Ruby makes me so sad when I think about her. She put her neck on the line for someone who had not only left her for someone who threatened the safety of all of her friends, that person also made Ruby seem like a predatory monster and a murderer. And Ruby just. Helped her because she needed help. You literally tell her that her friend betrayed her and led you, the police officer she's afraid of because she is sure you're going to kill her, basically to her. She doesn't even want to hurt you when you find her. She's not even that rude to you when you show up, she's just blunt and tired. She turns down the Pale Compressor because she feels bad for hurting you and Kim. She can run, but where is she running to? Where will she go? And if she dies, you don't even tell her known friends that she's dead. I dunno man she just makes me sad.

i chose the song under pressure bc not only was it an earworm i had during the time i was drawing this, but also because of this lovely edit that ignited some very strong emotions in me! go check it out!!!

i also considered choosing a tagalog song, but to be honest, i'm not much of a music listener so i didn't know enough songs that would've reminded me of disco elysium or had the vibes/inspiration i was looking for. but, oh well!

another inspiration for this drawing was that one sculpture with flowers bursting from its head that people were redrawing, i kind of wanted to capture that but a little differently! instead of drawing flowers, i get to draw one billion trillion disco elysium npcs good god why did i do that to myself

it's actually been a while since i've drawn this i'm trying to remember if i have anything else to say hm hm hmmm oh yea accessories harry's got are the eight-eyed teratorn tie and on the side is the hat he gets from annette! (it's not very obvious, it just looks like a very colorful part of the background too but that was what my idea was anyways pftt) i wanted harry to be wearing things that were out of the little acts of kindness you do in the game.

i haven't read thru the full zine yet bc i've been busy orz but from the pages i flipped through i'm just blown away by everyone's works!!! thanks so much for the mods for organizing this!!

made this regarding the situation which recently occurred on twitter because there was no way for me to stay quiet. disco elysium is inherently queer. that’s it. trying to deny that is not understanding the very basis of the game. you can’t claim to be a part of the fandom while being extremely homophobic or transphobic at the same time, nor get to take the clout for cosplaying a main queer character. do your research and stop embarrassing yourself, especially after you’ve already been exposed.

If you think about it Ruby is one of the coolest Disco Elysium characters because she ran away from the mob, joined a seperate mob, somehow managed to gain the respect of the local law enforcement to the point where she can give them directions and they will follow them, got into the world's messiest breakup, harnessed an incomprehensible force as a weapon using something she built herself out of most likely scraps and she didn't even use it to kill anyone she used to to hold off the police. And she's a butch lesbian that is at her core a kind person who puts others above herself until the point where she will die if she doesn't run.
