the sims 4: swiftacy a 10 generation swiftie legacy challenge

Welcome to my Sims 4 Swiftacy Challenge! I’m Gilly, and I recently became extremely enamored with the music of Taylor Swift. I kept thinking how well the storylines in her music would work with a legacy challenge, so I’ve designed each generation of this challenge to reference a different Taylor Swift era. I’ve included generation colors as well just in case you’d like to play this challenge with berry or banilla sims!

Besides the main 9 generations, I’ve also included a few bonus generation prompts. Feel free to use these in addition to or instead of a certain generation’s rules (or include them as their own separate gen!) 

This is a pretty story-oriented legacy, but by no means are you required to play this legacy in that way! Feel free to edit challenge rules or add your own rules to each generation if you want to make it more gameplay-oriented.

hawley swiftacy gen 1 completed .✦

when i’ll be 87, you’ll be 89 / i’ll still look at you like the stars that shine in the sky.

with nothing but her guitar, alison koehler moved to the quiet town of meadow glen, determined to pursue a career as a country musician. she had a bit of a rocky start, falling in love with a man who was secretly seeing the girl that lived next door. heartbroken, she dove head first into her career.

it wasn't long until she met andrew, a shy scientist who was watching her play for tips one afternoon in the local park. they instantly hit it off and built a life together with their numerous animals. the pair married quickly, a fairytale autumn wedding leading to the long lasting romance that alison had always hoped for.

they ended up having five children, per andrew's lifetime wish. their first was stephen, then twins, juliet and elijah. they then welcomed another set of twins, abigail and angeline. a very full house filled with lots of love (fertility treatment in this game is no joke).

alison and andrew hawley created a real legacy for their family, maxing the music and science career respectively. they bought out the theater, renaming it to the 'hawley theatre' in honor of alison's memorable performances and all the positives she's brought to the community. she also purchased the town's horse ranch that her daughter's horse stays at.

that daughter, juliet, will be the heir for the fearless generation, starting a new chapter of the hawley story.

Presenting A CAS Legacy Based On @gillysims​ Swiftacy Challenge

Gen 1: Debut

Ivy Fields grew up in the small town of Aloe Springs with Dusty Mirage. There’s never been much to do in Aloe Springs, but somehow the pair had idealic childhood adventures, followed by a High school love story straight out of a song. This was quickly followed by a wedding at 19 and Fraternal twins Zinnia and Cactus at 21. Sandy would be born two years later, and their family would be complete with the arrival of Sunflower a year and a half later. Everything seemed perfect until shortly after the couples tenth anniversary when Dusty ran off with Beau Solar. Ivy was devastated, but strong woman that she is she quickly dusted herself off and adjusted to life as a single mom. G

Gen 2: Fearless

Rules:

Based on “Love Story” and “Change”  OR “You All Over Me” Gen Color: Gold You grew up in a fractured household. For that reason, your parent(s) and/or sibling(s) are fiercely protective of you. That’s not too much of a problem… until you fall in love with someone your family disapproves of. You allow your feelings to quietly simmer. But eventually you and your love realize that the feelings are mutual.You hide your relationship for a while, but eventually you are found out. Your family member tries to end the relationship, but you know that this is the person you’re meant to spend your life with. You try to convince your family to approve of your love. My new years simming resolution is to play with 1 sim file... I have a bad habit of deleting save files or starting multiple ones instead of sticking to one. CORNELIA ARCHER’S BC (attempt 2.0...)

I announced this BC almost three years ago but overestimated myself with the ambition and just wasn't in a good place mentally in the following months (to put it mildly), but now I feel like I've missed projects like this a lot and am still vibing with the idea of this BC. Also my ts3 is running so much better now, which was one of the initial reasons for cancellation, but now it's a lot easier for me, woo!

Before it got cancelled, I've got a few contestants. I think some of them were given for public download since, but it's really not a problem for me, I can still use them. Right now I'm thinking of still using the same contestants and maybe accepting a few more. I also asked a few people on discord who said it's fine to use the same sims.

In case someone would like to join and make a contestant, let me know under this post or in an ask! The catch of the BC is that the contestant should be based on a song/album (of any artist), as Cornelia herself is very Taylor Swift inspired and is a Lover girlie, actually made on the singer's 30th birthday in 2019 as a tribute sim (she and the winner may even appear in the Lover gen of my swiftacy if I get there hehe) (yes I'm an absolutely hopeless swiftie, all of my saves have some inspo from her) (and what about it).

I don't know how many sims I would accept (11 would be perfect... I'd dress her as one of the eras for every episode). But it would be fine for me if I got less than that, realistically the simblr climate isn't the same as back when BCs were more popular, I guess.

CC is allowed, though don’t go overboard with it. I mostly use Chazy/Poisonfireleafs hair retextures, and I may change makeup and eyebrows to similar ones because I like keeping everything in my style, unless it’s something that makes the sim unique and is a part of them.

No custom sliders, please.

I have all the packs. You may set all outfits for your sim so they can match their color scheme, but it’s fine if you can’t.

Private download, but it's okay if you decide to make it public (to those who already made it public, don't stress).

Please write a bio for your sim. It doesn’t have to be long, just basics of their personality.

The most important aspect of this BC: it’s not a regular one, it’s a music-inspired BC. Therefore, your sim must be inspired by a certain song, music video, artist, or music album - it could be whatever you wish! (absolutely no pressure if you can't think of anything and would just want to make a regular sim, but I just thought it would be a fun prompt)

The deadline for making a sim is September 30 (flexible). The faster I get all the sims, the better, but no pressure!

Presenting A CAS Legacy Based On @gillysims​ Swiftacy Challenge

Gen 4: Red

Blaze was always a nervous child, uncomfortable in the spotlight his parents attracted. He dealt with this by painting anything and everything he could think of on whatever he could find. Inevitably his moms pushed him into art school because they couldn’t let him waste his talent. While there he met Robin Glacier, a foreign exchange student that swept him off his feet. Their relationship was hot and passionate and he thought they were soulmates, but when Robin returned home their relationship came to an abrupt end. Blaze through himself and his emotions into his art.  A few years later he would meet Sky Amazonite  who was working as an assistant at the gallery where he showed most of his art. They became friends while working on his latest exhibit and in time became lovers. The two would get married 3 years later and then 2 years after that they welcomed their first daughter Begonia to their little family. Another 3 years would pass and their second daughter Marigold was born. Life was perfect, and then Blaze ran into Robin on the set of a documentary he was being interviewed for. Their attraction was just as magnetic in their 40′s as it had been in their 20′s. A one night mistake turned into an affair which lead to him leaving Skye and moving in with Robin. The fiery passion would quickly turn into fiery fights as they quickly discovered they were wholly incompatible outside of bed. Blaze’s relationships and work suffered as the gravity of his mistake set in. Begonia, now in high school, would convince him to leave Robin, and slowly coax her parents into talking and going to therapy together. Eventually Blaze and Sky would get back together, and he would treasure their peaceful easy going relationship.

Presenting A CAS Legacy Based On @gillysims​ Swiftacy Challenge

Gen 2: Fearless

Sunflower Mirage fell head over heels in love with Lupin Twilight when they were in high school. The two ended up paired together in Chemistry class and became fast friends. Her family did not approve of her relationship with the rich rumored playboy, so even though the feelings were mutual nothing happens. Lupin would go away to college, while Sunflower ended up waiting tables at the local restaurant dreaming about the future she could've had. Lupin returns to town 6 years later and he brings his husband Foxglove Amethyst with him. Sunflower is crushed by this development but the two remain friends do to Lupin persistence, which isn't exactly easy since she still loves him, but she gets along well with Foxglove too so it works for them. Then something stunning happens Foxglove asks if she is interested in dating both of them. Completely stunned she eventually asks if they really want to date her and both readily reassure her. The three start dating and for the first few months they hide it from her family,  but that becomes harder to do as the relationship becomes more serious. To say they didn't understand her polyamorous relationship would be to put it mildly, but when it came time for the wedding and babies they all showed up and supported them. Shortly after their wedding Sunflower found out she was pregnant with Heath, a little over a year after he was born Iris followed - both fathered by Foxglove. 2 years later she had the twins, Triana and Wisteria, with Lupin. A couple years later she and Foxglove had one more baby named Pansy to complete their family.

You grew up in a close-knit community. You were poor, but your family was loving. You spent many hours as a child outdoors with a family friend your age. Your relationship started innocent, but as the two of you grew older, you fell in love. You got married young and started a family early.

Then, you discover your partner isn’t being faithful. Your picturesque family life and the dreams you had for so long come crashing down. Will you forgive your long-time love, or is it time to move on?

Start the legacy in a small home, living with your family (any number of parents and siblings, if you’d like)

You remain the shy, awkward kid up until you reach adulthood, and you try to turn your creative hobby into a career. At the same time, you meet someone and fall in love for the very first time. You are swept up in a passionate romance, more intense than you’ve ever felt before, and your art is profoundly affected.

But, for reasons entirely outside of your control, your lover breaks your heart. You are shattered, and must turn back to your art to pull you out of your pain. You persevere, and throw your passion into honing your craft. You meet someone through your art and have a happy romance. Years later, you meet your ex again and realize that the pain is gone. What happens next?

You break up with your love, too scared of the relationship, even as you still love them. However, your love fights for you and wins you back.

However, as happy as you are with your partner, you have a summer fling with their best friend in a moment of weakness. Your partner is furious, and breaks up with you. However, you’re still in love and try to win them back.

“cardigan” - You are not the coolest kid in school. However, all that changes when you catch the eye of the popular kid and start dating. They are the first person you’ve ever met that makes you feel wanted. You’re happy for a while until you realize that they aren’t being faithful. What’s worse is they cheated on you with your best friend! You break up with them, but you’re still in love. When they return and ask for your forgiveness, you give it to them.

“august” - You’re the artsy nobody at your school. You’ve always had a crush on the most popular kid in school, but your best friend ends up dating them instead. You try to be happy for them, but it’s difficult, and you find yourself dreaming of your crush each night. Then, one fateful summer, you take a chance and ask to be with them. For a while, you think that this relationship will last, but your crush leaves you again at the end of the summer for your friend. Now you’ve ruined your relationship with your best friend and with your love.
