the funny thing is about that sesame street clip is I remember growing up, how '90-'00s children's shows were commonly brushed as off as being too raucous, hyper, and loud by adults around me.
and there were definitely plenty of all-action shows, but there are many others where, after watching them back now I'm older, I'm struck by how slow-paced and quiet they actually were. there's a lot of scenes with no incidental music, the voice deliveries are very quiet and almost candid, and the sound design in general is subtle. even shows that are Known for their erratic tone (e.g. IZ) knew when to pull back and let a moment be, which makes the louder moments land all the better.
and maybe this is just me being old now lmaooo but I do occasionally catch little kid stuff and go, ok now this actually is just noise. this is good for no one. breathe a little.

Flower Delivery in Wandsworth - Handy Flower
How does delivering flowers work?
Delivering flowers involves several steps to ensure that fresh, beautiful arrangements reach their intended recipients in a timely and presentable manner. Here's a breakdown of how the process generally works:
Tumblr media
Order Placement: Customers select the desired bouquet, arrangement, or floral product from a florist's catalog either in person, over the phone, or through an online platform. They provide details such as the recipient's address, delivery date, and any personalized messages.
Flower Preparation: Once the order is received, florists gather the necessary flowers and materials. They carefully arrange the flowers, taking into account color schemes, sizes, and any specific requests made by the customer.
Packaging: The arranged flowers are placed in a vase, wrapped in decorative paper, or placed in a suitable container. The package is secured to prevent damage during transportation.
Delivery Coordination: Florists work with delivery personnel or third-party courier services to ensure timely delivery. They organize routes and schedules based on the delivery addresses and requested delivery times.
Delivery: The delivery person transports the flowers to the recipient's address. They might follow specific instructions for delivery, such as leaving the package with a neighbor or leaving it at the door if the recipient isn't available.
Recipient Reception: Upon delivery, the recipient receives the flowers along with any accompanying messages or additional items. They may also receive care instructions for maintaining the freshness of the flowers.
Confirmation: Some florists send a confirmation to the customer, letting them know that the flowers have been successfully delivered.
Throughout this process, florists and delivery services prioritize the handling and transportation of flowers to ensure they remain fresh and in optimal condition upon arrival. Temperature control, proper packaging, and timely delivery are crucial factors in providing a satisfactory flower delivery experience.

Something I really lament is the move towards digital media. Slowly we start to never own the things we like. Even if we "buy" a digital game, or movie or show. It's locked behind a certain platform or service. Once it shuts down we lose it forever.
Tumblr media
(me when big booby anime girl explosion Is taken off of Netflix)
I also feel like there's a certain charm to owning physical media, like things you can hold and the satisfaction from pressing a clicky button or putting a disc or cassette in and seeing it work.
Tumblr media
(oooh so classy so retro so.. expensive in the modern day)
More people should try to make copies of what they own digitally, or try to buy physical media before it's lost from streaming services and digital storefronts forever. Like the case with certain games like Godzilla 2014 and Transformers War for Cybertron. They don't exist digitally anymore. Only hard copies exist outside of emulation and at insane resell prices like... INSANE ones for a mediocre Godzilla game
Tumblr media
So yea. Buy some more CDs of those albums you have on replay! Buy a DVD of that niche obscure anime you like! And most importantly PLEASE PLEASE START MAKING HARD BACKUPS OF SHOWS YOU LIKE THAT YOU PIRATE!!! media preservation is important!
Tumblr media
(me downloading every episode of Daredevil onto my hard drive to burn to a DVD later so I can give it to all my friends)
This is now going to be a Comprehensive guide on how to rip a CD
POLL TIME!
Burning and Ripping Disc's❤️❤️💕💕🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️
STEP ONE:
BUY A CHEAP BLU-RAY/DVD DRIVE FOR YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER
here are some I recommend!!!
i personally use this pioneer one :)))
DVD drives in general are relatively cheap from 30-20 smackeroos, but Blu-ray drives are around 80-100 bucks depending on the manufacturer but offer better support for copying HD video such as on a Blu-ray.
STEP TWO:
FIND A PIECE OF MEDIA YOU ENJOY.
in this case its gonna be a CD!!
i really enjoy Vespertine by Bjork, but i wanna have it on my computer just in case anything happens to my CD. SO. ill open Windows Media Player
Tumblr media
(she hasn't changed since 2011 <3333 be urself girl)
NEXT
ill insert the disc into the player. and it'll start playing!
Pause the disc and go into Rip settings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NEXT!! select the format!
if you want to conserve space and don't mind sacrificing audio quality select MP3! if you want to hear the same level of audio quality as preserved on the CD, select a format labelled LOSSLESS. I recommend .WAV files as they'll work with most devices including an android phone or iTunes on PC (more on that later ;3 )
NEXT!
create a folder on whatever u wanna save ur music to! (u can call it whatever u want the world is your oyster bestie)
THEN!!! FINALLY
go into more options on the Rip Settings menu!
select ur folder and press Rip CD!!!!
the fun thing of this now, is that you can pull these files on your computer and put it onto your Android device so you can listen to your hearts content without lugging around your CD in a player at high quality without any subscription service with free reign of who you can give your download to!
But Magenta! what if i have an iPhone?
ohohoo fear not bestie because iTunes on PC has an even EASIER way to do it
because simply putting in a disc with iTunes downloaded prompts THIS
Tumblr media
(oooo so new age)
and if you have apple music on your iPhone this will sync to your phone if you logged into iTunes on PC!!
thank you for coming to my TED talk

So you wanna sell your art on Redbubble but you don't know how?
(Or, I meant to write this months ago but better late than never lol)
OKAY okay. I have a bunch of friends as well as mutuals who have lovely lovely art and have considered selling it online (specifically on Redbubble lol that's what's being covered today anyways) but don't really have any clue how RB works, if it's right for them, or what to expect. SO I'M HERE TO GUIDE Y'ALL THROUGH ALL THE BASICS and hopefully, if I've done my job right, this tutorial will help you set up your RB shop and start selling your art online (or help you decide that RB isn't for you lol).
Table of Contents:
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
How to make your account and set up payment
How to add a new work
Pricing? Markup?
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
>> RedBubble is a site that allows you to upload your artwork and sell it on quite a variety of different products.
>> The main benefit of using RedBubble, aside from reach and visibility, is that RB handles *everything* when it comes to the manufacturing and shipment of your product. You are literally not responsible for anything other than making the art, uploading it, and deciding how you want it to look on different products. If there is any kind of problem with material quality or delivery (though in my experience they're pretty good with both of those things), it's not your responsibility to correct!
>> RedBubble does not charge you to sell on their site, but they do set a base price for all products to cover manufacturing and to ensure that they make some level of profit for each sale. We'll look into the specifics of this in a later section when discussing pricing and markup, but it would be considered pretty standard, for example, for an item to cost $20 and you to make $4-$5 upon making a sale.
>> At the end of the day, whether or not RB is right for you largely depends on whether or not you feel their pricing and payment is fair, and whether their available products correspond to what you wish to sell.
Okay, so how do I get started?
Well first you're gonna need an account!
>> Head over to the RedBubble main page and click "Sign Up"
Tumblr media
>> Select "Artist Signup"
Tumblr media
>> Fill in your email, shop name (this is your username also), and password
>> Click "Sign Up"
>> You will be brought to this dashboard page:
Tumblr media
>> We will discuss creating products in the next section. Everything under "Set Up Shop" is optional and I'll let you explore that on your own so we can focus on the essentials. That just leaves... Getting paid!
>> First, check the email you used to confirm your email address. If you didn't receive an email to confirm your email address, don't worry, we can resend the form- keep going with the steps for now.
>> Then, under "Get Paid", click "Add your name & address". Note that all of the options in the "Get Paid" section actually lead to the same form, but selecting this option starts us near the top.
>> Fill out all the fields on this page. If you didn't receive the email to confirm your email address, click on this button:
Tumblr media
Then check your email again.
>> Note when choosing your payment method: if you are from Canada, like me, then paypal is your only option. Same for parts of Europe that aren't in the UK. Otherwise, you also have bank transfer options:
Tumblr media
>> Once you've finished filling in everything on this page, click "Save Changes" at the bottom and... That's it! Now you can get paid :)
**Note: I believe RB still requires you to make a minimum amount of money before they do a transfer (for me in Canada I believe it's $20 CAD?), so do keep that in mind!
>> Payments are made to your account monthly, generally on the same day every month (assuming you've made profits!).
How to add a new work
So you've made your account, fantastic. Now you're ready to actually add your works to RB and make them available for purchase to the wider public! To demonstrate the process, we're gonna use our pal Nicky here (who was a gift from my lovely friend @llumimoon) and pretend that we want to upload him:
Tumblr media
Ain't he a doll? Anyways, let's begin.
>> Hover your mouse over your pfp in the top right corner to make this drop down menu appear:
Tumblr media
>> Click on "Add New Work"
**On a new account with nothing uploaded, this will look a bit different. instead choose "Sell Your Art" from this dropdown menu, then "Add New Work" from the top right corner of the same dashboard page from earlier.
>> Click on "Upload New Work" (and note the file type and resolution requirements at the bottom. I always stick with PNGs, but in theory JPEG or GIF works as well.)
Tumblr media
>> Select the file of the image you want to upload. In our case, that's Nicky.
>> Now write a title for your work, tags, and a description if you want. The tagging system is how people will actually find your work, it works a lot like Tumblr's! Try to choose things that are relevant to whatever your piece is. If you're uploading fandom-related art and aren't sure what tags are used for your fandom on RB, try looking some up and seeing what generates the most relevant results!
Tumblr media
>> You may have noticed the "background color" section right below Nicky. This sets the default background color for your piece on different products. We're gonna keep this as the default white here, and I'll show you how to adjust this for individual products very soon.
>> Scroll down. This is where we decide what products we want this design to be available on and how we want Nicky to look on each thing we've enabled.
For example, if I were actually selling Nicky here (if that wasn't clear obviously I'm not actually selling my friend's art lol don't do that ofc) I would definitely want people to be able to buy him as a little sticker :]
Tumblr media
>> In this case, "Stickers & Magnets" have been enabled by default. If you wanted to disable them, you would simply click that little "Enabled" button. Similarly, if we want to enable a product type that is disabled, just click that same button (which will be grey rather than green and say "disabled").
>> If a product is disabled and you are being prevented from enabling it, that's because the dimensions of your image are too small for the product in question! You'll wanna resize your image (preferably in a manner that retains its resolution of course) and come back.
>> Hm. Let's use the hats here as an example of how we might make edits to the layout of a specific product.
Tumblr media
He's kind of cut off, as you can see actually that's pretty in-character, and I think I want this hat to be pink rather than this default beige-looking color.
>> Click on "Edit"
Tumblr media
So, the first thing I'm gonna do here is use that "Scale Image" slider to scale him down a bit. I'm also gonna click the image and drag him up a bit to re-center him.
Tumblr media
Next, I'm gonna pick from one of the default colors and choose the pink one.
Tumblr media
>> Notice the two arrows beside the words "Bucket Hat"? This lets me go through the different types of hats available and change the background/base color for each of those, like the dad hat:
Tumblr media
>> Before we apply our changes, click that little gear icon right under the pencil icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
>> This lets us adjust the markup price for each individual hat. It is 20% by default. Changing the markup percentage affects how much you will make off of a sale, as well as how much your product will cost. More on that in the next section!
>> Click "Apply Changes"
Tumblr media
The "dad hat" was the last hat I had selected (when setting its color), so the display has changed to show that one in the preview. Here's our bucket hat from before:
Tumblr media
Nice!
>> The specifics of how you can adjust your design will vary depending on the product. With pillows & totes, for example, the editing menu looks like this:
Tumblr media
Using the "Choose pattern" option, I can make the Nicky image repeat as a pattern like so:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note that I also scaled the image down a bit here too).
>> One last thing. See that "Replace Image" button near the top?
Tumblr media
You can use this when you want to use a different version of your image altogether for a specific product.
>> That's the gist! Play around with the settings for each item as you see fit. You can always edit them again later.
>> Scroll down. Select up to 2 relevant media types.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure this affects search results when users choose specific filters, but tbh otherwise I don't think it's all too important.
>> Let's look at what remains.
Tumblr media
>> I have the "Who can view this work?" section set to "Only You"- THIS IS SO I CAN FINISH THE STEPS HERE AND SAVE THE WORK WITHOUT ACTUALLY MAKING IT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. In practice, you'd only use this option if you wanted to buy your own work on something but didn't want other people to be able to see or buy it. Otherwise, you're always gonna choose "Anybody (public)".
>> Collections can be created to organize the pieces in your shop (for example, by fandom), but we won't cover the specifics of how to do that here.
>> Set whether or not your work contains "mature content".
>> If you want, you can set which product shows up in the preview for your work when people view your shop. If you think your piece looks especially nice on a mug, for example, you can make sure that's what people see first.
Tumblr media
>> Finally, agree to RedBubble's User Agreement (read that little blurble, since that's basically all you generally need to care about when it comes to what you can and can't sell on RB, but more on that later).
Tumblr media
>> Click "Save Work" and voila! Your piece is now available in your shop, and can be found in the search results of whatever tags you left on it (this may take a few minutes to take effect).
>> If you want to check out your design in your shop, navigate to your pfp and click "View shop"
Tumblr media
>> Don't fret if the design doesn't appear in your shop right away! Again, this can take several minutes.
>> To edit your design again (and to view/purchase privately uploaded designs like Nicky here), click the "Manage Portfolio" option instead:
Tumblr media
>> Here is Nicky as he appears in my portfolio (again, your portfolio and your shop are different things- Nicky will not appear in my shop at all because he is set to "private")
Tumblr media
>> You can click that little gear icon to do a variety of things, like return to the editing menu from earlier. The three icons below Nicky refer to the amount of comments, sales, and likes your design has received in total.
>> Click on your design either from your shop page or your portfolio page. Wow! Your cool art is now available on all the products you enabled. Be sure to look through them and make sure that everything is to your liking!
Pricing? Markup? What's that about?
Well good tumblr user, RB handles everything regarding the production (and shipping) of your product, which means that they set a base (minimum) price for every kind of product to account for materials and production, and of course make some amount of profit themselves. The *markup* is a percentage that you the artist set (see the previous section on how to do so), and will determine how much you actually make off of a sale. Note that increasing the markup price means that your product will increase in price as well!
>> An Example (using hypothetical but more or less realistic numbers):
Let's say that the base price (0% markup, i.e. no profit for you) of a phone case on RB is $15. You set the markup to 30%. 30% of 15 is 4.5, so the public price is increased to $19.5, and if anyone purchases this phone case with your design on it, you will make $4.5.
And that's really the gist! Ultimately the markup price is up to you and what you feel is reasonable, though RB sets it to 20% by default.
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Eheh, unfortunately I've reached the image limit for this post but:
To check your sales:
>> Click on your pfp
>> Click "Account Settings"
>> Under "Artist Tools" (on the left side), click "Sales History"
To check your payment history:
>> From the same "Artist Tools" menu (see above), click "Payment History"
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
>> Do I need to report the income I make on RB when I do my taxes?
Yup! But dw, it isn't anything special. I mean, I'm not here to do your taxes for you, but money you make on Redbubble counts as "Self-Employment Income", same as if you sold your art just about anywhere else really!
>> So what am I actually allowed to sell on Redbubble? Is fanart okay?
Generally speaking... Yes! Obviously work should be your own, and it should not contain any company logos or names that you don't have the right to, nor photos of actual people unless you have their explicit permission.
>> Hm, okay, but what if I *do* accidentally sell something that isn't allowed?
In most cases, it'll just get taken down 👍. And no, you won't be asked to pay back any profits you made off the work in the meantime.
**A more extreme case: Story time. So, years ago a friend of mine uploaded some official Rick and Morty art that he forgot to set to "private". Overnight he made... Let's just say he made quite a bit of money. RB responded by taking down the work and banning his IP address, effectively preventing him from ever selling on the site again. But they still let him keep the money he made, and he didn't get into any actual trouble outside of that. What I'm saying is, even if you really fuck up, it'll be alright. And again, this was a pretty extreme scenario.
***Note: if your work falls under one of the brands in Redbubble's "Partner Program" (see the next section), it will be temporarily removed from the search results and your shop while it undergoes review. So don't panic if you see your fanart suddenly disappear from your shop!
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
Very briefly, Redbubble has their partner program, which I won't explain in full detail here, but basically it means that if you upload a work and tag it as one of these brands, it will be inspected for review and, upon passing that brand's guidelines, will be considered "officially licensed" merch for that brand. Just felt worth mentioning!
So that's really the gist folks! There's certainly much more to play around with when it comes to RB, but that's all you need to know to get started! Hopefully this was useful? Hopefully lol. In any case, good luck out there!

parableofarable Geetar for sale -
Your chance to own a little piece of.. wood with strings on it.
Beautiful Fender American Professional Jazzmaster. I used this guitar most of 2017 whilst on tour with Green Day as pictured by the inimitable #bobcam
It was also used 2018 to record a chunk of ‘The Balance’ album and can be seen there pictured in Grouse Lodge.
I don’t want to send it off abroad for it not to arrive or to arrive broken so UK only unfortunately. Within UK can arrange courier drop off or collection/delivery whatever. Couple of usual little paint dinks all pictured. Comes with fitted hard case.
I’ve checked the reverb.com value etc for these and stuck it around or just under some of the other listings for the same guitar. Payment can be PayPal or cash depending on how it’s getting to ya!
Would love to see this go to someone who’s gonna get a lot of use out of it as I mostly just use the same Strat and Les Paul these days.
£1500 - First come first serve DM.
Thanks

Estera - Ch 21 - Consult
The only thing more evil than an evil cliff-hangar is not resolving it in any way in the next chapter.
A little Sky and Stars though? That would be good wouldn’t it?
What went before
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
John, however, had not been keen.
When Scott had mentioned to him that he’d like to call in on Estera whilst they were in the UK for the TI meeting the following day there had been… a tension.
He hadn’t said anything and appeared content to go along with the plan. But the best part of 3 decades experience of big-brothering told Scott that John was on edge at dinner. Then he’d come back from an evening sea swim with Gordon to find his two nearest brothers deep in conversation in the kitchen. John was pacing and gesticulating, Virgil using the firm, reassuring voice Scott recognised as the one he tended to use on him when he was about to fly off the handle.
Scott backed quickly back around the corner, some instinct telling him his presence would not improve the situation. A frustrated exclamation floated around the corner.
“How can you be so calm? I can’t bear to… we can’t afford to lose him again.”
A reassuring rumble, too quiet for him to hear.
“We don’t know that. What if she triggers another episode? What if he’s rushing in to something not thinking straight and…”
The Virgil rumble interrupted slightly more abruptly.
John trusted Scott’s judgment. From rescue strategy to tactics for managing the TI Board to wrangling The Tinies. Even when they disagreed on the best approach, his brother would advise but in general fall in with Scott’s instinct (whilst making contingency plans in the background of course). In turn, Scott took John’s advice seriously and more often than not adjusted to fit in with it. That’s how it worked, it was how they worked together.
John trusted him to make a good call in everything except, it turned out, in any kind of decision relation to Scott’s own welfare. The fact he could immediately think of five or six reasons that might justify his brother’s view on that point did not prevent the painful knot of hurt and defensiveness forming in Scott’s gut.
He was about to stride around the corner to tell his brother exactly what he thought when a hand rested firmly on his shoulder and Gordon looked up at him, absolute seriousness in his gaze, and slightly shook his head. His little brother then adopted a casual expression and strolled into the kitchen.
“Interesting fact - if trigger avoidance was a good coping mechanism I’d never have set foot in Thunderbird Four.”
The unmistakable sound of the fridge opening and jars being rattled around muffled whatever responses John and Virgil were making and Scott’s heart clenched at the light hearted delivery of such a heavy reminder that his little brother knew the darkness too. Then the thump of the fridge door and click-hiss of ring pull before:
“I’m just saying, oh beloved, ancient and immensely wise bros of mine, that the Old Man is probably aware of what his triggers are and unless she adopted a whole new therapeutic approach with me, Patricia will have never suggested it was a good idea to actively avoid them forever.”
There was a silence.
His very much beloved, much-older-and-definitely-wiser-than-Scott-usually-acknowledged little brother had strolled back round the corner and saluted him before counting down from 5 with his fingers and then nodding in the direction of the kitchen again.
So Scott had gone with the flow and trying to feign the same level of casual, wandered into the kitchen with a cheerful “evening all”. He pretended not to notice the flickers of awkwardness on both faces and made a beeline for the coffee machine. “Beverage?”
“It’s 10pm”
“It’s 10am somewhere, surely?” John raised an eyebrow. “Fine, just for me then.” Scott pressed the button and watched the coffee flow into the cup as he collected his thoughts and tried to ignore the silent conversation going on behind him. He carefully added the tiniest splash of cold water before taking a sip and turning back to them:
“So, I was thinking while we’re in London there might be a good moment for me to pop in on Patricia if she’s got a slot free.”
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
The receptionist looked up and gave a dashing smile as Scott paced back past him for the umpteenth time.
“Not long now, sir. Might I get you another hot drink?”
“Please.”
“Coffee extra strong, right?”
Scott inclined his head with a smile.
John had a theory about Scott and caffeine, apparently, he’d said as much on the flight over but hadn’t let on what it was yet. The trip over in Tracy Two had been slower than Scott would have preferred but John’s quiet suggestion that he’d prefer to use the jet rather than One - just in case Scott wanted him to pilot back - seemed a reasonable compromise.
It was easier to talk in TT than in One, and so they did, off and on. Mostly TI related or brothers related. But comfortable. John seemed relieved that Scott was going to talk his idea through with someone who knew what they were talking about and for the moment, that was enough.
Scott hadn’t made any plans though, he didn’t want to set something up and then cancel. He just had to hope she would be available when… if… he asked. If not, there could be another day. It didn’t always have to be now or never…
He hadn’t noticed the door opening.
“Tracy?”
Here goes.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
John was waiting outside with the fast-becoming-traditional take away coffees. Scott raised his cup in salute and nodded his thanks as they wandered over the crossing to the park and grabbed a bench overlooking the water.
“How was it?”
“Different.”
“How so?”
“Normally I crawl in there a bit of a wreck. It was interesting to… not.”
“A positive kind of different then?”
“Mmm.” Scott sighed and looked up at his brother who was regarding him with tangible patience. “So, do you want a blow by blow account or the executive summary?”
“Whatever you want to give me.”
Scott leaned back on the bench and watched a couple of ducks swoop down and land on the pond, one gliding in smooth as silk, the other making a complete hash of it and sending up a tidal wave of spray. He could almost sense the first bird’s eye roll.
“We spent” he checked his watch and his eyes widened in surprise “nearly 75 minutes discussing my known triggers and how I approach each of them. Most I don’t actively avoid and can mostly just ride it out if they turn up… dogs, snow, rust…”
“Rust? I didn’t know about that one.”
“It doesn’t feature much. Hooray for cahelium, I guess?”
“And a strict maintenance schedule.”
“Indeed. The other kind, like needles or being stuck in the infirmary or, you know, ‘having malaria’” Scott added air quotes to try to lighten that one “I try to avoid but often don’t have a lot of choice so it is what it is but I do find them… difficult to manage.”
He sipped his coffee and tried not to think about how difficult.
“I understand. So… which is the girl?”
“I don’t know yet that Estera” he placed a subtle emphasis on her name “is either. It might just have been the conversation we had.”
“Does that make a difference?”
“I guess not. If we meet, it will probably come up at some point. It could happen again. And then maybe you and the others would have to… help… me. Again.”
He sighed.
“Is it worth it, Scott?”
Scott reached out and took John’s hand from where it rested on the bench between them.
“You’re always looking out for me John, I know that. And I do appreciate it. I know you’d rather I didn’t take so many risks and I guess it would be easier on you all if I just moved on and didn’t pursue this friendship. But… I think I have to try? I want to try. I think it might be good for me to try, even if it does end up going wrong. Can you understand that?”
John squeezed Scott’s fingers between his own and nodded. No words were necessary.
Scott blinked rapidly and looked away. A pair of dogs were chasing each other’s tails in the distance, too far away to hear. He breathed out slowly and pondered the fact that yet again he’d felt able to share 90% of the volume of information with his brother but not the bit that was nagging at him most insistently.
Patricia never told him what to do, that wasn’t how it worked. No doubt she’d had hundreds of ex-military clients just desperately wanting someone in authority to give them a list of orders to follow. Not that Scott had ever been particularly good at unquestioningly complying with directions… but sometimes an uncomplicated “how to” crib-sheet would be really welcome.
Instead, when they had occasion to discuss a decision with which he was faced, she might give some limited general information, but mostly invited him to use his own logic to work through likely outcomes, suggested some others. She took no crap and often bluntly called him out on his (usually negative) assumptions and thought patterns. Sometimes he’d go away and think, other times he’d come to a decision then and there but she’d never express an opinion on whether she thought it was the right one. He’d tried to read her expression so many times but it was always impenetrable. She never told him what to do or not to do. That wasn’t how it worked.
Today for the first time in nearly ten years she’d broken that rule. As he’d put his hand on the door handle and turned back to express his thanks as always she had looked up from her notes and frowned ever so slightly at him:
“One more thing. You might find that emotions run particularly high to start with, it might be a good idea to bear that in mind.”
Scott had apparently failed to hide his lack of comprehension as to her point because with the faintest hint of an eye-roll, Patricia clarified:
“For heaven’s sake, Tracy… don’t sleep with her.”
In response to which he’d done a stellar impression of a goldfish, nodded and hurriedly backed out of the room.
Given her speciality, they’d never had cause to discuss that annoyingly persistent facet of his public reputation that refused to die no matter how unjust it might be (or how many articles EOS tampered with). It wasn’t particularly important what his trauma therapist thought about it anyway, it just wasn’t relevant and so it didn’t come up. But… surely after all these years, she knew him better than that? He wasn’t sure whether to be embarrassed or outraged, settling in the end for confused. He hadn’t been thinking of Estera in that way, not more than a fleeting, barely conscious acknowledgment she was a woman with features he generally found attractive. Anyway, given the memories he was struggling with, thankfully false but still horribly potent, that was not a headspace he was going anywhere near.
And given the look on John’s face right now… he was going have to make that really clear before anyone got overexcited.

To Surprise You My Love - BWS
Hey, everyone. I hope you are doing well today and been safe, and here is another fanfic. It's my best work but I enjoyed writing hope you like it.
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Tumblr media
You were on a video video call with your boyfriend. You were meant to working but you decided to have a few moments to yourself. You busy with work on the other side of the world travelling was your job, although you enjoyed it but it comes with a price and that is due to not seeing the most important people. People who you loved and cared about.
The only thing to talk to those important people was via video call. Yes, it was not the same, but it was better than nothing. Without fail, you would call your family before going to bed, and once in the morning, this was to keep close as you missed them.
This morning, you decided to speak to your birthday, who you missed and thought about constantly, so instead of working, you wanted to speak with him.
"Hey, your birthday is coming up. What are you planning on doing?"
You asked him with excitement.
"I honestly don't know. What's the point of celebrating birthdays? You're not here. I don't want to celebrate with anyone else other than you"
He replied back while running his fingers through his hair and taking a deep sigh.
"Baby, you have to celebrate. I know I am not here, but it doesn't mean you have to celebrate your birthday. It's a special day, you know"
You said.
"Whh, what's so special about it baby tell me"
He said, curious to know.
"Cause on that day a very special, the most sweetest person was born I think you know who I am on about"
You say to him with a playful on your face.
"Nope, not a clue"
He says to you with a smile.
"You silly"
You say while giggling.
"Oh right, me got you now, love."
He says.
During the video call, the oakr of you had a habit of staring into each others eyes and them burst out laughing.
"Whh do we do that?"
He asks
"Do what?"
You ask.
"We speak, then we go quiet and burst out laughing"
He says to you while laughing.
"It's cause I get lost in your beautiful brown eyes"
The pair of you end up laughing again. You loved each others company. You never got bored of talking to one another.
"Anyways, you won't be able to come for my birthday then"
He said with a sad face.
"Sorry baby, work is very busy they need me here, and I didn't have any holidays left. Don't I will video call you and I sent your gift should arrive on the morning of your birthday so make sure you open the door for the delivery man alright?"
You say to him. You wanted to cheer him up, but a sweet smile had vanished from his face, knowing that you won't be there on his birthday.
"Don't worry, I will love. I want you, though, I don't want anything else"
He says to you with a sad smile.
"I know, baby. I promise we will celebrate when I get back. I promise now, please, can you smile for me"
You try to cheer him, but everything you tried just wasn't working.
"What's the point? You're not here. I need you here with me, baby. I need you, I miss you, I want you here with me, my love"
You saw the sadness and heard it in his voice. Little did he know that he had a surprise coming home for him on his birthday, but you kept all hush hush.
A few weeks later, you were in the air, making your way home back to the UK to say that you were excited it was an understatement but you happy to see your boyfriend after 3 months of being away.
On that morning you got, it was long but it gave you time to plan things to surprise your boyfriend he knew you were unable to come due to your job and yes it did upset him but he understands the reason and accepted you won't be gone forever.
Eventually, you reached your door. It was early in the morning, so you thought that Brad won't be up yet, but all you wanted to do was to surprise him.
You got into the shared flat and looked around, making sure not to make any noise possible. That was your aim not to make a sound.
Decided to leave your bags out in the hallway. Eventually, you made your to the shared bedroom, and you saw Brad peacefully asleep you then climbed in to bed gently and quietly and laid down next to him and gently tickled him to disturb him from his sleep.
"Brad, Bradley, wake up birthday boy"
You whispered in his ears. He tossed and moved bit was still fast asleep, so you whispered and called him again.
"Bradley, wake up. Hey, birthday boy, WAKE UP!" You shouted, and eventually he jumped and woke up and once again screamed a huge.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My baby"
You say to him. He's shocked turned happiness.
"Oh my fucking is it really you"?
Brad says with shock and laughter. You laughed, but there's were some tears of joy.
"No I'm a fucking ghost of course it's me. I told your surprise os coming and here it is my love"
He still couldn't believe it that you were there right next to him.
"I thought you couldn't come due to work babe"
He asked.
"It was all a lie just so I can surprise you, and here I am happy birthday, my love"
"Aww, thank you, my darling. That is the best surprise and gift ever is having you here back in bed with me. That's all I ever wanted now come here and give me my real present"
He said.
Brad then took off the top you were wearing and threw somewhere into the room and playfully pushed you onto the bed. You both laughed happy to be back in each other's company once more. He cuddled your bed dodges glued to each other and made his birthday the best one yet...
