Time management. Managers are the people who have the ability to keep the system running. Such skill requires knowledge and discipline. Knowledge of what is being managed (a project or team) and discipline to keep it working in the right way or to start a new schedule that enhances it. Like money, we only invest time in what we believe will bring us some sort of positive return. We only buy a course or trip when we believe it will really be worth it. The problem is that, like money, we often waste our time or we distributed it in the wrong way over the tripod of leadership that guides our lives, and in the end we feel the consequences of such an attitude. Has it happened to you, or someone close to, to invest money in a course with a certain duration and a little after the beginning to abandon it? This happens because the course has come to be seen as something where it would not be worth the investment of money (and in this case time as well). It is very common to waste time where you waste your money, but there is a big difference: money can be recovered, time no. Time is our most valuable and scarce currency. It is the only one that once used, there is no refund nor way to get back. Time management is the most powerful strategy for us to reduce waste and use it wisely. The goal is to make our efforts increasingly effective and do the best job in less time. We must invest time to build a powerful agenda with our daily activities that points us out as we distribute time for the tripod of leadership. Remember: the fact that there is one more important area (in the conception of each person) does not mean that we should invest much more time in it. So, in order for you to enjoy good time with your family (if that is your most valuable asset), you need a job that will help you pay the bills (the financial area) and be good to yourself (spiritual area) in order to care for them and help them grow. Now reflect on this: there is no way to make up for lost time. It is then up to us to give it the value it deserves, to stop wasting and start investing it.
