Torsion Bar Suspension System
Tumblr media
The torsion bar is a long, round steel bar that is connected to the vehicleโ€™s chassis at one end and the suspension arms at the other end. The torsion bar suspension system has the ability to absorb the major shock coming from the road with the weight-bearing principle.
Read More- Construction of Torsion Bar Suspension System
It is connected to the vehicle chassis transversely. The torsion bar works to transfer the body weight in the longitudinal axis. The torsion bar suspension system is a significant and acute element of a vehicle design. As the wheels move up and down, the torsion bar twists along its length. This twisting motion of the torsion bar creates a spring-like resistance, providing the necessary suspension to the vehicle.
This system helps to keep the tires in contact with the road, upkeep the weight of the vehicle, and absorb the forces produced by the movement or motion of the vehicle.
