Top 10 Bls for 2023

So I feel like this is going to be such a long post. First of all I struggled so much choosing what was going to make the top 10 and why. I feel like my opinions are a little different from the majority. For example, I did not incude Only Friends, Moonlight Chicken, Our Sky 2 or Our Dating Sim. It was interesting how my top 5 was easy and after that I was like ahhh what do I do?! So here is what occurred. Thank you bestie @gunsatthaphan as always for making the gifs. They are GORGEOUS and add so much to my words. Without further ado,

I have been anticipating this show since it was first announced in 2022. Let me just say, I LOVE JimmySea. I love their acting and chemistry. I also love these characters Day and Mohk. Jimmy and Sea are both doing a fantastic job at portraying them. This might be my favorite show of all time and I don't know how that is, but after each episode I just love it more and more. P'Aof always does such a good job directing each scene. I love his vision especially in this series. If you know me at all you know A Tale of A Thousand Stars has been my absolute favorite show for years now. Nothing has surpassed it. I think Last Twilight might do that. I had to give it to the top for these reasons alone. It's kind of funny that JimmySea are the top spot 2 years in a row. They just do something for me.

My precious little Korean BL. I was obsessed with this show. I think I watched it 3 times. This one just proves I prefer story over nc lol. This show had so much story which I enjoyed and the mains were so cute as Ji Won Young slowly found himself falling for Yoon Tae Joon. The second couple were also pretty fun and added to the show. This is why it is number 2. Go watch it if you enjoy story with a happy ending. I could probably watch this one 5 more times. The way it was acted was also fun it really kept me invested. So much character development. Okay I will stop now.

Did we think this would be this high on the list? I don't know. What I do know is watching this week to week was so fun and I still listen to a majority of the songs on spotify. This was high school, but also was so fun. Tinn was such a simp for Gun. FourthGemini did very well. As we can tell by the gif I ended up loving WinnySatang as SoundWin in this. They were just adorable! The umbrella scene, the singing scene, the scooter scene. They had so many. Also the fact this show did a music video for one of my favorite Thai songs was just...gah! I need to rewatch this one soon. I miss it.

Ah! my precious show that I waited forever and a decade to air. When the first trailer came out I was like YES. I am one of the few that have no qualms with Krist and then when it switched from Mike to Gawin I was like HUH?! It ended up working somehow. GawinKrist did very well and had pretty damn good chemistry. This story was so fun. The time traveling and the different stories. I loved watching Kawi become himself. Piasang never waivered and that was adorable. Aye as Pear was also so nice to see. All of the characters in this show were done so well. It had to get the number 4 spot. Unable was one of my most played song this fall most likely lol I love Gawin's voice.

I was surprised by how much I loved this show. It was so cute and done so well. It was one of the best surprises of the summer. There was so much story and characterization. It had such a good plot. I just loved them the whole way through. I don't usually like friends to lovers it depends how it is done and this was done perfectly. Love my little Bo Ram and Han Tae. Go watch this if you haven't. Cuties being cute.

ForceBook always take me over. I don't know why, but I just love them. GunCher were so cute and adorable and healthy. I throroughly enjoyed this show. They had to be in my top 10. Also we can't forget how adorable and sweet the second couple were. Koala hugs for the win okay?

PondPhuwin as Palm and Nungdiao. What a great show. I loved every second of this. All of the drama and excitement. All of the references to the Chinese story. I just really liked this one and I love PondPhuwin. Also the little snippet we got of PerthChimon. This was a good show. I don't care what the majority of you say. The ending scene with needing a charger is the cutest thing ever.

I don't know what it is about this show. I don't know why I love HiraKiyoyi so much. They are so strange and yet these two actors just captivate the characters and I can't stop watching. This scene is so funny because we have never seen Kiyoyi really get jealous of Hira. That is why my dumbass couple who can't communicate if their lives depended on it are in the number 8 spot.

I honestly have no idea if anyone else enjoyed this one as much as I did, but I really loved them. They were so cute. I am a sucker for we met before and cuteness. Lee Jun and Ha Ram were just cute. Ha Ram softened Lee Jun from his previous relationship. Also their chemistry was pretty dang good.

I really struggled in placing this in my top 10 for a multitude of reasons. The main one being the second couple took over the show and we got a rushed ending for the mains. That kind of irked me a lot. I just had to include it though because of one man BAI ZONG YI. He was the CUTEST character to ever exist. He never ever waivered. Him and Piaseng should compare notes LOL Anyway my babies are rounding out the tenth spot. I didn't dislike Ai Di and Chen Yi, but I was upset by how they took over. Both couples had chemistry chemistrying 🧪 which was nice.

So with this list I had to exclude a lot of shows that I did enjoy. I am going to list them here.

It pained me not to include Our Skyy 2 because I loved all of the couples but some of the episodes were just so cringe lol or bad. My precious PhuphaTian getting their happy ending was probably one of the best things though. That scene still brings me to 😭 . The episodes of Our Skyy 2 that were good were Never Let Me Go, A Boss and a Babe, 1000 Stars and it pains me to say this, but the Bad Buddy one was not that bad because it included 1000 Stars. Also Vice Versa's was weird, but it was enjoyable.

Minato Shouji Coin Laundry 2 didn't make the cut and that hurt so much because I think Minato and Shin are a comfort couple for me and they were adorable this season. It was just the plot. I don't want to spoil this if you haven't seen it, but yeah. I still love them though so they are getting mentioned.😍

Love Tractor was such a cute show and the character of Ye Chan was just so puppy coded and adorable. 🐶

Moonlight Chicken was a show I was so difficult about. I don't know why, but I did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to so it was not included. EarthMix still have my heart 🧡 and FourthGemini stole the show.

Only Friends was a show that everyone was waiting all year for. I think they did a very good job, It was entertaining and Mew is probably my favorite character of the year aside from Mohk of course lol I just couldn't include it in my top. I'm sorry :(

I am actually surprised that there were so many Korean shows on the list this year. They really showed up. If you read the whole thing. Thank you. This took me hours to think about and put together.

- My School President End Notes -

So, I've finally finished watching My School President, after a ton of push from my friends, and here I am! It was a wonderfully sweet, adorable and innocent high school BL show, which stole my heart and made me emotional in too many ways.

In this review, I'll address a few of the best things that I enjoyed the most regarding MSP. So, stay tuned for what's coming ahead!

1. Musicality of the Show

I've never seen a BL show with so many amazing Osts, and musicality stuffed inside it. When I started out with the first episode, I was freaking hooked to the intro, like it was so good. Then the other songs which were introduced later in the show, or which then band has sung, over all I adore and cherish each and every song and composition the show has brought it. There were happy songs, romantic ones, and even realistic ones.

But the best part was how they've had also introduced the funky dancing numbers as well. As a huge music lover, I enjoyed every bit of soaking into the dance and music of the show. The actors did an immaculate job at portraying marvelous skills through their singing and dancing skills, and I just simply loved it all. Music has to be the major theme of the show, over all - because it certainly caught my entire attention just from this aspect.

2. Messages on Following your Dreams

Another strong message that I've felt through out the show was how they've consistently emphasised on the beauty, yearning and struggles of following what one truly loves. What makes the concept more appealing that they've successfully portrayed the realistic harsh side that drags you down from moving ahead. I was utterly heartbroken when Chinzilla didn't win the Hot Wave awards, because personally I've been a massive fan of their music. But once, that part portrayed how life is not always fair, and you'd always have someone who is better than you in every competition in your life, and that part hit hard.

When Gun auditioned for another music show recommended by Tinn, he was disappointed again because he wasn't the best one out there, which is always relatable. Even if we do our best, it is guaranteed that world will treat us kindly. But what matters the most is keep going, polishing your skills and passion, and doing it for the love of it - that is one thing that will fruitfullly keep you motivated on your journey. The constant feeling of giving up, the repetitive defeat of the band members felt too emotional for me, because I could feel it on such a deep level - that was a freaking realistic truth from such an innocently adorable high school BL show.

3. Innocence in Love

My School President has become the quintessence of the first childhood love. The most delicate and sweetest kind of love that blooms between two kids for the first time in their life and the portrayal of this wonderful thing has been successfully executed in the entire show. The confession scene of TinnGun was literally my favourite out of all confesion scenes, maybe because the quick and realistic approach of it. The way Tinn just hinted it out casually when Gun asked, and how even Gun somehow understood exactly what he meant.

The whole interaction was subtle and yet so deep, which actually happens in real life. That's what attracted me the most. I loved how TinnGun represented the purest form of love, without physical vulgarity or lust - it was simply two people wholeheartedly in love. Love is unconditional, love is about seeing the other person happy, and TinnGun have manifested this kind of love effortlessly through their charismatic performance, and I absolutely cherish it.

4. SoundWin

C'mon, I had to mention them because they flourished a new kind of interest in me throughout the show. For me, they were the most appealing part of the show - I was always looking out for more of their chemistry and interactions. I think SoundWin had the best kind of love story development I've seen so far - realistically speaking. When these two first were introduced to one another, has anyone of us thought they're gonna be a thing? Well, not for me. They two had the most casual and realistic romantic development that I absolutely loved.

Their love wasn't based on first sight or physical attraction, but as they proceeded on getting to know one another, getting to share personal stories with one another, they fell. Honestly, their chemistry is extremely sizzling, prove me wrong. Like their bandmates say, even when they bicker, chemistry is overflowing and I totally agree with that. It was so satisfying to see how Win silently cares for Sound when he had wrist pain, or how Sound constantly looks out for Win especially he's feeling broken, especially after the Hot Wave. I just am being fan of cute bickering couples, so automatically SoundWin just effortlessly pulled me in.

5. Packed with Supportive Characters

The show has the perfect combination of the best supporting characters ever, whether it is about the positive parenthood from the parents of TinnGun, or about the genuine friendship that is emphasised among the band teammates. I've immensely enjoyed how genuine, well-wishing people are around this entire show. It depicts how there are actually kind people around who are willing to have your backs and always end you whenever you're feeling down. My favourite supportive characters has to be Tiw, and TinnGun's parents. Tiw has been the best boy throughout the series, with innate helpfulness along with multitasking to help out others - Tiw is a marvelous character.

He has always got Tinn's back - it doesn't matter if he has to be a MV director, tutor, promoter or even a dancing coach, he is ready for all of it, if it helps his friends. On the other hand, the parents of the show displayed the ideal parenthood that must be looked up to. The fact that despite being of different mindsets, both TinnGun's parents had the welfare and happiness of their children in their minds all the time. They never forced their children, but tried to understand them and encourage them who they are and what they love. I hope more parents start achieving this standard, because this united efforts makes the world a much better place.

My School President is a charming cute BL show, that has stole my heart with it's wonderful characters, shared passion for dreams and most importantly the positivity that it portrayed. It surely has be the most green-flag BL I've ever watched. From the healthy handling of conflicts to the sweet pure interactions between two high-schoolers - this BL is another unique addition to chain of the most beautiful BL shows ever made.

With every EP of MSP it makes me love the series even more it's become one of my favorite bls and TinnGun are adorable dumb dumbs in love but I wanted to know more about your thoughts on SoundWin that scene after the medal kiss Sounds face I can't get over it do you think he fell first and is already in love with Win cause this look and the look he gave while giving him a hug makes me think he's fallen for him

I think Sound has fallen but he's fallen in a very different way than Tinn did and I love him for it.

Because Sound fell from seeing Win's weakness rather than his kindness and he doesn't quite know how to love that way and you can see it in his body language and his face.

He wants to show off to Win. He wants to impress him and be better than him and he wants to prove it until Win stops aggravating him but that isn't how life or romance works.

But I also want to point out how Win looks at Sound after the medal kiss.

That is such a look of someone realizing something about himself, realizing something that he doesn't know what to do with because how does he feel? How does Sound feel?

These two are in much deeper trouble than Tinn and Gun because they haven't even moved to friendship despite their growing tenderness towards each other and that's hard.

This isn't Tinn and Gun where Tinn has been in love forever and he just needed Gun to realize that they were on the same side.

These two have been fighting this entire time and they have yet to stop and yet they're both starting to care but how do you take that first step? How do you go from calling each other stupid to something kinder?

MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT – REPRESENTATION MATTERS

Maybe it's just my own wishful thinking, and maybe it's too early to tell for sure (though I don't think so), but remembering what Producer Aof, Director Au and the rest of the team did with Bad Buddy – it looks like the MSP team is giving a positive shout-out to the spectrum, even while anchoring the series firmly within the BL genre.

We have–

TinnGun – gay

SoundWin – gay, though Win may be bi/pan

TiwPor – likely gay

YoNook – straight

And Ep.7 suggests Pat may be straight/bi/pan but he comes across as more ace or arrow (to me at least).

And FINALLY the lesbians get a mention! 😍

I'm just hoping they give us a trans character somewhere too – oh WAIT a goshdang hot Bangkok minute, they already did! 😍

The role of the producer at GMM Music in Ep.5 was played by actor and host Golf Kittipat Chalaragse, who openly identifies as a transgender woman.

It's important to note that she is treated by the boys with utmost respect in her one scene, and also that she broke disappointing news to Gun (not being shortlisted for signing despite his obvious talent) with kindness and empathy.

This quietly positive portrayal of a trans character in a position of influence is important for all the trans kids out there who might be watching this. (And yes, I'm aware that Golf's character in the show is not specifically identified as trans, but given her fame in Thailand I think most Thai viewers would see her as such.)

Bearing in mind that My School President is a lightly-crafted Thai-style High School Musical taking place in a QL universe, I believe that it is still carrying the sense of mission previous (more strident) Thai QL dramas have been sounding – The Eclipse, Not Me, and even Bad Buddy come to mind.

As with most other QL series, no one is treated as being less than anybody else based on gender or sexuality. So the boys take their Ep.6 music video – about the awkwardness of being in love while in the friendzone – happily into BL territory, free from any fear of societal judgement.

Previous dramas that did this (to the best of my memory) had an older target demographic, but this one is sending out a message of hope and normalization to a younger audience that it's OK if your sexuality or gender isn't society's perceived norm.

And to those who fit within the perceived norm as well, there is also the messaging that the trials and tribulations of your queer friends, family and compatriots have a lot in common with the dramas of your cishet lives too – so maybe it's time to stop othering anybody for being a little bit (or even a lot) different. (This is ultimately the message behind the switch from straight couples to BL ones in the Ep.6 music video, and also the BL switch in Bad Buddy's Kwan-Riam musical.)

It's not the first time a BL has been sending out messages geared to bolster queer self-esteem and normalization, but it's the first high school one in recent memory that seems to be radiating positivity all around, and hopefully its message will land with the younger set.

Heartstopper may already have done this, and its finished product is perhaps a bit more realistically grounded and polished, but that show was restricted to a smaller, paying and arguably older audience on Netflix.

I cannot begin to emphasize how important it is that My School President and its messages of positive self-worth are beamed free-of-charge to LGBTQ+ teens all over the world, including places where it might not even be safe to be openly LGBTQ+.

My School President may be going all out to entertain (and it does), but beneath the froth and fluff it's still doing something. With the team behind it I wouldn't have expected anything less. And I'm so glad they're at it still. 💖 👍

How dare this installment make me think Tinn's mom was a sick when she was just asleep!

Giving SoundWin and TiwsonPor some of Tinn and Gun's moments is genius, like Sound not wanting this kiss to be in act with the red and blues, and Por disclosing he is already dating Tiw.

Tinn and Gun running around looking for each other is top-tier romance.

The moms stay doing the heavy lifting in this show. Which is why the dad, who never had a name, is MIA in this installment.

Why did I not think there would singing during the Aof tribute?! It's a music video, so of course there would be singing.

I feel this is GMMTV's way of thanking Aof for keeping the lights on and the fridge stacked these past years because this man is giving this company its life!

I don't need these dolls, but gosh darn it do I want them!

My School President should get a sequel called My Doctor Boyfriend, and they should meet Tan and Bun of Manner of Death (WHERE IS TRANSPLANT?!).

I have no idea what was happening with the colors, which bothers me (and there was singing in a show about singing), but the salute to some of Aof's greatest hits with Tinn and Gun being Med and Thun were an excellent choice. Because of that, I'm going to give this installment the score Vice Versa's could've had before it decided to LIE!

9/10 CockTails for being a solid offering that delivered the same story but with a few twists.

Because A Boss & A Babe just ended last week, getting an Our Skyy feature immediately after feels like it didn't end, and we are simply getting another episode, so I'll be watching (and judging) this in its normal Friday slot before I watch Be My Favorite, that way I'll be too tipsy to care how either of them turn out.

This morning. For like literally two seconds because I was reallyyy tired and didn’t want to wake up early lol. (Last time I cried for more than two seconds was two days ago.)

I have 99 of them!!

I am… not a sports person. I lose games of tag to first graders. I did however do horseback riding for a while as a kid, which I was actually quite good at! Sometimes I miss it, though I have no idea if I’d still be any good after so long.

Sometimes, though it’s not my main mode of humor.

Mmm… maybe a combination of their outfits and of their personal aspect/vibe. (Do they seem friendly etc.)

I have brown orbs that stare inquisitively into your soul until you let out the breath you didn’t know you were holding.

I guess I liked algebra a lot? Then when I got to college I liked a lot of subjects! Like my wildlife toxicology class and my video game design class and my feature writing class… there was a lot of fun stuff.

How am I supposed to know this asfgjkl. I am exploring the idea of teaching, though. We’ll see, I’m still figuring life out honestly, and I feel like there’s no Perfect job. But what I’m doing know makes me really happy which is why I’m considering that general arena.

Ep. 10 spans exactly one month

(And I don’t know how to feel about it + time inconsistencies)

The Episode starts on Tuesday the 25th of October

And HotWave takes place on Friday the 25th of November

Here’s some lil research i did at the beginning:

“The first semester is typically from the beginning of May until the first week of October. Students take the end-of-semester exams and have a 2-3 week break; then, students return for the second semester at the beginning of November.”

Gun set the deadline for making the song on the 29th of October.

Tinn said the school would start in 2 days.

So the term starts at the beginning of November. Makes sense and works out.

BUT the timeline in between the start of the semester and HotWave is a bit messed up, but I don’t expect a tv show to be particular about this.

1st day of school:

That was the day Gun showed the new song to everyone and where Gun’s mom went to the hospital with Tinn.

Next day aka 2nd day of school:

Por, Phat, and Yo go to Tiw to stamp the Flyers. TinnGun have lunch at the music room.

The day this scene takes place is also already the very week of the HotWave final.

They talk about ‘this friday’ so many times and I also listened to what they were saying in Thai and yes it is indeed ‘this’ friday.

HOWEVER they could mean ‘this next friday’ because damn this episode is conflicting with it’s timeline.

Tinn said that he knew about Gun’s mom for more than a week?!

Chinzilla only has ‘4 more days’ until HotWave when they were talking about T-Shirts

Damn that’s what happens when I rewatch an episode just so I can be accurate in my silly little SoundWin fanfic. I just wanted to know how long the break was and how mich time there was before HotWave.

Tagged by @colourme-feral to name 9 favorite TV series -- I chose 9 Asian dramas that I love so dearly, listed by the order of time I watched them. The names of the shows -- with a little personal story for each; feel free to skip :) -- are under these posters.

I've been watching Asian dramas for an almost good two decades now, mainly because I feel that they're closer to me contextually and that they offer comfort exactly how I needed them. It all started with my love for Japanese dramas, and then expanded to Korean dramas, and finally my latest fixation, Thai dramas. (I find it a bit weird that I've just discovered the 'magic' of Thai dramas given the country is so much closer -- regionally and culturally -- to mine compared to the other two.)

Anyways. It was always hard for me to choose from these dramas to make, like, top 10 or top-any-number kind of favorite or best list. Because I got to admit, that when I decided to see everything from the good lights, almost each show holds a special value and viewing experience on its own, a reflection to my own inner space at the time I watched it. Eventually my list is going to be a fluid little note, but one thing about a favorite drama to me is that the show needs to have at least a bit of slice-of-life vibe to it (as you might see above with the exception of Healer).

So, here it is. My favorite nine (Asian) TV series, in a chronological order of watching, selected mostly by the sheer number of rewatch I did with the shows. (I tried to be fair, so three dramas for each country.)

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (2007) -- This show used to be my number one favorite show for a very long period of time.

Sunao ni Narenakute (2010) -- This one is so very personal to me. That's it.

Love Shuffle (2009) -- I LOVE this drama more than I expected to. Surprisingly good and just 'realistic'.

Healer (2014) -- My very first K-drama obsession. I watched each episode thrice; once the raw version and twice with the subtitle (oh those good old days when you didn't get the subtitle at the same time the episode was released). I followed the discussions board on Soompi, I read all the meta about the show here and there, and had a very VERY hard time moving on to a new show after it finished airing. Seo Jeong Hoo was my all-time favorite male lead.

Hospital Playlist S1 & S2 (2020 & 2021) -- The first season of this show came during the early days of pandemic and needless to say it was a comfort-shaped best friend I had in my isolation. Everything about this show is a perfection.

Run On (2020) -- This one came during the peak of my dissertation writing period in a place literally half-around-the-globe-far away from home. It gave me the spirit that I exactly needed to finish everything and call it what a time. This show will always have a special place for me -- if you're familiar with the characters, you'll know why.

A Tale of Thousand Stars (2021) -- Watching this after I finished everything with my (formal) studies gave me such a whiplash. In a good way. There's a reason why Tian Sopasitsakun is so dear to me on a spiritual level.

The Eclipse (2022) -- Needless to say no more about this show. My current obsession number 1a in a form of #weeklygiffingakkayan.

My School President (2022) -- My current absolute favorite and obsession number 1b, tied with Hospital Playlist in terms of the level of comfort and the uncountable rewatch numbers. Rewatching this show with subtitle in my mother language was such a delightful spiritual experience that transported me back to my own high-school days that none of other shows gave me. I guess this show will stay with me for a long long time. I have yet to navigate a way out of my love for SoundWin, I haven't even started my #tinngunedit era. So, yeah. Please bear with me for this one.

MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT – MORE RANDOM THOUGHTS

Coming into My School President after Bad Buddy, it's impossible not to see the winks and nods that MSP does to its illustrious predecessor.

Thing is, after six episodes, I keep waiting for something heavy to drop – but it never does. BBS kept up the heavy hitting, punch after punch, from Ep.5 onwards. You don't get that with MSP (although a tiny seed of dread still throbs whenever I think about Mrs. Gim's health; stay strong, lady, for yourself and for your beloved Gun too).

I carry this ever-present sense of anticipation partly because the Bad Buddy team burst onto the scene with a mission. And because of their commitment, BBS's finished product is so many things all at once – a BL romcom yes, but also a critique of patriarchal traditions, an LGBTQ+ allegory, a message of hope for the disenfranchised, a hard lesson on parenting... you can take away so many things from it.

I keep expecting MSP to do more of the same, and have to slap my wrist a little because that's totally unfair.

MSP is of its own generation, and we have no right to heap expectations on it (did I learn nothing from Ming and Dissaya vis-à-vis PatPran? 🙁)

Right now I'm leaning into the idea that MSP is doing (and getting to do) what BBS couldn't, simply because Bad Buddy's hands were full with all it had taken upon itself to do. Almost like they conceived the two at the same time, but then said OK, we'll divvy up the work and get BBS to deal out the heavier stuff and then with MSP we'll just have fun.

So perhaps wrapped into all of this is the idea that (because of all they were loading onto Bad Buddy) there was the risk that BBS might have flopped. (Thank goodness it didn't; Director Aof really did put together a dream team.) But if it had, then there would be MSP to be the B-side version with a second shot at success. (I'm just guessing, but this is how it feels to me. And I don't think that B-side means inferior, by the way.)

This would explain why My School President has so much of a Bad Buddy feel, but with the angst dialed down and more of an afternoon teen party vibe thrumming, closer to marketing ideals and the version that would satisfy the money guys.

So if anything, MSP has thus far been very focused in this respect, presenting romance/love in various forms and exploring them with a light touch – there is TinnGun's hesitant, exploratory push-and-pull that rings true of teenage first love, but also enemies-to-lovers (SoundWin), spousal love (Tinn's parents), parental love (Mrs. Gim), and maybe secret love (TiwPor? They're hinting, and I live in hope for this.). No GL to be seen but I suppose they left that to BBS because it was risky for its time. And because the risk paid off with InkPa's popularity, we can now have standalone GL series too. 💖

But at the moment I'm thinking that MSP's mission is simply to be a light-hearted, entertaining BL romcom, where telling the story of how romance develops between the leads is its main preoccupation. And that is perfectly fine. 😊

Maybe things will change in the next half – and that's perfectly fine too. 😊

There is room at the table for the meaty roast rich green curry as much as the angel food pandan chiffon cake. And I can enjoy both with equal relish. 👍

Favourite character: gun (i want to put him in my pocket and protect him from the world)

Funniest character: tinn (gemini is such a good comedic actor and tinn's unhinged gay little fantasies were hilarious)

Best-looking character: por (casually slaying at all times in every universe)

3 favourite ships: tinngun, soundwin, tiwporphat (i will die clutching this ot3 in my cold lifeless fingers!!)

Least favourite character: yak (get a job, leave them alone!!)

Least favourite ship: yo + nook (can't believe he catfished her... we moved on from that too fast lmao)

Reason why I watch it: instant shot of serotonin to my brain

Why I started watching it: i saw screencaps of the debate scene in episode 1 where gun is like, "don't get it twisted, we nearly burned the school down with a bbq pork griller 3 times" and was like, yep, i need to watch this immediately

THE ECLIPSE

Favourite character: akk (the most repressed, self-loathing babygirl of all time; his journey makes me so emotional)

Funniest character: namo (never forgetting the "but then people will know-" / "you're bl actors! it's thailand's soft power :D" exchange)

Best-looking character: teacher sani (please, i want to be her girlfriend so bad)

3 favourite ships: kanthua, akkayan, namo + having a relationship that lasts longer than three days lmaooo

Least favourite character: chadok (the chadokdika reveal did not redeem him, i'm afraid)

Least favourite ship: teacher sani + wat (i personally never felt like the show was trying to set them up romantically and am glad our skyy 2 put those allegations to bed)

Reason why I watch it: great sociopolitical commentary, acting, and chemistry among the cast

Why I started watching it: it intrigued me because of its political themes; actually the second bl i ever watched (the first being bad buddy) and the one that ultimately pulled me down the bl rabbit hole
