Disrupt: A bit of problem solving:

I fully finished the cloak today by adding decals to the inside.

The whole idea and purpose of this cloak is that the inside layers are soft and comforting like a dream or a fantasy life. The outside represents the harsh reality trying to penetrate our safe spaces like our dreams.

I had run into the problem however. I didn't know how I was going to sew the inside decals without the thread showing up on the other side.

My first answer was Fabric glue or hot glue, however I could not find any of those things. So after some brain storming I realized I was going to have to do the slow and tedious way.

I sewed my long stitches on the inside but when it came to sewing the outside, I did the smallest stitch possible so it wouldn’t show.

Overall I think it worked well. Also it didn’t take as long as I thought it would.

I added a cartoony heart to mirror the realistic heart then I added some embroidered flowers from my nanas old cushions. I wanted some sort of pillow decor on the inside to both hide up the messy stiches in that area but also how we sleep on pillows.

And just like that the cloak is done!

Car Update

Our Honda CRV is back from the shop with a “new” catalytic converter. It’s wrapped in rebar now so hopefully that will deter future theft. We put the finishing touches on Mandana’s setup and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
