Assault Lily: New Chapter — "At the Seeds' Frontier" | "When the Bugle Blooms"

This upcoming stage play in December is Assault Lily's first double feature.

"When the Bugle Blooms" — Oshima Offshore Nest Investigation Team chapter

TL Note: Bugles are a kind of flower, sometimes considered a weed. This specific species, Ajuga decumbens ("kiransou" in Japanese), is not well known outside Asia.

After four Huge Nests suddenly appear near the island of Izu Oshima, the Gardens of Tokyo decide to secretly assemble an "Oshima Offshore Nest Investigation Team" to simultaneously destroy the Nests and investigate a closed GEHENA research facility on Oshima, which they suspect relates to the recent sightings of abnormal Huge in the Tokyo area.

After four Huge Nests suddenly appear near the island of Izu Oshima, Yurigaoka decides to dispatch Legions Álfheimr and Sanngriðr on an emergency expedition to destroy the Nests and secure the Kamakura shoreline before they launch their expedition to recapture Koshu.

Yuuto in the helmet helps drag Apple out of harm’s way and provides a vague distraction while she does the actual fighting. What is he dubbed for his efforts? CLOVER, because of the four leaf clover insignia on his gear. Hahahahaha.

I mean I find all this amusing (especially Ringo trying to do the maths in her head about the boy from her childhood, also CLOVER ON THE BIKE) but I really didn’t think the series was in need of a guy jumping in to assist. Admittedly he doesn’t do a whole lot of note (unlike Limone in Wedding Peach, for example, who we know is quite powerful in his own right) but idk, if Apple was struggling why didn’t she just call or text Sakura? 

At least in the original Wedding Peach series it was 1995 and teenagers didn’t all have access to cell phones so you could appreciate that if a devil showed up while they were alone, they were in trouble unless someone heard the shouts or randomly showed up. I’d be asking the heavenly powers for a fucking communication device if I were Apple, just saying. Either that or an upgraded cell plan.

Anyway in addition to this week’s regular instalment, the first two chapters as performed by Nishimoto Rimi are now up on TapNovel as well. So if you’d prefer to listen to the story in Japanese, you now have an option to do so.

Rly random but does anyone know this series? I’m curious about it... Altho the “moe” character designs seem to have attracted many disgusting otaku to commenting on it, hard to even look it up orz I can block ads, why not gross, srsly disturbing, ppl too? 😂

English name is; “Assault Lily” -it has RAS and several other well known seiyuu in it! :D plus looks quite soft actual, battle parts aside 😂

For now... preordered the game, it releases next month :,D

I wanted to write a long post about this stage play, like the one I did for Blade of Truth, but I find myself struggling to put down any words that I'm confident are worth reading. So, no, I'll just post some of the moments that really resonated with me.

You may have noticed that I love Fumi. It's a shame Nishimoto Rimi couldn't be on stage, but Haruka Risa did a great job stepping into the role.

There was even some HibaFumi.

Some of the video effects this time were really cool.

I feel like I say this with every new play, but I am confident that this is the best Assault Lily stage play yet. I cannot wait for the sequel in May.
