Simulations (1/?)

Part of any modern engineering or planning program is the use of simulation tools.

The following simulations have been completed by the Heelers (usually the whole family participates, other times it’s just Bluey) Note this doesn’t include reality-altering things like “daddy robot” or slowing down time or magic wands that make things heavy. This is a list of the simulations and important findings. This isn’t even all of them, (e.g. “Library”) I’ll continue the list another time! 🙂

The kids made Dad help them simulate the operation of a drainpipe factory - management issues, workers revolt (S1E31 “Work”)

A simulation of light rail transit (S2E15 “Trains”) Everything is running smoothly while Bingo is the only customer. Bingo’s use of the train is complex: home-to-daycare, daycare-to-workplace (vet), then the reverse trip at night, workplace-to-daycare, daycare-to-home, an example of trip-chaining. (Also, that’s great that Bingo locates her home, daycare, and workplace at transit stops, good use of transit-oriented development.)

Helicopter-for-hire service - some capacity issues (S2E25 “Helicopter”)

Operating a bus route - bus is destroyed, passengers and driver survive. (S2E22 “Bus”)

Taxi with what turned out to be a faulty satnav / GPS system - less than stellar service, but note the scope of work gets extended to include an airport and passenger jetliner (S1E25 “Taxi”)

Residential Street (initially with no bylaw enforcement or zoning) - issues eventually resolved between neighbours (S1E47 “Neighbours”)

I was impressed by the attention to detail with the light rail simulation. 😉

BINGO AND BANDIT COMBO the reason why i chose S1E35 zoo because even though bluey made bandit as a stinky baboon and act rude bingo still see him as her beloved father no matter how much bluey annoyed bandit bingo always there to make him smile even hug the stinky and rudest monkey, bandit even played alone as monkey as long as bingo happy, even thought her mother doesn't like the monkey but she want see the monkey again (10/10) also monkey scratch but but

BLUEY AND CHILLI COMBO i notice that chilli had less appearance in S1 AND S2 but bluey always closes to her and i glad that i notice that, because S3 we can see more appearance with chilli and the reason why i choice S3E20 driving because in this episode we can see how close and grow this combo, bluey even said the same word that chilli said. this episode just sadness first action second adorably in the end just what an episode there pee in the certeint but this episode had purpose to exist (10/10) also wzzzzt wzzzt

I can’t believe Don’t Forget Your Head actually features Dixon as the main character of the episode (and it’s actually fun hearing Dixon taunting Headless Ted (the headless zombie from s1e47 Grampy Vampy) and him actually save the day, also I like how Dr F has a small spotlight in the ep but not Six as opposed to some of the s2 eps where the latter appeared but not her mum/creator)

animaniacs - s1e47: when mice ruled the earth

episode summary: brain steals hg wells’ time machine, because he remembered how fun it was to steal the minivan. and also to go back in time to 100,000 BC to give mice the evolutionary advantage over humans so that he can come back to a mouse-dominated world.

and also because he’s acting out in mindless rebellion to deal with his many traumas, and he knows that stealing the time machine would piss Herbert George off.

the rundown:

we open at hg wells’ house.

you can tell it’s hg wells’ house because rule britannia is playing and it has his name on the door. all houses do this. when i come home from uni i can tell which flat is mine because it has BOXY in big letters on the door. despite this, i continue to get mail for everyone else in the building.

still, never mind my mail problems, right? hg wells has just finished his book. well done, herbert! what a lad.

“the time machine, by hg wells. too bad it’s just science fiction, and not science fact.”

and then he gets up and takes the.... tarp off his... time machine? that he has? this feels like it needs more frames but i promise you it just cuts from that to this without anything in between.

having uncovered his time machine for no reason, herbert puts his coat on and leaves.

“perhaps there are some things man cannot meddle with,” he muses, as he does, unable to hear the disembodied spirit of orson welles reply in fashion.

“perhaps man cannot, my dear mr wells, but mouse can.”

oh, never mind, it’s only brain. what are we up to today, bee? wouldn’t have anything to do with that funny time machine over there, would it?

spoiler: it does.

“come, pinky. time to put my plan into action.”

“just a sec, brain! i feel like i’m finally getting somewhere!”

(boxy note: those wheels are actually kind of bad for rodents. if you keep little sniffly friends, maybe invest in a saucer wheel instead.)

undeterred, brain explains that he can make the time machine work, by “utilising the invisible forces of nature”. hm. vague, so pinky asks him to elaborate, as anyone would, and brain pulls out a paperclip.

“with this!”

he wasn’t carrying it. it just sort of. appeared. pinky decides not to question this.

“it’s not exactly invisible, is it. i can see it quite plainly.”

apparently the paperclip is supposed to “act as an antenna, grabbing neutrinos from the cosmos, and providing ignition for this craft.” who knew. with that resolved, brain shoves the paperclip into the key bit.

mf just hotwired a time machine. your man could never.

“astonishing, brain. does it also roast marshmallows?”

“actually, it might.”

but first! brain wants to travel back to the primordial era to “alter the course of evolution, and then return to the present to a world dominated not by humans, but by mice!”

“and they will pick me as their leader!”

“why would they pick you.”

“because i’m very likable.”

with that settled, off go the boys to the Funny Era.

so pretty much as soon as they get there, they find cavemouse, which brain points out to pinky as “our prehistoric ancestor.” they just sort of sit there and watch as this mouse scampers around and tries to jump for the grapes. poor mouse.

can mice eat grapes, actually?

huh. probably not a bad shout then. still, it rubs brain the wrong way, and he gives pinky some bouncy shoes and tells him to teach the mice how to “leap up and grab the best food.” despite the fact that mice without cool shoes cannot bounce that high, as proven by that little guy up there, pinky gives it a go.

he tried, and therefore nobody can criticise him.

unfortunately he sets off a bit of a chain reaction.

hm.

now everyone is using mice as tiny catapults. definitely not the future brain wanted. good thing they’ve got a time machine, huh?

but first brain has to stop off at the invention of aspirin.

so anyway their second attempt is to teach mice how to use weapons.

i didn’t mean to stop on this frame but it’s good so i’ll keep it. brain is summoning spirits or something, i guess.

pinky gives them an informercial demonstration.

“and the tops are removable for easy cleaning!” narf.

yknow, i think they get it.

“some mice have more evolving to do than others. come, see how technology prevails!”

hm.

so the boys decide to take one last trip, to 50,000bc, which brain describes as The Next Key Moment In Mouse Evolution. 

“then, we will return to a time when--”

“oh, can i say it this time brain?”

“oh, alright.”

WHEN MICE RULED THE EARTH OOO TITLE DROP.

brain’s final idea is convincing mice to understand fire, working off the logic that if they discover it before humans do, they will “rise above mankind.”

“look and learn, primitive neolithic rodents,” he cries “look and learn at one of the primal forces of nature!”

but aww, he banged it wrong and hurt his thumb. “that would be pain,” suggests pinky, unhelpfully, before deciding it would be better if he took over.

he has slightly more success.

until brain realises his tail is on fire.

not great. so he runs to the nearest convenient pond to cool down,

which is also not a great idea.

OK SO HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART. as pinky rushes to brain’s aid, as good as he is at finding trouble, he gives the neolithic mouse the pieces of slate and says “narf, now you try.”

and they do.

“narf. poit.”

but we won’t worry about the consequences of that, for now. pinky is busy yelling at a wooly mammoth.

“zounds. i guess i saved you, brain.”

“unfortunately, pinky, that wooly mammoth was the only thing keeping the sabre tooth tiger at bay.”

probably for the best they go back to the ship, huh.

conclusion:

i genuinely thought this was going to be one of those episodes where something bad happens to the time machine and they end up stuck in the BCs for the rest of forever. luckily, that is not the case! and the boys make it back to 1895 in peace.

mostly. “egad brain! we’re giant mice!”

“we’re not giants, pinky! we’re the same! it’s just the world that’s changed!”

and how it has, eh? brain opens the window to take a look.

okay, so i do feel that this may technically be a pinky’s fault episode, but i kind of feel bad for saying that. it’s not his fault he has tourettes. still, it’s not like it’s anyone else’s fault, so in it goes.

Shirt Club S1E47

Steven works on his conflict resolution skills. And practices his sniper-assassin aim.

We see Steven working on a flyer for Greg’s guitar lessons, apparently, the car wash isn’t quite making ends meet. He finishes with a red marker and runs downstairs yelling for the Gems. Somehow they’ve been on the couch trying to assemble stools. He shows them the flyer, explaining that Greg made him PR manager and they give him somewhat nonsensical notes. Steven leaves to go post the flyers around town. At the Big Donut, Steven is talking with Sadie about the guitar lessons when Buck Dewey walks in. Lars acts a fool, trying to be cool for Buck, even agreeing to make him a salad. Sadie runs after Lars, reminding him they don’t even sell vegetables. Steven tapes one of his flyers to Buck’s shirt, giving the older teen the idea to make the flyer into shirts. Buck and Steven go to the abandoned warehouse where Mayor Dewey is organizing campaign materials. The mayor shows them his “state-of-the-art” equipment and Buck tells him they’re making art, not trying to help his political career. Steven stumbles upon some kid-drawn flyers Buck drew years ago that say “Vote for my Dad”. Mayor Dewey remembers them fondly but Buck pushes him out so he and Steven can make their tee shirts. After a quick montage, they have a stack of shirts that Steven wants to hand out. Buck wants to make a statement. They end up shooting the shirts at people with a tee cannon and going for pizza afterward.

Steven is excited that everyone likes the shirts and will want guitar lessons. Buck tells him its bigger than that and points out Jenny, who walks in wearing a guitar dad shirt and going on about how funny it is despite falling out of the sky. Steven goes to visit Greg at the car wash, only to find that a lot of people are coming by but no one is asking for lessons. Steven is upset by this but Greg seems less phased by it. Steven heads back to the warehouse to find Buck making more guitar dad shirts. Steven tells him the shirts aren’t working and Buck tells him the point wasn’t to generate interest in lessons. Buck says it’s funny how Steven actually loves his Dad and that the flyer art is actually bad. 

Buck leaves to go attend a bench ceremony by his dad and Steven is panicked about the misuse of his art. He runs to the gems to ask for their help and after determining that the shirts are not sentient, incendiary, or nihilistic, refuse to help Steven with the problem. They encourage him to use communication and conflict resolution skills to handle his issue. Garnet gives him some pretty sound advise and Steven hears none of this and instead makes a diabolical plan.  The episode cuts to the Bench warming ceremony where Dewey is absolutely flubbing his speech. Steven appears on a nearby roof with a tee shirt cannon, aiming and shooting directly at Mayor Dewey. His bodyguards leap away from the action leaving the mayor to be hit. The crowd panics and scatters while Steven fires off several more shirts. Mayor Dewey picks up a shirt and sees that it’s printed with the flyer Buck had drawn. Others in the crowd start to pick the shirts up as well and comparing them to the guitar dad shirts. Buck sheds a tear

 Later Steven is hanging out with Greg when Buck walks up and apologizes for making fun of Steven. They’re cool and Greg asks if Buck is there to take a picture. Instead, Buck asks for lessons from Guitar Dad, revealing that he’s wearing one of the shirts. 

There isn’t much gem related about this episode, other than Pearl and Amethyst being terrible at Ikea furniture. Although Buck taking lessons now points toward Sadie Killer and the Suspects.
