Ohh she’d love her after that. Not enough to have any full conversations with her, but she’d feel a sense of comfort whenever she’s in the room.

She might start relying on her for other things like help with reading, buying supplies, etc.

I don’t know how GG would feel about it though…

Sparky the Robot costume Test

Last night I sorta just posted a picture and ran, but here’s a more in depth post!

Last night, I did a costume and makeup test for my fanbot Sparky! I tried doing the makeup for the first time ever and it was a bit messy but I had fun! I didn’t have purple makeup so I used the blue makeup my mom is going to use for her walter worker costume. I also don’t have any sponges so I had to use paintbrushes for everything.

The vest is missing a button, my gloves are too big, my wig needs a bit of maintenance since I just got it, I wasn’t sure what I was doing with my eyebrows the whole time, and on top of that I have a skirt dilemma.

One skirt is shorter and fits on me well, (if a little tight) and has no unnecessary details aside from fake pockets. The other skirt is longer, has more fabric, has a texture I enjoy and quite deep pockets but it is too loose around my waist to the point where I worry it’s going to fall off, and it’s got the buttons down the middle that I’m not sure I’m in love with.

I also messed around and took some photos with my favorite purple coat to see if that looked good with the outfit.

Eagle eyed viewers will notice a Mechanisms pin on my sleeve; I want to get a Steam Powered Giraffe pin for my other sleeve if I do end up going with the coat look. If I do, I will have to decide if I want to put the switch under or over the coat.

Now for a more in-depth view of what I did for my makeup, I took photos of myself without the wig in the way. It looks a lot messier, so be warned

I will probably be more thorough when I am able to get contacts but as it is I was just trying to get a feel for what I could do and what I would want my makeup to look like.

my favorite album is probably the vice quadrant. i just adore cosmica and (both versions of) four so much. also timeline shenanigans are my jam. favorite song is very hard to choose, but airheart is a major comfort song for me. other ones in my "most played" list are intertwined, progress and technology, mecto amore, bad days on the horizon, and i'll rust with you!

i couldn't possibly choose..... i genuinely love them all so much, i'd feel bad picking a favorite :(

i don't know about my absolute favorite but! siblings! perfectly encapsulates the vq trio's vibes.

yep! their name's the conductor, they're nonspeaking and communicate through asl. they do interpretation for the band during shows.

My favourite song changes a lot. But some of my faves are Eat Your Heart, On Top of the Universe (specifically the Steamworld heist version) and Latum Alterum.

My favourite bot is a tie between The Jon and Rabbit.

Propaganda for Bleak Horizon

Hatchworth sings the melody on “I don’t believe in a bleak horizon, I won’t concede to all of that” He spent so long in the vault, with just darkness and the bleak walls, but he had hope that whole time that it would get better, and then one day it did, and now he can sing and have fun with his siblings once more. He got out recently so he’s still a bit naive, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t seen hardship. He has seen pain and trauma, and he’s gotten through it. The horizon wasn’t bleak after all.

>And then at the end “what we need now is something different, what we all need is a … Steam Powered Giraffe” ties it in to the Steam Powered Giraffe theme from the first song and the reprise, connecting the album together.

>then of course, it teases Vice Quadrant with the exciting WHAM of a line “see you next time, in space”

>there’s also the fact that the title is mentioned in a Vice Quadrant song, the Space Giant: “over Bleak Horizons, under dark conditions, let the robot band do the work”

it may be short, but it would be a mistake to overlook this masterfully crafted song

hello new friend! i'm mostly a lurker but i like to crawl out from my cave to post something SPG-related once in awhile!

1.) i have heard OF the mechanisms, but i don't recall having listened to anything of theirs on purpose (nor would i recognize it).

2.) ghost grinder #1 for sure but the pulls and bad days on the horizon music videos really pop for me lmao

5.) i DOOOOO have a fanbot sort of kind of technically but also not i have Sonnie the solar-powered failed idol bot who is just a robot that's a fan of the silly robot band and has absolutely no lore association tied to them because i was too lazy to do (back then) 10 years worth of lore reading

- I’ve definitely heard of the Mechs. I’m not really into it, but having only seen a few photos of Drumbot Brian, I would die for him.

- Favorite Album is 1896 (for Zer0) and My favorite song would have to be Overdrive.

Therefore, which robot is most likely to own and use roller skates/blades, and what would they look like?

First of all: Thank you :]

Second of all: My first thought went to The Spine due to Roller Skate king.

I find Roller Skate King to be a unique song in terms of their Hero songs because it deviates from the original formula quite a bit. If you listen to Captain Albert Alexander, Rex Marksley, and Airheart back to back, you’ll notice that they have a really similar structure. But this song is much different, focusing mainly on how cool the Roller Skate King is rather than his life story. Also the genre. It all makes that song seem like a massive tribute to Roller Skate King rather than just another story. Also, “Roller Skate King, knight me if you can, 'cause I wanna roll with you across the land”

I THINK IT’S SAFE TO ASSUME HE ADMIRES THE GUY AT LEAST

I think he’d wear simple black and red skates since those are his favorite colors canonically. Maybe he’ll put a little glitter on the red parts if he wants to spruce it up a bit. But only a modest amount.

Zer0 might canonically have roller skates if you consider the Not Live and Not in Person! show canon. They’re mentioned during the whole, The Spine is stealing all of Zer0’s wheels segment.

I like to think he’d go for a purplish blueish colored skate. I guess I associate that with the Lyin’ Awake music video more than anything else, but that palette suits him. He would like that they stand out under black light. He would also try putting glitter on, but he wouldn’t be nearly as neat and as careful as The Spine would be. It’d get everywhere.

Honorable mention: Hatchworth I feel like isn’t much of a skater, but he does love his Heelys.

The others I feel like the others would enjoy skating, but wouldn’t really be too into it.

Rabbit wouldn’t go out of her way to roller skate, but wouldn’t mind joining her siblings. She’d still have a good time. She’d like those vintage looking skates with the dull colors and the few curvy lines from the back of the skate to the center. Of course, she won’t be afraid to add her own personal changes. She might prefer blades over skates.

The Jon would probably be the most likely to skate around unprompted. Not necessarily because he loves it, though he probably does, but more because he likes to be unpredictable. He’d wear black skates with a simplified rainbow pattern plastered on the sides.

Upgrade is more into, what she considers superior, ice skating. Though she is a bit out of practice. She would find herself imaging it more than doing it. She’d wear pretty pink skates, complete with satin textured ankles.

I have 2! They're named Luna (1960's pop style) and Sol (1970's punk style) and they have a lot of lore! They were built for Dreamland in New York (their original names were Elizabeth and Edward Dream, 'cause they're twins) but when the park burned down Edward was stolen by the Beciles while Elizabeth was pulled into the future to be repaired but her memories of Edward had to be wiped because her memories were damaged. And then she was renamed Luna and given to Luna Park. There's more but I'm not putting all of it here.

I'm gonna be real with you. I have never had any idea what's happening in Kazooland and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
