A few days ago Suusamyr valley under the clouds, view from Too-Ashuu pass🤩 The Suusamyr Valley is not one of the most famous places in Kyrgyzstan, but it is definitely worth knowing about it. Located on the road between Osh and Bishkek, Suusamyr is located at the end of a large tunnel through Too-Ashuu, at an altitude of about 2,200 meters above sea level. The valley is pretty wide with grassy plains. Suusamyr grasses are especially juicy in summer, so many shepherds come here to graze livestock in summer pastures (jailoo). Here, on the side of the roads, they sell delicious ayran, honey and koumiss. Some believe that it is in Suusamyr that one can taste the best kumis in the country. The village of the same name is located on the eastern edge of the Suusamyr valley. The gorge of the same name is located 5 km south of the largest city of the Issyk-Kul region, Karakol. The gorge-canyon is up to 40 km long and adjoins the Terskey Ala-Too ridge. In the upper part of the gorge in the warm season there is a mountaineering camp. The peaks most often climbed are Dzhigit Peak (5130 m), Karakol Peak (5281 m), Przhevalsky Peak (4283 m), Zhukov Peak (4450 m), Telman Peak (4460 m), Dimitrov Peak (4450 m) ), Fucik Peak (4210 m), Gastello Peak (4350 m). On the slopes of the Karakol gorge, sea buckthorn, barberry, wild rose, mountain flowers and, of course, dense meadow grass grow. With increasing height, they are replaced by spruce and juniper forests, and subalpine and alpine landscapes complete the composition. The fauna of the gorge is also interesting: ibex, roe deer, lynx, wild boar, snow leopards, wolves, bears, golden eagles live here.
