against windows everywhere. Still stunned about the lyrics, I'm watching the scene and suddenly realize that gearbox, was, I BELIEVE a euphemism for a lady's love box. It just all snowballed from there. So, here's how it goes...

Peter Guillam shows up at the Registry. As the sign says, All Items Must Be Checked In. Alwyn asks Peter for his chit. "I'll need your Chit, sir. New rules."

There are many terms for Chit, but the one that fit the scene most accurately is..'A pert or sassy young woman'.

Then, he's got to slide past Sal.

Finally, Peter makes it to the window-filled file room, and begins to peruse the 'files'.

Oops! Mustn't get caught.

Right then, Mr Wu kicks in. It's on!

I figured that File would be some sort of slang.

I was not prepared.

So, just as Peter Guillam is taking a firm grip on his file, he's interrupted with some bad news, and by this time, vajayjays are just flying.

Fact: A lady's shoe is Victorian slang for vajayjay.

Peter finds out his 'Gearbox is busted. No!

So, he has to stop filing, takes back the 'bag' he came in with and leave. Better luck, next time, Peter.

Bonus is Guillam breaking the 4th wall upon realizing someone heard (saw) him!

So, there you have it. I'm taking this one on the chin. It's too damn funny. I was gasping. That many euphemisms in one scene is not logistically possible. Think I like Mr Wu even more, now. Benedict, don't be mad. I think these fools just leveled you up on the Hottie list.
