free nights pt 2
free-spirited romance | late-night cityscapes | unspoken softness
Synopsis:
After-hours walks, rooftop talks, and quiet glances
—Ni-ki and the reader find comfort in late-night escapes, where silence says everything and nothing needs a name.
Tumblr media
The stairwell smelled like dust and concrete. Your sneakers scuffed softly against the steps as you both raced to the top of a half-abandoned building. Ni-ki held the heavy metal door open with his foot and gestured dramatically.
“Milady.”
You rolled your eyes but stepped through anyway, the rooftop spreading wide around you. Lights below painted the night in specks of yellow and white. Somewhere far away, someone was playing old jazz from a window. It was scratchy, imperfect, beautiful.
Ni-ki dropped his bag and lay flat on the gravel, hands behind his head. You stayed standing, arms crossed, just watching the skyline.
“You ever feel like the city’s alive?” you said.
He turned his head toward you. “All the time. Like it’s watching us and laughing.”
You laughed too. “Or warning us.”
“Or both.”
There was a long pause before he added, “I like being up here with you.”
No soft music. No perfect lighting. Just those words in the dark.
You sat down next to him, legs stretched out, shoulder brushing his. Still no labels. Still no pressure. Just him. Just you. Just this.
Ni-ki didn’t explain much. He never did. Just said, “Come on,” and you followed.
He led you through narrow alleys and side streets until you reached an old record store with faded signage and dusty windows. The kind of place that looks closed even when it’s open. He pulled a key from his back pocket like it was nothing.
“You have a key to a whole shop?” you asked, not hiding your surprise.
He smirked. “I help the owner sometimes. He lets me crash here when I don’t wanna be home.”
He pushed open the door, the little bell overhead clinking softly, even in the dark. Inside, it smelled like old vinyl and wood polish. A warm kind of forgotten. Like the city’s heartbeat lived in this shop.
You wandered to the jazz section without thinking. Your fingers traced the album covers gently, the soft paper whispering as you flipped through them. Ni-ki disappeared behind the counter for a second, then soft music crackled to life through the speakers—some lo-fi record that sounded like rain on pavement.
He watched you from across the room, leaning back against the counter, arms crossed. You felt it. That stare. Quiet and intense and… not uncomfortable. Just real.
“You always know where the good stuff is,” he said.
You looked over your shoulder. “That your way of saying you like my taste?”
“I like a lot of things about you,” he said simply.
You blinked. For a moment, the music was the only thing filling the silence.
Then he walked toward you, slow. Careful. Like he wasn’t sure if he should, but he wanted to anyway.
You didn’t move. Just met him there, between Miles Davis and Coltrane.
He stood in front of you, eyes dark and soft all at once. “Can I do something reckless?”
You tilted your head. “Like what?”
He didn’t answer.
Just kissed you.
Not in that perfect movie way—more like a nervous maybe. Hesitant. Then deeper when you didn’t pull away. The kind of kiss that tasted like sugarless gum and midnight coffee. That said I’ve been meaning to do this but didn’t want to ruin it.
When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours.
You didn’t say anything.
Didn’t need to.

Cryptic Rooftop Murder Scenario
Pairing: Sylus/OC (Ameris)
Summary:
Ameris is led to the Rooftop of Sylus' Skyhaven home, where he has a surprise waiting for her.
Masterlist
Taglist: @mcdepressed290
Word count: 2,061
A/N: Hi I'm back and alive somehow. I handed in the essay that way giving me SO MUCH GRIEF a few hours ago, then had the greatest nap of my life. I don't know if updates will become more frequent yet, but they will be happening more!
***
Humming quietly as it coasted along the elevated roads, the train sliced through thick banks of mist that clung to the city like memory. Skyhaven rose ahead of them like a monument carved from light and shadow—its towers elegant and jagged, their spires reaching into a sky smudged with the bruised remnants of dusk. The city shimmered, veins of gold and blue light threading through its architecture like living circuitry. Beneath that radiant skin, something pulsed—quiet, steady, like a sleeping giant’s heartbeat. From her seat, Ameris watched it unfold through the glass, her breath leaving ghostly trails on the surface as she traced idle shapes in the condensation. Her gaze held the kind of distant weight only nostalgia or dread could bring, her thoughts slipping between the folds of the city and the silence beside her.
They stopped in front of a narrow, unremarkable building tucked between two towering monoliths that glittered with wealth and modernity. Compared to its neighbours, this structure looked like a fossil from another time—its glass façade tinted red, veined with dark brass accents that caught the ambient glow like dying embers. There was no signage, no doorman or valet waiting at attention. Only stillness. Only quiet.
Ameris stepped out, the click of her boots breaking the hush as she surveyed the building’s mirrored face. It offered no clues, only reflections. Her arms folded across her chest as Sylus came to stand beside her, his presence solid and unbothered. “It looks like a hotel,” she murmured, not hiding her suspicion.
“It isn’t,” Sylus replied, already walking ahead with that same unshakeable certainty. “It just wears the skin of one.”
The front doors opened soundlessly, swallowing them into a lobby soaked in low amber light and hushed warmth. Stone pillars rose through the space like petrified trees, their bases wrapped in lazy streams of water that fed into shallow pools, the air laced with the gentle murmur of moving currents. The scent of red datura hung faintly in the air, floral and haunting, like a memory waiting to be triggered. There were no staff, no guests—just curated opulence and the sense of being watched by something that had no eyes.
Ameris tilted her head, eyes roving across the space. “Let me guess—you own this place.”
Sylus pressed the elevator call button without looking at her, his voice low and even. “It’s mine. Though, I rarely come here anymore. Not with Ever circling Skyhaven like vultures.”
A soft chime answered them, and the elevator doors slid open. Smudge bounded inside first, tail high, moving with the easy arrogance of a creature who believed everything belonged to him. He wove between their legs before claiming a corner, curling up with the confidence of someone who had done this a hundred times before.
The ride up passed in silence—the kind that filled in the spaces between thoughts, dense and intimate. It wrapped around Ameris like a weighted blanket, each floor they passed making her feel both closer to something and farther from safety. She stood with her arms loose at her sides, yet tension coiled in her shoulders, subtle but present. Sylus stood still beside her, hands in his coat pockets, his gaze locked on the slow climb of the floor numbers like they were counting something more than distance.
When the doors finally opened, the suite revealed itself like a secret. Floor-to-ceiling windows cradled the space, wrapping it in a soft glow cast by the city’s lights. The room felt suspended above the world, floating. Dark wood stretched beneath their feet, broken only by low, sculpted furniture and seamless stone counters. Everything was warm, golden, quiet. It was not a place where someone lived, but rather a space held in readiness—like a stage awaiting a scene, or a sanctum prepared for a ritual.
Ameris walked slowly, letting her fingers trail along the back of a leather chair, the smooth grain of the long dining table. It was too curated to be casual. Too clean to be accidental. Yet it wasn’t sterile—it was intimate, somehow. Charged. As if the air remembered laughter or arguments, even if the room had never heard either.
Smudge leapt onto the bed, his tiny paws sinking into the thick blankets as he pawed and turned and finally curled up into a perfect coil near the pillows. Ameris smiled, just faintly, her gaze softening for a beat before Sylus moved into her periphery, holding out a coat.
“Come with me.”
She raised an eyebrow, slipping her arms through the sleeves. “Is this a cryptic rooftop murder scenario?”
“Close,” he said, and though his lips barely moved, she caught the twitch of a smile. “But there’s dinner first.”
The elevator doors opened directly onto the rooftop, but what lay beyond them was not the cold sprawl of the industrial skyline—it was a dream carved into stone and vine. Soft lanterns floated between strands of fairy lights, casting delicate halos onto the terrace. Vines spilled from planters in violet and green, wrapping the space in wild beauty, as if nature itself had been invited in and given permission to bloom. The air was cool, and fresh, touched with the scent of rain clinging to flowers that only bloomed after dusk. It felt like stepping out of time.
A small table waited beneath the canopy of lights. Two chairs. One bottle of wine. Flickering candles cast shifting shadows across the stone floor. The glasses were already half-filled, like even time had paused to breathe here.
Ameris froze, momentarily struck silent. “You did this for me?”
Sylus stepped ahead of her, voice brushed with warmth. “For us.”
They sat close, and neither of them shifted to widen the space. The meal came in slow, thoughtful courses—each one something Ameris loved but had never said aloud. Sylus knew anyway. Of course, he did. Between bites, they drifted in and out of conversation. Nothing urgent. Nothing planned. Just small fragments of a shared world—memories of Smudge’s many crimes, the quiet above the city, the surreal calm that comes when the world stops demanding things from you, even if only for a breath.
Ameris laughed. Laughed. The kind of laughter that came from somewhere deep and honest, shaking her shoulders and warming her eyes. It wasn’t loud, but it was alive, and it cracked through the long-standing quiet like light through broken stained glass.
Sylus didn’t laugh. He only watched her—like he was seeing something rare, maybe even sacred. His gaze was still, reverent. As if he were afraid to move and shatter the moment just by existing too loudly.
By the time the plates disappeared—spirited away by unseen hands or quiet automation—neither of them noticed. The wine had gone untouched for a while, forgotten in favour of something far more intoxicating. The stars had broken through the clouds in scattered rebellion, gleaming like secrets in a sky that no longer bothered to hide.
Ameris leaned back in her chair, a hand wrapped around the base of her wine glass, idly tracing the rim with slow circles. Her body had relaxed, but her eyes hadn’t dulled. They found Sylus, locked on him like a puzzle she still couldn’t solve, no matter how much she already knew him. There was tension in her, beneath the calm—a wire drawn taut, a breath held.
“You’re not going anywhere, are you?” she asked, her voice quieter than the wind that stirred the vines.
Sylus turned to her fully. His voice didn’t need to rise. “Not a chance.”
He stood, then, and held out his hand.
Ameris hesitated for only a moment before placing her glass on the table and sliding her hand into his. He led her to the terrace edge, where the city sprawled beneath them like a living constellation. She leaned against the railing, and he stepped behind her, wrapping his arms around her like he might never get to again. He kissed the top of her head. She leaned back into him without thinking, as if her body remembered something even her mind hadn’t decided yet.
“So what part of this turns into the cryptic rooftop murder?” she asked softly, not wanting to break the moment, but needing to know what he was planning.
Sylus didn’t answer with words. He stepped back instead, and when she turned, he was already lowering himself to one knee, moving with the kind of grace that came only from certainty.
“Sylus?” Her voice caught. The world seemed to blur at the edges, time slowing to the sound of her heartbeat. She couldn’t decide what to look at—his face, open and so achingly vulnerable, or the ring he now held between them.
It was dark—so dark it drank in the light. The band is shaped like a laurel crown, wrapped around a pink sapphire cut into a teardrop. It shimmered with something more than light—something alive, something intimate. It pulsed, faintly. Like a heart.
“I know we said later,” Sylus said, steady despite everything trembling in the air around them. “And we will. We’ll wait for however long. But I want to give you this now. Not because I expect anything back. But because I don’t want to wait until the world stops burning to tell you I’m yours.”
She dropped to her knees, breath shattering, eyes brimming with tears as her hands rose to cradle his face. Her voice was barely more than a whisper. “You’re doing this in the middle of everything.”
“I am,” he said, not flinching. “Because in the middle of everything else, this is the only thing I’ve ever been sure of. You.”
Ameris didn’t wait. Her lips met his in a kiss that was full of everything—grief, longing, hope, love. When they parted, she pressed her forehead to his, still shaking. “You idiot,” she said, tears streaking her cheeks. “Of course, I’ll marry you.”
He slid the ring onto her finger like it was something sacred. The metal kissed her skin, cool at first, then warm—like it belonged there. Like it had been waiting. It pulsed against her, the rhythm syncing with her heartbeat.
She looked down, admiring the stone’s soft glow, but Sylus tilted her chin back toward him. “You can stare at it later.”
And then he kissed her again—slow, sure, quiet. The kind of kiss people give when everything is uncertain, but love is not. Her hands slipped behind his neck. His fingers tangled in her hair. All around them, the city kept breathing, unaware of what had just been promised above its sleeping streets.
When they finally parted, Ameris stayed close, her breath still uneven. “This doesn’t change Ever’s threats,” she whispered.
“I know.”
“It doesn’t fix the curse.”
“I know.”
“But it’s ours.”
He smiled against her, his hands still cupping her face. “It’s ours.”
The night seemed to lean in around them, holding its breath—until a loud, unmistakable yowl echoed from within the suite. Smudge’s cry rang out like a siren of feline injustice, sharp and insistent, demanding immediate attention for what was a grievous neglect of bedtime rituals. Ameris broke into a laugh that caught halfway in her throat, somewhere between cracked and healing, while Sylus let out a soft chuckle of his own. He pulled her back into his arms without hesitation, warm and unguarded now, and pressed a kiss to her cheek that lingered—not rushed, not stolen, but freely given.
The curse still lingered, a shadow they both knew waited just beyond the edge of this quiet moment. The war still loomed, sharpening its fangs in silence. There were choices ahead that would demand everything of them—costs they hadn’t begun to count. But for now, none of it held weight. The night wrapped around them like a secret, the stars above bearing witness not to fear or fire or fate, but to something far more fragile and defiant. Here, in the hush between heartbeats, with a cat howling indignantly in the background and love finding its feet in the dark, they let the world wait.
“So, about this cryptic murder rooftop scenario…” Ameris pulled away to look at Sylus’ features, the man laughing at her call back.
“You should know by now that I never reveal my plans too early, Sweetie.”

Dubai Dreams: Luxurious Event Decor Redefined
Where elegance and beauty and memories to be held dear are at stake, Dubai takes the forefront. Dubai is renowned for being excessively extravagant and boasting an unmatched attention to detail and has proven itself to be a world champion when it comes to luxury celebration. Whether it is extravagant weddings or corporate gatherings or bespoke private events, event decorations Dubai play the crucial role of turning bland areas into breathtaking spectacles of wonder and grandeur.
Personalization and creativity are the pillars of Dubai's event industry. A birthday party in the desert or a destination wedding in a luxury hotel—there's no limit to what can be done when it comes to Dubai event decor. Each event is an event in itself, and the decor tells the world volumes about what kind of story it's going to be. Because of this reason, more and more people are turning to experienced decorators who help turn imagination into reality.
The beauty of event decorations Dubai lies in their versatility. You’ll find themes ranging from modern minimalist to traditional Arabian nights, and everything in between. One day, an event space might be adorned with cascading orchids and crystal chandeliers; the next, it could be transformed into a vibrant Moroccan souk. This dynamic range of decor is what makes Dubai’s events so spectacular.
Behind every breathtaking setup is a team of dedicated professionals. These designers and planners understand that event decorations Dubai are more than just aesthetic—they create ambiance, evoke emotions, and bring people together. Dubai’s decor experts blend international trends with regional flair to craft experiences that resonate with guests long after the event ends.
Corporate events are not an exception. Dubai companies understand how much it matters to impress and invest in event decor Dubai in an attempt to deliver professionalism and company identity. From product launch to awards ceremony or business conventions, the appropriate decor can add glitz to an event and a lasting impression to the audience.
Private parties are no less extravagant. Birthdays, anniversaries, and baby showers in Dubai are typically organized with the glamour of a film. With event decor Dubai, even a simple get-together can feel like a red-carpet affair. All about the details—personalized signage, selfie booths, and flower arrangements that also serve as Instagram-worthy hotspots.
Naturally, the flowers are in a vital part of most such environments. As we will not expand, while somebody buys some new, good-appearing ones, people are inclined to let a well-credited flower shop Dubai produce their party memorable through beauty. Ranging from the centerpieces to flower store dubai  arcs, these decorative elements bring the entire atmosphere into live.
What actually distinguishes event decor Dubai is the city's love of innovation. Designers do not hesitate to push boundaries—using LED installations, 3D mapping, and even holograms to bring immersive experiences. Dubai events are no longer visited—they're experienced.
One of the latest trends is green decor. Planners are now more and more using green event decor Dubai in the form of reusable objects, green lighting, and local objects. This is proof of how much more the world is learning about being ecologically sound even in luxury.
Venues also play an important role in deciding the decor experience. From beach resorts and desert camps to garden terraces and skyscraper rooftops, every venue offers unique opportunities. Professional planners design their event decorations Dubai for the theme as well as the natural ambiance of the venue to achieve a uniform look and feel.
You cannot talk of Dubai decor without mentioning cultural influences. From international to Emirati, things happen in the city in an awe-inspiring combination of styles. You may find classical Arabic patterns mixed with modern metallic accents—a feast to the eye of old and new. Such layering of cultures is just one of the reasons event decorations Dubai are adored all over the world.
For weddings, the expectations are higher. Couples desire nothing but perfection, and the planners deliver it. Serene candle light, hand-stitched platforms, and exotic flower arrangements (most of which are sourced from a luxury flower shop Dubai) make fantasy come alive. In a city where extravagance is the norm, each wedding attempts to outdo the last one—and it probably does.
In order to establish an irretrievable party, it is in the details that they are to focus. Hence, hosts splurge on the money to acquire custom props, lighting designs, and custom installations. These objects, in the right team of hands, are what event decorations Dubai can become.

Everything You Need to Know About Bird Control in Dubai's Urban Areas
Birds are an integral part of nature, yet in urban settings like Dubai, they can often become a nuisance. With the city’s rapid development, the dense infrastructure, and a surge in human activity, birds have found new places to roost and nest, sometimes causing significant issues for property owners, businesses, and local authorities. In this article, we will explore why bird control is crucial in Dubai’s urban landscape, which species are the most problematic, and how effective bird control Dubai methods, both legal and ethical, can help manage the situation.
Tumblr media
Why Is Bird Control Important in Dubai’s Urban Landscape?
Dubai’s urban environment presents unique challenges for bird control. With towering skyscrapers, large shopping malls, and public spaces, it becomes the ideal habitat for certain bird species. Unfortunately, the consequences of unchecked bird populations can be quite severe.
First, birds can cause structural damage to buildings by nesting in gutters, air conditioning units, or even on ledges. The droppings from birds not only stain surfaces but can also damage roofing, signage, and ventilation systems. Moreover, bird droppings are highly corrosive, which can weaken the integrity of building materials over time.
Second, birds can pose health risks. Bird droppings are known to carry diseases, which can be transmitted to humans. They can also attract pests such as flies and rodents, which further complicates matters.
Lastly, excessive bird populations can disrupt public spaces. They often crowd outdoor seating areas, markets, and even public transportation stations, creating an uncomfortable environment for residents and visitors alike. Thus, it’s clear that bird control is necessary to maintain both the aesthetic value and safety of urban spaces.
Tumblr media
Common Bird Species Causing Nuisance in Dubai
While Dubai is home to a variety of bird species, a few have become notorious for causing disruptions in urban environments. In particular, the following species are commonly associated with problems in the city:
Pigeons: One of the most common culprits in urban environments, pigeons are often found nesting in building crevices and ledges. Their droppings can accumulate quickly, causing unsightly messes and damage to structures.
Seagulls: Known for scavenging in public spaces, seagulls often cause problems around outdoor restaurants, beaches, and parks. Their loud calls and aggressive behavior towards food can be unsettling.
Crows: Crows are highly intelligent but can be a nuisance when they invade residential areas or commercial spaces. They tend to steal food, damage crops, and sometimes even break into trash bins.
Sparrows: Though small, sparrows can create significant issues when they build nests in air conditioning vents or other parts of buildings, potentially leading to blocked ventilation systems.
Therefore, understanding which bird species are causing the issues is the first step in addressing the problem effectively.
Tumblr media
Effective Bird Control Methods: From Deterrents to Professional Services
There are several ways to manage bird populations, ranging from simple deterrents to more comprehensive professional pest control services. Let’s take a look at some of the most effective methods:
Visual Deterrents: Devices such as reflective tape, fake predators (like owls or hawks), or even bright LED lights can help deter birds from roosting in specific areas. These visual cues make the space less inviting to birds.
Auditory Deterrents: High-frequency sound emitters or recorded bird distress calls can be used to discourage birds from settling in an area. However, these methods may not be as effective in noisy environments, like busy streets or markets.
Physical Barriers: Installing bird spikes, netting, or wire systems can prevent birds from landing or nesting in certain areas. These physical barriers are especially useful for rooftops, window ledges, and gutters.
Professional Bird Control Services: For more persistent problems, it may be necessary to call in professional bird control services. Companies like Al Waha Hygiene offer specialized services that include bird netting installation, bird traps, and even relocating birds safely. Thus, opting for a professional service ensures a long-term solution that adheres to local regulations and ethical standards.
In summary, a combination of preventive measures and professional services can effectively manage bird populations in urban areas.
Tumblr media
Legal and Ethical Aspects of Bird Control in Dubai
When implementing bird control measures, it’s essential to be aware of the legal and ethical implications involved. For example, some bird species are protected by law, and it is illegal to harm or kill them.
Firstly, the Dubai Municipality regulates pest control and wildlife management in the city. This includes the protection of birds, which means that while you can take action to prevent birds from nesting on your property, you must do so in a humane way. Secondly, Al Waha Hygiene emphasizes the importance of adhering to local laws when carrying out bird control services. Their solutions focus on deterring birds rather than harming them, ensuring that all methods used are legal and ethical.
Therefore, it’s critical to work with experienced and reputable professionals who understand the nuances of bird control laws in Dubai.
How to Choose the Right Bird Control Solution for Your Property
Choosing the right bird control service is paramount for effective management. Al Waha Hygiene is a trusted name in the industry, known for their commitment to providing ethical and legal solutions. Here’s why you should consider them for your bird control needs:
Expertise: With years of experience in the field, Al Waha Hygiene understands the local bird species and the best methods to deal with them.
Comprehensive Services: Whether you need visual deterrents, netting, or professional removal, Al Waha Hygiene offers a full range of bird control solutions tailored to your property’s needs.
Eco-Friendly: The company uses sustainable and humane methods, ensuring that no harm comes to the birds while still providing effective control.
Regulatory Compliance: Al Waha Hygiene adheres to all local regulations, ensuring that their services are legal and ethical.
Therefore, working with Al Waha Hygiene provides peace of mind, knowing that your bird control needs will be met efficiently, legally, and humanely.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
In conclusion, bird control is a critical issue in Dubai’s urban areas. The city’s unique environment provides ample opportunities for birds to nest and roost, causing both property damage and public health risks. Understanding which bird species are causing the most problems, alongside employing effective and humane bird control methods, is essential for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Final Words
Ultimately, bird control is not just about keeping your property clean; it’s also about ensuring safety and compliance with local laws. With the right solutions, like those offered by Al Waha Hygiene, you can protect your property and the community without compromising ethical standards. Remember, a combination of deterrents, barriers, and professional services can offer long-term relief from bird-related nuisances.

Tower-ing Fiction #21: Poseidon Casino & Hotel, The Family Plan (2023)
by Shawn Gilmore
The Poseidon Casino & Hotel—a visual amalgamation of the hotel portion of The Stratosphere in Las Vegas and the AmericasMart center in Atlanta—dominates the third act of The Family Plan (dir. Simon Cellan Jones, 2023). Narratively, the film concerns a former assassin (Dan Morgan, played by Mark Wahlberg), now car salesman, who, along with his family, is pursued by his former employer, leading to a climactic series of fights at The Poseidon.
The Poseidon’s footprint and front entrance are set on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Bob Stupak Avenue, where, just as in the real Las Vegas, one turns under the Gateway Arches to enter The Stratosphere’s (currently branded as The STRAT) drop-off area.
Note the two prominent buttresses that extend into the landscaped area around a diagonal pedestrian walkway, which in the film contains a sculpture of Poseidon (where The Stratosphere has a sculpture called “LOOK!”).
However, the Poseidon removes The Stratosphere’s iconic 1,149’ (350.2m) tower, extending the rounded façade above its entrance up a dozen or so stories, while also raising the hotel portion to a total of fifty stories, adding a rooftop bar and logo sign.
This new rooftop is borrowed from the AmericasMart roof of Building 3 of the AmericasMart center in downtown Atlanta (where much of the film was shot), which features seventeen long rows of barrel skylights, fanned out from the center.
Beneath these is the Poseidon’s open atrium—really the Grand Atrium on Floor 2 of AmericasMart Building 3, a fourteen-story space, designed by John C. Portman, Jr., typically used as an event space—the setting of the film’s climactic gunfight.
This space is dominated by an elaborate circular bar, with overgrown foliage and detritus from when the Poseidon was supposedly a thriving casino and hotel.
Central pill-shaped elevators move up through the center of the atrium, eventually rising through the ceiling to the exterior, similar to those of the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, which was built in the wake of Portman’s first atrium hotel, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.
The lower areas of the atrium are dressed as a disused casino, though with enough lighting to be sufficiently moody, as the antagonists (led by McCaffrey, played by Ciarán Hinds) hunt through the building for Morgan and his family.
Morgan attempts to get the drop on the assailants from an upper balcony, guided by his son, who flies a drone through the atrium at various points.
The gunfight plays out as expected, with Morgan fighting off various gunmen from the bar on the atrium floor.
Meanwhile, some of the attackers head upstairs, giving a good look at a floor plan of the Poseidon.
Upstairs, Morgan’s family (his wife Jessica, played by Michelle Monaghan, and their children) is held hostage by Gwen (Maggie Q) and her thugs, in a suite with views of various prominent Vegas locations: the Wynn Las Vegas. the Sphere (still under construction), the Palazzo at the Venetian, Treasure Island, and so on.
Interestingly, this perspective puts the Poseidon about where the Fashion Show mall is currently located, a couple of miles from The Stratosphere.
The well-appointed suite (in the abandoned Poseidon…) also opens on the interior to a spiral stairwell, down which one of the baddies is dispatched.
The action progresses to the roof, under the Poseidon’s signage, continuing in and around the fiftieth-floor Trident Bar.
These rooftop views further solidify the Poseidon’s location in this phase of the film, with Treasure Island, the Venetian, and the High Roller Observation Wheel to the North.
A multi-level tiki bar, the Trident is the setting for the final fight between Jessica and Gwen
Capping off the film at the Poseidon’s summit, with Jessica as her husband equal and opposite.

Prompt 22 with Shiggy? Congrats on 500 followers, you deserve many more to be honest!!
Super super old request, so not even sure if this anon follows me anymore, but here it is. It's been a wild time lately, but I finally felt inspired to write this one and wanted to run with it. Thank you for your support, anon! I hope you like it!
Warnings: soft shiggy, fluff, reader is struggling emotionally in the beginning.
Word count: 2338
22. “Take my hand. Just trust me.”
It was one of those days. One of those days where it felt like the world was against you, where you felt you were hanging by a single, frayed thread with a black abyss below you, threatening to swallow you up.
You didn’t want to feel this. You felt fragile. Angry. Sad. You wanted to cry, to scream, to laugh. You weren’t sure what you wanted; emotions swirled in you like a tempest, crashing against you like the wind and rain against a rickety house. It turned your mind to mush and made your chest tight, every nerve in your body tensed like a coil.
But despite the maelstrom roiling within your veins, your outward demeanor was one of calm serenity, your face still as stone with a half-smile plastered to your face. It was a well-practiced façade, perfected over many years to camouflage your internal struggle from curious eyes.
Which was why you found yourself completely stunned when Shigaraki of all people, took notice.
He didn’t say anything outright... not in front of the others. Instead, he walked by where you sat on the old, beat up couch, pausing just long enough to speak in a low tone meant for your ears only.
“Come with me.”
You froze, staring up at him dumbly with your phone in your hand. He didn’t repeat himself, instead waiting with his red eyes staring down at you. His expression was stoic, his chapped lips closed in silence. But his eyes... his eyes held a light in them that seemed to seek you out in the darkness like a candle. It was strong, radiating heat that began to melt the stone of emotion lodged in your throat and unwind the knot in your stomach like skilled, invisible hands.
A long moment passed, and you realized he was still waiting, not allowing you the opportunity of feigning ignorance and refusing his request. You clenched your jaw to keep yourself from worrying your lip between your teeth and stood.
Once he knew he had your compliance, he broke his gaze and led you out of the door towards the old stairwell.
Neither of you spoke as you ascended. Up and up you went, winding your way past the second floor, the third floor, until you finally reached the roof access. The golden glow of afternoon sun exploded into the dimly lit space when Shigaraki pushed the door open. It bathed him in an angelic glow, nearly blinding you as it burned the imprint of his silhouette onto the back of your eyes. It was an ironic contrast to his violent nature; Shigaraki was more demon than angel, with his red eyes and destructive hands. But in this moment, the line of good and evil blurred as he held the door open for you. It was these little moments, these little acts of kindness that stacked like bricks to offer a foundation of stability in your otherwise chaotic world, a creation of safety built by a creature of destruction.
The sun was on its steady descent to the horizon, long shadows beginning to stretch across the rooftops as the world moved below. The top of the roof had an old billboard display, it’s signage long since torn away by the harsh hands of weather and time. The stairs to grant access to its platform were just within reach, and Shigaraki climbed it easily with a strength far greater than his clothed body implied. It was as if gravity were nothing to him, his partially clothed fingers gripping the bars with ease until he was high enough for his feet to find purchase on the rungs below.
You hesitated, staring at the metal rails skeptically. Unlike Shigaraki, you didn’t have the body strength to haul yourself up after him.
“Um...” you started.
He paused and looked down at you from his position, and it took the briefest of moments for him to understand the cause of your hesitation. He descended slightly, one foot on the bottom-most rung as he reached out a free hand to you.
“Here.” He offered.
You stared at his hand, at the leather covering his fingers. They were the only barrier between you and death, but that wasn’t why you hesitated.
You heart pounded in your chest. “I...”
“Take my hand. Just trust me.” Shigaraki said. And again, he waited. He waited with a patience that could only be achieved by understanding, a silent recognition of what your hesitation meant.
It wasn’t just about his quirk, or the touch of his hand. It was about trust. And if anyone understood how difficult it was to trust, it was Shigaraki.
Slowly you raised your hand to his. It wasn’t until your own fingers wrapped around his wrist that he closed his hand around yours. You could feel the warmth of his touch against your wrist where your pulse fluttered wildly. It was like the forging of two links, a chain of faith and surrender connecting the two of you.
With a single pull, he lifted you easily, moving to the side of the ladder to give you room to join him. His strength left you awestruck and breathless as your hands and feet found purchase against the cold metal bars. They felt flimsy beneath your tight grip as you clung to them fearfully, but the metal was far more sturdy than it looked.
Shigaraki framed you against the ladder with his arms on either side of you, hands positioned just below yours on the edges. The heat of his body was warm against your back as he waited for you to begin your ascent. You’d never been so close to him before, and you couldn’t decide if you wanted to lean further into the hard warmth of his body or flee.
But fleeing was impossible, and leaning into his warmth... well, that wasn’t exactly wise either. Still, you felt more secure with him at your back, and it made your ascent easier.
Slowly, carefully, you made your way up. As soon as you reached the platform, you sat down, your back firm against the billboard. The rooftop looked farther down that you’d thought it would, the street below even more so. Your body was rigid with fear as you struggled to ignore the vertigo that threatened to take over.
Not a moment later, you felt the warm comfort of Shigaraki sitting next to you, his arm pressed firmly against yours.
“You won’t fall.” He stated. The words weren’t just meant as empty reassurance. They were a promise, and they wrapped around you as securely as if he were holding you firmly in his arms.
You tore your eyes away from the street down below filled with passing cars and walking people to look at him. His ruby eyes met yours, and there was something strangely soft beneath the sharp-edged jewels. You’d never seen that before; especially when those eyes looked at you.
Heat warmed your body, and you averted your eyes.
“Why did you bring me here?” you asked.
“You looked like you could use it.” He replied. “I come here sometimes. When things start to feel like they’re too much.”
Silence fell for a moment, and you stared down at his hand that sat centimeters from your own. A strong urge to wrap your fingers in his surged deep in your chest, and you fought against it with every fiber of your being.
His voice cut through your internal struggle.
“Look up, or you’re going to miss it.”
“Miss what?” you replied, even as your eyes tore themselves painfully away from the long, calloused digits.
“The sunset.” He replied.
And what a sunset it was. Below, the streets were now blanketed in dusk, the sun too low to reach the asphalt. But here, up on the rooftops, the last vestiges of the day lingered. Clouds chased the setting sun, in a frantic race to bathe themselves in colors of neon pink and hot orange. The sky began to usher in the early signs of twilight, the baby blue of daytime maturing into a dusky blue-grey. The brilliant colors and shining orange of the sun reflected off the windows of the cityscape, a sea of rainbow glass contrasted against the growing shadows. All around you, the day danced hand-in-hand with the evening like star-crossed lovers always destined to kiss only in passing.
It washed away the suffocation you'd been trapped under, cleansing your soul even if only for this moment.
This was a gift. Shigaraki had given you a gift.
Why?
Because he cared. It was the easiest, simplest explanation, yet the hardest one to believe. Sure, some deep, secret part of you had dreamed, fantasized even. But you'd never even bothered to hope, let alone believe...
Shigaraki's voice cut through your epiphany, calm as a lake. “Don’t look at the city.”
“What?” you broke your gaze from the beauty before you to look at him. His eyes didn’t meet yours this time, instead trained far away in the distance.
“Don’t look at the city.” He repeated. “Look beyond it.”
He pointed, and you followed his finger beyond the city’s edge to the mountain ridge silhouetted in deep grey-purple as the sun began to dip behind it. In front of the mountains, low hills blanketed in a pale evening mist rolled down like gentle waves to meet the city’s edge where humanity began. There, the fluidity of nature surrendered to the straight edges of rooftops and streets, freeways and train tracks.
“Do you see it?” he asked. You nodded quietly, and he continued. “Out there... that’s where real freedom is. No rules. No limits. No good or evil, no heroes or villains. Everything just existing as it was meant to. A mouse will be a mouse and a bear will be a bear. The strongest survive until they become the weak. Then their time comes one way or another, making way for whatever comes next, and life goes on. Life and destruction, coexisting as it always has.”
“Sounds dangerous,” you teased through a half-smile.
Shigaraki’s mouth quirked up slightly. “Sounds exciting.” he replied. “At least there, everything is as it seems. There's no false gods or fake morals. No lies, no betrayal.”
Something in his tone made you act on instinct, and you took his hand in yours, winding your fingers with his own.
He looked at you then, his expression guarded, his eyes questioning. But he didn’t pull his hand away, either.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Holding your hand.” You replied.
“Why?”
A soft smile curved your lips. “You looked like you could use it.”
He stared at you a moment before he let out a soft, dry chuckle.
A long silence filled the space, pregnant with unspoken confessions wrapped up as forbidden secrets. But it wasn’t uncomfortable, not with your fingers locked together, filling the space where words could not. The sun finally dipped below the mountains, giving way to the city lights as neon signs and streetlights illuminated the evening.
Finally, Shigaraki broke the silence, his voice soft.
“I suppose I do.” He confessed.
A moment passed, and he let out a wry chuckle again.
“I brought you here to help you feel better.” He commented.
His words left an empty space for what he really meant – he hadn’t asked for your comfort. Yet here you were, giving it to him.
You smiled. “Trust me, I do feel better. Thank you for bringing here and sharing this with me.”
He stared at you for a moment before averting his eyes.
More companionable silence followed as you watched the night life come alive. Vehicles passed to the rhythm of the stoplights. People began walking the streets in search of bars. In the distance, spotlights danced back and forth across the sky where a concert was being held. A cold breeze brushed past both of you, causing goosebumps to tighten across your skin.
Perhaps you should have gone inside. It was nighttime now, the sunset long gone. The chill only worsened with each passing minute, the sun’s warmth becoming but a memory only to be replaced by cold starlight.
But you didn’t try to leave, and neither did he. There was something missing, something incomplete. An unasked question, an unspoken answer. To leave now would be to break something; something that didn’t even have a name yet. Something fragile and new.
Your hand squeezed his gently and you leaned your head on his shoulder.
“Tomura...” you whispered. “I promise... I will never lie or betray you.”
Your words were a confession poorly disguised as an oath, and they left your lips with unexpected ease, light in melody but heavy in meaning. The weight of them landed on Tomura’s heart, compressing the air from his lungs until it left him nearly breathless.
There it was.
He wasn’t sure if it would ever come; he wasn’t sure if his silence could will the words he wanted so desperately to hear into existence. But you said them, offering them freely as a gift, and now he didn’t know what to do with them.
You froze against him, your heart in your throat as you waited with bated breath for his reaction.
When he finally did break the silence, it was to say your name. You tilted your head up quickly to meet his eyes, your response rushing out faster and more eagerly than you intended. “Yes?”
His lips captured yours, his partially gloved hand cupping your jaw. The kiss was soft, far softer than you’d ever expected from such a man, even with the texture of his chapped lips against your smooth ones. You leaned into it easily, asserting your words with your actions.
The kiss felt infinite and instant at the same time. When it ended, you found yourself breathless and wanting more.
Tomura pulled away slightly, and your eyes fluttered open to stare into his ruby orbs. His hand was still on your jaw, his thumb stroking along your cheek in a gentle caress.
“Thank you.” He rasped.

Berlin Sketches pt 1
by T. Frank
My grandmother cannot fathom entering Germany. She was a child of the Great Depression and lived through the war safely from the Catskill Mountains of New York while her husband fixed radios on home turf. However, Germany represents a taboo in history for my grandparents as Jews. They would no sooner visit the Brandenberg Gate than they would try scuba diving without an oxygen tank.
 I constantly reflect on the trusted feeling of Home since I lived in Berlin for six weeks in fall of 2018. Previously, the longest trip I took was a ten-day tour of Israel through the organization Birthright: from the peak of a mountain overlooking three desert countries, to the crowded rush of the Jerusalem shuk, and my aversion to a display of American-Israeli nationalism on a military campus. The scenes and feelings form a whirlwind of hazy memories, much like any experience on new land.
A few days after I arrived back in the Bay Area, I sat in Strawberry Creek Park watching the sun go down and the light blue sky grow faint as night approached, seeking those moments of "awe" that came so suddenly in Berlin. This bright green park reminded me of the open recreational space I loved over there, even though the grass was literally greener on this side of the pond!  I distinctly remember the moment when I scarcely had to look up at the street signs and felt like whichever path I took, I would find my way. Nevertheless, five months ago, I had sent in an application for an unusual art residency, an immersion into the study of grief. I reflected on those periods of my life that had led to some of my deepest creations. Drawings of cancer cells and lungs, struggles to breathe and heal in the midst of choking emotion, flowers and vines winding through the dark themes. I yearned to express my observations of the world through whatever moved me, again.
~~~~~
The journey to Berlin was a three-legged trip with two layovers, leaving Friday evening and arriving at 10:00PM on Saturday. A huge, crowded economy flight, cheap and minimal. I tried to rest as the crew turned off all lights on board. No sooner did I close my eyes than it seemed like the sun was creeping over the horizon, and we touched down to a windy, barren tarmac. It was 9:00AM, as all the passengers disembarked in Reykjavik, Iceland, we felt the chill burrowing through our thin layers and shivered.
On the second leg, as the plane glided to the lowlands, I appreciated the bucolic farmland. I was alone in the Copenhagen airport. The crowds in Reykjavik were more diverse, like a burgeoning metropolis.  By contrast, everyone arriving in this Danish terminal looked alike: tall, blond, and, permit me, Aryan. They traveled in clusters of family groups, chatting, gesturing, smiling. I dragged my suitcase past designer boutiques to a desolate, unfinished terminal, where passengers awaited their flights without customary notice; but learned to say, Takk, Danish for "Thank you". When I finally reached Germany, I connected to the U-bahn, the underground subway. The ride was over an hour long, and I gazed at the subterranean signage, lost once more. Until I arrived at Rathaus Neukölln, and my new roommate Shimon met me outside in the rain.
The next day, I left the mattress that our hostess Amelia had set up on the floor, staggering about with jet lag. Luckily there's oatmeal, my favorite companion. Shimon and his friend Devorah from Tel Aviv are home. We discuss the neighborhood. ‘What if I get terribly lost, not only physically, but mentally, too?’ I thought. ‘Is this a dream? Why am I so far from anyplace I know?’ Devorah suggested a walk to the canal, with a Sunday flea market. Late afternoon, I ventured outdoors and discovered a slice of paradise.
At the end of the block, a large mosaic mural adorned a staircase which I took to have the impression of a rooftop. A large concrete lot surrounded a beautiful community garden. Raised flower beds were home to a bounty of colorful flowers, tall green vegetables grew under the sunshine and painted poles flanked handmade structures. I spotted a concrete ping-pong table, and mustered up the courage to join two men playing. One of them wore a baseball cap with "Cal" emblazoned in blue and yellow; by chance, he attended law school at UC Berkeley, and lived several blocks away from me! After a few rounds of ping-pong, the Germans drank beer and suggested that I check out a nearby landmark before sunset.
Cheered, I walked along and found an "I Love SF" sweatshirt at a pop-up flea market. More surprises awaited. I heard music, and pushed aside brambles to emerge in Hasenheide Park, where a large circle of guitarists and drummers jammed for casual onlookers. I saw an ornate mosque with blue and gold trim, a wide courtyard, and an outdoor faucet for washing hands or drinking cool, crisp water. Next door was Tempelhof Field. A former airport utilized during World War Two to fly-in supplies from the West, the unused tarmac was reinvented as an open recreational wonderland. I entered the gates and was met with flocks of activity: bicyclists, joggers, even a pair doing synchronized roller-skating. Dry, dull grass covered the fields, but a victory garden shined under the setting sun, and the barista of an on-site cafe recommended finding a good perch.
I joined two boys from Afghanistan, Hasan and Muhamed, watching the sky from tall ladder-seats. Muhamed and I grinned, struggling to hold a conversation between the lack of a common language. Google helped, but broken English got us farther. "Do you know there are still American police in my country?,” he exclaimed. My conscience bristling, I say that most people do not speak of the Afghan-American war anymore. The sun set in deep purple and vivid pink hues. Hasan saw my eyes light up at the sight of his bicycle, and offered me a ride--so, I sat sideways on the frame, clutching his black leather jacket, and answering "Ya" when asked, "Alles Gut?"until I grimaced from discomfort and Hasan laughed--"Kaput!" The two friends saw me off at a bus stop, and I stumbled on board as the passengers stared.
~~~~~
The following Monday, I walked twenty minutes from the apartment to arrive in front of a white-painted gallery, and no one around. Feeling nervous that the entire program was a hoax (just like my parents thought when they read the acceptance letter from the dubious-sounding organization),  I noticed a middle-aged man at a computer in the corner. I knocked on the window, and he let me inside. Here was a room devoid of decoration, save for a long rectangular table and six chairs, three of which were filled by women. Soon, another man entered the room and offered tea, introducing himself as our "mentor". We never referred to him by any name other than his own, even when I suggested “Alek”. He's over six feet tall, shaved head, and wore all black from his long-sleeved turtleneck to his sturdy dress shoes.
The participants introduced themselves. Sarah researched environmental grief, such as the devastation left behind from man-made disasters. Gwen studied grief theories in graduate school. Jasmine hoped to connect to refugees of war. And Sara--no error, there are two--prepared to make an installation honoring a departed friend. Linda would join us the following afternoon and plunge into an exploration of feeling othered through found objects. After we went over studio policies, we shared a bit on why we study grief, bringing several girls to tears. It felt like a group therapy session--and it wouldn't be the last.
~~~~~
Dear Talya, Gone to synagogue. It's a short walk from the canal. I forget the street name-'Pflug'-something. Come join me for Yom Kippur services. Love, Devorah. Without consulting a map, I asked for directions from three different shopkeepers to find the synagogue. Luckily, they understood English and didn’t express unsavory reactions to my Jewish-ness. Once I found the path parallel to the Canal, the temple came into view: a large building curving around a tranquil block, with stained glass windows and a grand façade. Security officers were stationed outside, and I was screened before entering. "Are you Jewish?" they ask.. "Yes." Unmoved, they question, "Do you pray?"
In August, I went to Washington, DC for my cousin’s wedding. Her family and friends are modern orthodox, or, religious. The day before the wedding, we were in shul for Shabbat services. During the long morning prayers, I read the English version of the Torah portion. The text alluded to the treatment of rape by virtue of marriage or the punishment of execution. By coincidence, this was the same chapter I studied for my Bat Mitzvah twelve years ago, but I must have been too young to grasp such explicit content. I left the room and spent the rest of services out in the hallway, tending to the potted plants as a distraction.
Did I pray? Not willfully on that day in the synagogue. Internally, yes, throughout my life: the inner dialogue between my spirit and the spirit of a G-d. But in practice, only with family over Shabbat blessings. So I answered, "No. But my Israeli friend is in there, can I go in?"
Yom Kippur services were surprisingly welcoming in Germany. Although the congregation was divided amongst the men and women, the dress code was more relaxed (jeans, white t-shirts), and several of the men held babies on their shoulders as the rabbi sang in Hebrew. I found Devorah and stood beside her. I recognized the somber prayer, "Avinu Malkeinu", and it felt no different than my family's congregation. The prayer books here were German on one side, and Hebrew on the other.
 After the ceremony, we passed by plenty of people enjoying the balmy weather at dusk. Devorah was reminded of holidays in her country, riding her bike freely while everyone took time off to relax. Shimon met us to break the fast with noodle phơ. I was lucky to connect with "my people", thousands of miles away from home. As a child, I remember feeling like my relatives’ religious differences divided us. However, my cultural upbringing is something I've retained and appreciate. Joining Israelis in Germany for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, was akin to sharing a secret amongst friends.
~~~~~
  As the weeks went by, I developed a habit of visiting the community garden, mornings before heading to the studio and nights on my way home. One weekend, I felt antsy as I read a book called The Truth Will Set You Free by Alice Miller. There was a campfire at the garden as they observed summer changing to chilly Autumn. I surveyed the party scene before resting into a corner of a homemade wooden bench under the dim glow from industrial lights around the lot.  Although the setting was not condusive to reading, I was shy to join the group. But, when I repositioned myself next to the fire, it was apparent that these young, hip, multinational guests preferred to speak in English. Rosa asked what I’m doing in Berlin. When I told her I’m studying grief, her voice got excited and she invited her friends into the conversation.
Annika was vivacious and full of life. I noticed her wisps of fuzzy blonde hair, bright in the glow of the fire. She was working on a memoir, and was also the subject of a photoshoot documenting her journey with cancer. As she spoke, I folded a paper crane and gave it to her, provoking a sense of delight. My idea for the residency then was to make a handmade book for participants to share their experiences of grief, and to make origami together. Annika agreed to be interviewed the following week.
~~~~~
I took the S-bahn, the above-ground trolley, several miles northwest where the buildings  are close to the city center. Annika told her story: how, at age 26, she discovered the cancer in her breast and rushed into several months of intensive treatment including antibody therapy, anti-hormone medicine, and chemotherapy. She ultimately received a double mastectomy and chose breast implants. For a month after surgery, Annika couldn't lift her arms over her head. It was painful, but her energy was focused on how to function normally again. Now, she was in recovery, undergoing radiation and daily physical therapy. She wholeheartedly embraced her body, and I felt a mixture of awe and love for her resilience and positive attitude.
I encouraged Annika to leave her mark in a communal scrapbook of stories. She drew a breast in pastel colors with words circling the nipple, such as "soft"-, "round"-, "hope"-, and "loss".- After I left the apartment, I boarded the train and closed my eyes. In the dark, I envisioned a bare, cream-colored orb, shiny and wet, like a peeled lychee fruit. Perhaps, I reasoned, this represented Annika's true self.
Back in the studio, I was at a loss to contribute during our group discussion. I almost broke down, overcome with emotions that arose from the interview. So I took a break from the sterile white walls, and sat under the chestnut tree in the courtyard. I picked up a spiny shell, cracked it open to reveal a creamy-brown belly. I wrote a meditation on the seed of the tree. I reflected on impermanence, on patience, on Annika taking her time to heal yet reveling in every healthy moment. I like taking my time.
"Hey Aleksander," I remarked in the midst of studio time, "Since the interview with Annika, I’ve been feeling down.” My mentor was sitting at a desk, drinking tea and writing in one of his many small notebooks. "Do you feel your own grief surface?," he replied. "No, more like I put myself in her shoes, and feel compassion." He advised, "Keep a journal--one just for yourself, your thoughts and daily experiences. And one for your work in the residency; write down everything you're thinking. It'll help, trust me."
THE TIMES SQUARE THEATER (PART III of III) Our last post left off with the Times Square theater narrowly averting multiple demolition attempts in the 70s and 80s. While the other theaters on the block were restored in the 1990s, the Times Square underwent various attempted repurposes including a professional wrestling-themed restaurant, club, and clothing store. All of these proposals failed, leaving the theater boarded up for over two decades, as the Times Square became a major tourist destination. In 2017, @stillmandevelopment was selected by The New 42nd to restore the theater for adaptive reuse, while preserving the theater's historic elements. The proposal incorporated the theater’s history, emphasizing its unique characteristics. Stillman proposed a $100 million renovation – approved by the Historic Preservation Committee – incorporating many of the original architectural details. The renovation calls for lifting the original limestone facade by 5 feet, creating a more dominating presence on 42nd St. Inside, original ornament  like the domed ceiling, arch, stage boxes, and cartouches – have been meticulously cataloged and are being restored. The former theater interior will then be converted into a double-height space that connects to a glass extension, leading to an outdoor rooftop. The glass will wrap the columns and cantilever over the street, allowing visitors a vista outside through the columns – and giving pedestrians a view in of the original architectural elements. The relation between the interior space and the public sidewalk is marvelous and emphasizes flow between the two, visibly and physically – proof that planning in Times Square has evolved from the inward-oriented public spaces common the 80s. When complete, the restored structure will offer 52,000 square feet of dynamic multi-level space over five levels for retail, entertainment or restaurant. The restoration will feature the addition of 4,000 square feet of LED billboard signage (currently the Times Square was one of the only frontages on 42nd Street without billboards). Construction started this year and plans to be completed in 2020, in time for the theater’s 100th anniversary. (at Times Square Theater) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByDkP_sHsr7/?igshid=1inmbkhjb60xa
