• Madam Z didn't notice that you were having a rough day-

• Because after all, she was spending all her time in her office finishing up papers she needed to get done before the end of the day, so she was basically cooped up in her office all day, unaware of how your day has been spiraling down

• She was only made aware when you came into her office since she could just see the look on your face, it was unlike the look that you normally have on so she was able to at least pick up and put the pieces together quickly that's something has happened to you today but before she could even say anything or do anything, you just start crying?

• it honestly startled her at first since she really wasn't expecting that- tho even if it did startle her, she knows she has to do something since you are her partner, Therefore she quickly took you into her arms and led you over to her chair so you could sit down as she gets you stuff that you need + stuff that would calm you down

• Madam Z would get you anything that you needed at the moment to calm you down, stuff like; drinks, foods, blankets, plushies, a listening ear, someone to talk too, and really anything that you need! She doesn't mind!

• She's really worried about you and just wants to make sure you're okay, she's rushing all over the place to get you things you need or just doing anything that you need!! You are someone that she holds very dear to her heart, so she wants to show you the same type of love and affection you've always shown her when she's has a bad day.

• Eventually after all the commotion settled down, she will make you a schedule and plans throughout the day so you don't get overwhelmed with anything else. Madam Z wants what's best for you and if that's having to make you a schedule everyday then she's willing to do it!

• Tooth Fairy noticed that you were having a rough day when she came to check up on you, she normally always comes by to drop off some food for you at lunch since she knows sometimes you forget, so it's something that she does everyday!

• And with that it also gives her a reason to come check up on you, since she also likes to check up on you everyday and make sure everything's going steady! So with that she was able to easily pick up the signs of you having a bad day when she came in, since she is basically a doctor and she's your lover therefore she's able to easily pick up on signs

• But when she came over to your desk to ask you about how you were doing and why you seem to be in a stressed like state, you just started to cry and explained how your day has been awful to you and everything, basically just completely breaking down in front of Tooth Fairy eyes since you felt comfortable with her

• Tooth Fairy wasn't really surprised or anything since she could tell that you were close to breaking down because of your tenses like state, she just didn't know that it would be so quickly- but like, she doesn't mind at all that you broke down so quickly since therefore that means you feel comfortable with her and you feel safe in her presence enough to cry!

• Tho she didn't focus on it too long since she had do something since she couldn't just let you cry. So Tooth Fairy sat down with you and asked about your day and listened to what you had to say, she landed you an ear as you vented and explained your whole entire day, she doesn't mind if you get sidetracked on something or stopping between sentences to cry. She just wants you to know she's listening

• Then after she figures out the root of the problem, she'll get you some toffee and a blanket to cuddle up with as she grabs something you like, like maybe reading you a book or turning on your favorite (old)TV show.

• After getting you the things you like she'll give you the food she made you for lunch, she'll maybe even feed it to you if you let her! She really doesn't mind playing doctor and patient with you

(This is all based on a random reverse 1999 theory post. I don't remember who wrote it, but if you see this im just letting you know that it lives in my head rent free)

So, there’s connections between Constantine, Madam Z, and Vertin's Mom with Sonetto, Schneider, and Vertin, right?

I've seen a couple people draw lines between these characters, and from the little bit we know about them I definitely see the connection. Vertin's trio/love triangle matches up a lot with the implied trio of Constantine, Madam Z, and Vertin’s Mom (to be fair, vertins mom has very little info on her so she’s not as confirmed as the other two are for being pals).

My most confident choice is Sonetto paralleling Constantine. They both follow authorities, they both stand on the outside of things happening, and they both serve as a big relationship to Vertin. While Sonetto will almost definitely go through more character development at some point, I think Constantine is a good look at how Sonetto could have turned out if a couple things in her life were different. They’re both very analytical, but their big difference is Sonetto’s empathy and strong connection to Vertin, while Constantine is keeping herself at an arm’s reach from everyone close to her.

From the few in-game comparisons we’ve heard from a couple characters, I think the easiest connection would be between Vertin and her mother, and this also makes sense on a logical standpoint. But what if that wasn’t the case? While we don’t have as much info on Vertin’s mom, we do have a lot of info on Madame Z. Madame Z and Vertin are working towards a mutually beneficial goal throughout all of chapter 4, and they seem to be pretty close from how much they respect each other in dialogue. They both have similar values when it comes to changing the foundation, and they seem very similar even on a personality level. Plus Madame Z being shipped with tooth fairy could be connected to Vertin’s fizz at the end of 1.2 with Jessica /j

If the above claim is the case, then I think Schneider and Vertin’s mom probably have some connections to each other. While we don’t know as much about either of the characters themselves, it is important to note that both characters are important losses in Vertin’s life. The repeat loss of Madame Z and Constantine losing Vertin’s mom only for Vertin and Sonetto to lose Schneider is an interesting comparable dynamic.

In general, I think that the parallels between some of the older generation and younger generation are very interesting, especially with the big themes in chapter 3 and 4 also being about Vertin’s childhood and then the adult drama respectively. I just wanted to throw this theory out into the wild and see what happens!!!

Reverse 1999 chapter 3(and a bit of 4)spoilers below

One of the many reasons why I am so invested in Madam Z being a parental figure to Vertin is because during the ending of chapter 3. You can see the pity and guilt in her eyes as she asked Vertin if she wanted to be the timekeeper, because she knew that she is still a child, a child who just witnessed her friends get reversed because of the storm. She has never agreed with Constantine's plan but in her position, she can only do so much to protect them.

Madam Z felt sympathy for the girl and overtime has also grown attached to her, same goes to Vertin. I believe that Madam Z is the only adult Vertin trusts in the foundation, as she knows Madam Z's intentions are genuine and she knows that she will not lead her friends into any danger.

(Most of these are just my own observations and thoughts so yea :>, I might also write more of these rambles about other character relationships, platonic or romantic.)

(Chapter 4 may have been one of my favorite chapters for how wholeheartedly wholesome it was, as well as giving us found family)

I can make a Dom out of almost every character I like but Madam z? I just can't-

LOOK AT HER- SHE IS A SUB-

She whimpers and crys, all she wants to be is your good girl!! She plays into the submissive role so well! She'll call you by your dominant name that you go by in the bedroom whenever it's you two or even out in public, she'll just whisper in your ear! Even if you two are not doing anything sexual she'll still call you by it!

I like to think she finds comfort in being your submissive! Saying your dominant name brings her comfort whenever she's having a hard day for some reason!
