So with all the Gladiator 2 trailer dropping and that one image of Joe Keery from whatever that movie is, Ancient Roman Steddie AU.

Eddie is the Emperor. Steve is a gladiator. Eddie sees Steve fight in the Colusseum and is in love. Steve fights with a Roman version of the nail bat. Eddie and Steve meet because Eddie is the Emperor.

Emperor Eddie gives Gladiator Steve the "Steve's got it, don't ya, big boy?" before a tough match. This would definitely have some dub con elements because of Emperor plus Slave, but Steve is into him.

Basically Emperor Eddie constantly looking for excuses to see his gladiator. After one of Steve's fights, Emperor Eddie and Gladiator Steve fuck, which had been building.

I also like the idea of Emperor Eddie and Empress Chrissy lavender marriage. Empress Chrissy gets to fool around with Robin and Nancy and fuck it Vicky too because the only thing better than three lesbians is four lesbians.

I also need platonic Stobin in this, so maybe Robin is a slave/servant to the Empress. She and Steve were from the same people and were conquered. Maybe from Gaul or Britiania, it depends on when this is set.

Hopper could be a general or something, maybe praetorian guard. Idk.

I like the idea of Dustin and Max being twin kids of Eddie and Chrissy. (They have an heir and a spare and can just be platonic). Maybe Dustin is given some kind of exotic animal as a gift (Dart) and it escapes and Steve helps him find it.

Maybe El is a Vestal Virgin or in some cult. Idk.

Okay, so we have the typical not-into-metal Steve accidently meeting and falling in love with famous Rockstar Eddie Munson, and I love that for them and us

But

metalhead Steve going to see his favorite band, Corroded Coffin with his besties Robin and Dustin. They have great tickets because the plot demands it and during the concert Eddie makes eye contact with Steve more than once who ascends to fan person heaven. Basically they have back stage passes or something and Steve and Eddie meet. Eddie is super flirty and Steve isn't sure if that's because he does it for all the fans, but then when Robin and/or Dustin meet Eddie he is less flirty. Anyway Eddie signs something for Steve and includes his number.

They end up going on a date and Steve tries so hard not to be an obsessed fan on the date to the point that it's a little awkward. But they had fun and the chemistry is good and long story short they fuck nasty, become a couple.

So one of the common Steddie Tropes is that Eddie knows he's gay (or bi or pan or whatever) and Steve thinks he's straight, but then has a sexuality crisis and bam he figures out he is bi (or pan or gay or whatever). I love that, but I also really love seeing the opposite when it comes up in fics. Like Steve knows and Eddie has the sexuality crisis.

I also enjoy the Steve thinks Eddie is flagging and Eddie has no idea what the fuck that is.
