There is something about the spinning wheels that still gets me. Despite both having almost the exact purpose, they are entirely different.

Which yes, does correlate to Vertin and Urd respectively

One being heavily damaged and covered in ink is a nice way to represent how Urd suffers from her memory loss and how it only worsens as she braves more storms. All until the thread snaps and the wheel breaks in the end- perhaps Urd's mind does too. With it, despite her morals, she's dragged and led into the enemy lines with an illusion of helping and she can't do anything until the storm washes her sins and mistakes away again, in a new name, a new life.

While Vertin is still whole yet stuck in the lake, she's able to brave the storm with no consequences, but she'd always be in the same position as she was before. She can alter the fate of others, to pull them into a sanctuary, but to her, this sanctuary is just a blanket of illusion draped over a cage- The foundation.

It's interesting to see how the two spinning wheels show the state of the weaver and their relationship with one another is.
