[ HAND ] ❤️-Rinea
At this point, it was more of a formality than anything, to take her hand and kiss the back after requesting a dance. Free as the Zofian Court was, even here, there were still a few rules. Sweeping Rinea out onto the dancefloor was done carefully, with gentle assurance. They could lose themselves in the quiet between them once there, the couple unlikely to part or even so much as cease dancing until the night at last drew to a close. After all, it was -- when politics allowed -- the one way the husband and wife could bear festivities. The smooth repetition and closeness to his wife soothed Conrad's discomfort and anxiety, while he hoped his presence could do the same for her own. A step or two slower than the rest, the pair only had eyes for each other, wholly lost in their own world where only they two existed.
There, in that moment, nothing else mattered.

Analysis
Rinea makes her debut as a playable unit in FEH alongside her companions as a blue tome dancer. Unfortunately for our belle her stat distribution and base kit fail to help her stand out from her dancer competition.
Her stat distribution is reminiscent of early FEH units: balanced but without any niche to fall back on. Her offenses are lackluster starting at 30/33 Atk/Spd. Her defenses are similarly mediocre starting at 23/28 Def/Res. Her limited availability and lack of a PRF weapon or uniquely powerful skill places her at a stark disadvantage when compared to other dancers. As a stand alone unit Rinea struggles to cement herself in any particular niche.
Where her strength lies however is as a utility unit. As a dancer she can refresh allies granting them one more turn. This can be further paired with Wings of Mercy to help rescue an ally or to help continue a Galeforce chain. She works well as a defensive dancer as her tome, Silver Goblet+, has the skill Distant Guard 3 built into it. This can be stacked further with buffing or spur skills. While Bracing Blow 2, her default A skill, is doing her no favors and should be swapped out for a different skill, her B skill Fireflood Dance 2 can be utilized to buff her allies once she dances them removing the need for her to run other buffing skills.
On her first merge, Rinea will gain +2 HP/Spd and +1 Atk.
Reasons to Invest in Rinea
You like Rinea and intend to use her in a core team, whether it be for Arena, Aether Raids, or an Infantry team
You’re interested in building Rinea because she is given to all players as a free dancer and may be used in future F2P guides
You have obtained all or most previous copies made available and do not mind the grail cost
Reasons NOT to Invest in Rinea
You don’t intend on using her as a core on any team or in any PVE game modes such as Rival Domains or Grand Conquest
You don’t play Aether Raids and have no interest in obtaining grails
You believe Rinea requires too much investment and would rather fodder off her skills than keep her
You already a dancer (or multiple dancers) that you already use on your core Arena & or Aether Raids team
Similar Units
Note: As a Tempest Trials+ reward Rinea does not have access to boons/assets or banes/flaws and therefore is not directly comparable to any summonable units.
Performing Shigure: Dark Sky Singer (34/31/29/21/24)
Rinea: Reminiscent Belle (+4/-1/+4/+2/+4)
(Young) Azura: Young Songstress (36/33/29/17/25)
Rinea: Reminiscent Belle (+2/-3/+4/+6/+3)
Note: Azura has access to uninheritable skills and is thus not directly comparable. Rinea and Azura are also of different weapon triangle types.
Builds
Budget/Low Investment:
Tumblr media
As a refresher unit Rinea’s primary role should be that as a support unit. This makes minimal investment simple as she will rarely see combat.
The set on the left focuses on her supportive role buffing her allies as much as possible. Since Fireflood Dance 2 will buff for +3 Atk and +4 Res on a danced ally she’ll run Spd and Def buffing skills in her C and Seal slots. Mirror Stance will provide her with some extra Atk/Res which may help her survive a hit if necessary. A spd refined Goblet will boost her speed to help avoid doubles from some opponents.
The set on the right helps Rinea stand on her own a bit. She keeps her dance skills while also adding on Spd/Res Bond and Darting Blow as her seal. When adjacent to an ally and initiating combat she will receive +11 Spd and +5 Res while in combat. This places both stats at 46/33 Spd/Res. Due to her mediocre Atk we run Moonbow to help strip foes of their defenses.
Rinea’s seal options include but aren’t limited to: Atk+3, Spd+3, Spd/Res 2, Dance skills, Bond skills, and Stance skills.
Wings of Mercy:
Tumblr media
Much like her competition Rinea can utilize Wings of Mercy to come to the aid of her allies even when they’re across the map from her.
Both sets displayed use Wings of Mercy for its high mobility. Once an ally falls below or at 50% of their base HP Rinea will be able to warp directly next to them and can then either grant them another turn or attack a nearby foe herself. She can run Fury to boost her raw stats by +3 or can run Triangle Adept to give her an advantage against red opponents.  Her seal and C skill slots are flexible. She can either run a dance skill as displayed on the left or run spurring skills to help boost her allies’ bulk as shown on the right with Distant Guard.
High Investment:
Tumblr media
Rinea only has room to grow. With a high amount of investment she will more than happily prove her worth. The following sets are best intended for players who plan on fully merging Rinea.
The build on the left takes her utility as a support unit to another level. With the help of a Res refined tome and Fort. Def/Res Rinea can reach a high enough Res level to run both ploys and Sabotage Skills. Here we run Sabotage Atk to weaken opponents adjacent to each other with lower Res than Rinea by -7 Atk. We stack the Distant Guard effect to grant allies +8 Def/Res when against ranged foes increasing their bulk and making them in turn difficult to shoot down. HP/Spd 2 is taken to increase her bulk but can be substituted in for another skill if desired.
The build on the right helps Rinea stand on her own making her just as scary as the units she’ll be supporting. We run Fury 4 here to bulk up all of her stats by +4 providing her with some bulk and better offenses. Her tome, Fresh Bouquet+, will grant +4 Spd to herself and all allies adjacent to her. Joint Hone Atk meanwhile will grant +5 Atk to herself and all adjacent allies. With her buffs taken into account Rinea will reach 56/48 Atk/Spd without any further assistance. Gale Dance is taken to buff allies for +4 Spd if they weren’t next to her before. Her seal here is flexible and can be swapped out for another seal if desired.

“When I was young, I'd dance alone in the forest...my only audience birds and rabbits. Now, though, I can dance here, in front of everyone. Even Lord Berkut looks to be having fun.”
Rinea: Reminiscent Belle
So, I’ve been trying out something new. When Soirée!Rinea was announced I knew I’d crochet her, but I’ve also been wanted to try taller, more detailed dolls. ... Probably not the best choice to make for my first attempt, but I’m decently happy with the result! I’ll need a little more practice with faces that aren’t just two button eyes.

💋 -from Rinea maybe in that arranged marriage au we talked about, lmao
Political marriages were one thing, marrying your childhood crush best friend for the good of your people was another, but to learn that said childhood crush best friend had romantic feelings for you? That she wanted to kiss you? That was something else completely. For a moment, Conrad wondered if he were dreaming, but then reasoned that if this were a dream his and Celica's mothers would have been alive and happy together. Which then meant that this wasn't a dream, he had heard Rinea entirely correctly... and that she was probably waiting for some sort of response.
Blushing, the redhead somehow managed to be both impulsive and careful at the same time, as he reached out to take the bluenette's hands in his own. (Normally, he tended to be touch averse, but thank Mila today he didn't seem to feel compelled to recoil away from his own actions.) Smile tremulous but genuine, he hoped she wouldn't mind that he couldn't find words, as he leaned in to press a gentle kiss to the corner of her mouth. It could be innocent, or progress into something more, but for the moment it was hopefully enough. Either way, he didn't want to overwhelm her.
Or overwhelm himself, but that was a different issue.

Analysis
With a Gen 1 dancer’s BST, Ninian doesn’t have much to offer in combat. Of course, this means very little as Ninian will likely spend almost all of her turns refreshing allies. In fact, Ninian’s stats are quite decently distributed with hardly any Atk in favor of decent bulk to help her survive rather than kill.
Aside from being a dancer, Ninian’s most notable asset is her relatively high and easily stackable HP and Res. There are several support skills that involve a HP check like Panic Ploy and Infantry Pulse, as well as Res checks like stat Ploys and Sabotage skills. Using such skills allows Ninian to contribute as much as possible even despite her ability to directly fight the enemy.
On the other hand, Ninian is fairly hindered by being a dragon unit. With an extremely limited pool of inheritable breath weapon skills to choose from, not to mention many of them favoring combat-heavy playstyles, Ninian’s weapon skill slot can essentially end up being a waste of a slot, whereas most other refreshers can equip defensive, type-effective, or even debuffing weapons to extend their utility.
Ninian prefers boons/assets in Res and HP. Her preferred bane/flaw is Atk.

Builds
Budget/Low Investment:
Tumblr media
The first build rounds out Ninian as much as possible to survive fights in emergencies, particularly stacking up her Def. If Ninian can safely attack an enemy, Light Breath+ and Atk Smoke can significantly turn the tide for that turn by buffing nearby allies for +5 all stats and debuffing enemies for -7 Atk. Her default Escape Route can help her get in position to make the most of these two effects as well as to gain Atk/Def Bond’s stat boost, although Wings of Mercy is easier to set up as Escape Route requires Ninian to take significant damage beforehand. Spd Smoke can be used as the Sacred Seal instead for even more debuffs.
The second build is more specialized, namely for dueling sword units and other red units. Using both Triangle Adept and Swordbreaker significantly improve Ninian’s ability to tank damage from reds and even deal more of it herself. With doubled weapon advantage, guaranteed follow-ups, and a Moonbow proc, Ninian’s pitifully low Atk may still keep her from landing kills, although may be just enough to take out low-Res swords.
Magic Wall:
Tumblr media
27 neutral Res isn’t exactly stellar, but with investment Ninian can stack up her Res quite well.
The first build uses Warding Stance 4 and Warding Stance 3 together for +14 Res in the enemy phase, with Lightning Breath+ to let her retaliate against mages and charge her special faster against them. This build puts her at 48 Res which is plenty for tanking red dragons and mages and Warding Stance 4 prevents such units from bursting her down with special damage. Water Breath+ can be used to further increase her survivability (with 52 enemy phase Res) if so concerned with counterattacking mages.
The second build is more focused on utility, increasing her visible Res as much as possible in order to apply Ploy debuffs. Wings of Mercy is arguably the most utile B Skill a dancer can have, however a Sabotage skill can be quite useful in conjunction with Ploys for as many debuffs as possible.
Infantry Support:
Tumblr media
As aforementioned, Ninian can rely on her HP quite well to support her team passively through start-of-turn effects and preserving her actual actions for refreshing. Infantry Pulse can set up some especially powerful builds, particularly those that abuse Special Spiral effects. Using both Sudden Panic and Panic Ploy increases her reliability in applying the Panic effect whereas if using only one or the other she would either be restricted by positioning or leaving it up to the enemy AI behavior. If fully investing in Ninian, B Duel Infantry can of course be used instead of HP +5.
The second build uses the Infantry Breath skill, freeing up melee infantry allies’ A Slots from using a Breath skill themselves. This allows for incredibly powerful builds as such allies can thus combine a greater number of powerful effects together in the enemy phase (such as a unique weapon effect with Distant Counter or a Distant Counter weapon with a powerful A Skill such as Bonus Doubler or a tier-4 skill). Because Infantry Breath only has a range of 1, using it can compromise Ninian’s safety, so using defensive Bond skills and Glittering Breath+ help her avoid putting herself in too much danger.
The third build uses Infantry Rush/Flash to free up allies’ A or Sacred Seal slots from Heavy/Flashing Blade. The rest of her kit revolves around allowing her to safely apply Dark Breath+’s AoE debuffs, making it easier for her allies to pass the Atk/Spd checks and soften up enemies outright. By both boosting her Res and denying enemy follow-ups in the player phase, Mirror Impact helps Ninian safely attack magic enemies while Windsweep and Phantom Spd allow her to avoid being counterattacked entirely by physical enemies assuming they have 48 Spd or lower.

Analysis
A new free unit with the arrival of Book IV, Peony’s addition provides players with a powerful refresher support unit with unique skills that although are not potent enough to outperform Legendary Azura are enough to make her nearly as powerful at virtually no cost.
Being a flying refresher is incredibly valuable in itself due to the additional mobility and flexibility that comes with the typing. However, Peony’s unique skills, Flower of Joy and Gentle Dream, are truly what provide her unmatched utility. Gentle Dream in particular holds immense value by providing full +3 buffs on refresh, something that other refreshers would either need a unique weapon or Dance skills to achieve, as well as granting her allies a warping effect in an AoE which significantly increases her allies’ amount of options in battle and at present no other unit can provide the same level of mobility. Flower of Joy also holds a powerful niche, capable of providing full +3 stat boosts in cardinal directions regardless of distance. Combined with Gentle Dream, Peony is thus capable of boosting all of a units stats by +6 with ease and only with two skills.
While Peony lacks any meaningful stats with workable Spd but poor Atk and mediocre magical bulk, Peony lacks any real potential for direct combat, though with her immense utility on the field this hardly poses a problem as she more than pulls her weight without fighting. Additionally, with a unique weapon and assist, a Duel skill, and maximum SP skills in her B and C Skill slots, Peony’s low BST as a refresher doesn’t hold back Arena scoring even without investment, bar her empty Special slot.
Peony prefers boons/assets in Res (superboon) and Spd. Her preferred banes/flaws are Def (superbane), HP (superbane), and Atk.

Build Suggestions
Note: At the time of writing, fehstuff.com’s unit builder does not have Flower of Joy registered as a skill for Peony: Sweet Dream. Please treat the appropriate builds as though they have Flower of Joy equipped rather than Shine+ and as though the stats are not buffed.
Budget/Low Investment:
Tumblr media
While B Duel Flying doesn’t directly contribute much to fights, there should hardly ever be much reason for Peony herself to engage in combat, thus Peony’s base kite does not require any changes to be effective. There are a wide variety of support/utility Sacred Seals available, though Chill Atk in particular works well in improving her team’s survivability combined with her Fortify Res 4 and unique skills. Aerobatics provides her with extra mobility on mixed teams to then refresh and provide the same mobility to the rest of her team.
Fury 3 notable improves Peony’s bulk and Spd to help her make it through a fight in the event that she must, with Moonbow to slightly improve her offenses. Wings of Mercy can be used instead of Aerobatics especially with allies that take recoil damage.
Utility:
Tumblr media
Though Peony’s base Res is middling, her access to a superboon and Flower of Joy’s +3 Res allows her to push it quite high anyway, thus allowing her to further support her team with debuffs from Sabotage and Ploy skills while also being fairly capable of taking enemy mages. Fury 4 and Resistance +3 increase Peony’s visible Res while also giving her offenses a boost, though she can also completely forgo her offenses and use Fort. Def/Res 3 in the A Skill slot and Fortress Res as her Sacred Seal with an Atk bane, putting her at 42 visible Res.
Peony can also use Triangle Adept and breaker to help her team cover more ground, being a simple counter to whatever weapon type is chosen. Using a Raven tome allows her to also somewhat counter colorless enemies, though she can also simply keep Flower of Joy and counter just red enemies.
Arena Core:
Tumblr media
With such incredible utility and well-scoring default skills, Peony is an excellent candidate for an Arena Core/Support unit. The Special, B Skill, C Skill, and Sacred Seal are flexible. Blue Flame notably can work well with Peony’s playstyle as she and her allies will often and easily be adjacent due to Gentle Dream’s effect.
