one time my mom was talking about something, I don’t remember what, and she said “have you ever known the poverty of having nothing to say?” and when I say nothing has ever punctured my heart quite like that statement

#I don’t even fully know why. also I don’t think she even meant it how I took it #but there is just some part of me that does believe that that is the greatest poverty #when there are no words in your mind or heart. no phrases—nothing to rely on or fall back on #and you just have to struggle with the human condition and be able to express none of it #and I know that not everyone uses words like I do or relies on them that way but people need some words. they need something #this is why a) I never make fun of those Instagram accounts that are all cheesy inspirational quotes or whatever because people are trying #they are REACHING #also b) that’s why villains who are wordlessly violently destructive make me cry #because it’s just like—-yeah I can understand turning to violence if I didn’t have expression #if I couldn’t get anything out #also also this is not related but I watched some movie or tv show the other day (and I cannot for the life of me remember which one it was)#but there was this couple on a date and the girl asks him to complete all these proverbs after she gives him the first half #because ‘a man who knows his proverbs can’t be all bad’ and it shook. Me. To. My. CORE.#also also!! this is why I teach! it’s the heart of it for me!! And why I make them memorize poetry. like.#and put quotes on the board every day. like. You will have words and images in your mind and your heart from my class if I have anything #to say about it #anyway sometimes my mom says things and casually devastates me #and I think (I think) she was just talking about the poverty of having no news because nothing is going on #and so you have nothing to share with someone. and she was talking about my Grandma and how sometimes she was just so sullen and quiet #but it’s just because there was nothing to say #anyway anyway anyway that is also why the one time on the phone my grandma said who has known the mind of the Lord —shook me so much #because she never really said anything. words were not her thing and she never quoted anything #and suddenly her saying this line of scripture that said more than any words I’d ever said —one of the defining moments of my life #tbh. anyway this is very long I’m sorry. I have woken up this morning crying about this. idk.

wait i forgot to tell yall the absolute highlight of my day, and probably year, and probably existence because it was genuinely the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me

#i had to act like i was not crying in class because it shook me to my core #this one professor of mine great guy probably the only reason i have not given up on the graphic design program #starts class discussing our projects for the semester #and says both projects are brand new never done before #and one of them was a music project #where we get to choose the artist and create an entire spread of everything for them #lp/ digital campaign/ website/ spotify mockups the whole fucking nine yards #and this is a man WHO DID NOT KNOW WHAT MUSIC PACKAGING WAS OR ENTAILED UNTIL #I ONE DAY WENT ON A RANT ABOUT IT IN OUR FIRST CLASS TOGETHER #and who has asked me multiple times about it since and my amateur concert photos #and i’ve given him shit for cutting a different music project in the past #and this motherfucker looked at me (i’m losing my fucking mind at this point btw like full on #everyone in the class was looking at me after the announcement)#and this motherfucker looks at me ‘you got your music project buddy don’t let me down’#and it just kinda struck me that this clown of a man A) listens to his students and proposes projects he thinks they’ll be passionate about #but B) that he listened to me and i’ve just i’ve never had that things like this are always dismissed #and this motherfucker listened and formulated a whole ass project to help me #like that’s so fucking insane to me #eris: text

I've been watching/reading Death Note every once in a while for the last couple of months and this is the funniest most unserious serious anime ever.

but my fav thing to do in the game now is see someone who is Definitely Just A Researcher and put on my yiga clan outfit before I go up and talk to them. a guy on the great plateau the other day got so mad at me because he worked SO hard to make sure his disguise was perfect and I'm out here, in his territory, in the full outfit completely out in the open, and I am blowing his cover link is gonna see me and know get LOST!!!!

fucking love fanfiction. clicked on a work simply cause it seemed fun and now it's almost 3am and i'm losing my fucking mind cause it was so much more well thought out and a hell of a lot more layered than i expected it to be. the details added by the obvious research, the writing style, the character development, the dedication to the slowburn, it ticked all my boxes and yet going solely off the summary it wasn't even something i'd usually have tried to read in the first place. how the fuck.

#lets just say hanaa is gonna have a hell of a time when she checks her dms in the morning #i managed to hold back til i got to a certain chapter (which i later found out was the second to last one) and then i just.#went completely insane. and sent her a ton of excerpts without much context.#but its also like??? what happened to the original plot of the movie yk #i went in for some fun shenanigans and instead fell slowly down this madness involving magic and manipulation and anti-aging #and i dont regret it one bit i feel changed literally how can i go to sleep after the plot twist that shook me to my core #what's even better is i opened this tab yesterday morning but only read a little through the first chapter (theyre all really long too)#cause i was preparing for the rukhsati. and then i was there. and when i came back i carried on reading but #it was on the entire work format and i had no clue how many chapters there were or the word count #so i had no idea how much more there was to read i just got more and more engrossed and it just went on and on and on #later i went back and saw it had the perfect wordcount too.... 69420 #its absolutely going in the faves #feeling a lot of emotions tonight as u can tell #wait did i seriously say anti aging i meant near perfect immortality 😭#faera's
