Supreme Court Questions Delay in Crypto Laws and Regulation in India
India’s long-standing indecision on cryptocurrency regulation has drawn sharp rebuke from the country’s highest judicial authority. In a recent hearing, the Supreme Court questioned the Centre’s continued delay in framing a comprehensive legal framework for digital assets. The case at hand involved a crypto fraud, but the judges seized the moment to make a broader point: the absence of regulation is no longer just an oversight—it’s a threat.
A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh made these remarks while hearing the bail plea of Shailesh Babulal Bhatt, who is accused of orchestrating a cryptocurrency scam. Although the plea focused on bail, the conversation quickly turned toward the larger issue of policy paralysis in the face of a rapidly growing and increasingly misused technology.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Cast: Meet the Stars of India's Longest-Running Sitcom

"Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" (TMKOC) has become a household name in India since it first aired in 2008. Based on the column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma by Taarak Mehta, this family-friendly sitcom has entertained generations with its light-hearted humor and moral lessons. One of the key reasons behind its lasting success is its beloved cast. Let’s take a closer look at the iconic characters and the actors who portray them.
1. Dilip Joshi as Jethalal Champaklal Gada
Arguably the most famous character of the show, Jethalal is a comical electronics shop owner from Gujarat. Dilip Joshi's impeccable comic timing and expressions have made him a fan favorite. His interactions with Babita ji and frequent troubles with his father Champaklal provide endless laughs.
2. Amit Bhatt as Champaklal Gada
Jethalal’s father, Champaklal, is the voice of wisdom in the Gada family. Despite being younger than Dilip Joshi in real life, Amit Bhatt has convincingly portrayed the elder’s role with grace and humor.
3. Shailesh Lodha (Former) and Sachin Shroff as Taarak Mehta
The titular character, originally played by Shailesh Lodha, acted as Jethalal’s best friend and advisor. Currently, Sachin Shroff has taken over the role and continues to guide the Gokuldham society with his poetic outlook on life.
4. Munmun Dutta as Babita Iyer
Stylish and intelligent, Babita is the heartthrob of Jethalal and the loving wife of scientist Krishnan Iyer. Munmun Dutta’s portrayal adds glamor and charm to the show.
5. Tanuj Mahashabde as Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer
The Tamilian scientist with a strong personality, Iyer is often caught in hilarious exchanges with Jethalal due to their shared admiration (or rivalry) over Babita ji.
6. Kush Shah as Goli Hansraj Hathi
Goli is the fun-loving, foodie son of Dr. Hathi and Komal Hathi. Kush Shah, who plays Goli, has grown up with the show and is one of the original child artists still continuing in the series. For more details about his life, career, and journey on the show, check out the full Kush Shah biography.
7. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal as Roshan Sodhi
The sweet and loving Roshan bhabhi from Punjab is known for her loud yet warm personality. Her interactions with her energetic husband Sodhi create many hilarious moments.
8. Gurucharan Singh (Former) / Balvinder Singh Suri as Roshan Singh Sodhi
Sodhi is the life of any party – loud, expressive, and fiercely loyal. Though originally played by Gurucharan Singh, the role is now portrayed by Balvinder Singh Suri.
9. Mandar Chandwadkar as Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide
Bhide is the self-proclaimed 'one and only secretary' of Gokuldham society. A schoolteacher by profession, his obsession with discipline and his interactions with Jethalal are comedic gold.
10. Sonalika Joshi as Madhavi Bhide
Madhavi is Bhide’s entrepreneurial wife who runs a pickles and papad business from home. Her calm yet firm demeanor balances Bhide's anxiety perfectly.
11. Tapu Sena
This gang of kids – Tapu, Goli, Gogi, Pinku, and Sonu – forms the mischief-making backbone of the show’s younger cast. Over the years, members of Tapu Sena have grown up on screen, becoming fan favorites themselves.
Final Thoughts
The cast of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not just an ensemble of actors, but a family for many viewers. With their relatable characters and genuine chemistry, they have created a sitcom that feels like home. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a new viewer, the magic of Gokuldham society continues to charm India and beyond.

This development was formally communicated to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The announcement heralds the establishment of Scorpius Trackers Inc. as a Delaware-based entity, with strategic plans to penetrate the vast and rapidly growing U.S. solar tracker market.
Scorpius Trackers, a subsidiary of Gensol Engineering Ltd., has carved out a reputation for its innovative solar tracking solutions across various global markets, including India, Africa, Japan, and the Middle East. The company’s latest venture into the U.S. market represents a strategic effort to leverage the enormous potential of the world’s largest solar tracker market, which deploys more than 25,000 MW of trackers annually and continues to grow at a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 20%.
The newly formed Scorpius Trackers Inc. will make its debut at the prestigious RE+ Conference in Anaheim, California, from September 9 to 12, 2024. This launch event will be followed by additional showcases in Austin and San Diego, underscoring the company’s commitment to establishing a strong foothold in the U.S. renewable energy landscape. The first U.S. office for Scorpius Trackers will be strategically located in California, a state renowned for its dynamic renewable energy market and its role as a global leader in solar power adoption.
The U.S. expansion is part of Scorpius Trackers’ broader vision to supply over 2,000 MW annually by 2028. This ambitious target is grounded in the company’s decade-long experience and its impressive track record of more than 1,000 MW in contracted orders across key markets. The advanced technology offered by Scorpius Trackers, designed for optimal performance on both flat and undulating terrains, is expected to be a key driver of growth in the U.S. market. Additionally, the company’s competitive pricing strategy will further enhance its appeal to U.S. utility-scale solar projects.
Anmol Singh Jaggi, Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm about the U.S. expansion, describing it as a pivotal step in the company’s global strategy. He highlighted the importance of the U.S. market in the global solar tracker industry and emphasized how this move aligns perfectly with Gensol’s vision to deliver high-tech, India-designed, and India-made products to the world. (India), will bring his extensive experience and expertise to the U.S. market, ensuring that the company delivers cutting-edge, reliable, and cost-effective solutions tailored to the unique needs of U.S. utility-scale solar plants.
The founding of Scorpius Trackers in 2012 marked the beginning of its rapid ascent in the solar tracking industry. Known for its proactive, end-to-end single-axis solar tracking solutions, the company has gained recognition for its globally patented technology and successful installations across Japan, the Middle East, India, and Africa. The acquisition of Scorpius Trackers by Gensol Engineering Limited in 2023 further solidified its market position, enhancing its capabilities through a history of successful collaborations on diverse solar projects worldwide.
As part of its commitment to transparency and compliance, Gensol Engineering Limited provided all necessary details related to the incorporation of Scorpius Trackers Inc. in the U.S., as required by the SEBI Listing Regulations. The newly incorporated company, established on July 22, 2024, will operate with an authorized share capital of $20,000. The initial shareholding in Scorpius Trackers Inc. is wholly owned by Gensol Engineering Limited, marking its full control over the new subsidiary.
