i've been playing the series over and over for years at this point and every time i step back into inquisition after origins and 2 i notice how clean it is. ferelden isn't brown. nobody's skin is mottled or discoloured. the loading screens have no grit to them anymore. there are no traps to disarm. the darkspawn don't seem so dangerous now, more goofy than anything. the persistent gore is a light splatter that i barely even notice. the sky over haven is so clear and bright and i remember when it was this eerie, grey tinged fog. there's no deathroot in ferelden anymore. there's no wrinkles on leliana's face.

what I'm getting at is that they yassified thedas and it's started to feel a little uncanny to me. throw some dirt back on it bioware i am begging you

Also a lot of fun that Donald has rods and hammers. There are not enough spellcasters that use their rods or staves offensively, and specifically the idea that Donald can min-max casting or melee damage or sort of in between with various weapons is kind of unique. Flails and hammers for mages aren't unheard of in final fantasy games but they're a bit rare. Just whacking enemies with a rod hammer.

After so many playthroughs playing exclusively a dagger assassin, I'm finally changing it up a bit and doing something more akin to a spellblade (though not destruction magic because good lord, destruction sucks in Skyrim), and it's pretty fun~ especially with conjuration spells, the summons in this game are surprisingly powerful

Oh, I just recently bought some new rocks! I got an amethyst crystal necklace, a world tree necklace made with Sterling silver with tiger's eye embedded into the ring surrounding the tree, and a wind chime with spun glass balls. I know the last one isn't rocks, but it's still so pretty!

I would totally be happy to work as a translator when at home. I'm imagining some young scholar making the treck to my home with an old script they can't decipher, and me embarrassedly having to translate poorly written smut to this young doe eyed person. Or an older scholar being shot down on their translations, because we were at the event in question and so you can tell them exactly how that Bastard Stilvem was wrong and basically illiterate anyway.

With you thinking yours sounded more like a water dragon, your home could be in a Cove just off the main port of the city. You could go diving through shipwrecks to look for shiny things that were left behind, but also if you run into a friendly ship in trouble, you could help them get back to land.
