And let me tell you the queer power that Splatoon holds is so powerful that I, a nonbinary with genderfluid tendencies, once started questioning my identity so hard for an entire day thinking I was actually ftm transgender purely because my (trans) octoling boy looked SO good I was filled with absolute gender envy.

So if I, somebody already absolutely queer, was questioning my gender due to THE POWER OF SPLATOON I am convinced there ain't a single Splatoon player out there who hasn't questioned their gender/sexuality at least once and it's all because of funny cephalopods.

i think people are really salty over splatfests sometimes, like its really unneeded "i hope this team wins to make this person mad!!" and its just over a like. a opinion lol coming from someone whos team past btw , i literally picked for the squid sisters so i cant really comment much on people who vote based off idols but i think people are allowed to be annoyed or have a opinion on it

i think side order was the perfect difficulty for splatoon's player's range of skills. side order was too short? too bad, skill issue, get worse.

Everyone is going to choose Team Present for the Final Fest despite it being the worst choice for the next game just because they like Off The Hook.

once i saw some discourse over achts gender before i went to sleep and then i dreamed that side order came out and there was just like a ui element saying their pronouns that changed to a different set every five seconds

the amount of people thinking we're gonna get time travel stuff with the result of grand fest is genuinely infuriating. splatoon's timeline moves linearly with our own (with 12,000 year difference) and jumping drastically forward/back in time is going to mess with the natural evolution of trends and fashion choices the world in game is build around. the question is "what's important to you" and not "what era would you live in or want to explore" if you choose past or future based on time travel hopes, please reconsider. both choices have value, the past shapes what comes next, the future is full of possibilities. but for the love of squid time travel is very likely off the table stop spreading this.

nitpick i have with some splatoon ocs is when people will make a vampire squid oc except its literally just an inkling with black/red hair and generally dark colors because the creator didnt bother to research actual vampire squids vampire squids are not squids! theyre the only guys in their order thats seperate to those of true squids. theyre actually closer related to octopuses! (its octopuses. not octopi) theyre different because they dont produce ink nor do they have chromatophores (stuff that lets them change their skin color). they dont have suckers either, but instead small, spiky things called cirri that helps hold their prey in place. i love nintendo cephalopods!!!!!!!!!! and real life cephalopods too!!!!!!!!!

I love Marina and Pearlina, but not only do fans sometimes whittle her down to just “she loves Pearl”, official things have been doing it as well. Especially in that recent interview :/ It’s a little annoying
