Obligatory TF: One megastar meme

As much as I love DPax and Oplita,Low-key can we talk about these three though? Because tf One gave a lot of potential for StarWaveWave.

It's just simply how they are always together,in every single scene they are present throughout the movie,they are always together the only time they were separated was when Starscream got captured and even then Soundwave and Shockwave were always together,when they finished the rescue attempt alongside Orion and Elita the three of them immediately reunited/regrouped and continued to fight alongside eachother,they were thrown aside in different directions when Optimus fought them but not even a few minutes later when Megatron orders the High Guard to follow him they are once again standing next to eachother. Implying that literally after they managed to get back up they immediately ran back to eachother lol.

Literally don't separate them.

Even in the storyboards when they helped D-16 restrain Sentinel,and when they fought Optimus they are coordinated in the sense they don't pause for a minute,after one gets taken down the other immediately follows up with an attack,no one really forces them to always be next to eachother nor does Starscream yell at them to do that they just naturally choose to stand by eachother out of choice whenever given the opportunity, their battle movements are also pretty coordinated as they have eachother's back during the palace attack scene in the background Soundwave takes down a drone trailing Shockwave and Starscream follows up by shooting down one following Soundwave.

It's these subtle hints of camaderie that's what interesting about them as a ship/ot3. In the sense they will always have more history with eachother than they do with Megatron.

Since Alpha Trion outright said the war against the quintessons has been going on for thousands of cycles, even if we assume the three are not THAT old, they should atleast be around a couple hundred cycles old, as to be regarded as legendary warriors who are still remembered for their feats by Bee even after so many cycles. Which meant to get as high as in their ranks they've likely been working in the High Guard for a LONG time and have known eachother for so many cycles.

Shockwave also tried to interfere during Dee and Starscream's fight but Soundwave stopped him as much I believe he did that because he found it funny and enjoyed a brawl like any other Guard, I think it's also so because Soundwave kind of gets where this is going, Starscream at the time was not really trying to kill D-16 so he was holding back, trying to boast infront of an audience to give off a show of strength for their enjoyment,Soundwave has likely seen him do this a million times when he gets battle hungry before so he doesn't see the need to interfere if they get a good fight,that is before Dee took out the cannon.

One thing that I like about this continuity is it's Megatron who is the newer one to already pre established dynamics within the High Guard,which adds interesting potential for storylines, he's the one who needs to integrate himself and form a completely new dynamic around his new army.

The way I see StarWaveWave is mostly the Waves low-key getting annoyed with Starscream's antics,which is kind of the case in canon they definitely would bicker a lot because that is a given,but at the same time there is that camaderie as they've been working alongside eachother for hundreds if not thousands of cycles long before Sentinel's betrayal and even longer before they even met the quartet and became Decepticons before their own fall from grace they knew eachother before everything went down when life was still somewhat good for them before the Primes died,so there is also like some care underneath all of it even if they wonder why they are tolerating eachother at times. Or alternatively Wavewave and their angry jet boy. They have a dysfunctional relationship.

Soundwave appears to be the most reasonable out of the three of them he's low-key one of the reasons why they've survived this long,and Shockwave has a temper and gets irritated quickly (although that is understandable to an extent )but since he's not by this point devoid of any emotions there are many instances which shows he really does care and given how his reaction to Elita and Soundwave he doesn't have a problem following orders if it makes sense,and Starscream is well Starscream enough said but he does have competent strengths as a leader since he did keep them alive for 50 cycles and there is also the detail that in the storyboards the High Guard only made the move to follow Megatron out of Iacon after Starscream told them to follow their new leader same as in the movie he's the first one to hail Megatron, there is room for some fun interactions.

Just a short post about why I love this ot3. Although I really do just ship them in the qpr way, because of my aroace hcs for all three of them but really I need to see their relationship more,and I need to see them trying to have a weirdly twisted mentorship with Megatron since he's still pretty inexperienced in war even if he has the qualities of a leader.

SoundStarShock Headcanons

Sooo - I've seen many people on Twitter / X shipping Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave thanks to Transformers One. Like - look at those 3. Appearing together? Standing together? And at the end? I need no more explanations - nothing, nada, rien.

Starscream snuggles from time to time his helm against Soundwave's or Shockwave's - and said action has been rubbed (no pun intented) on both mechs too.

Imagine how both Sound and Shock were confused by that, but Thundercracker and Skywarp explained to them that was quite common among seekers.

(Now looking at it... TC & Soundwave = blue. SW & Shockwave = purple. Do you see what I am seeing?) Moving on.

Soundwave would gently knock his forehelm with either bots.

They def have inside jokes. And laugh togehter... menacingly.

They gossip - that ain't a headcanon, is canon.

Starscream's love language is Words of affirmation, Soundwave's is Physical touch and Shockwave's is Quality time. Make this either fluffy or toxic, anything works with these three babygirls.

Shockwave and Starscream are yappers, Soundwave is happy to listen.

The are quite protective of each other - Starscream being the sole one to be too aggressive-loud, while the two Waves are deadly silent.

Can you imagine how things would play whoever was the first one to propose the idea of being a poly relationship? Like - Imagine the potential for each bot.

Starscream fell first? Constantly in denial - "Ugh, feelings." - and was more irritating than he was already. But would from time to time praise the other two mechs, to then deny he did it. And in the end, he asked out demanded both mechs to become his sparkmates. "Only you two have proven to be worthy to become my sparkmates - a-and... ugh, the leader would be nothing without his Second and Third in command!" ... strangely that moved Shockwave's and Soundwave's sparks.

Soundwave fell first? Attentive, and would always try to be close or have minimun physical contact with either mech. One servo on Shockwave's shoulder, leaning by Starscream's side. You name it. He would have fell first for Shockwave, then Starscream - yes, maybe the 1st one is a tad off about his scientific research even at harsh times and Starscream can be quite flawed as a leader, but Shockwave showed passion, and Starscream tried to keep his people safe. "Soundwave: request. Starscream and Shockwave: spark bond with Soundwave."

Shockwave fell first? Alright, this is interesting. He would definitely evaluate the other two mechs, trying to be logical to deem worth the shot or to not waste his own time. And can see Shockwave approach both mechs directly to tell them he wants to test and hypothesis, therefore he needed the three of them to become romantically involved. And he was ready to just take the data he needed and step back... buuut he feels complete with them. It would be illogical to step back from his sparkmates now.

• Leaning over where you’re sprawled on your belly, he slides a servo down your spine and watches one of your legs stretch out. And the chaos of your organic thoughts is a deep, calm lake right now, not overwhelming him with you. Venting it’s a struggle to not just scoop you up blankets and all and slide you into his cassette compartment. That pull, almost an obsession, that made him take you to begin with is a constant hum in the back of his processor, whispering that you’re his. Meant to be his. That he knows you and he’s known you before in another life. That he’ll always find you no matter how far he has to travel.

• Startling when servos slide under you and you’re lifted with your blankets and pillows, you don’t resist when the giant mech slides you into the warmth of his cassette compartment. Still have no real idea what he wants with you, but you’ve seen his other little guys, his cassettes. Maybe because you’re around their size, he’s adopted you as another one of them? Have no idea and he’s not exactly that talkative, but he’s been nothing but gentle with you so far. Handling you like you’re made of glass even as it’s obvious you frustrate him.

• Shivering slightly as your too quick organic emotions cascade through him, even relaxed, you’re overwhelming him. And he clears his vents slowly when you just curl up in your nest inside him. Hoping you go back to sleep because it’s easier to deal with you when you’re not awake and flooding him with flashes of images and sensations. Slowly inoculating himself to you, slowly getting used to it so you don’t cripple him with your thoughts. Because you’re worse than the little yellow bug had been, at least he’d been able to understand B-127’s thoughts, you’re a constant assault on him.

• He’s on the move, his cassette compartment dim aside from the faint ruddy glow of his biolights. Lazily stretching out an arm, you trace one and it brightens, pulses. Responding to your touch. Why do you feel so safe with him? Like he’d protect you no mattter what? You don’t really know him at all, but it feels like you do. Like you should know him. Like you were waiting your whole life for him and you don’t understand it. “Soundwave?” And he rumbles around you, the deep noise strangely soothing, seeming to whisper through you that everything’s okay.

• Servos lifting to press against his cassette compartment, he can feel you touching him, feel your heart beating against him. Knowing he’s not the only one affected. Feeling your sense of peace at being near him. And he knows several other Decepticons have been affected. Driven to claim the little organic denizens of this planet, to find one specific human that’s only theirs. That they somehow, impossibly know. Like they were always meant to crash here.

Drawing robots is a pain,, but anyways in my au, during the war, Soundwave switches his visor mask combo to a full-on visor that covers his face instead. He did this because expressing his emotions had become more difficult since he had to dial up his emotion-suppressing protocols because the negative thoughts of everyone around him had started to overwhelm. so in this au, the primes are never killed and sentinel is essentially kicked out of Iacon for trying to betray them and team up with the Quintessons, and he makes a makeshift lair in the vast deserts on the surface of Cybertron while trying to brew up a plan of revenge.

Later on, the Thirteen Primes are thinking a little less about Sentinel, especially with the arrival of the newest Prime, a sparkling named Optimus. To celebrate they invited the entirety of Iacon including the High Guard to what’s basically Optimus’s first birthday, and Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave plan to gift the new Prime three individual presents at the event.

At the beginning of the celebration, Optimus is declared to be betrothed to D-16, a High Guard in Training, and both are to become sparkmates when they reach the proper age.

Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream give their presents, with Starscream blessing Optimus with strength and health, while Shockwave grants him beauty, both inside and out. But when it’s Soundwave’s turn to give his gift, the doors to the Palace of the Primes blast open, revealing Sentinel and Airachnid right by his side.

He pretends to be upset that the Primes didn’t invite him to see this oh-so precious sparkling, before cursing him with a terrible fate: to prick his digit on the sharp edge of a seemingly ordinary mining tool, and have his spark die out.

The Primes are shocked and angry when this happens, especially Alpha Trion, who protectively cradles Optimus in his arms as the sparkling wailed.

The High Guard try to attack Sentinel but he flies away while Airachnid trails behind him in her alt mode, the vengeful false Prime cackling menacingly.

The Thirteen Primes are incredibly worried and frantic, Alpha Trion still clutching Optimus Prime as tightly as possible.

There was a panic set in the room, Iaconian civilians terrified of the encounter, while the High Guard were still in their fighting stances.

Soundwave analyzed the entire situation and then looked back at the sparkling crying, creating a solution that could possibly work to fend off Sentinel's awful curse.

He still presents his gift, but it's changed: his power isn't strong enough to completely overturn the curse but he's able to alter it, making Optimus fall asleep instead, only to wake up after receiving a true love's kiss.

Of course, that wasn't enough to deter the Primes' cautiousness, and they and the three High Guards devised a plan to make sure this curse never came to be; Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave would raise the child deep in the forests of Cybertron, naming him Orion Pax and keeping him safe until he passed the age of 16, and only then would he be brought to Iacon to live as Optimus Prime.

That also meant isolating the young Prime, something that became exceedingly difficult when Orion asked his three uncles why he couldn't meet other bots despite being allowed to explore the forests in front of him.

But little did Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream know, was that Orion met D-16 as a young bot and had become childhood friends with him in secret, something they'd find out with a nasty shock on Orion's 16th birthday.
