the thing about the discourse surrounding t*ylor sw*ft and her private jet usage is that like. yes. private jets are inherently unethical, harm the environment, etc etc. but like 95% of the criticism on this website and twitter that is directed at the specific usage of those jets is made with absolutely zero understanding of how aviation works. like if you're going to get into the weeds arguing over one of hundreds of owners that are just as if not more wasteful and egregious in their use of private jets, at least learn about what you're talking about. no one is going to take you seriously when you're screaming about maintenance flights or subcontracts that you don't know are subcontracts.
the issue is the industry itself, not one musician that we all have to see talked about 100 times a day so her jet use is an easy slam dunk hot take.
