Since Cooking Companions and now Dread Weight pull from Slavic Mythology.
With their inclusion of the Baba Yaga.
I wondered if any of our new characters in Dread Weight carried any similarities.
Their is definitely something up with Kurt.
Why would the Baba Yaga want him specifically dead.
If it was just another mass murder like she's done before I wouldn't question it.
But it's made clear over and over that everyone else in the mansion would be spared if Kurt was handed over to her.
There's also the the spirits, Maximillion the Duck who says he'd love to leave but because Kurt won't allow him too.
I saw a comment on Superhorrorbro's playthrough of the demo that wondered if Kurt could be Koschei the deathless.
So I chose that as my starting point.
The first thing that pops out to me is the involvement of not only the Baba Yaga in this tale but a Prince called Ivan.
Ivan being the name of the person Potato mentions at the beginning of the game.
"We need to repay him for Ivan."
The him being presumably Kurt.
There's also the note which reads:
Dearest (the name is smudged out)
I know your still upset about Ivan.
I'm asking the impossible, but please forgive me and let's end this madness.
We're different. To lose track of time.
To let feuds rot inside of us, undying, while the rest of the world moves on.
This isn't healthy. It took me ages to unlearn this.
I am asking you, PLEASE let this one die.
- Sincerely,
-(the name is illegible)"
So there's a mysterious person called Ivan, something happened to him that we want repayment for.
We're upset about what happened and someone is telling us to forgive them.
And we know this person is Kurt.
Because it's his mansion the Baba Yaga ends up attacking.
The story of Koschei the Deathless comes from a Russian fairytale in which Koshei, an immortal man who had a habit of kidnapping young girls.
He's known as the Deathless because he stores his soul inside of a needle which in turn is stored into an egg.
Which fair, some people store their soul in an animatronic suite and than upload their digital consciousness into it's circuit boards.
And divide that into several tapes several tapes.
You do you.
Though the egg is stored inside of a duck.
And wouldn't you know it, Kurt keeps a duck around in the mansion.
And being the container of his immortal soul sounds like one hell of a reason as to why Maximillion isn't allowed to leave the place.
Though in the story it's a lot more complicated with duck being hidden inside of a hare, who's in turn inside a chest which is buried under a tree etc.
But it could be why a duck and a rabbit are specifically the animals in the mansion.
Much like how Baba Yaga in Slavic Mythology has a cabin on chicken legs.
And under the floor boards of the cabin you can find chicken bones.
It's said if the egg was destroyed the duck would fly free, which is what Maximillion wants.
The story of Koschei the deathless tells the tale of a Prince called Ivan who stumbles upon a fuck ton of bodies, from Koschei's army in the woods.
Finding out Koschei himself had been captured by the warrior queen Maria Moreenva.
Who Ivan later meets, falls in love with and marries. Though when it came for the warrior queen to go to war she showed Ivan a door to a locked closet and warned him not to open it.
Im sure we can all guess what comes next.
Inside the closet is an old man, chained and begging for water.
Feeling pity for the old man, Ivan gives him water and to no ones suprise the man turns out to be Koschei.
Now having regained his strength from the water, he breaks his chains and kidnaps Ivan.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Way to go smart guy.
His wife finds out and after probably giving the worlds biggest face-palm goes to recur her husband.
However, Koschei was prepared for this and ambushed her, cutting her into pieces.
But it's all good!
Apparently she had 3 shape-shifting brothers who came to her aid as a falcon, a Raven and an eagle. Sprinkling some good ol life water on her, Queen Maria was back.
Knowing Koschei was too fast to catch up too, she went to person who had the fastest horse.
The Baba Yaga.
Who gave her a sickly looking horse but the more Maria rode it it became stronger. And she eventually caught up to Koschei.
Maria nabbed her hubby back and took off with Koschei following her.
Until Koschei's horse hit a rock, Koschei fell off and Maria used the opportunity to impale and set him on fire.
Queen Maria, do not fuck with her.
And they live happily ever after.
Moral of the story, listen to your wife.
Although with all myths their are different iterations.
And this is no exception.
One that caught my eye was one in which instead of kidnapping Ivan, Koschei decides to get revenge on his captor Queen Maria.
With Ivan the one who goes on a mission to rescue her.
He escapes with her twice but is overcome by Koschei on his much faster horse.
Ivan tries to fight against him but the other is far too powerful, resulting in Ivan being cut down, put in a barrel and set out to sea.
However, Ivan is able to cheat death with the aid of his sisters who had all married powerful sorcerers.
They located him, Ivan managed to get Baba Yaga's horse. And defeated him.
Some with him impalong him, others have him dying by the horse kicking him in the head.
Before he's properly burned.
.
And so I wonder if in Dread Weight, we have a case where Ivan wasn't or couldn't be revived.
It definitely seems like he is dead in the game.
And Kurt, if he is Koschei and the one to kill him than much like what happens to the Baba Yaga, he begins to grow soft.
He starts to feel remorse for his actions.
He writes a note and asks for forgiveness, that they are both immortal and cannot spend their lives like this.
Kurt being Koschei explains why despite being immortal and having his whole soul in a needle, egg, duck etc why he is afraid of the Baba Yaga.
Because if there's one thing Koschei despises it is the idea of his own death and he knows if anyone can kill him it's the Baba Yaga.
Even without her having his soul.
... Though that is definitely something to worry about.
Though there's definitely not enough evidence for this I think it's a cool idea.
Because Koschei or not there's definitely something up with Kurt.
.
.
The info for this for anyone curious came from the video the Death of Koschei the Deathless on The Folktale Project's YouTube channel,
And the video Koschei the Deathless | Russia's evil sorcerer from the YouTube channel Mythology Unleashed.

Renault Kwid Price vs Maruti Suzuki Alto Price – Which Car Delivers More Value?
Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki Alto represent the new generation of compact cars. They are performant, stylish, and popular due to their economic advantage. However, when it comes to choosing between the two, which one proves a better choice? If you’ve been confronted with such a dilemma, you’ve reached the right place. This blog answers this question with Renault Kwid Price vs Maruti Suzuki Alto Price comparison.
Note: Features may vary with the variant chosen.
Renault Kwid Features

SUV-styled headlamps
LED digital instrument cluster

4-way adjustable front seats
Remote keyless entry
Optimized cabin storage

Maruti Suzuki Alto Features
Maruti Suzuki is another popular compact car in India. While having some incredible features and offerings, it carries the legacy of the leading Indian automobile carmaker – Maruti. However, what also makes Maruti Suzuki Alto an amazing vehicle includes,

The vehicle also has a few safety features that include dual airbags, smart reverse parking sensors, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, ABS with EBD for improved safety, speed alert system, and rear door child lock.
Renault Kwid Price vs Maruti Suzuki Alto Price
Knowing the price of both these vehicles can prove decisive. Renault Kwid price with all its features and offerings starts at Rs. 4.69 lakhs* (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, with its feature and safety proposition, Maruti Suzuki Alto price starts at Rs. 3.54 lakhs* (ex-showroom Delhi). Part: 1 I 2 I 3
**
Dozens of papers were scattered all over the floor. Anyone would have glanced at the chaos and assumed there was no order to it. But there was a reason to the rhyme. You could reach out and pluck up the exact file you were looking for without having to search too long. The fact that you were the only one who understood the order was fine by you. They were all spread out in a semi-circle within easy distance. A worn-out notebook balanced on your knee. The pencil between your fingers bounced up and down in a blur as your eyes scanned over your notes. Scribbles and half-words covered almost the entire space, cutting across the blue lines diagonally and filling in the margins like your own secret code. There were still too many missing pieces, too many avenues to explore. You’re inexperience was getting in your own way.
With a sigh hanging in the air, you leaned back to lie on the floor. You looked over at the digital green numbers glowing from the clock on the stove. The day was slowly shifting into night. To your left, purples and oranges mixed in the clouds out the window in a way that only nature could. Those two colors anywhere else would have been gaudy, but in the sky, they were breathtaking. But they also weren’t the sight you wanted at the moment.
You knew Kris was currently meeting up with his friend, Tao, so you weren’t worried for him – merely anxious for him to get home. The day didn’t sit quite right if you went to bed before seeing his smile. You didn’t know much about the younger man, only that he was in the same orphanage as Kris growing up and his past was just as mysterious. But he made Kris happy, lighter in a way that you weren’t able to. Perhaps it was due to their shared history. It didn’t keep the twinge of jealous away, but you’d learned to manage it. As long as Kris had someone to talk to ab-
Click.
The soft noise made you sit up. It was the kind you were too used to hearing. Kris would often try to sneak in through the front door so you wouldn’t get distracted in the middle of studying. His well-meaning intention did the opposite, making you more in tuned to the sound. Standing to your feet, you shuffled through the living room towards the door. “Kris?” Nothing. You called out again.
Gloved hands reached out from the kitchen entrance and pulled you back. Your mouth was covered by the protective nylon, preventing you from screaming out for help, but you could still kick and flail. Whoever had a hold of you must not have been prepared for the fight back. Or you were simply able to hit just the right spot to make his grip loosen enough for you to get away. In a quick glance, you saw a total of three armored men in your apartment. The odds of you making it away were slim. That didn’t mean you weren’t going to try.
You ran for the living room. All three were right behind you. The advantage was yours, however, since you knew the layout and the arrangement of the furniture. Jumping over the couch that separated the living room and dining area, you headed for the bookshelf. Not knowing where the instinct came from, you tipped the shelf over. The heavy wood landed with a hard thud, vibrating the floor and rattling the glassware that was drying in the sink. It did its job, though, and covered the papers that were spread out on the floor. If men were coming to kidnap you, there was a very real possibility that your research could be the reason why. You never were able to keep your nose out of things. The sudden furniture in the middle of the floor was enough to stop the men in their tracks and give you time to run for the window. Your nervous fingers fumbled with the lock, but the sides were sticking. The window didn’t fly open to let you out onto the fire escape. It had only managed to crack open a few inches when you were yanked backwards. The hands that had grabbed you tossed you through the air. You landed on your back on the glass coffee table, shattering the panel that held your mug and textbooks. The wooden cross legs in the middle cradled your fall and kept you from rolling in the shards that now covered the rug. You groaned and whimpered from the pain as the men stood around you. They covered their faces with cloth before one held up a black aerosol can and sprayed a white mist into your face. You fought hard to hold your breath and not let the chemical into your lungs, but too soon your will gave out. One deep breath was all it took and you were out.
**
Kris kept his head down as he hurried through the streets. The hood kept most of his face covered, but he still couldn’t risk being seen by any cameras nearby. From his time undercover at EXO, he knew they had no qualms about breaking the law and hacking any security footage that might benefit them. The bus ride had been long, but this had to be the place where he started; back at the beginning. His stomach churned the closer his feet took him. Memories danced around in his head, taunting him. Now that you were gone, taken by the very past he was trying to outrun, the parts of himself that he’d been able to repress were coming back with a vengeance.
The old headquarters of EXO was now nothing more than a pile of rubble. Bits of wall still stood here and there, covered in weeds and leaves, surrounded by a mix of dirt and glass. The people around here had wanted the remains emptied out and the lot flattened, but EXO refused and they couldn’t be forced to do so. Stepping over the knee-high rod iron fence, Kris checked his surroundings once again before venturing in deeper. As far as he was aware, there wasn’t too much monitoring of the area, though that didn’t mean it was nonexistent. He knew very well that he might have tripped some sort of motion sensor, alerting the rebranded company to an unauthorized presence on their property. If he hadn’t already been spotted then he should have time to search before anyone else showed up. Getting captured himself was certainly not the answer to getting you back. As long as he kept his face from being seen, he should have an advantage.
Careful with every step he took, he glanced sparingly around the area. However, the one place he should have been looking was near his own feet. An old cracked pipe covered in red-brown rust laid sneakily in the overgrown grass that had managed to break through the concrete floor. Kris hit the ground hard on his knees, palms scraping against the rough surface. Shaking the pain from his hands, he hissed as he inspected the damage. It took less than a minute for the skin to knit itself back together until only dirt and rocks the size a pinhead remained.
“You need to be careful.”
Kris’ head snapped up, whirling around to find the source of the voice that was so close to yours. But there was no one in the vicinity. Not even a kid on a skateboard or old woman walking her dogs. Of course. It was a memory. One of many where you almost discovered his secret.
“I’ll be fine,” Kris had scoffed with a roll of his eyes. The two of you had escaped for the day to a small lake about an hour out of town. The sun was lowering in the sky, stars that you couldn’t see in the city making a rare appearance. A small fire danced and flickered while the two of you skewered marshmallows onto metal kebab rods. You were being the smart one and wrapping a cloth on the end as you held it over the blaze. Kris, preferring it a little more on the burnt side while also being a tad lazy, simply set the marshmallow into the fire and let it sit there while he fixed the blankets a few feet away.
“I wish we could do this all the time,” you sighed, bobbing the stick up and down to keep it out of the flames. Wind ruffled the hem of your flannel shirt. Actually, it might have been one of Kris’ shirts that you commandeered. Not that he would ever complain.
“If you want to come out here more often, just say the word.” There was nothing that he would deny you – except for the truth about himself.
You shook your head. “No, because then I’ll never want to leave.”
Coming up behind you, Kris wrapped his arms around your shoulders. He rested his chin near the crook of your neck and took in the scent of you mixed with the smoke that drifted through the air. He wished that the two of you could stay out here as well – hide out in the woods where no one could find you and you would always be safe. Time would no longer exist out here. Only the sun would indicate the passage of the days. Nothing was more free than space and isolation. Perhaps he could build a cabin, a simple, humble home big enough for the two of you and anyone else who might come along.
A giggle interrupted the romantic moment. “Your marshmallow is burning.”
Cursing, Kris jumped towards the fire and pulled the rod out. Big mistake. The heat from the fire had transferred all the way up the metal, burning his hand. Kris dropped the rod in the dirt as he cried out from the burning of his palm. You put your own stick to the side as you reached for his hand. “Are you okay?”
Kris kept his hand squeezed tight. The pain from his throbbing skin made him want to hiss and scream, but he held it in. “I’m fine.”
“Let me see it.” You tried to pry open his fingers, but he fought against you. “Kris, seriously, you might be seriously burnt.”
“It’s not that bad.” He just needed a few seconds more….
You looked up at him with pleading eyes. “Kris, please.”
He gave in. Letting you open up his hand, he waited and hoped. He barely held back the sigh of relief when he uncurled his fingers. While his hand was still a little red, there was no sign of the previous injury. You relaxed into your own sense of relief was well. “I guess you didn’t have ahold of it that long. That’s good.” You looked over at the ruined s’more lying in the sand. “I guess you’ll have to start over. But, please, this time use a bandana or something.”
He smiled broadly at you and kissed your cheek. “I will.”
What he wouldn’t give to go back to that moment, to that time. He’d grant your wish and never leave that little spot off the lake where the water calmly splashed up on the shore, the pale sand felt soft against bare feet and the trees sang in the wind. It wasn’t the last time you came close to witnessing what his altered body was capable of. Kris had told himself that he would be more careful, more aware, but that was an empty promise. The fact that you were still in the dark was a miracle.
No, you were probably no longer oblivious to his otherness. As soon as you were able to, you would have been demanding answers. He wouldn’t put it past the scientists to spill every little secret, to turn you against him and make him even more vulnerable and pliable to their wishes. He just hoped that you would continue to trust him, to give him the benefit of the doubt and let him plead his own case to you.
The phone in his pocket vibrated. Frowning, Kris pulled it out with every intention of turning it off. But seeing Chanyeol’s name pop up made him hesitate. He shouldn’t answer. He should let it go to voicemail and call back later. He hit the green button. “Hello?”
“Hey, Kris!” Chanyeol’s voice was just as upbeat and joyful as ever.
“What is it, Chanyeol?” He didn’t mean to be short, but he couldn’t bring himself to fake cheerfulness right now.
The younger male could sense his enthusiasm was not being reciprocated. “Um, I know this might be sudden, but I was wondering if I could come visit for a few days? I have something I want to talk to you about and-”
“I can’t. I’m not home.”
“Oh.” Chanyeol’s voice was lower, gone was the earlier excitement. “Okay. When do you get back? Maybe-”
“I don’t know. I can’t do this right now.”
He hung up before he could feel anymore guilt. A few days ago, he would have gladly invited Chanyeol to come stay with him. The two of them were somewhat close, the other’s positive energy being infectious no matter how tired one was. You would have loved him.
Turning his phone off, Kris shoved the device back in his pocket and stood up to his feet. He kept going deeper into the rubble until he came to the spot he was looking for. Wiping away the years of growth, he found the inconspicuous hide away hole. He opened the flap to reveal a metal bar. One turn at forty-five degrees and he was able to open the rounded door in the ground. It was dark, to the point that Kris could barely make out the floor of the hidden room. From his bag, he pulled out a flash light and dropped down. His heart sank.
This was once a secret storage room, cabinets lining nearly every inch of the walls. And they were empty. Drawers hanging open or thrown to the floor like the secrets they held were taken in a hurry. When they had blown this place up years ago, Kris had assumed that this room had been destroyed as well. But it was still intact from he could tell.
They could have taken the files to Moo San’s mansion, he told himself. But a sinking feeling told him that wasn’t the case. They were all so convinced that they’d ended it that day; that all the information EXO had on the experiments they conducted, everything pertaining to them, had been destroyed in the fire. As the years went by, that conclusion began fact. But this empty room was telling him that they were wrong. He couldn’t know for sure, but a sinking feeling told him RS had at least part of the information. Were they looking for more? Was that why they took you? To see what you knew?
Turning off the flashlight, Kris climbed back up the hole, swiped up his bag and stalked away from the scene.
A few blocks away sat the community library. Cash on hand to pay for the minutes, Kris signed in under a fake name, giving a story to the librarian about how he’d lost his card but really needed to use the computer. She reluctantly gave him a guest sign in and pointed to the lab. Sitting as far away from the others in the room as possible, Kris opened up a search engine and typed in Regeneration Science. While he knew some things about the organization and their ties to EXO, he needed more. Expect it didn’t exist to the rest of the world. The only results were those of other labs trying to recreate in mammals the cell regeneration that reptiles possessed to someday use on humans. Okay, then. New tactic.
He typed in EXO Applied Sciences and scrolled through the old news stories about the fires, chuckling to himself as he passed a few forums discussing possible conspiracies behind the incidents. Then he found what he was looking for. The cut and paste website of the company. He searched through the different tabs, bypassing the flourishes of why the company was so great and what wonderful things they were doing for humanity. On the last page he found the list of individuals who owned parts of the company and the directors on the board. None of the names sounded familiar. Even some of the companies that sat as shareholders sounded foreign to him. Frustrated that the answer wasn’t popping out at him, he printed the list of owners along with prominent doctors that headed the different departments – none of which he’d ever interacted with in his time as a prisoner.
Exhausted, he made it back to the dingy motel. Collapsing on the edge of the bed, he pulled your charm that now hung from a red string out from underneath his shirt. The small bird sat in his palm. He told himself that he should have never met you, that you would have been better off never having met him. But he was selfish. He cherished the memories the two of you had created to ever completely regret it. He needed to get you back.
But he couldn’t do this on his own.
Pulling out his phone, he turned it back on. A little prayer went through his thoughts, a prayer that his brother would answer. After the short conversation that had occurred half an hour ago, Kris wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t answer. As the phone rang in his ear, he held his breath and hoped that he wasn’t on the verge of shattering more worlds than his own.
**
You weren’t sure how long you’d been awake. It had been a slow process, opening your eyes and taking in your foreign surroundings. The room was blindingly white, minimal furniture that wasn’t anywhere close to comfortable. Every wall was pure concrete giving you no indication of where you might be. Your muscles were sore. Each movement made your muscles groan as if they’d aged seventy years overnight. You had to take your time getting up off the thin mattress. The metal bedframe creaked from your shifting weight. Still dressed in your pajama shorts and cardigan, you shivered at the constant cold breeze that ran through the room though there didn’t seem to be a vent in sight. The only way out was a door on the far end of the room. A narrow, rectangular window about eye level rested slightly off to the size. At least that would be useful.
Your bare feet hit the tile floor, shooting another shiver up your spine. The slap of each step echoed around the room. Now that you were up and moving around, the room seemed much smaller than you initially thought. Peering out the window, you craned your neck to see as far down the hallway you could manage. In a single file line, strange looking men in equally odd clothing marched down the hall. While you couldn’t see all of their faces, you could have sworn some of them had two different colored eyes. Behind them, a woman dressed in regular clothes walked into view, nervousness written all over her face. She glanced over at you momentarily and frowned. A muffled shout caused her to flinch and she hurried to catch back up with the group.
A new man’s face appeared in the window. You jumped back at the sudden surprise, holding your breath as the door slid open. The man stepped inside. On his face sat a malevolent grin. Before you could open your mouth to demand answers, he beat you to the punch.
“You are currently being held in the underground facility of Regeneration Science, an extension of EXO Applied Sciences and Technologies. I am Dr. Brandt, head of the… experiments we perform down here.”
You frowned. EXO was a name you knew. The company had been in the news several years ago. Both their main headquarters and the owner’s mansion had burned down a few months apart, the owner dying in the latter tragedy. After that, nothing too special happened with them besides the occasional upgrade or technological breakthrough to make everyone’s lives easier on a daily basis. They were also one of the top medicinal companies in the world, only a few others standing in their way of being number one. They often came up in class, the two fires heatedly debated amongst your classmates. The conspiracy that the company set burned the buildings down themselves had never really died out, many thinking they were covering up something sinister. You’d never thought anything of it before. Now, though…
But you couldn’t figure out what any of that had to do with you. None of the projects you’d been researching had anything to do with EXO.
“What do you want with me?” The horrific thought that you were now going to become one of their experiments flashed through your mind. They couldn’t do that, force you to be exposed to whatever new drug or weapon they were working on.
Dr. Brandt smirked. “For you to sit tight right here and be a good girl.”
You scoffed. “You expect me to just go along with that?”
“Yes, I do,” he replied confidently. Hands behind his back, he took several steps toward you. Personal space was apparently not something he respected. “Especially if you want Kris to remain unharmed.”
You pounced. Hands twisted in the lab coat he wore, you pulled and shoved, your blood boiling under your skin. “What did you do to him?! Where is he?!” The door to the room slid open again as two guards ran into the room and pulled you away. They held on to your arms to keep you from attacking again. “I swear, if you’ve hurt him-”
“We haven’t touched a single hair on his head,” Dr. Brandt interrupted as he fixed his coat. “He was the one we were after last night, but he’s exceptionally difficult to track down. So my men went with plan b, which was to bring you in and, hopefully, lead Kris to turn himself in voluntarily.”
“What do you want with Kris?”
Dr. Brandt narrowed his eyes. “He hasn’t told you, has he?”
You swallowed. “Told me what?”
He laughed. “I’m not sure if that was noble or stupid. However, I am more than willing to fill in those particular details for you, if you so wish.” He raised an eyebrow, waiting for your answer.
There was no telling if you could trust a single word coming from this man’s mouth. For all you knew, he had nothing to do with EXO, this Regeneration Science didn’t exist, and he was playing you for a fool by dangling Kris in front of you. But you couldn’t deny the possibly poisoned candy. Kris had a mysterious past, you’d been aware of it since you first met. Sometimes, his stories or explanations didn’t add up. You knew he kept secrets. Those mysteries had been impossible not to investigate. So, you gave in.
“Tell me what you know.”

Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle and Kia Carnival SX: Minivans are BACK Part 2
Words and Photos By Michael Hozjan
Kia Carnival SX:
Take a look at the remaining players in the minivan market; you’ve got the Toyota Sienna, Honda’s Odyssey, Chrysler’s Grand Caravan and last week’s subject, the Pacifica. On the surface they all look fairly alike. Sure there might be an accent line here or there in an attempt to differentiate them, but squint your eyes and the tapered nose and the silhouettes are similar - cute and soft. Chrysler changed the front-end treatment on this year’s Pacifica to give it a more rugged look with an SUV-like grille.
Tumblr media
Now take a look at Kia’s latest venture. In the last couple of years Kia’s designers have knocked more than one model out of the ballpark and this year they’ve added muscular looks to a minivan. Yes Kia refers to it as an MPV for multi-purpose vehicle (how they’re getting away with using Mazda’s old moniker I have no idea). I’m pretty sure that you won’t think soccer mom when you see the Carnival. With large 19” blacked out aluminum wheels, a long square snout highlighted by lights fading into the chrome grill and aggressive looking vents on the front corners, this thing screams business.
Dollars
While design may or may not make or break a sale it is a major influence in the final decision, but the Carnival has another ace up its sleeve and that is its price.
Over the years I’ve repeatedly stated that Kias offer more bang for the buck and the Carnival is no exception. The base model, the LX, starts out at $36,760 and my top of the line tester came in at $50,560. Compare that to the base Pacifica at $45,765 and the Pinnacle at $63,265 or Toyota’s Sienna LE front wheel drive at $42,349 and the all-wheel-drive Limited at $60,824 and Honda’s base Odyssey at $45,590 and their top dog the touring at $56,790 and the Kia looks sweeter and sweeter.
Tumblr media
Five trim levels make up the Carnival line up; LX, LX+, EX, EX+ and SX. The base model gives you a heated windshield, rear parking sensors as well as advanced forward collision avoidance and lane follow. Stepping up to the LX+ ($40,260) add wireless phone charging, power sliding doors and liftgate, smart key and multi-zone climate controls.  The $44 grand EX adds a couple more driver assists, LED taillights and 19” wheels, plus a smartphone app that allows you to remotely start, lock, unlock the truck. At $47,560 the EX+ gives you a 12.3” multimedia screen, like size digital instrument cluster a surround view monitor as well as LED head and fog lights. The king of the line up, the $50,560 SX, comes with dual sunroofs, Bose premium audio system, leather seating passenger view monitor.
And Sense
We obviously buy minivans to move people and cargo and this is where the two subjects get interesting. Starting at the back I was surprised to learn that the Kia has the upper hand in space with the third row in place, 40.2 cu.ft. to the Pacifica’s 32.3 cu.ft. My girlfriend loved the Pacifica’s clean deep well behind the third row to keep the groceries in place. The Kia’s looked too industrial with its exposed hinges.
Tumblr media
Accessing the third row is best done if you slide the second row lounge chairs inboard. Yes you read that right, not only do they move from front to back but also left to right.
Tumblr media
Folding the third row is a snap with the Chrysler with switches mounted on the back pillar to activate the various motors, the Kia takes some manual force – but will not break down. With the rear seats folded into their respective cubbyholes, the Kia stows 86.9 cu.ft. of gear to the Pacifica’s 87.5. My Kia came with the fabulous, executive alluring, lounge chairs. Yes they are every bit as comfortable as they look.  While they add credence to the company limo I was talking about last week, they do not fold out of the way. So storage is confined to that same old 86.9 cu.ft. While the Pinnacle does not have second row stow and go seats, (lesser Pacificas do) the second row does fold up against the front buckets and can be removed – heavy as they are – to give you enough room to carry a 4x8 foot sheet of plywood in the 165 cu.ft. cargo bay. Like the Pacifica the lesser trim levels of the Carnival (the LX through to EX+) have removable second row seats expanding the cargo volume to 168 cu.ft.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and sunshades for the back rows make this a desirable cabin whether you’re shuttling your clients to the airport or moving the in-laws back home. If you’re counting, there are nine USB ports dotting the cabin and there's a handy 12-volt outlet in the rear.
Tumblr media
Above: Second row lounge chairs slide in for easier access to third row or or out to carry longer items.
Behind the wheel
The front buckets are comfortable and not only look, but feel like they came out of a sports sedan with excellent bolstering on the seat backs. Adding to the cockpit’s comfort is the center console’s wide armrest incorporating drink cubbies and a wireless charging tray,
Tumblr media
A modern looking dash is a change from the usual fluff and the infotainment centre looks spectacular, but the audio system works backwards in all of my recent Kia encounters. Example; going up the sat radio stations from 6 to say 18 you’d think you would have to press the steering wheel nub up, but no, you have to go down?!? What bicycle riding genius thought of this! Worse yet, the audio system does not let you tailor the order to your taste but numerically. You say you’ll get used to it…I shouldn’t have to. It’s called intuitive touch. Ok I’ve vented.
Tumblr media
The Carnival comes with one power package, a class leading 3.5L, 290 horsepower, V6 with 262 lb.-ft. of torque connected to a smooth shifting non-CVT, 8-speed automatic that can tow 3,500 lbs. Unfortunately there’s no all-wheel-drive package available - yet. While you won’t be setting any breakneck speeds even if you use the Sport mode, it does make this minivan, um, corporate hauler, feel quicker than its competitors sending you to 100kph in just over 7 seconds. I kept mine in Eco mode to see what kind of fuel consumption I could get and was still impressed with its acceleration. I mustered an impressive 9.4L/100 kilometers. The handling is well balanced and predictable with no brake fade.
Tumblr media
Above: No attention to detail is spared.
More a boardroom than a minivan cabin, the Carnival’s interior is serenely quite. The multi-link rear suspension soaks up road irregularities and sends barely a shudder through the greenhouse. I had to pick up over a dozen cinder blocks while my truck was out for a wheel alignment and the Kia surprised me with its smooth ride even under a heavy load, the back end never bottomed out. Kudos.
The Verdict
There’s a lot to like about the Carnival, from the old school automatic transmission to the smooth revving V6. As much as I love the lounge chairs that look like they’ve been pillaged from a Maybach, for my personal priorities I’d go for the regular, removable second row seats. Call me crazy but I’d love to see a sportier handling package made available to go with the macho design.
Tumblr media
Will the Carnival steal some of the market share away from SUVs? Hard to say, with its easier access to the third row, lower lift over and better maneuverability than an SUV it makes sense, one thing is certain it’ll give Toyota, Honda and Chrysler a run for their money.

THANKS FOR WAITING. I am sorry I didnt get to the Phidari, but here is your RyuSen~
Fandom: Kamen Rider Build
Relationship: Sento/Banjou
Summary: Short fluff about Sento waiting for Banjou to come home from drinking with his boxing buddies.
Rating: TEEN
Written for: @narashikari, also crossed posted at my Ao3
Rubbing his almond eyes Sento sighed deeply, pushing himselfaway from his lab table, taking a quick break from his newest project.  Looking up at the mathematical clock hangingin the lab, the boy frowned, staring at the time, wondering where the nightwent.  It was late, and the young geniusKamen Rider was starting to get tired and unfocused.  At this point, it would be smart to stop forthe night, and go to bed, but even if he laid down, he wouldn’t be able tosleep.
‘Where is he…?’
Sento’s thoughts drifted as he stared into the empty spaceof the hidden lab, thinking about the hot headed boxer that had tumbled intohis life.  The attractive brunette knownas Banjou Ryuga, has not been home that night, his old friends from his boxerdays calling him out for dinner and drinks. The boy had invited Sento along not wanting to leave the scientistalone, but the lean Kamen Rider wasn’t made for that type of socializing, so hedecided to stay home.
But after hours of being left in the basement hideout theboy started to get cabin fever, he got up and began to pace around attemptingto find a way to distract himself.  Picking up a marker, Sento began toscribble on his clear whiteboard, the sound of squeaking adding to the quietticking of the hanging clock.  After a few minutes the board was coveredin messy equations, and numbers, and then quickly abandoned, the genius puttingthe marker down with a heavy sigh.
“Maybe I can reconfigure Dragon-”
The words suddenly died in his throat, the sound of feetshuffling above him filling the quiet of the room.  Sento didn’t want toadmit it, but he felt his heart skip hearing the noise, knowing exactly whatthat meant.  Banjou was home, and within a few minutes the boxer would bemaking his way down the stairs with probably a dopey grin on his face. Well, the self-proclaimed genius couldn’t let him see him restless, andobviously lost without the boxer’s company. That would be completely mortifying!
Quickly, yet gingerly, the lean Kamen Rider crossed the roomand threw himself into his stool, hoping to look nonchalant and cool. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Sento could hear the sound ofthe refrigerator door opening above him, and the sound of feet gently landingon the metal stairway filling the room.  Biting at his lower lip, thegenius found himself holding his breath momentarily, waiting for the moment hewould hear Banjou’s loud boisterous call his name, to hear him say, ‘Sento! I’mback!’, in that way that made his heart skip. But the call didn’t happen, thesounds of the footsteps getting louder, but something was off about them. The boy cocked his head, lifting his gaze towards the stairs catching awobbly leg step down onto a metal step.
“Banjou?”   Sento stood up, calling out to theother, recognizing the boys pants immediately, “Hey are you-”
“Sento~”
Well, that was definitely Banjou’s voice, but it was wayoff?!  It was extra giddy, almost high pitched as if he was a childexcited over something?  Finally, the tall boxer came into sight, hislarge form leaning against the staircases’ thin railing. The boys dark eyesswept across the space, until it landed on the lean scientist, their gazelocking from across the room.  A dopey smile crossed Banjou’s face, as heslowly took another step, wobbling slightly, and another, until he slightlystumbled, reaching the ground floor.
Sento began moving before he realized it, the sound of feetpaddling the floor as the genius ran over to the other.  “Banjou!”
His thin arms wrapped around the boxer’s waist, pullingBanjou’s firm body against him for stability. Immediately the sensitive nose of the self-proclaimed genius, wrinkledsmelling the alcohol wafting from the boys body.  Tilting his head Sento scoffed lightly, hishand pressed even more into the boys side, worry filling him.
“Man, you really cut loose didn’t you?”  Sento murmured, turning his head slightly, catching Banjou’s unfocused gaze.  For amoment the genius felt his breath getting caught in his throat, noticing thebeautiful flush of pink on his lover’s face, giving him a warm and inviting look.  It took all of Sento’s restraint not to leanover and kiss him right there and then.
Chuckling to himself, Banjou’s lips curled into a lazy happysmile.
“Y-Yeah…I had…had a few…” The boys words slurred slightly, his dark eyes sparkling mischievously, “But…I-ImOK!”
“Idiot, you’re not ok!” Sento chided him gently, carefullytaking a step forward, pulling the other boy next to him.  “Come on, let’s get you to bed, muscle head”
“Heh, that’s funny…” Banjou leaned even more against him,the boys breath tickling his ear, “You taking me…to bed…”
Sento shivered with the sensation, warm breath teasing, against his sensitive ear.  The words thoughsent a flutter of hot pride stir up in his lean chest.  “W-What do you mean Banjou?”
Shuffling across the space, the two boys finally reached theirbed, allowing the genius to gently lower the boxer onto the mattress.  Banjou’s hands slid down Sento’s thin arms, before catching the genius’ wrist, keeping the boy against him, their legsgently brushing against one another. Gently tugging the boys thin wrist, Dragon’s Owner coaxed him in betweenhis knees, his thumb brushing against Sento’s wrist.
Tilting his head up Banjou’s gaze was hot and teasing frombehind his long bangs, “…Because…Normally I’m the one who drags…you to… bed….amIright?”
Immediately, the scientists’ cheeks flushed with color, thewords summoning heated memories from the back of the boys mind.  The nights he found himself unable to resistBanjou’s rough kisses, being pinned beneath Dragon’s owner, and the deliciousheat between their bodies as they fooled around on that bed.  Darting his eyes away, Sento scoffed, shiftinghis weight anxiously between the boys legs.
“You’re drunk Banjou…go to sleep…”
But the boy didn’t want to let Sento go, one hand letting goof the boys wrist, so that his fingertips dragged across the genius’ pinkcheeks, freezing the Kamen Rider in place. Sento’s almond eyes widened with the gentle touch, before flutteringclosed, the hand sliding across his face, cupping behind his head.  The boy could feel the digits curling up inthe back of his dark hair, before gently coaxing him to lean over.
“Ah…” Sento shivered, feeling the gentle, yet possessive lipsof his lover press against his, “…Mm…”
Banjou’s lips tasted bitter, the residue of beer prominenton his mouth, as they gently kissed.  Thetaste should have been off putting to the Kamen Rider, but there was somethingabout how slowly the boxer began to kiss Sento with more insistence, causing a heatto bubble up from within him.  Suddenly, teethgently sunk into the boys bottom lip, earning the boxer a low whine from thegenius.
Pulling away slowly, the lean genius found himself pantingsoftly, his eyes heavy as he watched Banjou’s rosy lips curl into a pleasedsmile.  Gods, the boxer looked so invitinglike that, and Sento felt his whole body humming already with the promise thatkiss held.  But, he knew better thanthat, Dragon’s owner was drunk, and he shouldn’t take advantage of him likethis.  Sighing in frustration, the scientist, pressed his palm against the boys firm chest, pushing him back on the bed.
“Stop playing muscle head, go to sleep…” He murmured, tryingto coax the other to lay down, “O-OI!”
Instead of the brunette laying down by himself, he kept hishold on Sento, pulling him into the bed with him.  Both boys tumbled into the sheets, the leangenius immediately being pulled into Banjou’s arms.
“Mmm…fine then, I’ll sleep if you stay here with me…”
Pushing back, the Kamen Rider grunted against the boxer’s neck, trying to give himself a little space. “B-Banjou stop play-“
“I love you…”
Sento stopped immediately, his almond eyes going wide as hefelt the boxer nuzzled into him, burying his face into the genius’ darkhair.
“I love you…Sento…” He sighed sleepily, the breath ticklingthe boys ear.
It wasn’t like Banjou has never said those three words tohim, but it was so rare and unspoken that the scientist still wasn’t used toit.  There was a warm fluttering in hischest as the words echoed in his ears over and over again, wrapping around hisheart like a warm blanket.  Sighing tohimself, the boy closed his eyes, knowing full well he should’ve undressed bothhim and Banjou so they could sleep comfortably. But instead, he decided to give himself up to the overwhelming feeling ofbeing loved, wanted, and safe in the boys arms.
“I love you too…muscle head…”

Daughters (A Stranger Things Drabble)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Fandom: Stranger Things Words: 1855
One of my few non-terato related stories, about a year and a half old. This is a stand alone fic about Hopper showing Eleven the birth certificate from Dr. Owens and explaining what it means. Hopper opens up about his lost daughter, Sara. Feedback is appreciated.
Eleven sat on the couch covered in a thick blanket, watching a particularly old western that made very little sense to her, when she heard the special knock on the door.
Without taking her eyes off of the T.V., she reached out mentally and snapped open the four slide locks and the deadbolt with little effort. She heard Hopper enter the cabin, tap his boots against the door frame, and shut the door, though she didn’t turn to look at him. He had gone on his off-day without telling her why, and that, in her experience, was never a good thing. She was a little apprehensive to learn what exactly he’d been up to while he was away.
He stepped around the couch to turn the T.V. off and then sat down beside her, laying two envelopes on the coffee table. One was slim and white, and the second was big, brown, and overflowing.
“What’s that?” Eleven asked, nodding her head at them.
He didn’t answer right away. He sat hunched forward with his elbows on his knees, rubbing his mustache with his right hand, looking down at the brown envelope.
“I went to see Dr. Owens today,” Hopper mumbled from behind his hand.
Eleven’s heart rate accelerated in alarm.
“Bad man,” Eleven said in a nervous whisper.
“Nah, he ain’t all bad,” Hopper said. “He had something for me. Well, it’s for both of us, actually.” He reached for the white envelope and handed it to her. She took it gingerly.
Opening it, she pulled out a blue paper with writing she didn’t understand. “‘Cert…certificate of birth?’ What does that mean?”
“It’s a paper the parents get when a baby is born. Then when that baby gets old enough, they keep it. It’s proof.”
“Proof of what?”
“Life. Existence.” Hopper turned to her. “It shows who your parents are, where you came from.“ He pointed. “It’s also got a social security number.”
“What’s that for?”
“In American, you have to have a social security number to do just about anything. Go to school, get a job, etc. That number is your whole life.”
She frowned at the digits on the page, then the ones on her arm. “Another number.”
“Yeah,” Hopper laughed. “We all got ‘em, kid. I guess most of us are lucky that it’s not our name, too.” He jerked his chin at the paper. “Keep reading.”
“‘This certifies that in the state of Indiana, Jane Hop…’” She looked up at him. “Hopper?”
He nodded solemnly.
“‘Was born in Hawkins, child of Teresa Ives, Mother, and James Hopper… Father.” She looked back at him and lowered the paper, though still clutched it in her fingers. “I don’t understand. What does this mean?”
“Means it’s official,” Hopper said. “We’re family. You’re kinda stuck with me now. Sorry ‘bout that.”
She shook her head, but didn’t say anything. She was feeling a lot of things she hadn’t experienced before and couldn’t properly name, and was having difficulty sorting through them. She stared hard at the paper for a few minutes. Hopper watched her quietly; he seemed to be giving her space to process all this and room to react. Perhaps preparing for a storm, if she wasn’t happy about the arrangement.
After a few minutes, she folded the paper again and gave it back, which he placed on the table next to the large brown envelope.
“What is that?” She asked.
Again, he didn’t answer immediately, and when he did, it was with a very heavy sigh.
“Well... since we’re family now, I figured I should introduce you two.”
He reached into the brown envelope and pulling out everything that was inside it. There were drawings, old elementary work sheets, coloring pages, but most of it was pictures. Sifting through, he extracted a photograph of a small, blonde-haired, blue-eyed child, wearing a frilly blue dress, smiling widely. Her curly hair was pulled up into two pigtails with aqua blue bands.
“Is that Sara?” Eleven asked tentatively.
Hopper nodded. “This was her first grade class photo. Just a month or two before everything went to shit.” He found another photo, in this one, Hopper was sitting with Sara and a blonde haired, blue-eyed woman who strongly resembled Sara. Hopper was clean-shaven in the picture, and they were all smiling.
Eleven pointed to the woman.
“That’s Diane,” Hopper said. “We were married. Then Sara died. Then we weren’t married anymore.”
“Why?”
“My fault mostly,” Hopper said, staring at the picture. “She wanted to move on, try and get her life back, but I couldn’t let go. I started drinkin’, lost my job because I stopped showing up, all kinds of things that she quite understandably didn’t want to deal with. I wouldn’t have wanted to deal with me, either.”
“Where is she?”
“Philadelphia. She got remarried a few years ago, had herself a new little baby boy. She’s doing good. She’s happy.”
He reached into the pile of papers and drew out another certificate, like the one Hopper got from Owens, but from a different state. The name on the top line was “Sara.”
“She’d be your sister,” He said, staring at the type font as though he couldn’t see anything else. “She’d have loved a sister.”
The emotions that had been swirling in Eleven’s body had settled, and of the remaining ones, the most prominent was sorrow. “What was she like?”
Hopper’s chin shook, and she thought he might not be able to talk about it, but he said, “She was so smart. Smarter than me. Got it from her mom, I guess. She’s so interested in science and space and all that stuff.” He plucked at the aqua blue bracelet around his wrist. A tear fell from his eye and disappeared into his beard.
“She was gonna grow up to be a paleontologist and also an astronaut doctor. Not an astronaut that was also a doctor, a doctor that only treated astronauts.“ He smiled. “She was gonna have thirty kids, but she wasn’t gonna get married cause boys were gross. She was going to do so many things.” More tears fell, and he wiped his nose on his sleeve. “She never got the chance to do anything.”
Emotions can be infectious, especially when the person exhibiting them was so stoic and self-contained ordinarily. Eleven could feel tears on her own cheeks as Hopper spoke.
“Her birthday was April 17th,” He said. “She would have been seven if she had made it that long. She nearly made it.” The tears were falling freely now. He didn’t even attempt to wipe them away. Eleven wondered if he had ever said these things to anyone. She knew vaguely that most people in town didn’t even know he had had a daughter.
“A few months after, I came home and Diane was packing up Sara’s room. Just pulling down everything and stuffing it into boxes. I asked what she was doing… and she said she was donating it. That she couldn’t stand looking at it all every day. And I got so… angry. It was like she was just throwing her away and I couldn’t believe she could do that. I over-did it a little; I yelled a lot, started throwing things. That’s when she kicked me out for the last time. That,” He pointed to the pile. “Was all I managed to save. That’s all that’s left of Sara.
“Well,” He said, “That and this.” He pulled the bracelet off of his wrist and toyed with it a little. ”She used to wear these stretchy blue hair bands, like, every day. She had all kinds of different bows and hair things she could’ve worn, but she always wanted these.
“One day, while she was on chemo, she pulled them out so she could take a bath, and all her hair came with them. After that, she couldn’t wear them anymore. I was going to throw them away, but she made them into a little bracelet and had me wear it. She said she wanted to save them for when her hair grew back.”
His face crumpled. Holding the little blue bracelet in both hands, he pressed it against his forehead and wept.
Eleven pulled herself up to her knees and hugged Hopper around the shoulders, crying into his neck. They stayed that way for some time.
When Eleven drew back, inexplicably, the blue bracelet was now circling her wrist. She looked at Hopper questioningly as she reached to pull it off.
He stopped her. “No, you should have it,” He said. “She’d want you to have it. I want you to have it, too. We’re family now.”
She smiled and her lip quivered. She nodded and looked at the bracelet. A tenuous connection to a sister she’d never meet. She looked at the two certificated on the table.
“Sara was your daughter,” Eleven said slowly, carefully. “Does this mean that I am, too?”
“Yeah,” He said, regaining composure. “That’s exactly what that paper means. You’re my daughter. I’m your dad. Officially.”
“Just officially?” Eleven said.
Hopper shook his head. “No, not just officially. If you want, it could be for real.”
“For real,” Eleven repeated. “Not like Papa.”
“No, not like Papa,” Hopper said seriously. “I know he wanted you to call him that, but was there ever a time when he called you his daughter? Treated you like a dad is supposed to?”
Eleven shook her head emphatically.
“No, because he doesn’t even know what it means. I doubt he’s ever really loved anything. Certainly not you.” Hopper looked down at the two certificates. “I loved Sara. And I love you, too, kid.”
Eleven had never once in her entire life heard those words. The swirl of emotions was back, but this time, the most out-standing one was joy. Incapable of speech, all she could do was smile and cry.
Hopper reached out an arm and Eleven hugged him around the middle, resting her head on his chest. He squeezed her tight with both arms and planted a peck on the top of her head. After some time had passed, they let go of each other, but she took his hand and held it. They both needed the comfort of touch right then.
Eleven dared to picked up a drawing and asked Hopper what it meant. He told her it was supposed to be a dog-velociraptor, laughing. It went on like this for several hours: Eleven would choose something from the pile, and Hopper would explain what it was; tell little, loving stories about Sara’s brief life, and then he would put it back into the envelope.
When they had gone through the entirety of the pictures and papers, all that was left were the two certificates sitting side by side on the table. The only thing they had in common was the line, “James Hopper: Father.” He folded them and put them both in the brown envelope and sealed it. This wasn’t just old memories anymore. It was proof, just like Hopper had said. The love of a man for his daughters.

MASTERLIST
“Where is he?” Sehun asked, looking around the room. “He’s probably in his room with Rose.” You answered him, rolling your eyes as you lead back to the couch. Sehun turns his attention to you with a smirk. “Come on, (Y/N), don’t be jealous.” He said. “How can I not?” You loaned burying your face in your hand.
You were staying in a cabin with your closest friends. And turns out, your crush, and who was also your bestfriend, Chanyeol, brought his girlfriend, Rose, along too. You and Chanyeol were inseparable. He would tell you anything and everything and so would you. But ever since he dated rose, you felt like you’ve built a wall between you and him. You pushed him away and you rarely talk to him. It’s not like you wanted to avoid him. But you just didn’t want to get too invoved and cause and trouble in their relationship. Chanyeol is the happiest when he’s with Rose, and it pained you to see that. She is beautiful, she is smart, she is sweet, she is everything that Chanyeol wants. She’s perfect.
The only person who knew about your feelings were Sehun and Minseok. When Chanyeol told you that he’s dating Rose, you cried the whole night in Sehun’s apartment, when Minseok was also visiting.
“When was the last time you talk to him?” Sehun asked, passing you his drink. “I don’t know… 3 months ago I guess?” You told him before taking a gulp of his drink. You pass it back to him and he shook his head. “You know, he asked me about how you were.” Sehun told you. “Why is he asking that?” You asked, furrowing your brows in confusion. “I don’t know, I guess he misses you.” Sehun winked only to make you to chuckle bitterly. “Like he does.” You said getting up from the couch. “Where are you going?” Sehun asked. “Getting myself a drink.” You said looking back to Sehun before walking yourself to the kitchen. Jongdae was in the kitchen as well, and he looked to you before he could pour a drink in his glass. “Hey, (Y/N)!” He smiled brightly at you. “Hey.” You answered him with a small smile. “You don’t look so pumped.” He pouted. “Because I, haven’t got myself a drink yet.” You said in a sarcastic tone. Jongdae smiled and passes you the glass he just filled and you smiled back at him. “Don’t drink too much okay?” He asked. “Can’t promise you there.” You winked before taking another sip of the drink. “Got something on mind you want to forget?” He asked as he put the drink back int he fridge.
You then spotted Chanyeol. Rose in his arm. And just at that moment, Chanyeol kissed Rose’s cheek before he could jump into the couch to join the others. “Yes, I want it gone from my mind.” You said bitterly before taking another sip.
“How about a round of Truth or Dare?” Jongin asked, picking up an empty beer bottle. “I’m in!” Chanyeol cheered. “In.” Rose joined. “Hell yeah!” Junmyeon said. Most of the group joined, except Kyungsoo and Jongdae, because they were planning to stay sober. “(Y/N), are you playing?” Sehun asked. You felt your head a bit dizzy. You forgot how much glass of beer you had but, you weren’t totally drunk. “I don’t know…” You hesitate. “Come on, it’ll be fun!” Chanyeol encourage you with a smile. You looked to him before looking back to Sehun. “Yeah, sure why not.” You said, finally giving in. Jongin and Minseok then told everyone about the basic rule. If the person does not want to tell the truth, or do the dare, they must take a piece of clothing off. Jongin asked if all of you understood and yo all said yes. “Great! I’ll start!” Jongin said before he spun the bottle on the table.
Few rounds have been passed. Jongin had told the truth about himself, Minseok had drank a cola mixed with vegetable juice, which was horrible. And Junmyeon has told about his most embarrassing moment that made everyone laughed their asses off. “My turn!” You cheered, before spinning the bottle. Everyone watches the bottle spins, and it slowly stopped, pointing to Chanyeol. You weren’t really expecting it to land on him, but you try to keep your voice as stern as you can. “Yeol.” You called, his name tasted bitter-sweet to your tongue. “(Y/N),” He leaned forward, ready to listen. “Truth or dare?” You asked. “Truth.” “What is, you deepest darkest secret?” You asked, trying to sound mysterious. But it seemed like the question caught him off guard. He was flustered. You were shocked. He then took his jacket off and everyone around the table started cheering. “Good question!” Rose compliment you and you just gave her a small smile. It was Sehun’s turn. He then spins the bottle and you were screwed when the bottle stopped and landed son you. “(Y/N).” Sehun smiled mischievously. “Sehun.” You smiled back nervously, but still trying to sound as normal as possible. “Truth or dare?” He asked. It’s not that you don’t want to tell the truth, but you know what Sehun will be asking if you said truth. But he can do soothing more worse with dare. So you were trapped with just anything you choose at this point. “Dare.” You finally decide. “7 minutes, in a room with out Yeol.” He smirked. You shot your eyes wide open. “No, no, no, no, are you even—“ “Aw, it’s okay (Y/N)!” Rose cheered. You looked to her uncomfortably before glaring at Sehun. “Well this is interesting.” He winked. “Are you going to do it? Or are your going to wuss out and take something off?” He asked. You looked over to Chanyeol who was blushing and you looked away before taking breath. “I’ll do it.” You said.
You heard the door being locked from outside and you rest your forehead on the door. “Well this is awkward.” You said breaking the silence of the room as you turn your heel and leaned your back to the door. “How come?” Cahnyeol asked, who was sitting on the edge of the bed. You just shook you head. Another silent. “Hey.” He started. You looked to him. “You’re not mad at me are you?” He asked. You didn’t know what to say at first. No, you don’t hate him, you love him. But you hate him because he doesn’t know the fact that you love him. “No.” You stated. “No, I don’t hate you.” You repeated. “Because ever since I dated Rose, you’ve become so distant.” He said. “I didn’t want to bother your relationship is that something bad?” You snapped. “Why are you snapping at me? I’m just asking you a question.” He said, getting frustrated and confused. “Whatever, you wouldn’t even understand.” You said, crossing your arms on your chest, looking away from him. “Try me.” He said, getting up from the bed. “We’re friends, best friends, we used to tell each other everything, just because I have a girlfriend, that doesn’t mean that you can’t tell me anything.” He explained as he took a step closer to you. As he gotten closer, he was towering over you. Feeling a bit small in front of him, you looked down to your feet. “Can we not argue right now?” You grumbled. “Well you’re making me want to argue.” He argued. You rolled your eyes. “Tell me something.” He said. “There’s nothing to tell Yeol.” You said, daring yourself to look up to him. It’s the first time you could get this close to Chanyeol in a long time. First conversation you had in months. First time looking into his eyes after the longest time. “Come on I know you’re hiding something.” He said, trying to figure you. “There isn’t, stop, pushing.” You said, your voice low. “(Y/N), I’ve known you for years, I know when you’re hiding something or feeling bad about something so just tell me what—“ “I like you Yeol!” you finally snapped. He froze in place. “I like you, I love you okay? Are you satisfied?” You felt like crying, you felt like screaming or maybe just teleport into another place. “But you have Rose, and you love her, and I didn’t want to bother your relationship.” You continued. “I’ve been hiding my feelings for a long time, and I didn’t actually have the gut to tell you because I know it’ll just ruin your relationship with Rose, and you’re so happy with her, and I can never be her.” Just in time, the door clicked and you backed away from the door, only to accidentally bump your back to Chanyeol. Sehun and the others were smirking, and even Rose was too. “So… How’d it go?” Rose asked. “It was fine.” You said trying to sound as normal as possible. Everyone cheered and laughed, as they walk back to the middle room, you felt a hand gripping yours and it was Chanyeol. “(Y/N)—“ “Don’t. There nothing to say.” You told him before pulling your hand from his grip and continue to walk back with the others.
You eventually told the others that you needed some rest and you had too much to drink. Sehun and Jongin let out a ‘boo’ but you shrug it off with a smile. You glance at Chanyeol and he had his eyes on you. You pressed your lips together before turning away to get back to your room.
It has been 2 weeks since you told Chnayeol about your feelings. It has been 2 week since you’ve seen the others. Chanyeol has been trying to reach you. You never answered his call, or text. You felt really bad by not answering to his text. You felt like you’ve just abandoned your bestfriend.
From: Chanyeol
(Y/N), please answer my call We need to talk things out Please don’t shut me out (Y/N) Come on, I need to talk to you
As you were reading through Chanyeol’s text, Sehun called you. “Hello?” You answered, as you put the phone to your ear. “Hey, mind if I come over later?” He asked. I wasn’t Sehun’s first time to call you, wanting to come over, but surely, you were always surprised. “Yeah sure, what time?” You nod your head as you sat up on your bed. “Maybe around 4… Just after practice.” He said, before letting out a sigh. “Okay.” No nod your head in agreement. “Great, see you later.” he said before hanging up the phone. You looked to your digital clock on your nightstand and it was 2.31 PM. You still have some time to do something. So, you decided to take some shower before Sehun arrived.
To: Sehun
Where are you?
It was almost five, you had just finished your cup noodle while you were waiting for Sehun’s arrival, but he hasn’t showed up yet.
From: Sehun
Be there in a sec, just wait for me
You rolled your eyes and locked your phone before tossing it on the couch. You threw away the plastic noodle cup to the trash bin, and as you were about to walk back to sit on the living room, the doorbell rang. You trotted you way tot the door and swung it open. “I thought you weren’t going to show up.” You said, but you froze when the tall figure in front of you wasn’t Sehun. “Hey.” Chanyeol said nervously. “What are you doing here?” You asked coldly, avoiding his eyes. “I came to talk.” “There’s nothing to talk about.” You told him. “There is actually, can I come in?” He asked politely. You couldn’t help but to open the door wider for him to come in. He stepped in to your house and you shut the door behind you. You both sat on the couch and you suddenly got nervous. How could someone’s existence could make you feel so happy yet painful. One moment, Chanyeol was everything, and he was the best thing. And another moment, he was your sadness, an he was the only person you don’t want to see. “So…” You sigh, playing with you fingers before looking up to him. “I broke up with Rose.” Chanyeol said bluntly. Your eyes widen. This was a surprise for you. The only thing you could say was: It’s all your fault.
Just as you were about to say something, He spoke up. “It was a week ago, I believe…” He said looking up the ceiling, trying to remember. He was about to say something but you cut him off. “It’s my fault, you broke up with Rose isn’t it?” You asked him. “No, no, It’s not It’s mine and—“ “It’s my fault Yeol!” You repeated. “It really is not!” The then stood up from the couch. You felt small as he towers over you. He kneeled down in front of you as you looked away. “(Y/N), look at me.” He said. You shook your head before you heard him sigh. “Losing her made me sad, but losing you drove me crazy (Y/N).” He stated, making your teeth dug into your bottom lip deeper. “Please, do I have to lose you too?” He asked, sounding desperate. You felt a tear escaped your eyes and you quickly wipe them away. “You should be with Rose right now Yeol.” You said bitterly. He shook his head. “No, I want to be with you right now, because you’r’e the most important person that I want to talk to.” He said, you couldn’t hold back the tears anymore, he then pulled you into his arms as he took a seat next to you. You cried on his shoulders and he sooth you back softly. “Do you know why I didn’t answer your question about my deepest secret?” He asked. You shook your head in respond. “Because my secret was having feelings for you, I didn’t want anyone to know, especially you.” He said. You stood up and shook your head. “No, no, you don’t, you’re just feeling like you had to be there for me.” You said as you wipe the tears from your eyes. “I’m being serious to you.” He said standing up. You shook your head still not believing him. “If I didn’t tell you about my feelings, you would still be happily with Rose right now, if I didn’t play that stupid game, none of this would have happen, and if I just…” You trailed of crying, and loss of words. Chanyeol slowly walked closer to you and put his around you. “It would make a big change, but it still wouldn’t change the way iI feel about you (Y/N)… either you tell me the truth, or you keep it to yourself, I would still love you.” He told you. “I don’t know what to believe at this point.” You sniffed. “Believe me when I said that I love you.” He said looking down to you. You wanted to believe him, but after all of this. After all of the cards being open, your just find it hard to believe him. You can’t help but thinking that he does’t love you, and you made channel and Rose broke up. “It’s all my fault Yeol, I’m sorry.” You cried. “Shh… (Y/N) it’s not, it’s also mine, I pushed her away and I wasn’t even trying to get her back, I just wanted you to get back to me.” He told you. Chanyeol knew that this was not the right time to jump into something with you. You were still feeling lost and unsure about things. He spent the rest of the day trying to comfort you. He went out to buy you your favourite junk food and you both watched movies together. Just before he left your place, he kissed your forehead, which made your heart warm. He took his time to make you believe the love he had for you. He made sure to tell you that he loves you everyday. Day by day, you started to believe him. You believed that he loved you, just as much as you did. Not long after, you feel like you’ve had enough confident to tell him that you love him too. And it made him feel like he was the luckiest boy in the world. You had your first kiss with Chanyeol when you thought he was asleep on the couch as you both were watching a movie. “You thought I was asleep?” He winked. You felt your cheeks heating as you shoved a pillow to his face. “Yeol!” He gripped your hand to move the pillow away before placing his soft lips back to yours. You smiled before hitting him again with the pillow. “Love you.” He smiled. You shyly nodded. “Me too.” You said before you pressed your lips against his. He was trying. And you know it. You needed time. And he knows it. You were both lovers who had just lost their way and were trying to learn to find each other.

Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen... (3)
Summary: Your favorite past times are bar hopping in search of different ways to get you drunk, nights with the lone wolf sheriff of Hawkins, Indiana, and becoming greatly awestruck over the powers of one mysterious little girl.
Jane has no idea what any of that means.
Or, in other words, a series of drabbles regarding you, the lovely Jane, and the less than lovely Jim Hopper.
Chapter Summary: A not so lovely you in the eyes of an oh so lovely Jane.
In better terms, you are the worst example of a normal human being.
Chapter One: Honey, I’m Home!, Chapter Two: Relationship Advice 101
Chapter 3: You, the Enigma
Jane—Eleven, but the normalcy in you failed to become aware of her second life—did not have to look far in the realms of entertainment, even if her life abruptly ended beyond the translucent glass windows. Hawkins’ arcade, far past bare trees and fading footsteps, was nothing but an object mentioned in passing. Jane’s gaze would align with the empty ones of Barbie dolls, her thumb caressing the soft strands of blonde hair that she didn’t share with the toy, yet her life had never known bringing two dolls together for a kiss or building a life for them so ideal and different from hers. No one allowed her the chance to cut her doll’s hair to unspeakable lengths, or to pull their heads from their petite bodies because nothing was as amusing than to ruin a doll’s gorgeous looks.
“Oh, fuck you! Girls do it all the time!”
“So, you’re telling me nothing about this—” A doll laying around, one you mutilated yourself, was picked up from your dear partner. “Is a little strange to you?”
Jane thought she could figure the type of person you were based on your quirks; one of them happened to be an interest in pulling the hairs from doll’s heads and throwing their clothes to the side so they would remain bare forever. To you, it was a temptation you could never shake off despite your immaturity slowly dwindling as life caught up to you. You would recall faintly of instances where you smacked one doll against another when no one ridiculed you for your imagination and rather embraced you for the devious, creative child you were. Jane, ever the naive one, was unaware of the odd desires children would have; the only inkling she had to question your hobby was her caretakers utter concern for an adult that still reverted to her tendencies every now and then.
You were quite the entertainment, even if you frequently dumbfounded Jane with your lively and eccentric behavior. Your youthful appearance mirrored that, wrinkles only forming upon unbearable stress, and the teen’s favorite pastime became observing the reactions elicited from you as you performed with reckless abandon. For example, your grin was at its brightest when around Jim Hopper, hands grasping at the other in hopes of not revealing the trembling of your fingers. A frown would tug on your lips upon anticipation of when the sheriff of Hawkins would be home, arms crossed over the other as you murmured the less than kind words he would have the pleasure of listening to once he reached the warmth of his cabin. Why tears ran down your face at times was a mystery to her, considering nothing ever inflicted you but the path you put yourself on—life catching up to you was to be your worst enemy—except Jane was a smart girl and putting two and two together led her to this conclusion: you clearly weren’t yourself.
Clearly. “Hop, no one ever asked me to the dance!”
An exasperated reminder from your lover that the context of your words was from more than thirty years ago only caused unintelligible sobs to escape you, the man gripping at your side as the both of you embraced the comfort and familiarity of your new home—if you could even call it that. Only two weeks passed since the three of you wished away cobwebs from corners of walls and chased dust bunnies along the wooden floors, and already Jane was taught a word that would prove useful in this situation: ugly. Admittedly, the word brought out a faint chuckle from the girl, since no better word was to describe your expression at that time. Observing you curled up against the toilet bowl as you puked out microwavable vegetables the next morning was not so amusing, however.
There was an indisputable fact to you despite that; you were pretty, as Mike called her once. Your smile pulled at your cheeks, an air surrounding your lips that screamed kissable, not that Jane would know. Your hair accentuated your complexion, and it delighted the girl whenever you reached down for a hair tie you found somewhere and tied your hair up into a bun. Hairs never staying in place, you occasionally twirled at the strands of unruly hair whenever you were feeling bored. Somehow Hopper’s hands would find your waist when he was feeling charitable, digits tracing the lines imprinted in your skin. Jane would imagine the pink dress Mike borrowed from his sister falling a little above your knees, embracing your hips and complementing your unpleasant attitude with an innocence no one would expect from you. If there was a word to describe more than pretty, perhaps that was it.
Becoming used to you was difficult enough because no child could live up to your immaturity, but what made matters worse was that she would find your eyes narrowing at her petite figure every now and then. One sided conversations eventually fell into silence upon Jim Hopper’s leave, either with you too occupied with corny game shows or her locking herself into her room doing God knows what. The girl often would cock her head and share the crease between your eyebrows at your actions even if you hadn’t nudged yourself into her select group trustworthy people just yet; somehow everything about you had to be important if you were around. It was one emotion from you she couldn’t understand, and despite asking, her own words would sound so foreign to her that dropping the topic would be her next course of action.
In the eyes of Jane… or Eleven, you were an enigma. You were a puzzle she couldn’t solve, and a mystery with no clues. However, when she slammed her bedroom door in your face with nothing but a bloody nose and the willpower to be separated from your anger, there was one emotion she could decipher from you. The furrowed brows and the squint of your eyes said it all. A universal emotion it was, one that even the most intelligent of people were faced with.
Confusion.
“Oh,” was all you had to say to that.

TOYOTA INNOVA CRYSTA EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN
The Toyota Innova Crysta has been the  Best mpv In India in the Indian market for over a decade. The MPV was introduced as a replacement to the Qualis and has gone through a number of updates over the years. However, it still continues to remain the most popular MPV of choice in the country. In terms of design, the Toyota Innova Crysta is offered with a completely different design from its early models. The Innova Crysta now comes with a much sharper contemporary design, which gives it a more muscular stance. The front fascia of the Toyota Innova Crysta receives a prominent hexagonal grille, with two thick chrome-slats which seamlessly integrate with the smoked-projector headlamps and the LED DRLs. The lower part of the grille comes with a gloss black finish, integrating the air intake as well. The front bumper is also sharper and houses the clear fog lamps on either end. The side profile of the Toyota Innova Crysta is clean and uncluttered. The only noticeable features are the 17-inch alloy wheels and the subtle chrome accents on the door handles and the ORVMs. The rear profile features a slab-like set of wrap-around tail lights, along with a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna, which helps continue the premium look and feel of the MPV. Inside, the Toyota Innova Crysta features a blacked-out dashboard with faux wood elements. There is also a decent amount of chrome around the centre console, AC vents and the steering wheel, adding to the premium feel in the cabin. The entire cockpit on the Innova Crysta is slightly tilted towards the driver, giving a more engaging feel for the driver.
2. TOYOTA INNOVA CRYSTA ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
The Toyota Innova Crysta is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. This includes a single petrol engine in the form of a 2.7-litre unit producing 165bhp and 245Nm of torque. The diesel versions on the other hand, receive a choice of two engine options: a 2.4-litre unit churning out 150bhp and 343Nm of torque and a 2.8-litre engine returning 175bhp and 360Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed sequential automatic. The Toyota Innova Crysta is a bulky MPV, however, none of the three engine options feel out of breadth either in city traffic or out on the highway. The MPV will take a while to move maneuver around the city, but feels completely at home on the highway. The engine do a good job, powering the Innova Crysta over three-digit speeds and can also maintain this without breaking a sweat. Also due to the weight of the car, the Innova Crysta does feel extremely planted and stable on a straight stretch of the highway. However, pull into a corner and there is noticeable amount of body roll, enough to make you want to slow down hesitantly. Also, the Toyota Innova Crysta does have a lot of vibrations while the NVH levels could have been better as well.

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class First Look: Splitting the Segment
We get it. When SUVs are popular, automakers respond by offering more SUVs. And brands like Mercedes-Benz, which has a big utility lineup, are starting to split up the segment in order to give the people what they want: more SUVs. But you gotta be smart—offering more of the same old utilitarian vehicles won’t do the job, but positioning SUVs as different players will attract more buyers. That’s exactly what’s happening with the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class, which will slot between the GLA and the GLC. It will offer a 5+2 cabin and is being positioned as a trail ranger.
The GLB’s wheelbase is 111.4 inches, making it 5.1 inches longer than the GLA and 1.7 inches shorter than the GLC. With a spacious cabin, the new Mercedes SUV can comfortably seat five people; the second row reclines, and if you need more room in the cargo area, it also can slide forward. A third row with two seats is optional, but it’s short on head- and legroom and can only fit young children. The second row splits in a 40/20/40 configuration, the third row 40/60. Mercedes says families can install up to four child seats in the rear.
Design wise, the new GLB has a distinct look, with a boxier shape than its siblings. With short front and rear overhangs, it looks adventurous, and the front underride guard and raised beltline give it a robust stance. Because it has been designed for younger families, the GLB is available with cool details like an orange surround on the rims and black mirror caps, depending on the version you choose. The taillights are borrowed from the GLE and GLS, and the GLB’s D-pillar is upright to provide a bit more headroom for those seated in the third row. Mercedes says the GLB was designed with an off-road character in mind.
Enter the cabin, and the first thing you notice is the MBUX infotainment system. The instrument panel is all digital with modern graphics. The rest of the interior has plenty of character. Beefy horizontal door handles and big circular air vents provide a distinct, rugged look, while the aluminum trim on the air vents, door handles, dash, and other surfaces offers a touch of refinement. It’s a different take from what we’ve seen in other Mercedes vehicles, and the interior varies depending on the trim you choose. We prefer the brown and black leather with red stitching over the all-black interior, as it provides a lively atmosphere. And once the sun sets, you’ll also enjoy the ambient lighting, with colors you can program to suit your mood. The ambient lighting has been expanded around the air vents, giving the cabin a young vibe.
In terms of power, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 will carry the GLA’s engine, but it’s been updated to increase power, improve efficiency, and lower emissions. Coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic (instead of the GLA’s seven-speed dual clutch), the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine sends 221 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels, while Mercedes’ 4Matic AWD system is available as an option. The German brand says that the GLB can get from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, but we’ll verify that once we get a chance to test it on our home turf. If you choose the 4Matic system, you’ll get the Off-Road Engineering package as standard; according to Mercedes, this adapts the engine power delivery and ABS control for easy handling of off-road terrain. The package adds an animation on the infotainment screen indicating the incline angle and technical settings, and a downhill assist helps drivers down a steep trail by selecting a speed between 1 and 11 mph. The all-wheel-drive system provides different driving modes depending on conditions. Eco/Comfort sends 80 percent of the power to the front wheels, and Sport mode sends 30 percent to the rear axle. In Off-Road mode, the all-wheel-drive clutch acts as an interaxle diff lock, splitting the power delivery 50:50.
As you might expect, the new GLB is full of technology. With the new MBUX infotainment system, drivers and passengers can simply say “Hey, Mercedes” to control different parts of the vehicle—from changing the radio station to setting directions in the nav system. The GLB also has plenty of safety technologies. According to Mercedes, the radar and camera systems have been improved for a better experience with semi-autonomous driving. The active distance assist now uses maps and navigation data to adapt the speed before a corner, crossroad, or roundabout. Mercedes also says there’s a new active steering assist and active lane change assist. If the GLB is equipped with active parking assist, it will have the capability of driving in stop and go traffic. We look forward to testing these features later in the year.
As the SUV segment continues to get hotter, Mercedes is playing the right cards by offering a new model that’s boxier, younger, and more rugged. Although it’s essentially splitting up the segment, the German brand wants to give customers different options to choose from. And the new GLB is being positioned for families who spend their weekdays in the city but like to venture into the wild on weekends.
