As Hopebery was just a tiny settlement with no temple to hold a wedding ceremony , soon-to-be married couples could exchange their vows by the threshold or front-door of the grooms home. This method of marriage is extremely common for the peasant class.
But once a temple has been established they would have to offer a marriage pence - which could be anything from coin, produce , or even promising one of their children to the church. But Quentrell and Laenor have time to decided.
(A marriage pence is basically paying the temple to "bless their union" , even if you didn't get married at a temple).

With the news of a new baby brother or sister coming soon , Florina felt little lonely.
So she went to the next door neighbor - The Bramblethorn family- In hope to forge some friendships!
Although the Bramblethorns were a station above her , Udele and Zedric made excellent playmates!

Quentrell was a born salesman and had a talent for - selling firewood for a low-low price!
(Apparently selling firewood from the stall doesn't work , what I did was after selling 5 pieces of firewood I sold 5 pieces from his inventory, but Quentrell won't be spending much time with the stall...)

The Rosenward family is the 3rd peasant family in Hopebury, consisting of a elderly woodcutter and his two young children, after losing his wife to the magma fever.
Although not a young man anymore , Quentrell Rosenward has the heart and strength of an ox!
With ax in hand he is determined to build himself and his children a good and honest life in the small settlement. Although it wont be easy as a single parent.
Florina , his eldest and only daughter , had a good heart with a tenderness of all life.
So much so , that when she found a stray kitten in the bushes she begged her father to keep her, which he agreed to. She named the cat Sweuite.
Robard , who was still very young , had a talent of causing trouble for his father and sister with his clumsy and easy going nature...

Florina was unsure how to feel about having a stepmother , but she still welcomed Laenor into the family. Hopefully with time Florina will warm up to her.

As Florina couldn't stay home with Robard alone , Quentrell took them with him almost everywhere.
The fish that was caught wasn't enough for fish soup , but it could be turned to gruel , a delicacy all peasants have the displeasure of eating daily.
Much like they had a choice, especially without a merchant or marketplace to buy from. At least it was food.

Although Quentrell was a elderly widower , surprisingly he has found a much younger love in Laenor Hellebore.
The way Laenor would look at him made him feel like he was a much younger man. Quentrell had met Xenia , his first wife , late in life and truly felt he would never experience that love again in his lifetime. He felt blessed that it wasn't that case.
(This couple is both adorable yet uncomfortable to watch. I had story progression on for a little bit so the settlers would meet and after this household I disabled it)

The further Laenor's pregnancy came , the harder did she try to bond with Florina , who often rejected her advances of bonding. It's strange , as Florina is a good and sweet girl to constantly reject all interactions with her stepmother.
Quentrell didn't seem to bothered by it , telling Laenor not to try so hard and that Florina would come around soon enough.

Quentrell was relived that everything went so well and thanked Solaine with a thousand thanks.
As payment he gave her 5 bundles of firewood , which she accepted gratefully!

At night Quentrell did less sleeping and resting as he did daydream of the past , present and future.
He though about how life use to be with Xenia , how life used to be easier and a bit lighter with a second adult in the home , especially one he loved so much.
It made him think about Laenor and the way she made him feel younger and stronger. He didn't think he would find love again after Xenia.
