clipping + conjurer + container was amazing, my feet are in pain and my neck hurts but my heart is warm

crowd was a weird collection of demos, 2/5 trannies of various stripes, 1/5 noise bros, 1/5 rate your music type music enjoyers, 1/5 punk-adjacents; the combination of which didn't produce the most mobile crowd cause music bros don't dance, but I still managed to dance myself drenched

basically missed containers set but what I caught was some really cool rhythmic crunchy noise, conjurer were sick, big skramz vibes and their guitarist was doing the hair windmill the entire time, epic walls of sound were created, skramz were skrum, heads were banged, the sound was excellent, went hard

clipping truly blew my mind tho... visuals were totally crazy and made me wanna make some new visuals too, daveed diggs has unparalleled charisma and skill, the man does not seem to need oxygen, the live production was crazy, every song was transmogrified to the hilt, the bass felt like bricks even tho the sound system didn't have a crazy sub or anything it was pure energy, all the noise felt super fresh, tracklist was perfect also

Hmm, there is something more grim-dark about the lore of Age of Sigmar 3e. The Dawnbringer Crusades gives me a waddling dirty peasant vibe, something you’d see from Warhammer Fantasy. This, to me, is kind of a step back and away. GW can do whatever they want with their own property, of course, and me being an easy to please idiot I’ll probably enjoy it, but the thing I truly love about Age of Sigmar- the thing that makes me love it more than 40k and Fantasy, is that it wasn’t that grim/shit dark, and it had a huge sense of hope to it. The Stormcasts cast back the darkness of Chaos, the Cities of Sigmar stand as a bastion of Order to the wilderness of the realms. Now, the vibe I’m getting from the Dawnbringer crusades is ragtag groups of fanatics getting themselves killed by the droves for religious extremism and manifest destiny. To me, that’s what we got 40k for. Age of Sigmar, as I’ve loved it, has been about huge godly dramas between Demi-gods, monsters, and the lords of creation. While of course you have to have some religious extremism in there, what with Nagash being one of those said gods, and people just being as people are- I liked that it was only a small fraction of what the Cities of Sigmar had to offer. As far as I’ve read, the Crusades brings that to the forefront, and it’s a vibe I can easily get into in other Warhammers. AoS, I want more. I want something godly. Kragnos being a major villain of this edition helps- but I barely know the dude. Maybe I’ll like it more with the release of the Orruk battletome.

Hell, I’ll probably like it more when the Cities get their next update, or the Dawnbringers get their own battletome. Knowing me, I’ll lap up the new models like a fiend and be a happy duck. For now, though, I’ll be a little skeptical about the direction the narrative is heading.

The rules and the game, however, are a different story! I love this edition’s gameplay. I usually go in to a tabletop game, have my fun, then come out of it. With 3e, I keep thinking about it! I keep thinking about how I’ll build and play, and even paint. PAINT! I have never wanted to paint once or ever, and this edition honest to god, has me wanting to paint. Isn’t that wild? If you like AoS and haven’t played 3e yet, it’s about the same, but just a touch faster. Squads are smaller, the board is slightly smaller, and that serves to get stuck in and in the SKRUM of it. Me, my wife, and a buddy of mine played three games last weekend and each one was some of the most brutal games of Age I’ve ever seen. Quick and deadly! That’s how I dig it.
