Like the majority of society I’m obsessed with Nimona

And I rewatched it a million times and one thing always sticks out to me 

There are moments when Ambrosius is surrounded by light like a little protective bubble 

That keeps him away from the man he loves more than anything

Nimona hits different when you realize that it's never stated if there ARE actually any other 'monsters' like Nimona, in fact, the opposite is implied.

The movie seems to hint that, well, Nimona is the only one, which- holy fuck, that means every commercial about killing monsters, every campaign against them, every single lie the history books have turned into truth...

It's all just in reference to her.

Especially around this damn fool, Ricky “Jupiter” Park.

NOPE (2022) SPOILERS AHEAD

The way my dude learned exactly ALL the wrong lessons from his final day on Gordy’s Home. Or maybe that he just sorta latched onto ANYTHING that could help him cope with what happened.

The eerily upright shoe, which he now keeps in a display case, as though he’d been waiting DECADES for “the other shoe to drop”.

The alien merch he sells which are basically an ape body with the head ripped off and camera body on top.

Or that he spent MONTHS feeding what was basically a giant wild animal, which made it establish the valley as its “territory”. 

Not so much as accrue massive fame or fortune (as the sparse crowd would attest), but more-so as to attest to the fact the HE now has control. What happened on set could NEVER happen again.

Right?

I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what flower was on his jacket and then it hit me:

STARGAZER LILIES 

Rejuvenating the soul, but also grieving and death.

Also, am I stretching, or was this an ET reference??

just came home from watching across the spiderverse for the second time in the movie theatre. and i noticed the focus on communication and listening. The Spot wants Miles to listen to his story. Miles asks his parents to listen. Rio tells Miles that his dad is “ready to listen”. Miguel wants Miles to stop talking and listen. Peter B. Parker asks Miles to listen. and he’s even reading a book called “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk” (that is a real parenting book btw). it just conveys so well the themes of the movie. real communication is not in telling others what they should be or do. the real strength lies in listening to one another.
