Wrote a short lil B-Daman fanfic cuz I felt like it lol

Why do people cringe at their old art. genuinely. i'm going through my art from 2015 and all i can do is go aww. even at some 'bad takes'. my drawings weren't great, but oh my god were they adorable.

Also it's very cute to see a young queer me who didn't know it, draw 'yaoi' and sometimes 'yuri' (self-proclaimed at the time. didn't have to be about anime). it's cute how i didn't yet fear ship art, even same-sex. this was right before some classmates opened my sketchbook without my consent while i wasn't there and caught a gay wedding full on display. Since then, my ship art became subtle, only delegated to maybe some blushes.

And then, it disappeared.

I miss how young me wasn't afraid to explore queer themes in art. It's sweet to see the ship art, even if it's "badly done" or it plays into yaoi roles of the time in some areas.

I just hit the page with the gay wedding, and it's actually sweeter than I remembered. It's so sweet. I'm genuinely gonna cry. For a long time, I couldn't look back at it without cringing at the memory of my classmates huddling around the table where I'd left my sketchbook. And the way one of them asked me why two guys were getting married. But now, I'm hit with how sweet and utterly genuine my art used to be, and for that reason, I absolutely love it.

It's between the characters Riki Ryugasaki and Samuru Shigami from B-Daman Crossfire. I have no idea why I was so obsessed with that anime, but the ship had me at a chokehold.

The only time I cringed was when I looked at my drawing of Frisk and Sans laying with their heads on each other with the label of ship art on top, but I was a child who headcanoned Sans to be the same age as Frisk, so like. yk.

But that's the Only time I cringed through this whole experiment. Every single art piece besides that one has made me smile or in some cases laugh at the absurdity of it (oh god the vinscott with vincent taking off phone guy's phone MASK so you could see a bit of his face underneath. I laughed. and GODD the jeremike of mike lifting up jeremy shouldn't be as funny as it is. it's hilarious, but a bit sweet. and the little me on the next page with my palms open and a rainbow coming off from it like that one spongebob meme saying 'yaoi'. god i love you child me. i could NOT draw shit like that nowadays. keep it up i guess!)

Okay the cisswap Jeremike is actually cute. if only in the regular versions i didn't uh. make jeremy an... hm. yaoi term that starts with 'u' and ends with 'ke'. but anyway. The Michelle and Jenifer drawing is actually pretty cute.

AWWW I just encountered a 'pocky challenge' (unfinished) drawing, that's ADORABLEE. Okay my Maxaac / Imaax art was so cute... Isaac is thinking about him in classss... aww........

Part of me knew I’d love this show more upon rewatching it . I remember first watching Crossfight and Es all the way back in 2014 . I was definitely younger then and I feel like now I’m older I can appreciate this show a lot more . With it’s characters , plot , development , etc . It’s definitely has more depth than I originally gave it credit for . And I’m glad I rewatched it also , hi Kamon !👋

Looks like I’m rewatching es next . I still think it’s cool Kamon appears before his own season . Something else about all of this is Cross Fight sets the stage for es . In the beginning of Cross Fight B Daman wasn’t popular and it later becomes that way . In most game anime like this the game is already popular . Which is why I really appreciate this decision . The end of Cross Fight marks the re-beginning of the age of B Daman that was in ancient times . And a major turning point in the world of Cross Fight B Daman . I honestly wish there was a series after es cause I really love B Daman and want more of it .

Kakeru has legit cinna bun powers .

Boy , Kakeru is quite literally rain of sunshine ! Subaru is literally the stone cold rival who shows no emotion . There is no one Kakeru can’t cheer up . It would have been nice if Kakeru was in Yugioh Arc V . He could tell Yuya the secret to really making people smile and changing their ways . Aka you don’t need speeches or entertainment to make people smile . What you need to do is connect with them . Only because Kakeru and Subaru are in sync they were able to truly understand and help each other . Kakeru was even able to finally melt the ice around Subaru’s heart and become his friend . The best thing about this is how gradual it is . Kakeru literally couldn’t even hold a conversation with Subaru for more than 5 seconds in the beginning . Subaru like Jack will only recognize to someone with strength . Kakeru has to train a lot before Subaru will even consider him a rival much less a friend . It actually takes him awhile to become strong enough to beat Subaru . Not to mention he goes through a lot with Subaru while doing it . After they were able to be in sync for the first time against Naoya , Subaru started to acknowledge Kakeru .It’s then cracks finally start to form in Subaru’s cold mask . Kakeru considers Subaru his friend though Subaru is too tsudere to admit their friends despite his later actions clashing with the remark that their “ just rivals “ . When Naoya offers a way to help Dracyan recover his memories Subaru goes out of his way not only to warn Kakeru , but goes all the way to North City with him to make sure nothing happens . In his own weird way he tries to protect Kakeru from Rudy and Dragold . Subaru tries to convince Kakeru he can’t take on Dragold , but he can . He goes off alone not only to face Dragold , but also Naoya at the same time . Though , despite all Subaru’s objections “ saying he can do this alone . “ and being a overall jerk Kakeru helps him anyway . Not only that , but he encourages him into believing they can win . Despite , the overwhelming odds they sync again and tie . This is after Kakeru finally learns the full truth about Subaru and why he’s so cold . He’s able to finally fully understand and get through to Subaru and his tsudereness . In conclusion , I love their rivalry and the relationship of that rivalry . I love how they are able to help each other subtly with Subaru and not so subtly with Kakeru . Which makes sense since Kakeru and Subaru are polar opposites . They are able to push each other to not only be better b shots , but people too . Despite all of that they can overcome their differences , become friends , and save the world from a crazy evil dragon king . ( That sounds strangely familiar...😜)
