More Alexandra Boyd (aka the voice of Elaine Marley) pics right here for my appreciation posting!
Can't believe I found this.
If IMDB is right, this was the FIRST series she worked in. BBC had started this...miniseries compilation? That the right term? Anyway it's called "Screen 2." This episode was part of its first season, based on a true event called "The Burston Rebellion." 1911 Norfolk, village of Burston: the local kids have no schooling, until Bernard Hill and Eileen Atkins take over the abandoned 'schoolhouse.' Education for all, yo!
Then last night I listened to a podcast Alexandra was very recently on (Titanic Scene-by-Scene, Feb 20, 2023; AWESOME interview I must say.) She was 21 when she played one of the older students. She's so cute in it, must've been when she was like RIGHT out of drama school.
And of course some completely random YouTube user had (nearly) the entire episode on their channel...so yeah of COURSE I sat down and watched...some of it. Just scrolling to find Alexandra at that point. I'll probably go back and watch the whole thing at some point.
Cheers, Tumblr'verse! Back with more soon.
