FFXIV Dal, Dalamus Sarangerel, had a well-rounded and loving family! He had a mother who was a hunter and taught him the basics of battle, and a father who taught him herbalism and gave him his first journal which he used to sketch and record notes about the world around him.

This changed when Dalamud descended and drove everyone except Dalamus into a frenzy and they became violent and cult-like in their worship of the recently-freed Bahamut, and Dalamus had to leave because he couldn't bear the pain of seeing them act in such a way. He hopes to find a cure, but has so far been told that the most merciful option is death.

Miyuki in ffxiv verse is Sarangerel Tergel. She mains as a ninja/rogue because it’s the only dual wielding class thus far. She is an Auri, or part of the Au Ra. She seconds as a Red Mage and Samurai.

Sarangerel is Mongolian for “moonbeam”. Tergel is Mongolian for the Moon festival (?). Her sister is named Narantuyaa (sunbeam or sunlight).

They are both Xaela Au Ra, a race of humanoids with reptilian traits. Suggests too much exposure to Bahamut’s aether? Still, Sarangerel thinks of herself as a dragon.

Once a consign soldier under Garlean rule, Miyuki is the name the Garleans gave Sarangerel because her name was hard to pronounced. Sarangerel rather be called Saran, as a nickname. (Narantuyaa demanded she be known as Char, or Crimson.) Sarangerel proudly shows off being a “viator “ traitor to Garlemald or the Empire.

She’s the first mate for the sky pirate Captain and my Warrior of Light, Mira. Sarangerel is a Chosen and enjoys fighting.

The Tergel tribe is a small tribe from the Steppes. They are known for being closely guided by the celestial bodies. After a great defeat during the monthly ritual to determine the leader of the Xaela and the Steppes, the Tergel tribe were pushed out of their home. Ever since a child of the Tergel tribe has been dreaming of revenge against both the Dotharl and Oronir. Sarangerel is one such, and happily assists the Mols (?) in the ritual (as Mira calls it “a bloodbath”).
