In case you’re looking for figurines from The Suicide Squad film, you can get a Digger keychain and a Thinker Mystery Mini.  Plus a bunch of other adorable figures....Piper fans might like Ratcatcher’s ratties!
I hope there’ll be a Mystery Mini of Digger, but it’s not clear if there’ll be another wave or if this is all of them.

Spoilers for comics in August!
These are part of the official solicitations for that month, which you can see in full at CBR.  It’s a month heavy on Suicide Squad reprints and variant covers, as the movie is out in early August.  But the Mick story continues in the Flash book.
THE FLASH #773 story by JEREMY ADAMS art by WILL CONRAD cover by BRANDON PETERSON ON SALE 8/17/21 $3.99 US | 32 PAGES | FC | DC card stock variant by JORGE CORONA US $4.99 Suicide Squad Movie card stock variant by ALAN QUAH US $4.99 On the loose and bent on destruction, Heatwave's return couldn't come at a worse time for Wally West. Now that the onetime Kid Flash has retaken the mantle of the Fastest Man Alive, he's also taken a new job at Mr. Terrific's Holt Industries. But all of that gets put on the back burner, when the Flash must outrace the flames of one of his greatest foes and figure out why the once-reformed rogue has gone bad again.
Please write ‘Heat Wave’ correctly, DC.  Anyway, it seems that Mick really has gone bad for some reason; I was hoping last month that the covers/solicits were misleading.
I’m not sure who the fiery guy is on the Swamp Thing cover, but he certainly bears a resemblance to Mick (and if it’s him, implies that Mick joins Suicide Squad).  So I’ll post it here just in case.
THE SWAMP THING #6 story by RAM V art by MIKE PERKINS cover by MIKE PERKINS ON SALE 8/3/21 $3.99 US | 32 PAGES | FC | DC 6 of 10 card stock variant by FRANCESCO MATTINA $4.99 US With Prescot’s bio-agent set off in the Kaziranga wetlands, the Green summons Levi back to the land of his making. With Levi unable to access his powers as Swamp Thing, he finds himself trapped in the dense forest and stalked by a group tasked with retrieving his alter ego at all costs. Will he recover his powers before he is hunted down by the Suicide Squad?
Putting the Suicide Squad stuff behind a cut because it gets pretty long -- and not all of it’s included here.  I don’t know if Digger will appear in Suicide Squad: Get Joker!, but included it just in case.  Most of it is TPBs and collected editions, though the Get Joker! series is a new story.
SUICIDE SQUAD: GET JOKER! #2 story by BRIAN AZZARELLO art by ALEX MALEEV & MATT HOLLINGSWORTH cover by ALEX MALEEV ON SALE 9/7/21 $6.99 US | 48 PAGES | FC | DC card stock variant cover by JORGE FORNES Black Label | Prestige Plus | 8 1/2" x 10 7/8" 17+ After turning the tables on the Suicide Squad, The Joker gained control of the device that could detonate the bomb implanted in each of the team members’ heads. Now forced to do The Joker’s bidding, Red Hood, Harley, and the rest of Task Force X find themselves hunted by a newly formed Squad with a single mission: kill the previous Squad and take over hunting The Joker.

Turns out there is a Digger Pop from The Suicide Squad, but he’s a Walmart exclusive.  Nice to see he’s still got the duct tape on his boot.

Major spoilers for The Suicide Squad!
(You won't want to read this if you're planning to see the film, it spoils a lot)
So, as the spoilers have been saying for months, Digger dies at the beginning of the movie.  I accidentally heard that months ago and was hoping it wasn't true, but it is.  He does get some good moments though, and we see how dangerous he and his boomerangs are when he slices the top of a guy's head off; it is a very graphic and gory movie.  He dies with a grin on his face, but it's tough to tell whether it's an amused or distressed one.
The Thinker isn't really like either of the pre-Flashpoint Thinkers we've known, and he's even got a different name, Gaius Grieves.  He's based on the New 52 Thinker, who I'd always assumed was Clifford DeVoe with a different look (the things stuck in his head), but maybe it wasn't.  At any rate, this Thinker is smart and completely amoral, but not really genius-level smart and doesn't have any psi powers from his tech.  He's just an asshole who's studied/tortured Starro for thirty years and killed tons of innocent people in the process.
And weirdly, Double Down has a flashback cameo with Calendar Man, as they bully poor Polka Dot Man in prison.  So that means Double Down has made it to the big screen before Len and most of the major Rogues!
The only survivors of the serving Squad members are Bloodsport, Ratcatcher II, Harley, King Shark, Weasel, and Peacemaker.  The latter two are thought dead but manage to pull through.  I was hoping Polka Dot Man would live, but he doesn't.  However, Bloodsport and Ratcatcher are great and I'm glad they made it, as did the pet rat Sebastian.  This movie does not shy away from the brutality of the Suicide Squad concept and it's honestly tough to watch, but as much as I personally dislike gore I do think it's important to not sanitize what happens when a bunch of villains are set loose on dirty missions and treated as expendable.  That said, sensitive viewers (which I'm amongst, to tell the truth) may not want to watch this, especially because some of the deaths are done for humour.  Some are not, for example Starro's victims, which is portrayed as horrifying as it should be.
So I enjoyed the movie, but would rather have had less gore and I wish Digger and Polka Dot Man had survived.  It would have been nice to see more of the first group who died at the beginning to see them in action and how they interacted with each other, but perhaps that might have detracted from the coldness of the premise: that the powers that be don't give a shit about them and it doesn't matter who they are.
Here's Double Down and Calendar Man, by the way.

So George had a Girlfriend when he was a teen and there is a comic but I can't seem to find it Secret Files of the Suicide Squad 2016 Fabian Nicieza is the artist.
Hmmm, I hadn't heard of this, but I can't find it either and it seems like it's somewhat rare. I'm guessing Nicieza is the writer, not the artist (he's an old school X-books writer), and it's probably based on movie Digger since it was bundled/branded with the first film. Very intriguing, and thanks for sending along the tip! Does anyone have this book?

This is the new trailer which ‘leaked’, but probably deliberately so.  Digger actually gets a line.

I saw The Suicide Squad and loved it! I can see why someone who's put off by the gory stuff would be uncomfortable, though. And of course I went "NOOO 😭😭😭" in the first 5 minutes ;___; Still, I really really liked the movie, more than I did the first one! (but man, I would have LOVED for our favourite trash idiot to be a part of it!)
Spoilers for The Suicide Squad movie in this post!
Glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was great, although was taken aback by the blood and violence...not as badly as I would have been though if completely surprised, since I’d heard warnings about a lot of gore about a week earlier, and had long heard spoilers about lots of Squad deaths. People were spamming the latter all over the internet, sadly.
I'm one of the few people on the planet who genuinely enjoyed the first Suicide Squad movie, but this one was objectively better and I'm glad Gunn got a chance to tackle it. It sure would have been nice to see more of how he'd handle our boy, however!

Spoilers for The Suicide Squad movie in this post!
belphegor1982 said: Oh boy *yes*! Especially since what little we see of his and Harley’s interaction is really sweet?? I would have LOVED more of them being buds, tbh. (even if I’m sorta kinda glad he didn’t get to be gross with Cleo, because, y'know. That’s how he is characterised sometimes :S)
Yeah, that was really nice, and I like the idea of them being pals because they've worked together and figured they'd probably be doing so again in the future ;_;  It seems like the Thinker took the role of gross creep in the movie, so maybe Gunn's Digger would have been toned down if he'd done more...though obviously we'll never know.

Yeah, I cheered "Calendar Man!" and was focused on him being a funny jerk, then the camera panned away and I said "wait, I think that was Double Down!!"

Not a lot of Digger in this clip, but he is here in his new look.  And it was officially confirmed at DC Fandome that Peter Capaldi is playing the Thinker in the film.
