Mere seconds after she had just declared their victory a sure thing, the single enemy they were facing turned to four. And all uninjured. “Aw, what?! No fair!”
Omen activates! -1 HP.  Elise gains 1 stack of Azure Spike. [Total: 1] Blessed Bow and Blessed Shield heal Elise for +1.5 HP!
The sting returns, coming and going at a dizzying rate that’s almost hard for her to keep up with. She assumes it probably has something to do with the little water animals that keep coming and going… At least she was right that they were trying to help?
Hands clutch her bow tighter at the sound of an explosion (though fortunately on the side of the enemies, not them) and jumps. Oh, okay. Yeah. Still attacking, still can’t heal. She can do that. This is fine. They can still win.
Elise [8/10 HP] attacks Nocturna Stella [10/10 HP] with Blessed Bow! (1d20+2 —> 18) Hit! Nocturna Stella [8.5/10 HP] Nocturna Stella is unable to counter!
She nocks an arrow and sends it flying, aiming over the middle guy in attempt to hit the main meanie. Her teams ignoring it now in favor of the other ones, but if chalice guy summoned them — then logically taking out the summoner would either get rid of the summoned, or the summoned would get scared and run away! It’s a genius idea, really. Everyone is gonna be so impressed, and they’ll be all like ‘wow, great job, Elise! You’re so cool!’ and then they’ll all be best friends forever and ever and—
The arrow bounces off her target and hits the middle guy in the back instead. Her jaw drops.
Oh yeah this guys totally cheating.
I’m beginning to think this is rigged guys @knighteclipsed @misutiera @reddragonprincess @laruarva

Timerra & Hortensia Support
Tumblr media
C-Support
Timerra: Ha, finally caught you, Princess Hortensia!
Hortensia: What? Princess Timerra! You were looking for me?
Timerra: Of course, I was! I have to make sure you keep your promise.
Hortensia: My promise?
Timerra: "If you want to make amends, defeat the Fell Dragon. Rebuild your kingdom." You know, your punishment for your crimes in Solm.
Hortensia: Oh, that's what you're talking about. Yes, I haven't forgotten. I'll do everything I can to make up for my actions.
Timerra: Good, because as the Crown Princess of Solm, I have deemed it my responsibility to keep an eye on you and make sure you uphold your end of the deal.
Hortensia: Haha. Interesting way to go about it, but okay. What do you want me to do first?
Timerra: First matter of business! You're joining me for lunch today. I need to make sure you're fed properly so you'll have the energy to pull your weight around here.
B-Support
Timerra: Meat! Meat! My favorite kind of treat! Nothing hits the spot like a rack of ribs to eat!
Hortensia: Haha, how are you always in high-spirits?
Timerra: I get that question a lot. Anyway, how have you been holding up? Have you been adjusting well?
Hortensia: It's a little challenging to be honest. Leaving Elusia meant leaving behind everything I grew up with. I don't know when I'll see all of my friends again.
Timerra: I get what you mean.
Hortensia: I'm surprised. You always seem surrounded by people who like you.
Timerra: Hehe, sure it seems that way now, but it wasn't always like that. No one at the palace ever really stays for too long. Everyone wanders around whenever they want. It's nice being able to leave as I please, but there were times when I'd get lonely and miss them.
Hortensia: Yeah....
Timerra: Hey, I have an idea. Meet me here tonight. I have something you'll want to see.
Hortensia: What would that be?
Timerra: I can't answer that. It would ruin the surprise.
A-Support
Timerra: Just a little bit farther.
Hortensia: You still haven't told me where we're going.
Timerra: Be patient. We're really close. Just a few more steps and ta-da!
Hortensia: It's a hill...
Timerra: No, look up!
Hortensia: *gasp* Oh wow! I've never seen so many stars before! It's so beautiful.
Timerra: Yeah. Looking at stars is my favorite. When I was little, my dad would leave the palace all the time. Before he left, he told me that if I ever missed him to look up at the night sky and that he'd be looking at the stars with me.
Hortensia: ....
Timerra: All those friends you miss. All the people you had to leave in Elusia. All of them can see this sky with you, Hortensia. You're not as far away from them as you think.
Hortensia: *Hic* Thank you, Princess Timerra.
Timerra: Still feeling lonely?
Hortensia: No. Not anymore.
Timerra: Good.

The counterattack had hit hard, but she managed to stop the both of them from spiraling into the ground, at least. Or, Barbie did mostly. She was just pulling on reigns and hoping it would work out.
Either way, a victory! And the other guy got the scary lady down! Two victories! That’s more than one! Even better!!
Oh hey one of their teammates is getting up again. She could’ve sworn it looked like she was gonna be down for the rest of the round again. That’s good. Good for her. Three victories. Yay.
Though she does kinda feel bad for their other teammate. What is this, the third time now?? Whoever is in charge of these illusions must not like her.
…or the other healer, apparently. Despite being at the other end of the arena, she winces. That looked like it hurt. A lot.
Elise [6/10 HP] heals Arval [1/10 HP] with Recover! (1d20 —> 15) +6 HP.Arval [7/10 HP]
A pat to the head of the wyvern and a point to the target, and she takes off yet again. This time landing gently beside said target, rather than slamming an axe into their skull. That would be counterproductive in the whole ‘trying to help’ thing. And also not very nice.
Fortunately, despite being given the rest of her big sister’s equipment, she manages to find her staff stashed away in place of where a tome would typically reside. (Thankfully. She isn’t sure what she’d do if she was stuck only attacking again.) “I dunno what you did or how you did it, but if she can’t go down then neither can you! You got this! …Whatever ‘this’ is!”
all I hear is the sound of us winning with the power of friendship woo yeah go team @laruarva

“Yeah, see? He agrees. We’re totally gonna win.” Elise gives a confident nod before turning back to watch the fight. Except then he misses. Then he gets hit. Then the both of her teammates get hit.
God’s Living Likeness activates! (1d20 —> 2) Miss! Elise gets hit with -1 HP of splash damage from Days Long Gone.
She herself doesn’t get hit (for once, finally. Seriously, does this guy have a personal grudge against her or something??), though she still winces as though she had. And it kinda feels like she did, too. Sympathy pain.
Okay, maybe it’s not as much of a sure victory as she had thought. But it’s fine, they’re fine. Her fellow healer seems to have gotten their staff under control, at least! That’s a win. Wins are wins, doesn’t matter the flavor, still good. Like an ice cream.
Elise [9/10 HP] heals Arval [5.5/10 HP] with Recover! (1d20+4 —> 12) +6 HP. Arval [10/10 HP]
The original target of her prior healing may be taken, but she takes it as an opportunity to repay the favor from earlier. She’d probably be out right now if it weren’t for that, after all. Last round, too. “Nobody’s gonna be disappointed in anybody. Just try your best, and that’s okay! Right? Hehe.”
Gods she’s so happy to be support again. Damage dealing is stressful.

I like that all the nations in Engage show the negative sides of each virtue associated with them
Brodia's might and Elusia's wisdom are both obvious, leading to warfare and research into the Fell Dragon respectively
However, Firene's bounty lead to them being relatively complacent and in Fogado's words, appearing isolated and closed off. They don't need anyone else so they didn't bother building up their alliances beyond "let's not kill each other." They never even considered setting up trading goods by the sound of things
Meanwhile, Solm's freedom does lead to the issue of being less structured. Timerra mentions their forces being spread thin and Solmic culture despises debts which implies their people are more likely to focus on their own personal problems than accept responsibility for other people's well-beings by joining a formal military. Which is probably why every character from Solm mentions dealing with bandit attacks at least once and why Timerra and Fogado are often shown dealing with these attacks personally while Céline is able to delegate the task to someone else in her Alear support

Engage Localization replacing Pandreo's Party Screams with wolf howling is a bit funny because in doing so Pandreo absolutely eclipses another Solmian's wolf coding, and no, I'm not talking about Merrin, who is obviously and visibly a furry. Rather, I'm fully willing to argue Merrin's wolfiness is meant to be seen as an extension of Timerra's wolf motifs.
Timerra is the one who spends every other support talking about and loving meat. She has a pack of domesticated wolves she rides on all the time even if she doesn't use them for combat herself. Being future Queen of Solm AND Leader of both Known Furry Merrin and Panette, who had a stint as a feral bandit child with her own pack of domesticated wolves, Timerra is clearly coded as the Alpha Wolf of the pack she leads, with Racket of Solm being akin to their group howling. It's just that Pandreo not only has no direct 1-on-1 interactions with Timerra or Merrin, he is also overwhelmingly more popular than them (thanks to gameplay usefulness if nothing else, but you can bring race and gender on this discussion if you feel like it) and has his howling be on the forefront of everything he does, while Timerra's wolf motifs require a minimal amount of digging and putting together, so the end result is that Pandreo gets the vast majority of the Eng Fandom's wolf jokes, with Merrin's own wolfiness being seen as a standalone thing rather than an extension of her connection to Timerra.
The localization wasn't even actually trying to intentionally obscure part of Timerra and her retainers' characterization here or anything. Solm just has a fuckton of wolves now.

Timerra & Alcryst Support
Tumblr media
C-Support
Timerra: Alright, only a few more bandits left to knock down. Just need to hold out a little longer.
Alcryst: Princess Timerra! Watch out!
Scenes changes
Timerra: And that's the last of them. Yup, that should be all of the bandits the villagers told me about. Thanks for all the help, Prince Alcryst. I have to admit. I was pretty surprised to see you rush in like that.
Alcryst: No need to flatter me, Prince Timerra. By the time I intervened, you had already subdued most of the bandits. My contributions matter very little compared to yours.
Timerra: Yikes! What's with the sudden pessimism? It doesn't matter if I needed your help. What matters is that you chose to help. That's why I'm thanking you.
Alcryst: I'm sorry.... I've never been good at handling compliments.
Timerra: Well, that's okay. I'm still grateful for your help. It's always a fun surprise when I get a extra hand during a bandit raid.
B-Support
Alcryst: Excuse me, Princess Timerra?
Timerra: Heya, Prince Alcryst! What do you need?
Alcryst: Well, I um...
Timerra: I'm sorry. I didn't catch that. Can you repeat that a little louder?
Alcryst: Um, is there a reason you've been sticking so close to me during battle?
Timerra: Oops. You noticed, huh?
Alcryst: It was hard not to. Every time I turned around, I'd see you staring at me. Knowing you were watching me made it hard to focus to be honest.
Timerra: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable or anything. It's just really interesting to see you like that.
Alcryst: I don't know what you mean.
Timerra: You're usually so quiet and timid, but when the battle starts, you're a completely different person. You're confident and bold. I've never seen you miss a shot. It's kind of amazing.
Alcryst: You think I'm amazing? Princess Timerra, I think I've given you the wrong impression of me. You really shouldn't have high hopes for me. It's sure to be disappointing when I fail to meet such high expectations.
Timerra: Hm... Nope, I don't see that happening. I've seen you at your best. I know you'll do just fine.
Alcryst: Gah! Such honest praise. Am I actually feeling pleased with myself? I'm sorry, Princess Timerra. I must go now!
Alcryst leaves
Timerra: Hehe. Yup, he's definitely an interesting one.
A-Support
Timerra: Looks like I rushed into this one... There are too many bandits around here. I'll have to clear a path and fall back.
Alcryst: Princess Timerra, get down!
Scene changes
Timerra: Thanks for the save, Prince Alcryst! You really came through for me out there.
Alcryst: I'm just glad that you're alright. If you were hurt in any way, I don't know what we'd do without you.
Timerra: You know, Prince Alcryst? You really are a great person.
Alcryst: W-what? Where did that come from?
Timerra: Haha! Just thinking out loud. You're not confident all the time, but you're confident when it counts. If someone needs you, you're right there to help no matter what. That's what makes you "you".
Alcryst: Wow, I don't know what to say.
Timerra: Hehe, you don't have to say anything. Just accept the compliment.
Alcryst: I... Thank you, Princess Timerra. It's touching to know that you think so highly of me. I'll do my best to live up to your expectations.
Timerra: That's easy. Just be yourself! That's more than enough.

@solmtinel ; Riding +1
You're telling him that Fódlan actually opened itself up for diplomatic relationships with other countries and continents? And made itself some friends across the seas? And those friends can come to the Academy and study here and not be treated with sneering and suspicion every step they take?
To Claude, this feels like the wildest dream he has ever had. But also he won't lie, if this is a dream, then he wouldn't mind never waking up.
Of course, this process of opening the doors and borders has taken some time now, as he knows, and will take some time still, but that's cool by him. He expected that. He expected it to take longer than however long he has to walk this earth, really. The progress made so far is already more than he ever thought he would get to see.
Well, anyway. With new visitors come new customs, and supposedly, one of them has introduced a most peculiar tradition: wolf riding. The mere idea sounds strange to Claude when he first hears it. He's seen wolves in his life, they are gorgeous and majestic creatures, and by no means small - but he doesn't recall seeing a wolf big enough to ride. How does that even work? Do they actually mean that literally?
This curiosity, and the resulting eagerness to open his own eyes to the new and unknown the same way he had hoped Fódlan itself to do, brings him to the monastery's kennel (big and beautiful, fairly recently built by the looks of it) to check it out.
It is as he enters and his eyes land upon the wolves resting in the kennel that he understands the answer. Yeah, he's seen wolves alright. Never as big as those though, what the heck? He's fairly sure he has seen horses smaller than these.
In front of the next kennel, he spots a person - another student, and from his very House at that, as he now recalls. He smiles bright and waves in greeting as he's noticed.
"Hello there. Here to check out the wolves, too? Is it true they've had some pups recently?" He laughs, a hint nervously. Those are some wolves alright. "Are the pups... also as big?"

this isn’t the kind of thing you normally do so please feel free to delete but i’d like to rally some support for a Black character in a voting event. basically every year there’s an event to decide which 4 characters from the entire fire emblem roster will get special versions in the gacha game. last year my girl Timerra had the least votes of the 4 lords from her title and over 7000 votes less than her white female counterpart. very much an “i knew this fandom was racist but 😐” moment
voting starts today and you can vote once a day for the next week. all you need to vote is a nintendo account. i don’t think she’s going to win but i would love to see her do better than 44th place. iirc she was the only lord from her title out of the top 20 in her gender division, which again. 😐
side note, i definitely have some issues with her design (why does the Black girl have the exact same face and hair texture as just about every other girl in the game) but she’s the one dark skinned Black girl we have in this franchise and she deserves more love than this fandom gives her. side side note, if i ever get back into drawing she’s the first character im giving a redesign. i already have hair styles in mind for her and her brother.
ty ice, whether you publish this or not have a lovely day
vote for timmy my beloved here
Tumblr media
It says you have to have a nintendo account, so for all of you that do! I personally would love to vote if I could, so do so in my name!
