#Sorry. Apparently I get defensive of Akutagawa when I'm sick

Unfiltered sick rambles AGAIN but today it's really bothering me that it looks like Atsushi has lost Akutagawa's coat. Like seriously dude, that's a person who just DIED for you, for you alone, to save your life, and that's the object that's most precious to him, both their anchor and identifying item, almost one with his essence; literally the LEAST you can do is hold to it with everything you've got, protect it with your own life if you must. Literally!!!! I don't care if you love him or not, that's the least you can do in respect to someone who just died for you.

Akutagawa's new outfit is cool and everything (wait. longer pause. it really is… ) but I'm going to be so disappointed if it's really revealed that Atsushi lost it in the sea Just Like That. And the thematic value of Akutagawa letting go of his past / getting free of Dazai's control is great, but I'd much rather Akutagawa decide he doesn't want to wear Dazai's coat by his own than. You know. Atsushi uncaringly losing the thing that mattered to Akutagawa the most in the whole world.

(Btw I also wouldn't mind it the slightest if, in order to confirm that Atsushi preserved the coat somehow, they were to directly contradict what that tiny chapter 88 panel showed us. Besides, it wouldn't be much more feasible than Atsushi storing Poe's book inside his non-existing pockets.)
