What if R&R Jasper met S&G Jasper!?

She was in a field.  Of grass.  Short grass that had been munched down to the nubs by grass eating animals.  SG Jasper stood tall in her plaid shirt and jeans with her hands on her hips and her loose, sandy hair being blown about by the wind.  The burly woman exhaled through her shortened nose and blinked once.  Sounds of thumping hooves came from behind her.  She turned around just in time to see a rider on a horse throw a lasso around her and continue galloping on.  Amber eyes went wide as she was thrown forward by the rope becoming taught.  One grasped at the rope as she was dragged behind the horse to keep her torso and face from being rubbed into the dirt.  SG Jasper pulled out her military knife she always had on and quickly cut the rope.  The rider continued on for a few yards, but turned around once they noticed they had lost their captive.  By then SG Jasper was more than ready as she stood low on her feet, knife in one hand with the rope in the other.  The rider with a thick sandy braid charged again.  SG Jasper moved out of the way just enough and wrapped the rope around one of the horses legs causing it to trip and fall down.

R&R Jasper jumped off her horse and turned just as SG Jasper was lunging at her with a long knife.  They rolled a couple of time in the grass each fighting for position, but it was no competition as SG Jasper trapped R&R Jasper underneath her easily.  The knife was pressed to the other’s throat and angry amber eyes stared into each other.

SG Jasper: “Why they hell did you drag me with your horse!”

R&R Jasper: “What the hell are you doing on the Dewlish fields intruder!”

SG Jasper: “I don’t know how the hell I got here! One moment I’m out taking a walk in a nearby forest and the next I’m in this damn field!”

R&R Jasper: “Bullshit!  The closest woods are five miles away! You would have noticed walking into a field!”

SG Jasper: “Then why didn’t you notice me before now!”

R&R Jasper had no retort for that.  They continued to stare at each other.

SG Jasper: “We look a lot alike, is your name Jasper by chance?”

R&R Jasper: “Yes…Jasper Turner.”

SG Jasper: “Jasper Green.  I’m willing to take this knife away from your throat if you promise not to attack me again.”

R&R Jasper: “Deal.”

The marine got off the ranch hand and the two stood up, still keeping a wary distance from each other.  SG Jasper pulled out her phone and frowned upon noticing that she had no service.

SG Jasper: “You get any service out here?” she lifted up her phone.

R&R Jasper: “What is that?”

SG Jasper: “A phone…”

R&R Jasper: “What’s a phone.”

SG Jasper smacked her face with her hand.  SG Garnet had told her stories of some of the other Garnet’s she had run into.  One of which was a duchess from the 1800′s.  If the parallel dimension was doing funky things again that meant she was probably in the 1800′s with her counterpart.

SG Jasper: “Is this England?”

R&R Jasper puffed up her chest: “Sure is!”

SG Jasper: “Great…”

R&R Jasper was offended by the marine’s less than positive expression.  “You one of those rebellious Americans?”

SG Jasper grinned, “Yup.”

R&R Jasper: “Great…”

They looked each other up and down again.

R&R Jasper: “How’d you get here then?”

SG Jasper: “I no idea.”

R&R Jasper: “Great now I have to deal with you until we figure out how to get you home…”

SG Jasper laughed.  “Maybe in the mean time I can teach you how to really fight!”

R&R Jasper groaned.

Second Wave of Artists

Farr Festival 2017, has announced their second wave artists to join their line up. First up is Nao, one of the freshest and most gifted artists in R&B was also nominated for Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards 2017. Anticipation builds for Nao’s debut performance, and for her to take control of Farr Festival’s live stages with her unique strand of funky, high-gloss vocals.

Through a unique live set, Leeds-based outfit Submotion Orchestra will bring their diverse mashup of electronic bass, entrancing vox elements, ambient, jazz and dub tropes along for a truly fantastic performance. In addition to this, PMR Records affiliate SG Lewis will share his emotive and nocturnally-flecked soul to the live stage.

Next in line is Panorama Bar resident Tama Sumo who will join the festival for her second appearance, who is sure to heat up the woods with her brightly-hued, funky, feel-good selections. In addition, acclaimed French selector Ivan Smagghe and Disco Halal head honcho Moscoman are also both set to unleash some heavy damage under the canopy of Bygrave Woods.

New to Farr Festival: the Ambient Stage

Farr Festival will also unveil their new Ambient Stage this year, curated and hosted by London-based electronic music magazine Inverted Audio. “Campfire Headphase” will see the finest of otherworldly musicians come through to deliver some deeply-immersive late night moments. Expect live sets from Huerco S. and Giegling mainstay Leafar Legov alongside Russian experimentalist Machine Woman, Glasgow’s Sad City and French enigmatic figure Basses Terres. German duo Wolf Müller & Cass, will also share the bill for what promises to be a string of unforgettable communions.

Set to take over the decks, Inverted Audio’s in-house vinyl slinger Antepop will spin wax alongside Smallville’s Jacques Bon​, Italian DJ John Swing, Berlin breakbeat wizard Rising Sun, L.I.E.S. very own Terekke and Firecracker label head Lindsay Todd aka House Of Traps.

Shining light on dancehall, reggae, R&B and dubwise rhythms we welcome Becca D, Jordan Rakei, Bonzai, Shanty and General Levy to Farr, plus throbbing bass from Glasgow-based sound-system Mungo’s Hifi.

Brilliant Corners will also debut at Farr in a yurt fitted out with their audiophile Klipsch sound-system, and a team of their DJs that will present all genre of timeless, soulful music. Selectors include Cedric Woo, Belle Bette, Brian Not Brian, Danny Bushes, Jonny Rock, Chuggy, Donna Leake, Ece Duzgit, Deborah Ipekel, Pol Vals, Scott Pelloux, Piers Harrison, Kay Suzuki, and Amit & Aneesh.

(Slightly continued from when SG Garnet meets R&R Sardonyx and is now wandering around in the archduchess’s manor)

SG Garnet slowly walked through the halls, head turning this way and that trying to absorb every stunning detail of the decor.  From the artwork, to the architecture, to the interior design, is was extravagant and breathtaking.  She could spend hours just admiring everything.  However, when her stomach grumbled yet again, she needed to find the kitchen before too long and see if she could get something to eat.  As SG Garnet turned into the next hallway, booted feet stopped.  Covered eyes widened as they landed on the pale, thin woman washing one of the windows.  Other than the attire the woman was wearing and her color of hair being a slightly different shade, she looked almost exactly like her girlfriend SG Pearl.  SG Garnet walked towards her and stopped when the other noticed and faced her.  Light blue eyes looked her up and down, confusion shone in her irises.

SG Garnet: “My name is Garnet, what is yours?” she stuck out her hand.

R&R Pearl: “Pearl,” she formally curtsied.

For some reason SG Garnet found it completely adorable, and odd to see a Pearl being so proper.  SG Garnet coughed.

SG Garnet: “So you work here for Lady Sardonyx?”

R&R Pearl: “I do, I am one of her servants.”

SG Garnet nodded, wracking her brain for what other things she could try talking about.

R&R Pearl: “Those are some odd trousers you have, never seen any like it.  Your shirt either.”

SG Garnet: “Well I ummm, I think I’m from a different time period than you.  This type of clothing is pretty common where I come from.”

R&R Pearl continued to stare at her.  SG Garnet caught the light blue eyes wandering to her forearms.  She discretely flexed them.  A dusting of red appeared on the pale woman’s face.

R&R Pearl: “Well it was nice to meet you Miss Garnet, I need to get back to my job now.”

SG Garnet didn’t want to end the conversation just yet.  “Do you by chance know where the kitchen is?  I pretty hungry and would like to eat something.”

R&R Pearl: “Oh, I do, I can take you there if you’d like.”

SG Garnet: “I’d love it if you did,” she gave the woman a charming smile.

More red seeped onto cheeks as she motioned for the officer to follow her.  It wasn’t hard to catch R&R Pearl sneaking glances at her.  SG Garnet had to try her best not to grin about it, especially since she could stare at the woman all she wanted and not get caught because of her sunglasses.

R&R Pearl: “Bismuth should be able to take care of you, I’ll introduce you to her,” she began as she opened the door to the kitchen.  Narrow shoulders fell when no Bismuth could be found.  “She was just here.”

SG Garnet: “No worries, just point me to some tools and food and I can cook up something really quick.”

R&R Pearl: “Well um, there is some leftover bread there and I know where some cheese and cured sausage is.”

SG Garnet: “That will work fantastically, thank you!” she agreed as she grabbed an apple and began to munch on it.  “I’ll slice up this tasty looking bread.  Want me to cut some for you?”

R&R Pearl should have said no, that she needed to get to work, but instead the words to cut her two slices tumbled out.  The attractive woman who reminded her of R&R Garnet smiled and nodded, promising to have everything ready by the time she came back with the cheese and sausage.  Red faced and thoroughly flustered, R&R Pearl swiftly walked to the meat cooler and grabbed the items.  By the time she got back not only had SG Garnet set out plates, cups of water, and the bread, but also had sliced up another apple for R&R Pearl to have.  The cheese and sausage were then neatly sliced and stacked onto the bread.  They ate together, casually talking while enjoying the simple meal.  R&R Pearl learned that SG Garnet was a police officer and was from a time period nearly 200 years in the future.  R&R Pearl took great interest in the various items on her utility belt.  From the Swiss arm knife to the, fancy gun, to the odd weapon in her hand.

SG Garnet: “It’s a Taser.  You pull the trigger and these prongs shoot out and electrocute the person.”

R&R Pearl: “Electrocute?”

SG Garnet: “Yeah, like getting hit by lightening, but not nearly as powerful.  It’s a non lethal option, but has a short range.”

R&R Pearl hummed as she examined it even further.  Her fingers itched to pull the trigger and see what happens, but decided against it.  The Taser was put away.  SG Garnet collected their empty plates and began to wash them.  R&R Pearl watched with awe, this woman was certainly strange, it was her job to prepare food and take care of the dishes.

SG Garnet stretched and growled before letting out a satisfied smile.  “Thank you Pearl, I was pretty hungry.  Sorry for pulling you away from your work, but it was nice to meet you.” The officer held out her hand once again for a shake.

R&R Pearl took the offered hand, but instead her brought it to her lips and pressed a soft kiss on the knuckles.

R&R Pearl: “It was my pleasure to meet you and assist you, Miss Garnet.”

SG Garnet’s heart skipped inside her chest.

SG Pearl walked into the house she shared with SG Garnet cracking her neck as she made her way to the kitchen for a glass of water.  It was past the time SG Garnet usually got home each day, but she hadn’t seen or heard her in the house.  Casually she poked her head into the master bedroom seeing if she was there.  In the dark light, she could make out the tall figure sleeping on the bed.  A smirk played on her lips as she sneaked into the room and silently crept up to the figure.  SG Pearl furrowed her eyebrows when she noticed Garnet’s attire.  A full ballgown from the 1800′s that looked incredibly authentic.  She didn’t know Garnet had this, but she wasn’t complaining, Garnet looked stunning in it.  SG Pearl sat down on the side of the bed and tenderly brushed a stray dreadlock to the side of her girlfriend’s face.  She wasn’t entirely sure why Garnet had gotten all dressed up.  A low chuckle burst from her lips.  Garnet looked like a sleeping beauty that was put under a spell.

“Perhaps a kiss to break the spell and wake her up.”

SG Pearl leaned close, letting her breath brush over the woman’s ear.  “Wake up beautiful, I’m home.”  She pressed a feather light kiss on her cheek, then moved to the other ear.  “Wake up my sweet Garnet.” The sentence was punctuated with another brush of her lips on the woman’s face.

Brown eyes fluttered open and started right into blue ones.  SG Pearl smiled and pressed a kiss to Garnet’s lips.  It was a surprisingly short kiss as Garnet didn’t respond at all.  SG Pearl pulled back and stared at her girlfriend with confusion.  Wide brown eyes stared at her, the woman unusually tense.  SG Pearl narrowed her eyes.  Two brown eyes.  “Are you ok Garnet?” she asked.

R&R Garnet: “P-Pearl?!  Is that you?”

SG Pearl was deeply troubled, she quickly looked over the woman who was sleeping in their bed.  Similar body structure, but without any of the muscular definition she knew SG Garnet had.  Hair was done up in dreadlocks, and most importantly, the presence of two brown eyes instead of the half blind one.  SG Pearl pulled away even more.  The woman looked like her Garnet, but wasn’t at all.

R&R Garnet laid there on the bed stiff as a board, unsure of what to do.  First of all, she had no idea where she was.  The last thing she remembered was being overwhelmed at her change of scenery and time line.  From there everything was blank.  She did remember the nice, and if she dared to admit, stunning woman who must have been the one to take her in.  Now she was facing another woman who looked a lot like Pearl, but was dressed and spoke very differently.  To add to that her face was burning, she had just been kissed!  By a woman no less!  In hindsight she didn’t mind, but it was a bit shocking.

SG Pearl backed away, her face heating up at her actions towards what looked like to be a guest of theirs.  “I....I thought you were my girlfriend, Garnet, sorry about that...rude awakening.  I’m Pearl.”

R&R Garnet’s mind was all over the place.  Girlfriend?!  The woman’s name was also Pearl?!  R&R Garnet swallowed and composed herself after a few seconds.  “I am Lady Garnet,” she said as she sat up.

SG Pearl: “Lady Garnet?”

R&R Garnet: “Yes.  I am the Duchess of Osmington in England.”

SG Pearl: “Shit...like for reals you’re not fucking with me?”

R&R Garnet pulled back at such crass words.  “Such unladylike language!”

SG Pearl raised an eyebrow.  “I am no lady.”

R&R Garnet: “Then what shall I call you?”

SG Pearl: “Pearl works fine.”

R&R Garnet: “Alright then Pearl works fine, would you please tell me where I am?”

SG Pearl paused, she wasn’t sure if that wording was intentional or not.  “You’re in my, or more technically, Garnet’s house.  In our bed.  I thought you were her, so I tried waking you up like I would do to her.”

R&R Garnet: “Garnet is the woman who looks like me, wears trousers, and has the beautiful thick curly hair?”

SG Pearl: “Yeah, that’s her.”

R&R Garnet: “And you both live here,” she swallowed, “and share this bed?”

SG Pearl: “Yup.”

R&R Garnet: “Why do you share a bed?”

SG Pearl didn’t really anticipate that question.  Her mouth ran before her mind could catch up.  “To fuck each other senseless on a regular basis.”

R&R Garnet didn’t know if she should be scandalized or intrigued.  There was no hiding, it was plain in the open.  Two women living together, sharing a bed, and more.  She wanted to learn more about this relationship between two women.  “Tell me Pearl works fine, how does one,” she braced herself to prepare for saying the crude word. “fuck each other senseless?”

SG Pearl: “Well um...” Pearl coughed as her eyes inadvertently looked over R&R Garnet once again.  The woman was every bit as beautiful as SG Garnet, but had a much softer and regal look to her.  A blush dusted her cheeks.  “Normally I like to start with some teasing words, to set the tone, let her know I’m interested and want to have sex with her.”

“Like what?”  R&R Garnet pressed as she leaned forward.  While SG Pearl wasn’t much like the Pearl she knew, there was a definite appeal of her rougher attitude.

SG Pearl: “Like, hey there beautiful, you’re looking awfully lonely tonight, care for some company?”

R&R Garnet: “I wouldn’t mind your company,” came the lower tone.  “We could have some tea if you’d like.”

SG Pearl’s heart hammered in her chest at the drop of R&R Garnet’s voice, it was similar to SG Garnet’s, but not exactly.  “I’d like the tea, do you have any sugar?”

R&R Garnet: “I don’t have any sugar,” she frowned.

SG Pearl sighed.  “Not like the actual thing, but,” she breathed out and internally debated her action and potential consequences.

“Oh fuck it.”

SG Pearl leaned forward and placed a kiss on R&R Garnet’s lips.  “That kind of sugar.  A little bit of sweetness,” she explained.

The light turned on for R&R Garnet.  It definitely was sweet.  “I think you need a little more sugar for that, the tea is quite bitter.”  R&R Garnet grasped SG Pearl’s face and pulled her in for a lingering kiss.

SG Pearl’s mouth hung open after they parted.  “You look awfully hot in your clothing, perhaps I could help you remove some of it?”  The words slipped past her filter once again.  Lady Garnet was turning out to be someone she would have a hard time resisting.

R&R Garnet scooted even closer to her.  “I would appreciate your help to do so.”

SG Pearl was about to reach towards R&R Garnet when a new voice joined them.

“What is going on here?”

SG Pearl whirled around to see her Garnet standing in the doorway.

“Garnet!” SG Pearl jumped to her feet.

“Garnet!” R&R Garnet smiled as she recognized the attractive woman that had been so kind to her earlier.

SG Garnet’s expression was hard to read, but she didn’t look mad at least.  SG Pearl crookedly smiled.  “Oh just getting acquainted.”

R&R Sardonyx meeting SG Garnet! ✨please?

SG Garnet sighed as she dangled upside down from the tree, her feet comically stuck between two branches that had grown close together.  Fortunately, her thick work boots were protecting her for the most part.  Another sigh drifted past her lips before she curled up to get a better look at how to get out of the tree.  Hands gripped the thicker areas of a branch and she carefully wiggled one foot free.  Arms strained to hold her weight while the second foot was freed.  With a less than graceful thump, SG Garnet dropped to the grassy, yet firm ground ten feet or so below.  Slowly she stood back up, looking around at the orchard she was in trying to figure out how on Earth she ended up where she was.  The sound of horse hooves drew her attention to the figure riding up to her.  On the saddle was a tall woman with honey blonde curls and copper skin dressed in similar attire to Lady Garnet SG Garnet had met a few weeks ago.  The main difference was this woman’s dress was all black.  Hazelnut eyes looked directly at her, assessing her.

R&R Sardonyx: “What business do you have in my orchards?  I know not who you are.”

SG Garnet sighed: “Ma’am I have no idea how I got here.  One moment I’m patrolling the streets of Beach City, the next I’m hanging upside down in this tree.” she motioned to the one towering over her.

R&R Sardonyx: “A likely tale.  What is your name?”

SG Garnet: “Garnet Hall, ma’am.”

One well maintained eyebrow was raised as an ever so slight smile curled in the corner of R&R Sardonyx’s lips.

R&R Sardonyx: “I see the resemblance, though my friend and you have a number of differences, mostly in build and hairstyle.  If I lead you to my estate, will you be an honorable guest or shall I have my guard escort you away?”

SG Garnet raised up her hands.  “I promise not to be of any trouble to you.  I just want to know where I am and how I can get back to my home.”

R&R Sardonyx: “You are in Dorchester, England, at my estate.  I am Sardonyx Lennox, Archduchess of Dorchester.”

SG Garnet rubbed her forehead groaning slightly.  “…what year is it?”

R&R Sardonyx: “1807.”

SG Garnet sighed.  “So I traveled back in time too,” she muttered as she recalled the date R&R Garnet had mentioned. “Do you know a Lady Garnet?  Of Osmington?”

R&R Sardonyx turned to look at her from where she sat on her horse.  “I do.  She is a dear friend of mine.  Are you acquainted with her?”

SG Garnet scratched the back of her neck.  “Yeah we ran into each other in my world and time line.  I let her stay at my place until she just randomly disappeared.”

R&R Sardonyx.  “Well then, any friend of hers is a friend of mine.  Follow me, I will take you back to the manor.”

SG Garnet: “Thanks.”

R&R Sardonyx encouraged her horse onward at a slow pace.  SG Garnet walked along with her.  They exchanged small talk as they made their way to the Dorchester manor.

SG Garnet warily patrolled the streets, the past few weeks had been rough.  Finally recovered from her concussion and other injuries from the incident that happened but didn’t happen.  No memories had come back.  Eyebrows furrowed behind the new set of thankfully bulletproof sunglasses.

“Is there a festival or something going on?”

Pacing around on the street ignoring, or simply not aware of the traffic rules, was a breathtaking woman.  Shoulder length dreadlocks pulled back into a bun, rich dark skin, delicate but angular features, head held high, and wearing a fancy pink and blue dress that had to come right from the Victorian era.  SG Garnet did not fail to notice the uncanny similiar appearance the two of them shared.

“If her name happens to be Garnet I’m going straight home and restarting my day.”‘

SG Garnet: “Ma’am?” she cautiously approached the woman standing in the thankfully empty street.  “Can I help you?”

R&R Garnet stands tall and levels the oddly dressed figure with an intense gaze.  “Lady Osmington will do.”

SG Garnet sucks in a quick breath.  “Her eyes look just like mine used to.”

SG Garnet: “Alright…Lady Osmington…” she comes closer and begins to usher her out of the street, but thinks better of it.  “You look a little lost, can I help you?”

R&R Garnet: “Indeed, this is a strange place.  Metal carriages moving without horses, people holding small glowing squares,” eyes looked SG Garnet over really quick, “a woman wearing trousers.  I’ve seen several other women wearing them too.”

SG Garnet cleared her throat.  “Well wearing…trousers…even for women is considered normal here.”

R&R Garnet: “Really?!” a slight hint of intrigue could be detected in her tone.  “Please explain.”

SG Garnet: “I would gladly, but if you wouldn’t mind, Lady Osmington, may I escort you out of the street?”  SG Garnet offered her elbow, she had seen this type of courtesy done on those 1800s romance movies.

R&R Garnet: “Why?  Is there something wrong with standing here?”

SG Garnet: “Well the horseless, metal carriages are permitted to move in this area and they so do at high speeds, it is dangerous to stand in this area.  But the raised sections on the side, called sidewalks, are open for people to walk on.  May I escort you, My Lady, to the sidewalk?”

R&R Garnet contemplates her words for a moment.  “You may, ma’am,” she said as she slipped her hand into the crook of SG Garnet’s extended elbow.

SG Garnet’s heart skipped a beat at the contact.  Slowly she guided the beautiful woman to the sidewalk.

R&R Garnet turned and faced her, expectant. 

SG Garnet: “Women wearing trousers has been considered normal for the past forty almost fifty years.  Fashion has changed over time.”

R&R Garnet’s eyes were filled with confusion.  “What year is it?”

SG Garnet: “2017.”

R&R Garnet breaths in quickly as her eyes go wide.  “2017?!?”

SG Garnet: “Yup.”

R&R Garnet braces her hands on the side of her face.  “The last year I remember was 1807?!  How?!  How is this even possible?!”

SG Garnet was now confused.  “The last year you remember was 1807?”

R&R Garnet frantically nodded.  “Yes!”

SG Garnet: “But that’s 210 years ago…where are you from?”

R&R Garnet: “I am Lady Garnet Collingwood, the Duchess of Osmington.”

SG Garnet: “What country?”

“Wait, Garnet?  Are you kidding me…”

R&R Garnet: “England of course!  Where am I now?”

SG Garnet: “You are in Beach City, in the United States of America.”

R&R Garnet reeled.  “The States…210 years…” she teetered on her feet.  “Pearl…Sardonyx…they’re all…” it was too much the shock of everything.  R&R Garnet passed out.

SG Garnet rushed forward as she collapsed, catching her in time to prevent injury.  SG Garnet breathed out a sigh of relief.  With a huff she picked up Lady Garnet and began to carry her bridal style.

“My place is closer than the police station, I’ll just take her there.”

Slowly SG Garnet made her way to her house.

SG Garnet: “I’ve been running into them over the past few weeks, I thought it would be helpful if you two met them as well.”  She looked at away from her mothers up to the three Garnets standing at the meeting place.  “It took a while for me to get them all here, I honestly don’t know how the tallest one got here…Just prepare yourselves, it’s a little odd a first to see someone who looks like me.

SG Ruby and Sapphire followed her gaze and saw R&R Garnet, C Garnet, and PoP Garnet standing nearby each other.  R&R Garnet and C Garnet were engaged in a light conversation while PoP Garnet was just silently observing them.

SG Garnet: “Hey!  All of you.  Lady Garnet,” she respectfully bowed to R&R Garnet, “Garnet,” she nodded to C Garnet, “and Garnet,” she cautiously addressed PoP Garnet.  “Meet my mothers, Ruby and Sapphire.  I wasn’t sure if you all shared the same mothers as me, but since we all had our similarities I figured that it wouldn’t hurt.”

R&R Garnet rushed forward only to stop a couple of feet away as her eyes examined the two older women.  She began to speak in Swahili, however when Ruby and Sapphire only looked at her in confusion she stopped.

SG Ruby: “You have our daughter’s beautiful eyes,” she directed to R&R Garnet.  “I am Ruby, and while I may not be your mother, I am honored to meet you,” she extended her hand out for a greeting.

R&R Garnet took it and gently shook it.  A small smile formed on her lips.  “Your hands do feel like my mother Ruby’s.  She lives in my homeland, Tanzania, I have not seen her or my mother Sapphire since I was 12.”

SG Ruby: “From one Ruby to another, I know she would want to give you a big hug,” she held her arms out wide.

R&R Garnet quickly accepted the offered hug.  They held onto each other tightly.  R&R Garnet’s frame began to shake as tears streamed down her face.  SG Ruby rubbed circles into her back as salty lines of water also decorated her cheeks.

C Garnet breathed out heavily as she looked at SG Sapphire.  C Garnet fell to her knees.  “It’s like…it’s like I get to see them again…” A hand quickly wiped away the tear that was running down her cheek.  Another rapidly replaced it.  “It’s been so long.” she sobbed.  “They’ve been gone forever…I never thought…I never thought I’d get the chance….the chance to see you again.  But you’re not my mother…but you look so much like her.”

SG Sapphire quickly ran to the teenager and held her tightly.  “Your loss is truly terrible.  I’m so sorry.”

C Garnet cried loudly into SG Sapphire’s shoulder, strong arms holding the older woman as close as possible.  SG Sapphire gently hummed one of SG Garnet’s favorite bedtime songs into C Garnet’s ear.

After several minutes SG Ruby and Sapphire exchanged a glance and a short conversation was made so R&R Garnet and C Garnet could have the opportunity to talk to the other.  More tears flowed, but this time smiles could be seen.

C Garnet: “This has to be one of the best moments of my life ever.”

R&R Garnet nodded.

SG Garnet turned to look at PoP Garnet who had yet to say anything or make any sudden movements.  However, PoP Garnet was incredibly tense, her hands were curled into fists, every muscle in her body flexed, lips pressed into a tight frown/grimace.

SG Sapphire and Ruby let C Garnet and R&R Garnet go and began to walk over to her.

SG Ruby: “I’ve got a big hug for you, if you want,” she offered with a smile.

PoP Garnet pulled back, slightly weirded out.  SG Sapphire continued to approach.  She reached up towards PoP Garnet’s face.  SG Garnet watched the interaction carefully, looking for any sign of PoP Garnet lashing out and possibly hurting her mothers.  SG Sapphire was only inches away from touching PoP Garnet’s face.

PoP Garnet: “STAY AWAY FROM ME!” she jumped back her loud voice filled with anguish.

SG Sapphire: “Garnet…” she softly whispered as she took a step towards the woman.

PoP Garnet: “NO!  STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!”

When SG Sapphire took one more step closer, PoP Garnet turned and ran away at an astonishing speed.  It took only minutes for her to disappear from sight. SG Sapphire dropped her hand and looked at the ground.  SG Ruby rushed over to her and embraced her.

SG Ruby: “Do you know what that was all about?” she directed to SG Garnet.

SG Garnet: “I have no idea…”

C Garnet and R&R Garnet walked over and joined in on the hug.  SG Sapphire motioned for SG Garnet to get in as well.  All five of them held each other.

SG Sapphire: “We have four daughters now.”

SG Ruby: “Including the one that ran off?”

SG Sapphire: “Especially her.”

SG Ruby nodded.  “I don’t care what mythical laws, or paperwork, or biology says, you all are our daughters for now and forever.”

C Garnet’s face lit up, grinning widely.  R&R Garnet did the same.

What about R&R Garnet & SG Steven?

R&R Garnet took another stroll through the odd town called Beach City.  She certainly enjoyed the sight of the beach and had spent some good time walking along it.  Eventually she made her way deeper into the boardwalk and came across a building that could be easily walked into.  Mixed odd sounds along with bright lights made her cringe, yet curious.  She walked into the place called “Funland Arcade” searching for what musicians and instruments could make all of those sounds.  Tall rectangles with colorful images dancing on them filled the place.  After searching around R&R Garnet couldn’t find a single musician and had deduced that all of the sounds she was hearing were coming from the various colorful, metal boxes.

“No wonder this place sounds so disjointed.  None of these themes go along with each other.”

R&R Garnet was about to leave the place when she heard a youthful voice call out.

“You look amazing!”

R&R saw the figure running towards her and tuned to face the young teenage boy.

SG Steven: “You look just like a princess!” he looked at her in her ball gown with starry eyes.

R&R Garnet smiled.  “Why thank you, for your kind words young Sir.”

SG Steven: “My name is Steven!” he extended to his hand to her.

R&R Garnet took it delicately.  “Lady Garnet.”

SG Steven’s eyes got even bigger.  “I know a Garnet!  She looks a lot like you.  So you’re like a Princess Garnet then!”

R&R Garnet laughed: “Technically I’m a duchess, but I can be Princess Garnet here if you want.”

SG Steven: “Of course my lady,” he bowed to her.  “Have you been to an arcade before?”

R&R Garnet: “What is an ‘arcade’?”

SG Steven: “It’s a place to play all sorts of games!  Here let me show you!”

He grabbed R&R Garnet’s hand and tugged her to one of the games.  Together SG Steven showed her all of the various consoles and demonstrated how to play a number of them.  He would offer to let her play, but she generally refused as it seemed so foreign and confusing.  On one particular game SG Steven took a hard mallet and hit figures as they popped up.  This game seemed doable so when he offered to let her play, R&R Garnet took up the mallet.  Shaky hands held the object tightly, brown eyes darting back and forth trying to see which one would pop up first.  A “gangster” as SG Steven called them, jumped up.  With a mighty swing, the mallet was brought down on the figure.  However, before she could prepare to swing again another had already popped up.  R&R Garnet launched for it, only to miss and hit the game with a clang.  Gangsters jumped up and down, getting faster with each second it seemed.  In moments the music had stopped and flashing numbers were displayed.

SG Steven: “You did pretty good for a first time!  You got five of them!”

R&R Garnet was no pleased with the results.  “May I try again?”

SG Steven: “Of course my Lady!” he smiled as he dropped in a few coins.

Music began anew.  R&R Garnet readied herself.  Sharp eyes spotted the first figure that dared to stand.  Fast hands promptly whacked it on the head.  R&R Garnet only played a few more times before she needed to step out of the place and relax.  All of the noise and lights were starting to make her head hurt.

SG Steven: “That last round you did really well!  23 out of 25!  Before you know if you’ll be playing on advanced!”

R&R Garnet smiled. “Why thank you Sir Steven.  You were most generous to pay for my ability to play.”

SG Steven: “Any time!  I have to go now, but it was great to meet you Princess Garnet.”

R&R Garnet: “I mirror the sentiment.  Fare thee well Sir Steven.” 

With that the young teen waved and ran off leaving R&R Garnet to explore the rest of the boardwalk on her own.  While it had been overwhelming and confusing, she certainly did enjoy hitting the figures.

R&R Garnet meeting SG garnet meeting PoP Garnet meeting Canon Garnet!!!!

(I’m adding C Garnet into the mix as well :] )

Garnet looked around the room where all of the other 4 Garnet’s had been called for a meeting.  Multiple futures played out in her future vision on how this would work out, but so far it seemed to be taking the lighter of the possible outcomes.  The tall gem had been surprised when R&R Garnet had appeared in her universe, while she was fighting a corrupted gem nonetheless, and had given her an invitation for tea.  Garnet had to quickly poof the corrupted gem so the human wouldn’t get hurt.  The nicely written and sealed letter was looked over once she returned home.  Steven was more than excited that she got invited to tea by one of her other dimensional selves and made sure she was going to go.  So she did.

The magenta gem was surprised that when she had appeared in R&R Garnet’s world that she was in R&R Sardonyx’s garden.  Five chairs were placed around a table with an umbrella providing some nice shade from the bright sun.  PoP Garnet was already sitting rigidly in a chair with her arms folded over her chest.  The gem turned at the sound of two more voices joining them.  R&R and C Garnet walked up carrying a tea tray, cucumber sandwiches, and a bowl of fruit.  Covered eyes looked out into the field to spot SG Garnet making her way down the dirt path. C Garnet helped R&R Garnet set out the small luncheon for everyone before taking the seat between R&R Garnet and PoP Garnet.  R&R Garnet sat down next to the stoic gem and smiled up at the gem

R&R Garnet: “Thank you for coming!”

Garnet nodded and returned the smile.

By that time SG Garnet had made it to the table and took the remaining open seat between Garnet and PoP Garnet with some hesitation, it was obvious how wary the officer was of the fighter.  PoP Garnet made no inclination that she cared either way.  C Garnet took initiative and offered to pour everyone’s tea, which ended up being only four cups as PoP stated there was no point in pouring any for her.  Garnet let a cup be poured for her and just had it sit in front of her.  Cucumber sandwiches were passed out to the three that were willing to have them.  PoP opted to just grab a piece of fruit saying that it wasn’t going to get her in trouble.  R&R Garnet was disappointed but didn’t let it bring down her cheerful attitude.

C Garnet: “Hey I’m sure you could try one of the sandwiches, they’re pretty simple,” she nudged PoP Garnet, “Just bread, a little butter, salt, pepper, lemon, and cucumbers.  You’ll burn it off before you even get back home.”

R&R Garnet stared at the fighter with pleading eyes.  With a huff PoP Garnet grabbed one and set in on her plate.

SG Garnet: “That’s the spirit!  Can’t have tea without cucumber sandwiches!”

PoP Garnet: “I don’t drink tea.”

SG Garnet: “Well neither does Garnet, but she’s still willing to entertain the idea,” she motioned to the untouched cup in front of the magenta gem.

The fighter took a bite out of the cucumber sandwich.

C Garnet: “After tea the officer and I can help you burn it off, I’ve been wanting to try and spar with you again!”

SG Garnet: “What!?”

C Garnet: “Why not don’t you know how to fight?”

PoP Garnet: “No she really doesn’t, you could take her easily,” the fighter smirked.

SG Garnet: “Hey!!  I’m not about to try and beat up a minor!”

PoP Garnet: “It’s not like you could anyway.”

R&R Garnet: “Please don’t hurt each other.”

Garnet: “Nothing serious will happen maybe a couple bumps or bruises, or maybe a bloodied nose.”

R&R Garnet was relieved at the gem’s statement.  The five Garnets casually talked as the rest of the cucumber sandwiches were eaten.  Slight insults were always tossed between PoP and SG Garnet, while R&R and C Garnet generally got along well with everyone at the table.  C Garnet ate the most closely followed by SG Garnet while R&R Garnet ate three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and PoP Garnet ate her one sandwich and fruit.  Garnet pressed her finger to the side of her teacup and made it heat up to the point it was steaming before cooling it down into a half sphere of frozen tea.  C Garnet noticed this and shouted out:

“Iced tea!”

Only SG Garnet laughed, PoP Garnet groaned, and R&R Garnet just stared at her in confusion.

Garnet: “It’s a method of drinking tea that is served cold instead of hot,” the gem explained to the duchess.

R&R Garnet: “Oh!”

Even though the teen was full of food, she was more than ready to spar with the fighter.  The other three Garnets watched in amusement as the younger of the two tried time and time again to land one hit, only to have it blocked or dodged.  PoP Garnet tackled the teen to the ground and they began to roll around using their jiu jitsu skills to try and submit the other.

C Garnet: “Tap!”

The fighter smirked and released the submission hold, then immediately when after another, which the teen worked to try and defend against.

C Garnet: “Tap!”

SG Garnet stood up.  “Looks like the kid could use a little back up.”

The officer took off her gear and joined in on the fight.  For the first couple of minutes it looked like SG and C Garnet could put up a fight against PoP, but that soon proved to be impossible.  Each one would have to work to try and help the other escape from PoP’s hold or submission before PoP would release them and go after the other.  Every time the fighter got a successful submission, her low voice could be heard stating “I win.”  Garnet glanced to the side at R&R Garnet.  While the duchess seemed to be amused at the other three’s play fighting, the gem could tell she was still a little nervous.

Garnet placed a hand on her shoulder. “They’re not going to hurt each other.  They are just having fun.”

C Garnet: “Tickle fight!” she exclaimed as she lunged at the fighter and tried tickle her sides or in the arm pits.

PoP Garnet: “I’m not ticklish.”

C Garnet: “But I bet the officer is,” came the grin.

SG Garnet: “Don’t you dare! Aughhhh!”

The two ganged up on the officer and it only took a few seconds for the officer to be laughing her head off and begging them to stop.  They stopped after a few more minutes.  R&R Garnet laughed as all three of the dusty and sweaty figures walked back to the table with random pieces of grass sticking on them and in their afros.  The duchess’s laughter became a little nervous as the three approached her with grins on their faces.  Garnet’s future vision only saw one potential and it made her smile and chuckle.

“Tickle fight!” SG and C Garnet cried out as all three of them attacked R&R Garnet’s sides, neck, and any other ticklish spot they could find.  Their combined laughter filled the air.  Eventually they backed off to allow the duchess a chance to breathe.

C Garnet: “This is the best,” she breathed out with a happy sigh.

Hums of agreement joined her sentiment.

SG Garnet: “Thanks for inviting us over, Princess.”

R&R Garnet: “We will have to do this again!”

Garnet stood up and pulled all of them into a giant hug.  For a moment everyone enjoyed it and then PoP Garnet extracted herself, said her good byes and disappeared.  SG and C Garnet stayed to help clean things up while Garnet had to leave as another corrupted gem had starting causing trouble in her dimension.

Ohhh! Bird blob prompt!!! BD What if the Garnets And SG Ruby and Sapphire were out on a beach walk, and they see Steven from a distance all alone playing with a baby birds blob. Then the big momma bird blood shows up behind him and isn’t happy 🎬

It was another family outing with SG Garnet, R&R Garnet, C Garnet, and SG Garnet’s mothers SG Ruby and Sapphire.  Today they had done some activities on the boardwalk and were now taking a walk along the beach.  In the distance they noticed Steven playing with what looked like several pear shaped blue blobs.  R&R Garnet’s face brightened up and ran over, curious as to what the strange little creatures were.  For some reason the small blobs with beaks took to the duchess and gathered around her, one bounding up and perching itself on her head.  Steven quickly snapped a picture of R&R Garnet and gushed about how cool the bird blobs were.  SG Garnet looked on with a smile, however it quickly fell when she noticed a massive shadow looming behind the two.

Steven and R&R Garnet turned around to see the big mother bird blob glaring at them.  The mother let out a roar and brought it’s head back in preparation to strike.  Out from behind some recycle bins, PoP Garnet jumped out and sprinted to the mother bird blob, punching it deeply in the side.  PoP Garnet’s arm was thrown back as the strike just bounced off the creature.  Distracted from it’s attack, the mother bird blob struck out at PoP Garnet, nearly catching her with it’s beak.  It struck the beach with a shower of sand and a dull thud.

SG Garnet, Ruby, Sapphire, and C Garnet raced to the scene.  SG Garnet and Sapphire arrived first.  SG Garnet stood protectively in front of R&R Garnet while SG Sapphire pulled Steven away towards safety.  C Garnet jumped to PoP Garnet’s side as PoP Garnet had just stumbled back slightly from trying to kick the mother bird blob again.  The two shared a silent glance and then began to attack it from different sides, trying to keep it’s attention away from the others who were retreating.  Angry and confused, the mother bird blob struck out with it’s claws catching C Garnet with the broadside of one and sending her flying back. PoP Garnet Quickly took up a defensive position in front of the teen.  By now most of the baby bird blobs had been coaxed away from R&R Garnet and Steven, except for one that had followed Steven.  SG Ruby stomped her foot down and growled to try and scare it away.  Tiny beady eyes blinked as small arms waved about.  A roar came from the mother bird blob sensing it’s young were in danger.  She swiftly tucked into a ball and rolled over, beak coming down to crush SG Ruby and Steven in one blow.  SG Ruby braced herself.

“STEVEN!” another voice called out as a figure flew through the air towards them.

The tall magenta gem struck out with her gauntlets, connecting with her target and sending it hurtling into the air.  It became smaller and smaller until it disappeared with a twinkle.

“Garnet!” Steven rushed forward and hugged the gem’s leg.  “You saved us!”

Garnet adjusted her glasses.  “She won’t be bugging us for sometime, I recommend we gather the babies and stick them on a boat.  The ocean will carry them to their mother.”

All of the adults and C Garnet just stared at the crazy turn of events.

SG Sapphire: “I agree.  We can purchase a small boat and set them adrift easily.”

SG Garnet and SG Ruby went to acquire the boat while C and PoP Garnet kept watch.  The rest worked to gather all seven of the babies.  It was surprising that R&R Garnet was the best at keeping a hold on hers (since they liked her) aside from Garnet who just held onto them with her hands.  Before long the baby bird blobs were sent adrift into the ocean.

Garnet: “My work here is done.” with that the gem jumped out of the picture.

SG Garnet glanced around “I guess we could resume our walk?”

C Garnet frowned as she had noticed that PoP Garnet had also disappeared.

Steven joined in with the Garnets and SG Ruby and Sapphire as they watched the sunset over the ocean.

Somewhere in the distance a mother bird blog affectionately nuzzled her babies as she floated next to the boat.  The baby bird blobs waved their arms back in response.
