this was so heartening to see. you only wish more men's teams followed the danish men's example. (i believe a few years ago the usmnt also signed on to equal pay along with the uswnt for their federation too!)
sadly in spain, we have the opposite occurring. with the men's team often actively undermining the progress that the women's team has made. 🙄
carvajal basically defended rubiales and said he was probably going through a tough time like jenni, didn't back jenni at all, and gave a very mealy-mouthed response when called out on it.
he's an asshole and a misogynist. and just this past week, essentially doubled down on his prior words and said that "he didn't say anything wrong and opened the prism to more people. when you listen to someone who doesn't think like you, when you see that something is not black and white, it makes you reflect." i'm sorry but sexual assault and rfef corruption is not a 'let's listen to both sides and reach a compromise' situation. wtf! 🥴
normally, i would agree but lamine is just next level. his development is happening before our eyes in playing the euro and he is one of the best ones out there right now doing more tactically interesting work than men twice his age. i just think he is such a generational talent, and it would be a shame not to have him play in this euro. the olympics is just not the same for the men, and i think lamine is learning a lot in playing at this high level because that's what is going to happen when he comes back to barça. conversely, i do think pau cubarsí will benefit a lot from going to the olympics and having that experience. it also lights the fire under him to get better to make the senior team first selection for the world cup 2026.
he's the absolute worst. time for him to leave the club. i just saw this news and hope he leaves! 👋
