I know you’re worried about me, but you’re going to have to do better than this if you want me to play the good little patient while Breaker and his boys get to smash up a dragon. They’ve only got a three-hour head start, if I left now-.”

“Smash up a dragon,” Selic deadpanned. “Erol, just how big do you think a wyvern is?” 

Her eyes narrowed. “Small house?”

“Medium. Pig.”

The surprise was enough to interrupt her scratching. “No.”

Selic nodded grimly. “They fly, and their venom is blinding, but they're hardly the stuff of legends.”

“But they sent Breaker’s crew out! I heard a nurse talking about watching them leave.”

“Yeah, they did: Armed with crossbows. It takes skill with shields and bows to fight those things, but all you need is one hit and…”

Selic pantomimed a crash landing with his hands. He almost felt bad about how heartbroken Erol looked. 

“Fuck.”

“Look, I know you’re disappointed, but I promise, if you get back to your room and let yourself  heal, the next dragon is yours. A real dragon.”

Erol still looked unsure. “I want that in writing.”

Errol mulled it over. She did love cards. But on the hierarchy of her desires, first there was beer, then there was stew, then, and only then, were there cards. There were probably needs below those three, but she’d worry about those when she got there. 

“Can’t. I’ve only got one earring on me, and I need it to pay.” 

Selic waved the excuse off. He knew better than to put fun behind eating and haggling. There was just too much eating and haggling to be done. The people who figured that they’d worry about life after finishing those two 'simple' tasks just wound up dying midbite and midbarter. It was damn near the downfall of his entire people’s civilization - to eat and haggle joylessly, forever, deep beneath the bones of this world. 

“Food’s on me. And the beer.  As for the cards, I have something to match that earring…”

He rummaged through the pockets inside his vest - Gods, there must be a dozen of them - before pulling out a familiar silver ring. He grinned roguishly at Errol.

Errol was reluctantly impressed with the nerve of the little bastard. He was probably the first person to turn ‘annoying little brother’ into a profession.   

“You’re going to bet my own ring… That you stole from me… Against my earring? Is this a bit?"

Selic shrugged. 

“I took it as payment for dragging your fat ass across the city. Took me damn near three hours. Ruined my nicest tunic. You think I overcharged?” 

Errol glared at him for a tense moment. Selic held the glare. Gently. Like a baby bird.  

“...No,” Errol relented. “The price was fair. Cheap, even.”

“But you would like the ring back,” the dwarf stated. 

“Yes.”

“Then play.” 

It was a challenge. An infuriating challenge, but even as her brain preached about the foolishness of betting her last scrap of money she was fully committing to the course. It was her calling. Her and Selic, twin apostles, spreading the Gospel of Refusing to Learn (No Matter How Bad It Hurt). “Fine. Deal em’ out.”

Nem toda crise econômica é gerada por governos. Porém, uma crise econômica gerada por governos e amplificada por bancos centrais, via muito subsídios de redução artificial de taxa de juros, que incentiva a expansão do crédito de forma insustentável pelos bancos, aí é outro nível de crise econômica que um governo consegue gerar.

E é uma crise econômica muito mais difícil de ser corrigida. Porque como um governo pode impor a sua moeda e desvalorizá-la, e gerar uma inflação cada vez maior, só um governo consegue fazer isso.
