"you must try this my dear mortal!" he says with an innocent grin, unaware of the disaster he may bring upon her taste buds. "the other mortals called this a 'marshmallow"... it tastes quite interesting!"

          FAR BE IT FOR HER TO JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, but when Sharena casts eyes upon her god's singed and sticky marshmallow creation, she finds it a difficult rule to follow. She swears she can still see smoke rising from its burnt surface, swirling into the Midsommar night in silver wisps. She swallows— she doesn't want to hurt him. Certainly not during an eve as joyous as this. She must navigate this carefully.

         "Oh! For me, Lord Askr?" she squeaks, taking the snack, "That's… that's so kind of you! I'm honored you thought to share it with me."

         Sharena takes a deep breath. Thanking him was the easy part— truly, she is always grateful to receive any sort of kindness from Askr, especially knowing how much she and the rest of her kingdom owed to him— but consuming his gift without gagging seemed nigh impossible.

         It would be wrong of her not to try, though, and perhaps more hurtful to avoid it. And so, having braced herself for its bitter impact, Sharena takes a large bite off of the marshmallow. It crunches uncomfortably beneath her teeth, and the molten pieces stick strangely around her mouth, but the more she chews, the more she realizes that…

         "...mm-wow! This isn't bad at all!" Sharena exclaims, before scandalously putting a hand over her marshmallow-marred mouth. Gods! Had she completely forgotten what she meant to do? She adds hastily, "I-I mean! Not to say that I EXPECTED it would be bad… I'm just surprised at the flavor! You have a great sense for these things, Lord Askr."

askr chrom is way more fussy and prone to panicking because he hasn't gone through like seven or so months of "character development"—which basically consists of everyone from his pregnant wife to the man who may as well be his real dad for how much unconditional affection he's given him and his sister to like gaius and even tharja giving him pep talks about how he's going to be a great dad.

and then lucina's born and he turns out to be a great dad like everyone knew he was going to be and he doesn't accidentally crush her with his monstrous strength

because for regular chrom, that sort of increases the bar of how low he can truly go because his first thought upon seeing his daughter is "she's perfect" and his second thought is "i love her" and then once that wave of affection washes away, his thought is "i want to make the future a better place for her."

so like he's already more family oriented than his dad lmao. and like his wife points out, if he ever hurts lucina's feelings, then he can just apologize and listen like he does with her. he's allowed to meet his daughter without the tragedy of the future hanging over his head

and also because his wife's not going through a crisis in askr like she is in the regular timeline so his attention is just on the kids, that's also a reason why askr chrom is so panicked

like, askr chrom is just introduced to his baby girl with no prior introduction, unlike what regular chrom goes through. he's not even married, and that in and of itself is like a shock to his system. he hasn't even lost emm yet—he's just told his future wife about how terrible his father is and that kind of frames his actions because it's so fresh in his mind

and he doesn't ever want to let his kids down, but his kids have already suffered so much. and he doesn't get his pep talks in, except maybe with frederick and robin, because the kids are already so attached to him that no one offers him unsolicited advice on how to be a good dad because they already think he's a good dad

because of this, he's slightly more sensitive to perceived rejection, as opposed to it being robin in the other two timelines, because in the bad future one, she grew up knowing she was grima's heart and in the regular one, she found out who her father was and started having an inkling of what was going on

but in askr, robin is mostly chill, because chrom's not, so she has to be, but they do take turns. because chrom doesn't want to be his father, ever. he'd rather be the really fussy dad who cares about the little details aka freddy than be like his father

he's also specifically afraid of morgan rejecting him, because the boy already doesn't remember him, and fell morgan exists and allegedly hates his guts, despite chrom doing all he can to support him. morgan, of course, adores him, and eventually, he gets over that fear, but it sticks with him for a while

(regular chrom also kind of shares that fear, up until he interacts with morgan like five times and he's like, oh, i was worried for nothing)

3. What is something they really like about themselves and what is something you really like about them?

It thrills Leigh that throughout the events of Book 6 (Askr versus Embla) and just in time for the events of Book 8 (Askr and Embla beginning to rekindle peace between the two kingdoms), they manage to convince the Order of Heroes that their choice to wear the colours of Embla as Askr’s Summoner (which starts after Book 5, as their original cloak kinda got shredded in the kidnapping) is not a sign of any ill will they hold toward the kingdom or an intention that they plan to abandon their post. This becomes especially difficult with the introduction of the Curse Directive (Embla’s version of the Order), Leigh losing their blessing from Askr (the rumour floats around that the god rescinded the power he granted them because they were no longer committed to their role), and the obvious sympathy Leigh partially feels for Embla near the end of the book. It takes a lot of convincing (especially when it comes to the royals Leigh are you trying to mirror something here no cough no), some pep talks from heroes who honestly couldn’t give a damn, and a tense confrontation between them, Ash, and Elm, which results in Ash restoring their blessing, but eventually, they make it work, and they’re proud of that.

I really like how they get to spend every day surrounded by handsome old men LOL live the dream, self insert me. Show that grief-stricken-revenge-seeking old man that someone wants to give him the love and care he deserves!!

12. What is their safe place? And what does “safe place” mean to them?

One place is tucked against Gunter’s side where they like to curl up together on the red loveseat in their private quarters that Leigh stole from Askr’s Day of Devotion themed furniture when the Order of Heroes brought it out of storage last year. If anyone else tried to sit on it they’d be visibly agitated (that’s why they keep “normal” furniture around).

But also Leigh is very fond of nooks and finds certain window nooks around the castle very cozy, so much so that they are often caught napping there, or gazing out the window, daydreaming. A “safe place” to Leigh means somewhere they can be left undisturbed and/or recharge on their own time from the various stresses that come with being the Summoner.

14. Quickly, let them give us some life advice!

It is better for love to be unrequited than suppressed, to let your feelings be known over the possibility of what could be linger forever in your mind.

15. Now you give them some life advice.

It does not make us weak to cry over the unknown—it makes us brave, for allowing those we love to choose their own fate, even if that path is rife with pain.

ahr results sure are something! why f!edelgard is on there despite the existence of 2 million counters is beyond me, and her presence cost embla a spot - who is, you know, actually good. i also hope s! edelgard doesn't make it to the banner bc people keep saying she's an amazing unit but she is honestly not that hard to counter and she doesn't fit my play style either, plus she doesn't have good fodder so i have no real use for her. and the way they put fomortiis and arcane grima against each other for the gauntlet like 💀 couldn't you have put the two edelgards up against each other instead of the two baddest bitches in the top 8. come on

SHOW AND TELL FT A COW GOD AND A GREEN CHILD - & askr

PROMPT ( grants reason or faith +1 ) ;     Reason and Faith band together to put on this month’s special seminar: the history of tasseomancy! You will be learning the “magic” behind divination and how the old masters used the remains of tea leaves and coffee grounds to predict future events. Just in time for the moon of love, you will all be divining your romantic futures from a delicious cup of white rose tea.

TASSEOMANCY WAS A PRACTICE midori knew little in, though she could clearly remember the name within conversation among some friends in her deeprealm.  it had been a practice that the older girls whispered and giggled at after lessons were over.  midori always took it as a practice she would familiarize herself in once she grew to their age.  it only hit her now, as she entered the spacious classroom, that she was the exact age as the older girls; and that it was the older girls that did not reach a higher age.  they spoke mostly of romance; the boys they would see outside the realm and the marriage proposals they would receive upon the war’s end.

of course, as a sixteen-year-old, midori cared little for romantic affairs.  the most she experienced was a shy first kiss with a friend—  that of whom she crushed on before losing interest shortly after—  and her mother encouraging her emotions towards any of her male friends.  uh, and female friends?  well, her mother was a force even her father couldn’t shake off, especially when father was so adamant in her love life being idle.

midori sighed and glanced around the room, being careful to not stand directly in the way of anyone passing by.  there were multiple tables open, mainly since the seminar had just opened, but the ideal table depended on the tablemate.  hazel eyes widened in surprise and she was quick to follow her line of sight; amused by the size difference between her and the counselor she followed after.

“   mister askr!   ”   midori called out, waving a hand at his side to catch his attention.   “   do you have a partner for this seminar?  if not, would you mind being mine?   ”   askr was a man of many words.  midori learned that after a single session in his office, when she was curious on the implementation of meditation classes for stressed students and staff.  she liked him!  he didn’t remind her of father but that was fine; no one could kaze better than kaze himself, after all.  still, askr was kind and open-minded— the latter being a trait that could benefit the seminar practice.

midori pointed to an empty white table,   “   we can sit there, if you’d like.  i think they said that the first trail would exclude instructors, so we can start whenever we’re ready.   ”   thankfully, there were a few scrolls on the table that were probably for instruction.  or maybe they were surveys that the participants were to fill out afterward.

About Brave Alfonse!

People I am so happy about Brave Alfonse!! He is everything I hoped and dreamed of and even more. Not only the art is gorgeous but the chosen attire is the best they could have gone with.  And his voice!

But what what is even more important to me is what it means for his mental health. Alfonse has finally healed his father and that makes me so happy for him. They even gave us the material to see for ourselves  not only in his lines but in the forging bonds. Especially the one with Lif, because Lif being who he is has yet to come to terms with that problem. Well he does have a lot more issues than Alfonse and no one to help him with them.  I am so glad as someone who still have this problem to solve and not much support to see that my boy had the support and help he needed. I wanted to make this post after I saw all of his lines first and separate my own feelings and traumas to canalize his growth.

  Alfonse has spent years healing his father and has come a long way. I remember when Gustav was introduced how Alfonse would nit call his parents “father” or “mother”. The respect he had for them was not familial but that one that comes from the relationship any noble would have towards their leaders. At least it looked that way to me. Alfonse felt cold in his respect but admired their work with the kingdom. After all Gustav and Henriette are great leaders and Askr is prosperous because of their continuos work. It all changed when Gustav gave his life to save Alfonse. Although one could argue that Gustav did this because he himself was sick and about to die any way. You have to see the evidence as well. Gustav was a sentimentally constipated man and a workaholic too, but it does not mean he did not love his children. He did of course, in fact he loves them so much he gave his life for Alfonse. Gustav could have gone on as king not caring if his son died and just chosen Sharena who is a more obedient child as heir.  

  Gustav did give Alfonse a hard time but remember that Gustav and Henriette are not normal parents to begin with and they live in a place and time where royalty and nobles did not even take care of the children themselves. This is important because Alfonse and Sharena have lived in a circle of nobles that find it normal to not interact with their children. Sadly the children living this way may not form a familial bond with their parents but at least the trauma of seeing other children with their parents as a norm will not let them think that their parents do not love only  them. What I mean is that our trauma of hearing other kids talking about how they interact with their parents and our parents no doing the same ( the norm) for us or with us is not going to affect them the same.

Alfonse is also a rebel and it grated on the relationship he had with his father which was already weak. Alfonse tell us himself he does not behave like a prince should and that he went against some people’s wishes to get into the Order. I am pretty sure those were his parent.  

 In later forging bonds where parents and children happen to cross we can see a change. Gustav’s death could have made Alfonse fall because of gilt but it helped him understand his father. Perhaps not in a “ He loved me so much” way but in a “ Now I understand why he  did not want me to be in danger” and a “ Now that I am next to rule I understand my responsibility towards the line.” This leads him to see the responsibility his parents have and the sacrifices they have had to do to serve the people of Askr. Alfonse interact more with Henriette and starts calling her “Mother” and while talking about Gustav he starts calling him “father” instead of “the King”.

In his forging bonds with Anna we see that he has been training with the axe not only as a weapon to use in memory of his father but as he said, it is because he wants to understand him better. As he says in his line to Lif :“ Father’s ax is very heavy, it is more so for the burden it represents..” (My game is in Spanish and some of his line may sound different as I translate them) This means that now he understand why his father did what he did. He had a great burden to carry and he was sick to boot. Gustav had ( like many parents) to sacrifice time to do more for the better good. Some people are just bad at time management and it does not mean they do not love their kids.

 Anna has been  not only his teacher but his support in this journey. And Anna has not been the only support he has had to help him heal his parents as we can see in the forging bonds with fallen Lumera and Henriette; but with his line  “The trust and the  support the heroes have given me have forged the person I am today.” lets us see all the help he has had and how far he has gone from “I don’t want to get close to the heroes” to “ They have helped me and supported me.”

But  it is one of the last lines he has told his dark side Lif that gives you the best proof. “ My father told me once that…’ A king has to harden his heart when when he has to make decisions for the good of the Kingdom of Askr’ but  I will not harden my heart to the point of ABANDONING those who suffer before my eyes.” With this he is telling Lif and us that he understands his father did what he did for the kingdom and that he ( Alfonse) will do better.

Any way. Al our pal has grown in many ways and he seems happy and strong and nothing would make me happier than that. At least this is my humble opinion.

We all know these characters have little to no merch. Even fanmerch creators gave up on them long ago if they ever gave them a chance. FEH OCs don't sell on a larger scale, they won't help someone pay bills.

But they can help me, who don't need my bills paid by fanmerch, to create more pins for the few of us who like FEH OCs and are starved for content! ♥ And I really want to do that, it's been incredibly satisfying to feed our niche community.

Subaki is absolutely going to end up convincing/sweet talking Irene into showing him around the nearby village, but Irene never leaves the castle so she tries to get out of it since she can't exactly act as a proper guide, but he declares they can just explore the village together, and Irene brings baby Azura along because she's her adopted child now and maybe she'll enjoy looking around town. Kaze's the one who braided her hair. Irene buys her and Azura new clothes.

Also, after the wounds on Irene's hands heal she'll permanently have Hrungnir's Heart marred on the back of both hands. The scar on Azura's leg is actually mentioned in one of her supports with Saizo- it's a wound she received when she was small and was being bullied by other children in Nohr. Seeing as this Azura was freshly kidnapped from Nohr by Hoshido and was only there for three days before she was summoned to Askr... it's safe to say she has the scar.

Subaki is canonically good with kids (points at his convos with Hayato in the DLC) so I imagine he'd be really sweet with little Azura and would offer to buy her treats and toys and such, and would carry her around when she got too tired or to help her get a better view at what's being sold at a market stall.

Baby Azura is not used to the affection or people being so nice to her. T_T
