Wait, cant the salmons also respawn?? Like it would still be very messed up with all the stealing and killing the inklings and grizzco do, but i tough the salmons could respawn like the inklings! thats why the salmon kings always re appear, anyway i hope in the next game we get to see more of their lives and culture like with the octolings bc i think the salmons are real cool
I legitimately have no idea. I like to think that they do respawn, since game terminology uses "splatted" for them in the same way it does for inkfish. Octarians have respawn tech, as we saw in Splatoon 2... so Salmonids DO have access to the technology. And it's a lot nicer than "yeah no we're just killing them actually".
My personal take on respawning is that it's specialized teleportation tech, activating to certain stimuli and sending people to safe places in response. Getting splatted = aaaa overwhelming ink and unpleasantness, you get warped to your spawn and put on time-out for 5 seconds. So that would work on Salmonids, wouldn't it? I think that's very nice.
I would also love to see more about Salmonids, we don't nearly know enough about them for how much of a presence they have in the setting. After Splat3's story mode, I'm cautiously optimistic, and would really like to get to know them as something besides an enemy. :)
#askbox#marine.txt#i've put my share of thought into how respawn tech works...#mostly with inkfish having personal identifying stuff on them that they can ''register'' to spawnpoints#presumably in the form of a bracelet or whatever.#it works for both sports and mundane life. in case you have an Incident and need to be zooped to safety#it has nothing to do with ''being made of ink''. it's just teleport tech#so yeah 1000% it would work for salmonids

Hacker's full arsenal! Read down below for weapon descriptions
Primary weapons:
Drone and computer: These are Hacker's bread and butter. Break into enemy tech, chase them with a drone, and do some cool typing at the typewriter-style laptop. It takes a minute of uninterrupted hacking to get into enemy tech, so make sure someone's pocketed you, just in case. The drone acts like a small, portable sentry, but only does half the damage.
EMP grenades and catapult: Take down enemy tech without waiting for your computer to hack into it. Less defense from having no drone, but makes you a speedy adversary.
Secondary weapons:
Winchester rifle: Get gun, go to the BLU spawnpoint, take out the spy, get the intelligence, go to the RED base, have a nice cold pint and wait for this to all blow over.
Lily and Lana (pistols): For when your drone's been shot down. Bloody Snipers!
Melee:
Chelsea dagger: Hacker doesn't need a gun to send you back to respawn
Mouse: Squeak squeak! A fun new use for an old piece of tech
Cricket Bat: If it works on zombies in that one film, it'll work on the BLU team
